Description

Prospective new Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank could look to raid current club Brentford in the transfer market, according to reports - with the Bees gaffer supposedly keen on taking Nathan Collins with him across the capital once his appointment at Spurs is confirmed.

The Irishman established himself as a key member of Brentford's squad last season, playing in every league minute available - and the 24-year-old's Premier League experience, having already made 115 top-flight outings for Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, is admirable for Frank - who could take him to north London.

Report: Thomas Frank Could Bring Nathan Collins With Him to Tottenham

The Brentford defender was an ever-present for the Bees this season

The report by the Hounslow Herald states that with Tottenham set to meet Brentford's release clause for Frank in the 'coming hours', and the Bees boss having said his goodbyes to those at the club this morning, it could see him aim to bring Collins with him to north London.

The Dane finished 10th with Brentford last season, recording his second top-half finish in just four top-flight seasons in west London - and that has seen him all but win the race to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, ending his seven-and-a-half-year spell at Brentford.

And those who have given him the most success at the Gtech Community Stadium, Collins and Bryan Mbeumo, are also on Frank's shortlist once he completes the move. A failure to bring either player in isn't seen as a 'dealbreaker' for his move across the capital, especially with Mbeumo being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United after negotiations were opened with Brentford last week - but Collins could be a more attainable target, being dubbed a 'born leader'.

Collins has already played for four clubs, but a chance to reunite with Frank and a small move across London would not be something that Collins would be against - especially with Cristian Romero potentially being on his way out of the club.

It's thought that any deal taking Collins to Tottenham would be dependent on Romero's departure, and Brentford would demand a significant return on investment on the £23million fee they parted ways with two years ago for the Stoke City academy graduate.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Nathan Collins has 29 caps for Ireland, scoring two goals.

Although Brentford will look to keep the bulk of their squad together, Frank could cherry-pick his best stars and, as a result, their resolve may be tested in the summer to land Collins alongside Micky van de Ven, Kevin Danso and more.

Tottenham have reached an agreement with Brentford boss Thomas Frank to become their new manager, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.

The Europa League winners are set to announce the Danish tactician as Ange Postecoglou’s successor, with contract terms and staff appointments now agreed.

Brentford are expected to part ways with Frank for a fee in the region of £10m, as he has two years remaining on a contract that runs until June 2027.

The 51-year-old coach will leave the Bees after guiding them to another top-half Premier League finish last season, their second in the past three years.

Frank is now set to end his seven-year spell with Brentford and take on a new challenge at Spurs, who endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign this season.

The Lilywhites finished just 17th in the table under Postecoglou, losing a worrying 22 games and winning just 11.

A victory in the Europa League final over Manchester United saw Spurs qualify for next season’s Champions League, where the North London club will be playing after a year of absence.

Tottenham were considering their managerial options ever since Postecoglou guided them to victory in Bilbao, and had fellow Premier League coaches Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola on their shortlist.

Frank will now become the fourth permanent Spurs boss in as many years, and his arrival was reportedly highly favoured by technical director Johan Lange.

The pair previously worked together at Danish club Lyngby and are believed to have maintained a close relationship since.

Frank finished 10th in the Premier League with Brentford this season, 18 points above Spurs, who ended the campaign on a seven-game winless streak.

Tottenham Must Sign 'Monster' £60m Striker, He'd Be Thomas Frank's Own Kane - GiveMeSport
Description

It has been a transformative few weeks for Tottenham Hotspur. Despite a dismal Premier League campaign under Ange Postecoglou, losing 22 out of 38 games, the Australian guided Spurs to a Europa League triumph. By beating Manchester United 1-0 in the final, Postecoglou became the first manager to win anything with Spurs in 17 years.

His league form, though, was too poor to be ignored by the club’s ownership. In early June, the club made the decision to dismiss Postecoglou and as such, the Lilywhites are on the search for a new manager. Recent reports have suggested that Tottenham are close to agreeing a contract with Thomas Frank.

