Description

Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in Antoine Semenyo, but Spurs fans will not like what the winger has previously said about his dream club.

Several outlets have reported that Semenyo is on Tottenham’s radar ahead of January, which comes as an exciting update, given the form that the winger has been in this season.

The Ghana international has already managed six goals and three assists in seven matches so far, and unsurprisingly, the Lilywhites are not the only ones interested.

According to some reports, Spurs will have to battle Man United and Liverpool for Semenyo in the upcoming transfer window.

Antoine Semenyo dreams of playing for Tottenham’s rivals

Recently, The Independent’s Miguel Delaney even claimed that Tottenham have moved to pole position in the race to land the Bournemouth star, which is certainly exciting news for Spurs fans.

However, Tottenham Hotspur supporters will not like to hear what Semenyo said about his dream destination a year ago, with the winger admitting that he grew up supporting Arsenal.

Speaking to The Athletic in October of 2024, the 25-year-old said: “I am an Arsenal fan, I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life, and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen, I need to prove it.”

Spurs may now have the financial muscle to land Semenyo

According to various sources, Semenyo is valued by the Cherries at around £75m-£80m, which would mean that Thomas Frank’s men would have to shatter their transfer record to land the winger.

However, the North Londoners may not have the financial muscle to land the Cherries star after ENIC injected £100m equity into Tottenham earlier this week.

Finance expert makes Harry Kane prediction Tottenham Hotspur fans may not like - Spurs Web
Description

Football finance expert Stefan Borsen has made a claim about Harry Kane’s recent comments, which will not make Tottenham fans too happy.

Kane’s release clause drops to just £57m next summer, and it is no secret that Tottenham would like to have their record goalscorer back.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago, Thomas Frank himself said that he would love to have Kane back at Spurs if the striker wants to return to N17.

Those comments piqued a lot of interest as Frank broke his usual protocol of not discussing players who are not at Tottenham, with the Dane clearly opening the door for the 33-year-old’s arrival in North London.

Last week, the striker finally broke his silence on the transfer speculation by revealing what he is thinking about the future.

Kane said that he can see himself staying at Bayern Munich for longer, and revealed that the desire to return to the Premier League is not as strong as it once was.

Stefan Borsen believes that these comments from the England captain are intended as a green light for Bayern to begin contract talks with the prolific centre-forward.

MORE SPURS STORIES

When asked about the possibility of Kane returning to Spurs next summer, Borsen told Football Insider: “It’s probably more unlikely than it seemed a few weeks ago when we had Thomas Frank publicly admitting he would love Harry Kane to come back to the club.

“Harry Kane, he’s come out now and said he’s ready to commit his long-term future to Bayern Munich. He is ready to sit down and discuss a contract extension at the Allianz Arena.

“As you said, he’s got two years, just under two years to run on his contract, although there is a release clause in there which activates next summer which would take it down from £67million to around £56m, which would be a bargain.

“But I think Bayern Munich are now ready to try and take away the possibility of that release clause of losing him and offering him a new long-term deal. Look, how do you replace somebody like that? That’s probably what Bayern Munich are thinking because it ain’t going to be cheap to try and replace Harry Kane because he has guaranteed goals for Bayern Munich as well.

“With Harry Kane declaring that he’s happy in Germany and happy at Bayern Munich, it does really open up the door for Bayern to try and sit down and discuss a fresh deal with Harry Kane to try and pledge his long-term future to the club.

“So a lot of signs seem to point in that Kane’s happy with Bayern and Bayern are obviously happy with Harry Kane as well. If it can come to an agreement, I think it could be a win-win for all parties if he agrees a new contract.”

Why Kane’s return to Spurs is reliant on immediate developments

Another thing working against Tottenham in their quest to bring the striker back is the specific conditions of his release clause.

According to reports from Germany, Kane would have to inform Bayern of his decision to leave by the end of January in order for the striker’s £57m clause to become active next summer.

Description

One Tottenham youngster had to wait for a long time to get an opportunity for his national side despite growing calls for him to play, but he is looking at the situation philosophically.

Lucas Bergvall continues to be hailed as a future superstar at Tottenham, and he is quickly becoming the toast of everyone at Spurs.

It will be difficult for Tottenham Hotspur fans to believe that the attacking midfielder is hardly getting a look for the Sweden national side despite his outstanding performances at club level.

A former Djugardens official recently demanded that Bergvall be given an opportunity for Sweden, pointing out that the youngster cannot do any more than he is for a top Premier League side.

Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall reacts to lack of international minutes

Amidst the growing calls for the youngster to play, Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson finally handed the 19-year-old a start in the World Cup qualifier against Switzerland on Friday.

It was the Spurs man’s first start for his country since November of last year, but things did not go according to plan for the Scandinavian country, who lost 2-0 at home.

Unfortunately, Bergvall also missed an open goal during the match, amidst a defeat that serves as a blow to Sweden’s World Cup qualification hopes.

Ahead of the game, the teenager was asked about his lack of minutes at the international level, and he responded to Goteborgs-Posten (as relayed by Sport Witness): “There are incredibly good players who perform week in and week out in the top leagues, then it is always up to Jon who plays, but there are incredibly good players. Sometimes you play, sometimes you don’t play.”

Bergvall hailed for his attitude amidst Sweden snub

Former Sweden international Anders Andersson has spoken about the way the Tottenham man has handled having to wait nearly 12 months between his fourth and fifth international caps.

The pundit applauded the attacking midfielder for not sulking and continuing to show the right attitude despite being hard done by.

Andersson is quoted as saying: “I have to give Lucas Bergvall an applause because I think he handled it perfectly. I think Bergvall deserves all the praise, especially now that he didn’t get to play a single minute. I didn’t see much negativity from him about it.

“It’s good that you don’t try to spread the negative mood yourself, but that you take it internally. It’s sad for the journalists, but it’s very good for the group.”

Why ENIC mystery could still throw up a Tottenham ownership twist in the future

Why ENIC mystery could still throw up a Tottenham ownership twist in the future - Spurs Web
Description

Football finance expert Adam Williams is convinced that Tottenham Hotspur are still for sale despite the Lewis family’s hardline stance, and has suggested that investment came into the club indirectly, away from the gaze of the media.

The Lewis family have rejected three separate expressions of interest in buying Tottenham, reiterating their stance that the club is not for sale.

ENIC have also ended their relationship with Rothschild & Co, who were previously hired by Daniel Levy to find sources of external investment into the club.

More recently, Tottenham’s majority owners have injected £100m of equity into the club, with these moves seen by many as evidence that they are not thinking about selling their asset immediately.

Investment could arrive into Tottenham indirectly

Adam Williams is not convinced that the Lewis family’s recent moves are confirmation that the club is not for sale, suggesting that it may instead be a negotiating tactic intended to push the price up.

He also suggested that, rather than buying directly into Spurs, investors could buy into ENIC, with the Bahamas-based company not subject to the UK Takeover Code.

Williams told TBR Football: “Ultimately, only the Lewis family and their financial advisors know for sure whether they are interested in selling Spurs. However, the mood music is that they are still very much open to investment, if not a full sale.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“They have parted company with Rothschild & Co – who have helped them look for investors over the last two years. They say that is proof they aren’t for sale now, but equally it could also be a tactic to help drive up the price.

“Also, there are some suggestions that, if an investment does come, it could be at the ENIC level rather than directly in Tottenham Hotspur themselves.

“Because ENIC are registered in the Bahamas, where financial reporting requirements are virtually non-existent, we don’t know if ENIC itself could have retained Rothschild. We basically don’t know anything about the company, and they are not subject to the UK Takeover Code, so the Lewis family aren’t required to document any bids for equity at that level.”

Price named for ENIC to change their stance on selling Spurs

Some sources have claimed over recent days that ENIC may value Tottenham at a much higher figure than the reported £4.5 billion.

Williams is convinced that the North London club’s majority owners will sell if a bid reaches the magic £5 billion mark.

He added: “As an aside, if they haven’t been looking for investment for some time, it would have made sense to dump Rothschild ages ago given that some of these firms charge £50,000 to £100,000 per month as a retainer.

“My instinct is that Spurs are still for sale but the Lewis family have extended their timeline ahead of an eventual exit. Whatever Levy was doing to drum up interest in an investment wasn’t working, so they’re reorganising the club and going for something different.

“They have always been for sale at the right price; it’s a matter of how you get that price. If someone came and offered them £5bn tomorrow, I’ve no doubt that they would take it.”

Tottenham signal interest in exciting 17-year-old starlet but Real Betis want him too - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a young South American starlet who is yet to make his professional debut.

Tottenham showed with their acquisition of Alejo Veliz two years ago that they are keeping an eye on the best young emerging talent from South America.

While the move may not have worked out for the Argentine youngster, that has seemingly not deterred the North London club. Over recent weeks, we have heard that Tottenham have scouted Brazilian forward Rayan Vitor, who is impressing for Vasco da Gama.

It has now emerged that the Lilywhites hold an interest in another Brazilian teenager who is expected to do big things over the coming years.

