Description

Reports linking Yang Min-hyeok with a shock move to Real Madrid have been played down, with fresh information suggesting a different path lies ahead for the Tottenham winger in January.

Earlier today, we reported that Real Madrid were showing interest in Tottenham Hotspur youngster Yang Min-hyeok.

The 19-year-old is currently out on loan in the Championship with Portsmouth, where he has scored two goals and registered an assist.

It was claimed that Yang’s potential is what caught the eye of the Spanish giants, although it remained unclear if a move was set to materialise in the winter window.

Real Madrid move unlikely for Tottenham’s Yang Min-hyeok

A fresh report from Football Asian has now emerged to pour cold water on the claims that originated from Spain yesterday.

According to the Asian outlet, it is believed that a move to Real Madrid for Yang Min-hyeok is highly unlikely at this stage.

However, it is claimed that a change of loan clubs in January is very much on the cards for the Spurs winger, who is reportedly not short of suitors.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The teenager has managed just 643 minutes of action in the Championship, where he is yet to play a full ninety-minute match since his summer move.

Spurs set to make Yang Min-hyeok loan decision in January

It is believed that a move to another Championship side remains an option, as Yang could be recalled and re-loaned to a stronger, higher-ranked side.

Interest from mainland Europe is also present, with Bundesliga and Ligue 1 clubs monitoring the situation, while Tottenham Hotspur could potentially recall him to the first-team squad if the need arises.

The report goes on to explain that the speculation regarding the player’s future is not about hype but rather finding the right environment, and January could well define his next step.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have made plans to improve the atmosphere at an upcoming home match, but it is an idea which has failed in the past.

Tottenham Hotspur are known to have a good following, and their fans usually make themselves heard when the club are playing away from home.

However, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium possesses one of the worst atmospheres in the Premier League, a problem which has persisted since the ground first opened in 2019.

Spurs have created singing sections in the past in a bid to generate more noise, but these have largely been unsuccessful due to half-hearted efforts from the club.

Tottenham return to singing section concept for Aston Villa fixture

Spurs are set to take on Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup, and there has already been a statement of intent by the club to improve the atmosphere. The category pricing has been scrapped ahead of the match, and it will cost an adult just £30 to attend.

As well as this, Tottenham and the Fan Advisory Board will trial another singing section in the South Stand, if operationally possible. The club will liaise with FAB member Jonny Tindal, who founded the Return of the Shelf initiative in hopes of improving the atmosphere on matchdays.

Season ticket holders who wish to join the singing section can request to be moved to the South Lower area and can purchase any seats which have not been taken up by those who are usually situated there.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs must continue working with supporters

The only way the atmosphere at Tottenham is going to improve is by collaboration between the club and their fans.

Those who wish to be vocal during matches need to be able to stand together, or else creating an atmosphere becomes almost impossible.

It is good to see Spurs are revisiting the singing section concept, and this must become a priority going forward to ensure the players feel the support from the stands.

Tottenham put major money-making development on pause despite 2028 deadline - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have long held plans to build a hotel next to their stadium, but work has yet to commence on the ambitious project.

Well over six years have passed since the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was opened, but the project as a whole remains a work in progress.

Spurs were expected to secure a naming rights deal, which would see the ground given a new title, but this has not come to fruition.

On top of this, Tottenham had plans for a hotel by the stadium approved last year. However, construction on the 30-storey tower block has not even started.

The Tottenham Hotel project has continued to be paused

Earlier this year it was reported that Spurs submitted a new planning application, this time for four residential towers behind the iconic South Stand.

According to the minutes from the recent Fan Advisory Board meeting, the printworks student accommodation is now underway. However, all other property projects are under review.

As for the hotel development, work is yet to commence, with the project remaining on pause for the time being.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs are in no hurry to complete their stadium development

Tottenham want to have all the buildings surrounding their stadium completed in time for Euro 2028, which leaves them with two and a half years to get the job done.

This is still a considerable amount of time, and so the fact that work has not yet started on the hotel is not really a cause for concern. Besides, Spurs supporters would probably prefer that there is a greater focus on the footballing operation of the club after a string of poor results.

Chelsea overtake Tottenham in race for Premier League midfielder who wants to be ‘freed’

Chelsea overtake Tottenham in race for Premier League midfielder who wants to be ‘freed’ - Spurs Web
Description

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are both ahead of Tottenham in the queue to sign a highly-rated Manchester United player in January.