Manager of Brentford since 2018, Frank has taken the Bees from being a Championship side to an established Premier League outfit. The Dane, who openly admitted to adjusting his coaching philosophy upon promotion, has continued to surpass expectations with Brentford, who secured a top-half finish last season.

Should Frank move to Spurs, then he will certainly need signings, especially as he would be coaching in the Champions League for the first time. In order to best translate his ideologies into his new squad, there is one particular player that Spurs should target.

Spurs Should Sign Gyokeres

Striker could be ideal for Frank’s system

Since joining Sporting in 2023, Viktor Gyokeres has developed into one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. The Swede has been a lethal goalscorer for Sporting across the last two years, helping them win two league titles in that time whilst captivating the attention of many teams in Europe.

Fichajes have reported that Gyokeres is Tottenham’s “great priority” and while Gyokeres may be somewhat expensive, it is thought that £60 million could be enough for the striker.

Dominic Solanke enjoyed a solid debut season for Spurs, but Frank may feel that a more experienced option, in terms of European football, would be a necessity. At Brentford, strikers were often the players to develop the most under Frank, with examples such as Ollie Watkins, Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane WIssa.

Gyokeres, who has been dubbed a "monster" for his form, has proven that he is a reliable goalscorer and prolific from the penalty spot, with Frank having focused on the importance of dead ball situations with the Bees. Not only that, but Gyokeres, while a seasoned finisher, can also pop up with assists, just as Harry Kane once did for the club. Gyokeres is expected to be on the move this summer and if Spurs can convince him into a move, then it would be an exceptional signing for Frank.

Imagine Him and Frank: Tottenham Must Sign £100m Star Levy's Wanted for Months

Imagine Him and Frank: Tottenham Must Sign £100m Star Levy's Wanted for Months - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur's search for a new manager has seen Brentford boss Thomas Frank linked with the vacancy in north London, after a stellar spell for the Bees saw him register another top-half finish in the Premier League - and he must look to get one major deal over the line if he does take the job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Ange Postecoglou was sacked on Friday after weeks of deliberation by owner Daniel Levy, with the Greek-Australian gaffer given the boot despite winning the Europa League last month - with a 17th-placed finish in the Premier League marking Tottenham's worst-ever placing in the competition since its inception 33 years ago.

Tottenham Could Trust Frank With a Huge Signing

The target perhaps wouldn't have flourished under Postecoglou

A campaign that saw an incredible 22 defeats in 38 league games and just 11 wins had Spurs down as the 'worst of the rest', with the bottom three of Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton only recording 25, 22 and 12 points each. That ruled Tottenham out of any relegation woes, but their form in most other seasons would have seen relegation become a real possibility and as such, they're on the hunt for a new gaffer.

Frank is seemingly the top option, and if he does move to the Champions League outfit, that should see him land a £100million star in Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling - with Tottenham having already had previous interest in the England youth international.

Dibling endured his breakthrough season on the south coast over the past year, a rare shining light in what was otherwise a dull and damning campaign for the Saints. Starring under Russell Martin, the teenager picked up goals and assists as well as winning penalties against big sides such as Manchester United and Liverpool, with his dazzling dribbling, brave nature and ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck, standing out to interested clubs.

Make no mistake, teams such as United, RB Leipzig and Tottenham have all registered their interest before, with Levy having wanted him for the past year - but Frank's arrival would certainly benefit Dibling's career if he was to join Spurs under the Dane.

Frank has moulded various talents into stars in his time at Brentford, with top strikers such as Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney all passing through the club, as well as David Raya and centre-back Ezri Konsa, who are all international stars for their countries.

Dibling Would Thrive Under the Danish Boss

But it's his ability to get wingers firing that will stand Dibling in good stead. Notably, Said Benrahma is one player who left Brentford for the Premier League to join West Ham United, having racked up 25 goal contributions for the Bees in his final year in the Championship. However, the standout performers for Brentford have been Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa over the past year - with an incredible output marking an incredible season in west London.