Tottenham have signalled interest in Athletico Paranaense starlet

According to a report in Itatiaia Esporte, Spurs are keeping an eye on Athletico Paranaense’s highly-rated academy youngster Bruninho.

The midfielder is yet to break into the Brazilian side’s first-team, but he is impressing in youth football, and this has been noticed by Tottenham.

The report says that the Premier League side have already signalled their interest in the 17-year-old, but they are not the only ones to do so.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Real Betis and Zenit Saint Petersburg are also fans of Bruninho, who can only make a move to Europe during next summer’s transfer window after he turns 18.

Athletico Paranaense’s plans for Spurs target Bruninho

Itatiaia Esporte say that Athletico see the midfielder as one of their most valuable assets, with the teenager already training regularly with the senior squad.

The midfielder is expected to make his professional debut before the end of their league campaign this year.

Bruninho renewed his contract with the club at the end of September, and it is suggested that he could be open to a transfer to Europe next year if he continues developing the way he is at the moment.

Tottenham fans react to claims Thomas Frank could sign ‘baller’ Brentford player - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to fresh claims that Thomas Frank could look to bring one of his old Brentford players to N17.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Brentford’s Kevin Schade, with the club still keen on strengthening their wide area.

Thomas Frank’s side were heavily linked with a move for Manchester City’s Savinho last summer, but a deal for the Brazilian winger did not materialise, with City insisting Savio was not for sale.

Spurs, however, are said to be monitoring Schade’s development closely, with the club understood to be considering a move in the summer of 2026.

Spurs fans have not held back with their reaction to the latest reports, with many supporters saying the same thing about the Brentford man. Several Lilywhites supporters believe that the club should bring Schade to north London.

One fan said: “bring asap he’s a baller.” Another added: “Solid player and undoubtedly an upgrade on what we have at this point in time, decent transfer if we can get him around £30m I reckon.”

A third wrote: “Went to Brentford to watch him play against Man United. Electric player that day.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another fan stated: “Great player.” One kept it short: “If Frank wants him, that’s good enough for me.”

Not every fan was convinced though, with one saying: “He wants to make us a mid-table club.” Another commented: “Not another Brennan Johnson,” while one more added: “Hell nah.”

Spurs boosted by fresh £100m cash injection

Tottenham received a major boost just yesterday ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with the Lewis family injecting £100 million into the club.

While not all of it is expected to go towards transfer activity, it does mean that Tottenham now have some funds to work with.

James Maddison sets his favourite Tottenham player Pape Sarr a goal target for this season

Description

Tottenham are flying high under Thomas Frank, but amid injuries to key men, James Maddison has set Pape Sarr a lofty challenge for the season.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a strong start to the new season under Thomas Frank, with the Dane currently guiding Spurs to a spot in the top three in the league.

It, however, has not been entirely rosy for the new boss, who has often seen his side struggle with creativity and, at times, goal-scoring.

It does not come as a major surprise, with some of Spurs’ top scorers from last season currently sidelined, as James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski remain injured, and Heung-min Son has now made the move to the MLS.

James Maddison sets Tottenham challenge for Pape Matar Sarr

Other players need to step up in the absence of these stars, and Maddison has recognised this, urging one of his teammates to take on more responsibility.

During a conversation on Maddison’s YouTube channel, the midfielder shared his admiration for Pape Matar Sarr and challenged him to improve his goal return at Tottenham this season.

“You’re my favourite player in the group at the minute. You look sharp,” said Maddison. “You look good. It makes me feel better when you play like you did the other night [against PSG]. I think you can get 15 goals this season. I want you to. Promise. 15 goals and I’ll get you a gift.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Sarr replied: “Yeah, I’ll do it for you.”

Can Sarr actually score 15 goals this season?

Pape Sarr has started the season in decent fashion, already grabbing a goal and two Tottenham assists in the Premier League.

The midfielder is still a fair way away from 15, but Sarr is definitely one who can step up and improve his output, as he is a box-to-box midfielder capable of influencing games in both halves.

However, Sarr has never reached 15 goals in a single season, as he has managed 15 goals throughout his entire career.

Last season, the Senegalese managed six in all competitions, and he should be aiming to at least beat his output from the last campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall endured a frustrating moment on international duty as Sweden’s hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup suffered another setback.

The 2026 World Cup finals are just a few months away, and qualification battles are beginning to heat up as nations across the world fight for their place at the tournament.

Several Tottenham Hotspur players are away representing their countries during this international break, with more than 30 members of Thomas Frank’s squad on duty across the globe.