Thomas Frank is not content with his midfield, at least that is what the evidence suggests. The Tottenham Hotspur manager has repeatedly changed his starting lineup this season, particularly switching things up in the middle of the pitch.

With January fast approaching, rumours have been swirling about which midfielders have caught the interest of Spurs, and one name to have been mentioned is Kobbie Mainoo.

The Manchester United star is unhappy with his lack of minutes this season, and one report has stated that Mainoo wants to remain in the Premier League.

Tottenham have fallen behind in the race for Kobbie Mainoo

Mainoo is looking to secure an imminent move in order to boost his World Cup chances, but Caught Offside report that it is Bayern Munich and Chelsea who lead the race for his signature.

The 20-year-old is prioritising where he can be a guaranteed starter, and this has increased the likelihood of a move to Napoli. Of course, this is the team where Scott McTominay has enjoyed so much success since departing Old Trafford.

Spurs are still in a 12-club race to sign Mainoo, but they will have to come up with a special form of persuasion to fend off the likes of Bayern and Chelsea.

MORE SPURS STORIES

This all comes after the Man United player’s brother was spotted wearing a ‘free Kobbie Mainoo’ t-shirt at Old Trafford last week, where the midfielder was benched once again.

Spurs already have a young midfield

Tottenham have two teenage midfielders in Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, while Pape Matar Sarr is still only 23 years old. There is also Xavi Simons, who will not celebrate his 23rd birthday until April next year.

Mainoo would therefore match the profile of the midfield players Spurs have often opted to sign in recent transfer windows. However, it is a little surprising that Tottenham want to bring yet another youngster to the club when Frank appears to have more trust in his senior players.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha have been given a lot of starts for Spurs, while the younger players have been in and out of the first team. This could concern Mainoo, because there is no guarantee he will be a regular starter if he moves to North London.

Description

Pep Guardiola has issued a firm stance on the future of a highly-rated Manchester City player, effectively ruling out a January move despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have often struggled to reach agreements when it comes to purchasing players from one another.

A few summers ago, City showed keen interest in then-Spurs talisman Harry Kane and were desperate to bring him to the Etihad Stadium, but the two sides failed to agree on a deal as Daniel Levy proved a tough nut to crack.

Kane has since moved to Bayern Munich while City secured the services of Erling Haaland, but relations remained tricky last summer when the Citizens proved stubborn, refusing to part ways with Savinho despite interest from Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola rules out James Trafford exit amid interest from Tottenham

Spurs have once more shown interest in a City player, with James Trafford one name on their radar as Tottenham look to sign a top-class goalkeeper.

Trafford has barely received any game time since Pep Guardiola’s side secured the services of Gianluigi Donnarumma in the summer window, a situation which has led to speculation regarding the future of one of England’s brightest goalkeeping prospects.

Guardiola has now killed that speculation, confirming that the Englishman will not be leaving the Etihad in the winter window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“James Trafford stays in January,” Guardiola said. “He’s staying with us this season, absolutely.”

Guglielmo Vicario’s howlers force Spurs goalkeeper haunt

Tottenham’s goalkeeping position has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks in the wake of a series of high-profile mistakes from Guglielmo Vicario.

Serious questions are being asked of the 29-year-old, whose errors continue to cost his side in crucial games; against Fulham, Vicario’s decision-making gifted the opposition a goal, while he made two further errors leading to goals against Nottingham Forest a few weeks later.

Tottenham defender Pedro Porro gets slammed live on air for his post-match apology - Spurs Web
Description

Pedro Porro has come under heavy fire from Martin O’Neill for his decision to issue a public apology to Tottenham supporters following the club’s recent defeat.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are no strangers to receiving apologies from their players, especially in the aftermath of demoralising defeats.

Last season, there was a whole catalogue of apologies given how poor Spurs were, having lost 22 games in the Premier League during a dismal campaign.

The defeat to Nottingham Forest at the weekend brought about a similar response, with Pedro Porro sending a message of apology to the Tottenham faithful during his post-match interview.

Martin O’Neill slams Pedro Porro apology after Tottenham defeat

This is not the first time such an address has been made by a Spurs player, with Guglielmo Vicario previously issuing one after Tottenham’s defeat to Fulham.

