Exclusive: 'Outstanding' Star Set for Tottenham Exit Medical in 'Next 48 Hours' - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur winger Mikey Moore is set to undergo a medical at Rangers within the next 48 hours, ahead of a season-long loan move to the Scottish Premiership club.

The 17-year-old - who has been described as 'outstanding' by scout Jacek Kulig - is widely considered one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from Spurs’ academy and enjoyed a genuine breakthrough season in 2024/25, making 19 senior appearances across all competitions.

His rise to first-team involvement has attracted attention from Birmingham City, West Bromwich Albion, Charlton Athletic and Coventry City, but Rangers have emerged as the preferred destination.

Spurs Had Initial Concerns Over Moore's Exit

Productive conversations resulted in U-turn being made

An agreement between Rangers and Tottenham is already in place, with Moore expected to return to north London next summer. Sources have told GIVEMESPORT that Spurs were initially hesitant to let the teenager leave, but after productive conversations involving senior staff at both clubs, all parties agreed that consistent senior football is the right next step.

Rangers manager Russell Martin and technical performance director Dan Purdy played key roles in facilitating the move. Martin has long admired Moore’s profile and sees him as someone who can contribute immediately. He also has a strong track record of developing young players, having overseen Tyler Dibling’s emergence at Southampton.

Moore made headlines in January when he scored his first senior goal for Tottenham in a 3-0 UEFA Europa League win over Swedish side Elfsborg. That result was one of many to lay the foundation for Spurs' successful continental campaign, which ended with them lifting the trophy. It was a major moment for the teenager, who impressed coaches and supporters with his composure on the European stage.

Predominantly a left-winger, Moore is also comfortable playing on the right or through the middle. He is known for his acceleration, close control and movement in the final third. Highly regarded within the England youth set-up, he has represented his country at multiple age levels and continues to be seen as a player with strong international potential.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Mikey Moore was handed 310 minutes of action during Tottenham Hotspur's triumphant 2024/25 Europa League campaign

Son Also Edging Towards Making Departure

North Londoners' captain moves closer to heading to United States

It’s the latest imminent departure from Tottenham after Ben Jacobs and Tom Bogert revealed on GMS that Los Angeles FC are advancing in talks to sign captain Son Heung-min.

In contrast to Son, who is in the final year of his contract, Moore's move to Rangers is temporary and not just about playing time. It is about exposing him to an environment where pressure, expectation and the demand for results will push his development further. An official announcement is expected later this week, pending the successful completion of the medical.

There is no option to buy included in the deal. Tottenham remain fully committed to Moore’s long-term future and view this loan as a key step in preparing him for consistent Premier League involvement. Thomas Frank and his coaching staff are tracking his progress closely and believe Moore has the potential to make a first-team impact in the near future.

The switch represents a positive step for all sides. For Moore, it is a chance to grow in a high-pressure environment. For Rangers, it is the addition of one of English football’s brightest young attacking talents. And for Tottenham, it is an investment in a player they firmly believe can play a major role in their future.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attentions to a deal for Leicester star Bilal El Khannouss after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White, according to TBR Football.

The north London club have had a moderate transfer window so far under new manager Thomas Frank, with Kota Takai and Mohammed Kudus arriving to bolster the squad, while they also thought they had a deal sealed for Nottingham Forest playmaker Gibbs-White.

However, despite initially agreeing a move to Spurs, a legal challenge from Forest put the deal in limbo, and the player has now signed a contract extension at the City Ground to bring the saga to an end, leaving Tottenham eyeing alternative options instead.

Tottenham Want to Sign El Khannouss

Expected to leave after relegation

El Khannouss, who has been described as a 'magician' by scout Jacek Kulig, enjoyed a fine maiden season in the Premier League with Leicester City and was one of the standout performers for the Foxes despite their relegation to the Championship.

Those performances have seen him attract the attention of several clubs and now Spurs have entered the race for the Moroccan following their disappointment in the chase fro Gibbs-White.