Frank, however, will be hoping that the majority of his key players return fit, as Spurs look to continue their strong start to the season with momentum building in both domestic and European competitions.

Lucas Bergvall misses golden chance for Sweden against Switzerland

Lucas Bergvall earned a senior call-up this month and travelled to join the Swedish national team for their latest World Cup qualifier.

Sweden faced Switzerland in what proved to be a crucial tie for Bergvall’s side, as their qualification hopes hung in the balance.

The Tottenham youngster had a golden opportunity to give his side the lead when Alexander Isak sent a superb cross across the face of the goal, but Bergvall failed to convert from close range.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 19-year-old could not get the ball out from under his feet and saw his effort go begging, leaving Sweden to head into the break goalless.

Watch Bergvall’s miss here:

Sweden’s World Cup hopes under threat after defeat to Switzerland

Switzerland eventually went on to seal victory, beating Sweden 2-0 and maintaining their third consecutive clean sheet in qualifying.

For Sweden, the result leaves them bottom of their group with just one point from a possible nine, meaning their path to the 2026 World Cup now looks increasingly difficult.

Their qualification hopes now rest on the remaining fixtures, with Switzerland currently occupying the automatic qualification spots and Sweden in desperate need of a turnaround to keep their World Cup dreams alive.

Everything you need to know about Tottenham’s behind-closed-door friendly vs Watford - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham took to the pitch in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Watford during the international break, with several familiar faces involved as the squad looked to maintain match sharpness at Hotspur Way.

Several Tottenham Hotspur players are currently away on international duty with their respective countries, as the race for a place in the 2026 World Cup finals heats up.

However, not everyone has jetted off across the continent, with a number of players remaining at Hotspur Way after missing out on international call-ups.

It was revealed yesterday that Spurs had organised a behind-closed-doors friendly with Championship side Watford, giving some of those who stayed behind an opportunity to get valuable minutes into their legs.

Tottenham fall to Watford in behind-closed-doors friendly

Tottenham mostly fielded a young side in their friendly encounter, but three first-team players also featured in the tie against the Hornets.

Javi Gracia has returned to the dugout for Watford, and it was his side who came out on top, securing a 2-1 victory over Tottenham.

While the result itself holds little weight, the outing allowed Randal Kolo Muani to gain some much-needed minutes, with the French forward making his return from a dead leg.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham’s third-choice goalkeeper Brandon Austin and striker Dane Scarlett, who has been involved with the Under-21s, were also given run-outs for the Lilywhites.

Randal Kolo Muani gains valuable minutes ahead of Spurs return

It is certainly a major boost for Kolo Muani, the loan signing who arrived on deadline day but has managed just 13 minutes of football all season, with that appearance coming in the Champions League against Villarreal.

He got a much-needed 45 minutes under his belt in this behind-closed-doors clash, which will be seen as a positive step as he works his way back to full fitness.

Tottenham have a little over a week before their next league fixture, and with Muani finally back on the grass, there is growing belief that he could make the bench for Spurs’ next Premier League outing.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur international representatives are making their mark during the break, with Mathys Tel and Wilson Odobert both impressing.

The second international break of the 2025/26 season is already in full swing, and several Tottenham Hotspur players are showing their quality away from N17.

Djed Spence recently earned his first start for the England senior squad, delivering an assured performance in a dominant display from the Three Lions that left the English media full of praise for the 25-year-old.

Now, two other Tottenham stars have caught the eye for their national sides during the break, continuing the club’s strong presence across the international stage.

Tottenham’s Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel score for France U21

Wilson Odobert and Mathys Tel both featured for the France Under-21 team this week and delivered standout performances.

The pair each found the back of the net in France’s clash against the Faroe Islands Under-21s, contributing to a convincing win.

Odobert opened the scoring in the 13th minute before Tel converted from the spot to make it three in the 38th minute.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Odobert later grabbed his brace with France’s fourth of the evening, before Methalie and Bouaddi rounded off the scoring.

It was a commanding showing from the young French side, and both Tottenham players played their part in a fluid attacking display.

Thomas Frank will be pleased with Spurs duo

Thomas Frank will no doubt be delighted to see two of his young Tottenham players getting on the scoresheet while on international duty.

Tel has endured a slow start to the season, though he opened his account in Spurs’ recent win over Leeds United, and now he has followed that up with another goal, making it two in two for the young Frenchman. That return should give his confidence a timely boost heading back into club football.

Odobert has also begun to see more minutes under Frank, but he is yet to record a goal involvement this season.