Following Pedro Porro’s apology to the supporters, former Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill had a few choice words for the Tottenham full-back while speaking on talkSPORT, accusing him of simply trying to curry favour with the crowd.

“That’s a total ingratiation to the fans of himself to the fans that’s what that is,” O’Neill said. I’ll tell you something now, I can imagine these things existing sometimes when Brian Clough [was managing].

MORE SPURS STORIES

“And I have been hopeless in a game and he has just told me I’ve been hopeless in a match and then me going outside and going on social media and saying the fans deserve better than that.

“No, they deserve better from your performances (Porro) mate and you get a grip of yourself. I hope he’s including himself in that group of players who didn’t play so well…players, they’ll do your brain in!”

Simon Jordan questions modern player culture

Porro’s comments have also not gone down well with Simon Jordan, who was alongside O’Neill in the studio.

The former Crystal Palace owner discussed the wider phenomenon of social media communications and suggested that the right-back’s apology is merely a symptom of the society football has created.

“We’ve got the society we’ve created,” Jordan said. Are we objecting to the fact that they say in a press conference or a post-match interview to some gurning reporter from the BBC or Sky News or doing it on social media?

“What is the problem? We want people to turn around and speak to them. If they turn around and say nothing the media will criticise them for saying nothing.

“If they turn around and not acknowledge the fans I mean what is this all about going over and applauding fans?

“What is this all about winning individual games and taking a team photograph? What is this all about walking onto a pitch and shaking the opposition’s hand before a game? What is all that about?

“It’s a modern construct of how football should be played and it’s part of the culture we’ve created so we can’t criticise it.

“We’ve told players they are highly worthwhile individuals that are very important in what they say. So when they say what they say, we criticise them for it.”

Jordan continued by addressing the reaction to poor performances directly, arguing that players cannot pick and choose when they accept feedback from the stands.

“What he said the other day about the Spurs fans I thought was wrong. Because he turned around and said I’m not having it.

“Who are you to say that? The reason why you got booed is because you were crap. You don’t hear anybody say, I’m not having that praise …you don’t hear that do you. That’s my issue with it.

“We’ve created a culture and a society where people are expected to apologise and when they don’t they are castigated.”

Real Madrid target shock £6.1m move for Tottenham Hotspur rising star - Spurs Web
Description

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a surprise approach for a Tottenham Hotspur youngster currently plying his trade in the Championship.

Tottenham Hotspur have a number of their young talents out on loan as they look to gather much-needed first-team experience ahead of a return to north London.

A few of these prospects have already started to catch the eye of Europe’s elite, with Luka Vuskovic one such player attracting attention.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig have all expressed interest in signing the Croatian defender, although Spurs remain determined to keep him at the club.

Real Madrid eye Tottenham’s Yang Min-hyeok

Defensa Central has now claimed that another Tottenham Hotspur loanee, Yang Min-hyeok, is attracting interest from a side in Europe.

It is believed that Real Madrid has closely watched the South Korean international and is interested in signing him due to his immense potential.

It is suggested that the Spanish giants are ready to make a £6.1m (€7m) offer to Spurs for the winger, although the report is unclear as to whether they will make a move in the upcoming January window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Yang Min-hyeok needs game time to reach full potential

Yang Min-hyeok is on a six-year deal at Tottenham following his move from Gangwon FC in January, and he is yet to make a start under new manager Thomas Frank.

The forward has been loaned twice since joining Spurs, moving to Queens Park Rangers during the winter window before embarking on a full-season loan with Portsmouth, where he has scored two goals and registered one assist.

A link to Real Madrid sounds rather unrealistic, given how the La Liga champions have struggled to hand out game time to a few of their stars, including Endrick and Rodrygo.

Yang is only 19, and at this stage of his career, he needs constant game time, which is something he will likely not receive at the Bernabeu, given their array of top stars.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been alerted to the potential availability of a rising Ligue 1 midfielder, though the club are expected to face stiff competition from Premier League rivals in the January transfer window.

The January transfer window is expected to be a busy period for Tottenham Hotspur as the club aims to strengthen their squad for the second half of the campaign.

The Tottenham board have reportedly made under-pressure manager Thomas Frank a promise that he will be backed in the winter market, despite ongoing speculation regarding his future at the club.