The 21-year-old is expected to leave the King Power Stadium and it's understood he is available for around £25m, which is well within the budget in north London.

But Frank will have to see off stiff competition from the likes of Newcastle United, while Sky Sports have also reported that Crystal Palace are eyeing the forward as their top option to replace Eberechi Eze should he leave Selhurst Park this summer..

Spurs are also looking at a number of other deals with midfield being seen as a priority, as Portugal international Joao Palhinha has emerged as a top target, while GMS understands that captain Heung-Min Son is advancing on a permanent move to LA FC.

Description

Birmingham City were interested in landing Rangers-bound Mikey Moore from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur - but cooled their interest as their recent influx of players headed into St Andrew’s.

The ambitious Second City club - and rivals West Bromwich Albion - were both under consideration as the potential next steps in the Spurs starlet’s development path.

But, as the summer progressed, Birmingham's recruitment chiefs realised that they could not guarantee the prodigious 17-year-old game time.

Blues Initially Showed Interest in Moore Deal

Davies considered raiding former employers before making U-turn

Boss Chris Davies did not want to sully his reputation with his former club and Birmingham stepped back from chasing Moore. The tactician, who worked as No.2 to Ange Postecoglou before trying his luck in the hot seat at St Andrew’s, wants to keep the door open to future deals with the north London club.

He didn’t want to push hard for the teenager - who has been described as 'outstanding' by scout Jacek Kulig - and then not be able to deliver with minutes on the pitch.

Twelve months ago, Davies was under enormous pressure to lift the American-owned club back into the Championship at the first time of asking. Birmingham used up one of their loans from Premier League clubs as they took Luke Harris from Fulham.

The midfielder did make 10 starts as the Blues carried all before them during their record-breaking League One campaign. But the Cottagers would have been hoping the 20-year-old would have had more exposure - potentially of the kind that new loan club Oxford United will provide.

Birmingham did not want to make promises - either to the player or the club - that they could not keep.

Description

Tottenham are preparing a £45m bid to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, journalist Sebastien Vidal has claimed.

The Europa League winners are reportedly readying an approach for the Portuguese international and have already held talks with Bayern over a potential deal this summer.

Spurs are believed to have identified Palhinha as their next midfield target following the Morgan Gibbs-White blow, and are ready to step up their interest with an initial bid.

Palhinha, who joined Bayern from Fulham last summer, is under contract with the Bavarians until June 2028.

Tottenham Keen on Joao Palhinha

Readying an approach for the 30-year-old midfielder

According to Vidal, Tottenham are ready to move for Palhinha after initial talks with Bayern, with a bid worth £45m now being prepared:

Palhinha endured an injury-hit first season at Bayern, during which he made just nine starts across all competitions, along with a further 15 appearances off the bench.

He also struggled to break into Vincent Kompany’s starting XI at the Club World Cup, where he made just one appearance, in the 1-0 loss to Benfica.

Palhinha, who earns around £200,000 per week at Bayern, would bring proven Premier League experience to North London this summer, having made 68 top-flight appearances during his time with Fulham.

He spent two seasons at Craven Cottage before his departure last summer and was named Fulham’s Player of the Season for 2022/23.

Forget Gibbs-White: Tottenham in Talks to Sign 'Exceptional' No.10 - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have already shown plenty of ambition since Thomas Frank was announced as Ange Postecoglou's successor in the Hotspur Way dugout, but the north Londoners' hopes of adding to the trophy cabinet will improve if they convince James McAtee to join from Manchester City.

Spurs have been forced to accept defeat in their attempts to lure Morgan Gibbs-White to the capital, with him signing a new contract at Nottingham Forest despite being the subject of a £60million bid from last season's Europa League winners, resulting in the recruitment department having to go back to the drawing board.

Mohammed Kudus has made the big-money switch to Tottenham since the transfer window reopened, completing a £55million move from West Ham United, but Frank needs to put pressure on chairman Daniel Levy and technical director Johan Lange to splash the cash on McAtee as preparations are made for the upcoming campaign.