Mbeumo scored an incredible 20 goals, with a further eight assists in the Premier League alone this time around - whilst Wissa, who has flown slightly more under the radar, still managed an outstanding 19 goals and five assists this season, with a further 12 goals and four assists last time out.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tyler Dibling has made 32 appearances for England's youth teams, scoring five goals.

Those stats speak for themselves, and although Dibling hasn't got the output to match just yet, Frank's track record of signing young forwards and moulding them into world-beaters is seriously impressive.

With the former Chelsea youngster being a long-term target for Levy, Frank's arrival could give the Tottenham owner the green light to splash on a deal for the young England talent, where he would shine in north London and avoid a season in the Championship.

Premier League Club Wants to Appoint Postecoglou After Tottenham Sacking

Premier League Club Wants to Appoint Postecoglou After Tottenham Sacking - GiveMeSport
Description

Recently sacked Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou may already find his way back into management, despite only being given the boot over the weekend - with reports suggesting that one Premier League side are interested in appointing him as boss should an opportunity come to bring him into their ranks.

Postecoglou recorded Tottenham's worst-ever campaign in Premier League history this time around, only mustering 38 points and a 17th-placed finish in the top-flight, a season that included 22 losses and just 11 wins - with only the bottom three of Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton suffering more losses and recording fewer wins than the Lilywhites.

Report: Postecoglou 'a Target' for Another Premier League Club

The Greek-Australian gaffer had a poor campaign but could get a second bite at the cherry

Despite taking European success via a win in the Europa League, ending Tottenham's 17-year wait for silverware, a shambolic domestic campaign meant that Daniel Levy couldn't afford to take a chance for next season amid their backdoor qualification to the Champions League.

That has seen Postecoglou gone, and he is on the managerial scrapheap for the first time in almost eight years after spells at Yokohama F. Marinos, Celtic and Spurs.

However, a report by the Daily Mail states that despite Tottenham sacking Postecoglou on Friday after his poor domestic campaign, an unnamed Premier League club have already made him a target to come into their dugout - with the Greek-Australian gaffer's credentials via a fifth-placed finish last season evidently holding credit in the bank.

Boasting a fast, possession-heavy style of football, Postecoglou's tactics are superb for a team who are expected to dominate the ball and put their opponents under strenuous, tireless work to win the ball back - which we saw in the Scottish Premiership and his first season in north London, where Tottenham were top of the Premier League table after 10 matches with 26 points from 30 games.

However, some tumultuous form saw them struggle to get a hold of the title and even though they entered mid-February with just five losses to their name in the league, and firmly in the top-four race, Spurs finished three points short of Aston Villa in the top-four race.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Ange Postecoglou has won 414 of his 783 games in charge of Tottenham.

But with a superb goalscoring record, Postecoglou could thrive elsewhere - and that could be in the Premier League if he is appointed back to the top-flight by another club.

Harry Redknapp: British Star Was the Best Player in the World ‘Behind Messi & Ronaldo’

Harry Redknapp: British star was the best player in the world 'behind Messi and Ronaldo' - GiveMeSport
Description

While his managerial career never saw him win a Premier League title, Harry Redknapp still had a memorable run in the hot seat and got to work with some of the best footballers to ever play in the English top flight. He managed an array of exciting teams, such as Portsmouth during their heyday in the division and Tottenham Hotspur, guiding the North London club to the top four and Champions League football.

In fact, if it wasn't for Redknapp, Spurs may have never become one of the Premier League's big six. Before he joined, they were languishing near the bottom of the table and he transformed their fortunes. He didn't do it alone, though. The former West Ham United boss worked with some quality footballers during his stint at Tottenham and he even revealed that he thought one of his ex-players was only behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of the best footballers on the planet.

The duo dominated football throughout the late 2000s and 2010s. They're even still operating at a high level now, but during their primes, no one could touch them. The pair were head and shoulders above anyone else, but Redknapp believes that one of his former stars, Gareth Bale, was the next best star in football.