Frank requires reinforcements in several areas of the pitch, given the recent struggles of the team, but fresh reports have now claimed that Tottenham are specifically eyeing a defensive midfielder to bolster their engine room.

Tottenham join race for Mamadou Sangare ahead of winter window

According to TeamTalk, Tottenham are reported to be among a host of clubs aiming to sign Mamadou Sangare from Lens in the January transfer window.

However, the north London side is expected to face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester United, who are also monitoring the player’s situation.

Sangare has caught the eye of several Premier League sides who have watched him in recent weeks, having made 14 starts and one substitute appearance for Lens in Ligue 1 so far this season, contributing one goal and one assist in the process.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Mali international will be heading out for the Africa Cup of Nations, where he will meet up with Yves Bissouma, and it is claimed that there is an expectation that Premier League clubs may formalise their interest once the tournament concludes on 18 January.

Yves Bissouma’s uncertainty drives Sangare transfer plans

Sangare, 23, could quite easily become a replacement for Bissouma, whose future at Tottenham remains uncertain following significant off-field issues.

Bissouma was seen inhaling laughing gas at a party for the second time in his Spurs career, and the club are reported to be open to parting ways with the midfielder following the incident.

Holding midfielders are rare and command significant fees, meaning that if Spurs are to land Sangare, they will likely have to pay considerably more than the £6.6m (€8m) Lens paid to sign him from Rapid Wien.

Description

Thomas Frank is not racking up enough points at Tottenham Hotspur and the club are already making plans for his potential departure.

Thomas Frank is still fairly new to Tottenham Hotspur and some have called for him to be given more time in order to change the club’s fortunes this season.

Frank himself believes he will be afforded time by Spurs, because he has claimed that sorting out the problems in the team is not a quick fix.

Although the Dane appears to have the support of the Tottenham board, some members are not convinced by Frank, which means his job is still far from safe.

Tottenham are looking at managers who could replace Thomas Frank

Some senior figures at Spurs fear the season could spiral out of control in a similar fashion to Ange Postecoglou’s final Premier League campaign, if their results do not improve.

With this in mind, Tottenham are lining up possible replacements for Frank and according to Caught Offside, Mauricio Pochettino is the club’s top candidate.

However, FA Cup winner Oliver Glasner and Fulham’s Marco Silva are also on their radar, with both bosses impressing at their respective teams.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Frank needs to stop making excuses about Spurs

The Tottenham first-team squad is not as strong as it has been in recent years, but a considerable amount of money was spent in the summer. Frank was backed with players like Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus, who have improved the team.

He should be doing a better job with the players at his disposal and instead of making excuses about needing more time, there has to be a focus on getting results immediately.

Real Madrid think they can sign one of Tottenham’s best players for just £41.5m - Spurs Web
Description

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a shock approach for a key Tottenham Hotspur star, with the Spanish giants hoping to capitalise on the defender’s situation in the January window.

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a rebuild, which could very much commence in the January transfer window as results on the pitch continue to falter.

While the club will be targeting key additions, with Thomas Frank already identifying the profiles he wishes to recruit, they must also ensure they retain their most influential assets.

Micky van de Ven, who has impressed significantly this season, is now reported to be attracting interest with the winter market fast approaching.

Micky van de Ven emerges as number one target for Real Madrid in January

This report comes from E-Noticies, who are now reporting that Real Madrid have identified Van de Ven as their number one transfer target for January.

Madrid believe that should the Dutchman agitate for a move, there is a chance he could be purchased for just £41.5m (€50m), a figure Tottenham would surely laugh out of town.

Los Blancos’ interest in Van de Ven stems from the injury crisis that has ravaged their backline, with Eder Militao the latest casualty, compelling them to weigh up whether to bring their plans to sign a new centre-back forward from the summer.

MORE SPURS STORIES

While Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is also on their list, the Tottenham man is viewed as their preferred option.

Spurs must secure van de Ven’s future amid interest from Real Madrid

Spurs will not want to lose Van de Ven, given how vital he is to their success on the pitch, an importance that has only grown as he has proven able to maintain his fitness.

He remains an asset in both boxes, with his pace essential in defending transitions, while he poses a constant threat with his aerial ability from set-pieces.

If Tottenham wish to keep the 24-year-old at the club, however, they must be proactive; Van de Ven is currently on reported wages of £50,000 a week, a figure which is quite low given his standing in the side.