Spurs Enter Discussions Over McAtee Swoop

North Londoners exploring move for England under-21 international

Tottenham have been holding talks over a move for McAtee after they were snubbed by Gibbs-White, according to TBR Football, and he would be an exciting addition to a squad already brimming with attacking quality as Frank aims to continue making his mark ahead of his first season at the helm.

Although the 22-year-old has been described as 'exceptional' by journalist Ryan Taylor, he has still struggled to work his way into the forefront of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola's plans since coming through the Etihad Stadium ranks, presenting Spurs with a golden opportunity to pounce.

McAtee played a crucial role in his current employers reaching the FA Cup final last term, thanks to finding the back of the net three times in four outings, and Tottenham are aware that they will have no issues meeting his wage demands as he is on a contract worth £15,000-per-week at this stage.

Spurs were threatened with legal action when they attempted to land Gibbs-White, with Nottingham Forest being adamant there had been an unlawful approach and a breach of confidentiality due to his release clause being triggered, but raiding Manchester City could prove to be the better option.

McAtee is still in the early stages of his career, meaning there is plenty of time for Frank to get the best out of him, and he would be a cheaper alternative to Tottenham's initial first-choice No.10 target as Manchester City have shown a willingness to sanction his departure for £35million ahead of the September 1 deadline.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: James McAtee registered four shots and grabbed an assist as the England under-21 side overcame Germany in the European Championships final last month

McAtee Hands Frank a Major Boost in Pursuit

Attacking midfielder has desire to remain in Premier League

Tottenham have been handed a significant boost in their pursuit of winning the race for McAtee's signature as he has snubbed advances from Bundesliga trio Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen - along with admirers in Italy - due to his desire to prove his worth in the Premier League.

Spurs need to profit from the situation, despite turning Mathys Tel's initial loan switch from Bayern Munich into a permanent agreement worth £30million, as the England under-21 international is a major upgrade and would bring additional creativity to a side preparing to compete in the Champions League.

Tottenham ended their 17-year wait for silverware by beating domestic counterparts Manchester United in the Europa League final two months ago, but snapping up McAtee would result in them regularly challenging for honours in the coming years as he has shown serious promise.

GMS sources recently revealed that Spurs were keeping tabs on the former Sheffield United loanee's situation in the final weeks of last season, having been alerted to the fact that he was poised to be put on the market, and Frank will forget about missing out on Gibbs-White if he can get the deal over the line.

Description

Manchester United are planning to keep Kobbie Mainoo at Old Trafford and give him the opportunity to work his way into the forefront of head coach Ruben Amorim's plans instead of cashing in after Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been showing interest, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

The Red Devils have not been afraid to spend big since the transfer window reopened, leading to Bryan Mbeumo completing a switch worth up to £71million from domestic counterparts Brentford after Matheus Cunha had already become an expensive acquisition thanks to an agreement being reached with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Although academy graduate Marcus Rashford made a high-profile departure last week, joining reigning La Liga champions Barcelona on an initial loan deal which includes a £26million option to buy, Manchester United do not want Mainoo to become another member of the squad to head through the exit door.

Red Devils Seek to Keep Spurs Target Mainoo

England international aiming to prove worth during pre-season

Manchester United are not looking to sell Mainoo after he has been the subject of informal enquiries from Tottenham, according to GMS sources, and he has been aiming to use the early stages of pre-season to show that he deserves to be handed a prominent role by Amorim rather than seeking to embark on a fresh challenge.

The central midfielder has entered the final two years of a contract which allows him to pocket £25,000-per-week and has been unable to agree fresh terms at this stage, resulting in Spurs sniffing an opportunity to pounce, but Old Trafford chiefs have stopped short of looking to sanction his departure.

GMS sources have been informed that Manchester United have not been actively seeking a buyer for Mainoo, who made 37 appearances in all competitions last term, and he is desperate to prove his worth as he bids to ensure he bags a place in England's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated within the dressing room, while he has also been described as 'special' by Red Devils icon Paul Scholes, and he was included in the starting line-up as his boyhood club got their United States tour underway with a narrow victory over West Ham United last weekend.