Redknapp Thinks Gareth Bale Was the Best Player Behind Ronaldo and Messi

The duo spent four years together at Tottenham

One year after Tottenham signed Gareth Bale from Southampton, Redknapp took charge as manager of the club and the two embarked on a fruitful tenure together. Under the Englishman's tutelage, the Welsh star became a superstar and his transition from a defensive role to one out on the wing changed everything. He was dazzling under Redknapp and the former Portsmouth manager had some very high praise for him. Speaking to talkSPORT in 2021, when Bale was struggling for confidence on the pitch, the ex-manager said:

"I don't know what the problem is with Gareth at the moment. He’s not the most confident of boys. I know he’s been one of the top players in the world, let’s be honest, there was a spell where, for me, he’d probably been the third-best player around behind Messi and Ronaldo. He was that good when he was at his best.

"But he’s still not a very confident boy. He’s one of those lads who, no matter how great you are, it doesn't change his personality, and he’s a very quiet lad. He needs confidence and he needs somebody to believe in him."

Bale ultimately spent six years with Tottenham before moving to Real Madrid. He returned for a brief spell on loan during the 2020/21 season and across his two stints with the side, he played 237 games and scored 71 goals. He was also named the Premier League Player of the Year during his final season at Spurs in 2013. It's hard to imagine there will be too many fans who disagree with Redknapp's notion that Bale was once the third-best player in the world. He is the greatest Welsh footballer of all time, after all.

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to shortly welcome back Fabio Paratici as their managing director of football, according to BBC Sport - with the Italian's 'worldwide' ban from the game set to come to an end next month after a 30-month suspension.

Paratici had already been at Tottenham in the Antonio Conte era, seeing the club come fourth in the Premier League at the end of his first campaign in the boardroom, though he was forced to resign just under two years later with Tottenham languishing in eighth in the table, one point away from Europa Conference League qualification and 11 from the Champions League. But after serving his ban, the Italian will be set to return to the fore next month and potentially join Thomas Frank, who is closing in on a switch to Tottenham.

Report: Paratici 'in Talks' to Rejoin Tottenham After Two-Year Hiatus

The report by BBC journalist Sami Mokbel states that Tottenham are expected to confirm the departure of chief football officer Scott Munn later in the week, with the Australian set to follow Ange Postecoglou out of the club thanks to an internal reshuffle.

It's deemed a significant change in what is a crucial summer for Tottenham ahead of their Champions League campaign next season - and as another key turning point in their summer plans, the report states that Paratici is in talks over a return to the club once his FIFA ban expires in July.

Paratici was banned from 'worldwide football' for 30 months back in April 2023, after being found guilty of false accounting at Juventus, where he was previously sporting director and managing director of the Italian giants.

With his ban set to expire next month, Spurs' former managing director of football is now in talks to make the switch back to north London, and has been working with Tottenham on a consultancy basis during his suspension - with the process of the Europa League champions re-appointing him thought to be ongoing.

It's believed that there has been interest from the Middle East in 52-year-old Paratici, though it's understood that he is keen to rejoin Tottenham, who he originally moved to in June 2021, following Conte from Italy to London.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Fabio Paratici also spent 11 years at Juventus, from 2010 to 2021.

Paratici was instrumental in the signings of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur in his first season at the club - whilst Pedro Porro, Richarlison, Destiny Udogie and Djed Spence joined in his second year at the club as Tottenham qualified for the Champions League - and he'll be looking to bring in similar profiles over the coming months should he be appointed.

David Ornstein: Tottenham Hope to Reach Thomas Frank Agreement 'In Next 48 Hours' - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to agree a deal to appoint Thomas Frank as their new manager in the next 48 hours, The Athletic's David Ornstein has reported.

Ange Postecoglou was recently relieved of his duties as Spurs boss, despite guiding the north London club to Europa League victory. Spurs beat Manchester United in the final of the competition, but the Australian manager was sacked in early June.

Despite overseeing a trophy win, which has been a rarity for Tottenham in recent years, Postecoglou was always going to be under immense pressure after their performances in the Premier League this season. Losing 22 games in England's top flight, Spurs finished in 17th position.