Tottenham have been hoping that Manchester United would be tempted to entertain offers for Mainoo, GMS sources have learned, leading to the north Londoners attempting to work out what would be deemed an acceptable proposal as new boss Thomas Frank aims to bolster the options he inherited from predecessor Ange Postecoglou.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Kobbie Mainoo won two ground duels and made one key pass during Manchester United's Premier League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in September

Mainoo Pinpointed as Gibbs-White Alternative

Midfielder's versatility leads to admiration from north London

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham upped the ante in their pursuit of Mainoo after it became clear that they will miss out on signing Nottingham Forest talisman Morgan Gibbs-White, but they are set for further frustration as Manchester United are not seeking to do business even though it is not a given that he will be a regular starter under Amorim.

Although the Red Devils made it clear that it would take a bid in the region of £70million to make them consider selling their academy graduate midway through last season, it is intended that he will still be in his current surroundings by the time the summer transfer window slams shut on September 1.

Tottenham are firm admirers of Mainoo because of his ability to play in an advanced role as well as having the quality to be deployed in defensive midfield, GMS sources understand, while they were confident they had spotted a market opportunity to secure an up-and-coming talent who could be added to their homegrown quota.

But Manchester United are aiming to retain their fan favourite, which comes after GMS sources recently revealed that he held positive discussions over his future with Amorim and influential figures behind the scenes are still determined to convince him to agree an improved contract at Old Trafford.

Description

Los Angeles FC are advancing in talks to sign Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min, GIVEMESPORT understands. The South Korea international has one year left on his Tottenham contract, but Spurs are willing to sanction an exit this summer.

Son is currently a part of Tottenham's pre-season tour of Asia and contractually obligated to play in a friendly against Newcastle United on August 3 in South Korea. If Spurs sell Son prior to this game, they stand to lose a large portion of commercial revenue. Sources don't expect anything officially to happen before then.

Once Son returns to London, talks will take place with Thomas Frank over his role and minutes this season. Spurs are content to keep Son and let him leave on a free transfer, but won't stand in his way should the 33-year-old decide he wants a fresh challenge now.

Son joined Spurs in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen and has gone on to make 454 appearances, scoring 173 goals.

Although last season proved disappointing for Spurs in the Premier League, Son lifted his first ever club trophy as Tottenham beat Manchester United to win the Europa League, and in doing so qualified for the Champions League.

LAFC believe a transfer is possible towards the end of the summer window, and are now close to agreeing terms with Son.

LAFC face competition from Saudi Arabia for Son, with dealmakers pursuing him since 2023 and yet to give up hope of pulling off a transfer either. Saudi sources believe Son will leave Spurs this summer are are prepared to pay $40 million, with add-ons, to secure his signature.

Son is a popular figure in the Spurs dressing room and highly-valued on and off the field, which is why Tottenham will allow him freedom to go now or stay an extra 12 months.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are 'working on' an alternative for Morgan Gibbs-White, after the England international signed a new contract at Nottingham Forest, according to Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.

Spurs made a move to secure the signature of Gibbs-White earlier in the summer transfer window, activating his release clause. Unfortunately for the north London club, Forest made a legal complaint due to the nature of their approach, and subsequently, a move fell through, with Gibbs-White signing a new deal with The Tricky Trees on Saturday.

A move to sign Gibbs-White would now appear to be dead in the water, considering he has signed a new contract, at least for this summer. As a result, we could see Spurs make a move to sign another attacking midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham 'Working On' Gibbs-White Alternative

They are no names just yet

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has discussed the prospect of Tottenham signing an alternative to Gibbs-White in the summer window. The respected reporter confirms that Spurs are working on it at the moment, but he hasn't mentioned any possible names who could arrive through the door.

"They're working on it [alternative targets for Gibbs-White. As soon as I know, I will tell you."

Reports have suggested that Tottenham have recently held talks over signing a new attacking midfielder over the last few weeks. James McAtee is said to be an option from Manchester City, while they've also spoken to RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons over a possible move, according to reports.