Tottenham Hope to Agree Frank Deal in Next 48 Hours

Discussions will take place regarding release clause

Ornstein has now confirmed that Tottenham are hoping to agree a deal to appoint Frank in the next 48 hours after making contact with Brentford. There is a healthy relationship between the two clubs, and negotiations will centre around the cost of Frank's release clause, which is expected to be in the region of £10m.

Ornstein also adds that Frank will be bringing his backroom staff with him to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. GIVEMESPORT sources recently confirmed that Frank was quickly eyed as Tottenham's first-choice option, with multiple meetings taking place with the Danish manager before Postecoglou was officially relieved of his duties.

The only stumbling block appears to be Frank's buyout clause, but there does seem to be confidence that the north London club can secure a deal. Frank is keen to join the club and has informed Brentford of his wishes to do so, and it's now time for Daniel Levy and his team to negotiate a fee.

Frank has done a sensational job during his time at Brentford, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League before solidifying the capital club as a top-flight outfit.

Exclusive: Tottenham Agree Terms for One of the Most Expensive PL Managers Ever - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have moved a step closer to announcing Ange Postecoglou's replacement in the dugout as first-choice candidate Thomas Frank has confirmed that he wants to leave Premier League rivals Brentford to take over at Hotspur Way ahead of next season, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Although Spurs ended their 17-year wait for silverware last month, with Brennan Johnson grabbing the winner in the Europa League final against Manchester United, chairman Daniel Levy and other members of the hierarchy decided it was the right time to make an alteration at the helm.

Greek-Australian tactician Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham last week, leading to influential figures behind the scenes looking to identify his successor, and the north Londoners are edging towards handing Frank the managerial reins as they aim to build on adding to the trophy cabinet.

Frank Keen to be Appointed Spurs' Next Boss

Dane held multiple meetings with Levy before Postecoglou left

Frank has verbally agreed terms to become Tottenham's new manager, according to GMS sources, and he has made it clear to current employers Brentford that he wants to leave the Gtech Community Stadium in order to take advantage of the opportunity to replace Postecoglou.

But Spurs will have to put a lucrative compensation package on the table in order to persuade their London neighbours to give the Dane the green light to embark on a fresh challenge in his managerial career as the Bees are demanding £10million after he has been the subject of serious interest.

GMS sources have been informed that Frank was quickly pinpointed as Tottenham's primary option after multiple meetings took place with Levy before Postecoglou was officially relieved of his duties, while he has also proven that he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League thanks to his fruitful reign at Brentford.

The 51-year-old will become one of the most expensive bosses in Premier League history if Spurs opt to meet the financial expectations of Gtech Community Stadium chiefs in the coming days, but an agreement has not been reached at this stage and further negotiations need to take place.

Brentford's insistence to hold out for the entirety of Frank's buyout clause is one of two stumbling blocks remaining for Tottenham, GMS sources have learned, along with discussing the figure it would take to ensure members of his backroom staff follow in his footsteps to north London in preparation for next season.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Thomas Frank has registered 205 victories over the course of 457 matches in management

Frank Boasts Existing Relationship with Lange

Tactician will be handed chance to bring in his own coaching staff

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham technical director Johan Lange is leading the process to appoint Postecoglou's successor and already has an existing relationship with Frank thanks to knowing him from his time at Lyngby, leading to there being a desire to lure him away from Brentford.

Even though the likes of Andoni Iraola have been on Spurs' radar as a potential option, having seen him spearhead Bournemouth to within touching distance of the European qualification places during the 2024/25 campaign, they have decided that they want to raid the Bees as they ready themselves for a season which will include Champions League action.

Postecoglou's assistant coaches Mile Jedinak, Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo have already left Tottenham since his departure, GMS sources understand, resulting in there being an opportunity for Frank to bring in his own staff and guide the north Londoners into a new era.

GMS sources recently revealed that the top managerial target has already given the green light for Spurs to attempt to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace if it becomes clear that members of the recruitment department will be unable to hijack Brentford talisman Bryan Mbeumo's switch to Manchester United.