GIVEMESPORT sources recently confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo has been discussed by the north London club. Manchester United haven't given any indication that he could head through the exit door this summer, but Spurs have reached out to try and discover the potential conditions of a deal.

Tottenham Eyeing Move to Sign £416,000-a-Week Forward, Asking Price Revealed - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a move to bring Aleksandar Mitrovic back to the Premier League, according to CaughtOffside.

Ange Postecoglou, last season, became the man to finally end Tottenham’s trophy drought, which spanned 17 years, by winning the Europa League. Emerging triumphant from the competition ensured Spurs’ place in next season’s Champions League as, in the Premier League, Spurs struggled.

The Lilywhites lost 22 games from 38 played, being spared the blushes of a relegation battle solely due to the poor form of the three sides that faced the drop. This was the leading reason for Postecoglou’s eventual dismissal, with the North London side appointing Thomas Frank, formerly of Brentford, as his replacement.

Spurs have already been active in the transfer market, signing Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United and being linked to other incomings. The club reportedly met the release clause of Morgan Gibbs-White, but the number 10 has since signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest. Now, it appears that Spurs want to strengthen their number nine options.

Mitrovic to Spurs?

Asking price of striker revealed

CaughtOffside have reported that Aleksandar Mitrovic, who earns £416,000 per week, is of interest to Tottenham, who view Mitrovic as “an alternative to Dominic Solanke.” The former Bournemouth striker enjoyed a solid debut season with Spurs, but Richarlison struggled for form and Heung-Min Son has been linked with a move to America.

In Mitrovic, not only would Spurs be signing a proven goalscorer, but one who is no stranger to English football. After a tumultuous tenure with Newcastle United, Mitrovic joined Fulham in 2018 where, across five years, he established himself as a reliable scorer in the Premier League and Championship.

At 30 years old, Mitrovic is in his prime as a player and would reportedly be available for around £26 million. At such a price, the Serbian international could prove to be a brilliant addition for Spurs.

Exclusive: Tottenham Make Contact to Sign 'Elite' Star After Gibbs-White Snub - GiveMeSport
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made contact over the potential signing of Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, with his contract situation unresolved, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

Mainoo burst onto the scene at Manchester United, making his Premier League debut against Everton, producing a performance that undoubtedly excited supporters. During the 2024/2025 campaign, Mainoo struggled to nail down a guaranteed starting spot in Ruben Amorim's side, and he's now being linked with a departure.

Tottenham have heavily focused their recruitment on signing young talent from around the world in recent years, and Mainoo would certainly fit into the profile of player they've been targeting. It's a big year approaching for Mainoo, particularly with an international tournament around the corner, so he might have some important decisions to make.

They are moving on from Gibbs-White

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Tottenham are moving on from Morgan Gibbs-White, who recently signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest despite interest from Spurs. The north London club love the versatility of Manchester United midfielder Mainoo, and they've made some informal enquiries about a potential move to see how difficult a deal will be.

Tottenham have been keeping an eye on Mainoo's contract situation for some time now, and because it is unresolved, they have initiated contact over a possible move. Mainoo, described as an 'elite talent' by Jacek Kulig, has been working hard in pre-season to try and push himself into Amorim's plans, and he looks sharp. The Manchester club have not been seeking a buyer for him this summer, despite him not having an obvious place in the United side.

Mainoo Could Play in Multiple Roles for Tottenham

Spurs hoped Man Utd will cash in

GIVEMESPORT sources have confirmed that Tottenham hope Manchester United will be tempted to cash in on Mainoo at the right number, so they have been trying to work out what sort of fee it would take to prise him away. Spurs love the market opportunity that currently exists around him as a young English player that is currently on a low contract and has clear ambitions to be a Premier League regular.

It's a big year for Mainoo ahead, as he has to prove himself to Thomas Tuchel with the World Cup just around the corner, so this is a huge moment in his career. Mainoo could play as an advanced midfielder or in a more defensive role, so his versatility is valued by Tottenham.
