Description

The Tottenham players have been training at Hotspur Way on Monday morning ahead of their Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague.

The mood in North London has improved following Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Richarlison and a first for Xavi Simons proved to be enough to Spurs just their fourth league victory of the calendar year.

The Tottenham players were back on the pitch at the training ground this morning to continue their preparations for the visit of their Czech opponents.

Thomas Frank’s side need to secure a victory over Slavia Prague to improve on their current tally of eight points from their first five matches if they are to push for automatic Champions League qualification to the next round.

Tottenham players prepare for Slavia Prague

Destiny Udogie picked up an injury at Newcastle, forcing him to sit out the Brentford victory and did not participate in the session.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Mathys Tel trained, however the Frenchman is unable to play in the Champions League having been left out of the squad.

Brennan Johnson was not available for Tottenham’s 5-3 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain as a result of his one-match suspension and did not partipate in the session.

Spurs fans were left concerned after Randal Kolo Muani was seen limping shortly after the Brentford fixture, however, the Frenchman was fit enough to take his place on the training pitch.

Among the players seen being put through their paces by the Tottenham coaching staff were:

Kota Takai, Ben Davies, Radu Dragusin, Xavi Simons, Randal Kolo Muani, Mathys Tel and Dane Scarlett.

Following the match against Slavia Prague, Tottenham round off their Champions League fixtures in the league phase at home to Borussia Dortmund along with a trip to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Slavia Prague as Thomas Frank makes 3 changes for Champions League - Spurs Web
Description

Spurs will be aiming for a victory when Slavia Prague come to visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night, and we have now attempted to predict the Dane’s Tottenham XI to take on the Czech side.

Tottenham Hotspur have three Champions League games remaining to play as they aim to advance to the round of 16 in the competition.

Spurs currently find themselves in 16th place, two points off eighth, and they take on Slavia Prague, who are in 31st place with three points, in matchday six of the league phase.

A victory is crucial for Tottenham on Tuesday night if they are to give themselves a chance of making it into the automatic qualification places.

Heung-min Son will be present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as he returns to bid farewell to the Tottenham faithful, and everyone on the pitch will be aiming to give him a proper send-off with a victory.

We have now attempted to predict his starting XI for Tuesday’s encounter.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Slavia Prague

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: The Italian managed a clean sheet last time out against Brentford and did the basics right, and he should continue between the sticks here.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Right-back – Pedro Porro: A much-improved performance from Porro on Saturday, with the full back finding a good balance with overlapping while creating from deep, and he could be a threat once more on Tuesday.

Centre-back – Cristian Romero: No goals last time out against Brentford, but he was part of the Tottenham backline that kept their first clean sheet since October, and we expect Frank to stick with his captain during the midweek.

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: He was immense against the Bees, making recovery tackles while sticking close to Igor Thiago, and he should keep his spot once more.

Left-back – Djed Spence: Udogie is currently carrying a knock and is a doubt for Tuesday, so that should make it back-to-back starts for Spence.

Pivot midfielder – Joao Palhinha: The Portuguese was rested against Brentford with Rodrigo Bentancur featuring as one of the pivots, but we expect Frank to rest the Uruguayan for Palhinha.

Pivot midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: It could be a fresh pivot pairing with Archie Gray, also dropping to the bench after his standout display against Brentford, and that should give way for Bergvall.

Centre midfielder – Xavi Simons: The Dutchman put on quite a show in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford by grabbing a goal and an assist, and with Slavia Prague visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he will be looking to build on that display.

Right winger – Mohammed Kudus: The wide man is more or less a nailed-on starter, and we expect that he will continue on the right in this tie.

Striker – Randal Kolo Muani: The Frenchman was taken off early against Brentford with Frank perhaps having this fixture in mind. Richarlison could be rested, and Muani will lead the line.

Watch Tottenham's Luka Vuskovic score a screamer that could challenge for the Puskas award - Spurs Web
Description

Luka Vuskovic has produced a moment of real quality that will excite Tottenham supporters, as the teenager grabbed his second goal of the season in style.

Tottenham Hotspur will be closely monitoring the progress of their on-loan stars, including Luka Vuskovic.

The 18-year-old has been making a mark in the German top flight with top performances for newly promoted Hamburg, which has pushed him into the spotlight far earlier than many expected.

Vuskovic’s top displays saw him secure back-to-back Bundesliga Player of the Month awards while also earning him a debut with the Croatia national side this season.

Tottenham’s Luka Vuskovic scores superb goal against Werder Bremen

The centre-back has an eye for goal, having scored seven last term with Westerlo, and this season he has managed two, with the second an absolute beauty.

This came in Hamburg’s recent outing against Werder Bremen with Vuskovic grabbing the newly promoted side’s second of the night to put them in front.

His strike came following a set-piece delivery that saw him come up with an improvised scorpion kick finish, placing the ball well away from Werder Bremen’s shot stopper Nagata, who was rooted to the spot.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Watch goal below:

Spurs see rising potential in Luka Vuskovic

Vuskovic’s top displays have caught the attention of several other clubs, including Hamburg and Borussia Dortmund, who have shown interest in signing the Tottenham defender.

Spurs, however, are understood to be reluctant to sell the Croatian who made it into the WhoScored Team of the Year.

The 18-year-old could be an ace for Tottenham in the future under Thomas Frank, given his goal threat in the opposition box.

This season, we have seen Micky van de Ven’s output increase under the Dane, same with Cristian Romero, with both centre-backs now proving to be lethal in the opposition box.

If Spurs were to add Vuskovic into the mix, that would only increase their goal threat from set pieces.

Huge boost for Tottenham in pursuit of transfer-record deal for Carlos Baleba - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a big boost in their rumoured pursuit of one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League.

Spurs Web has relayed several reports over recent weeks stating that Tottenham are contemplating adding a central midfielder to their squad in January.

It has also been claimed by a few sources that Spurs want to make a statement by signing in January to signal their ambition.

One Brighton man, who came close to joining Man United in the summer, is thought to be in Tottenham’s sights.

Brighton slash asking price for Tottenham target Carlos Baleba

A few days ago, CaughtOffside claimed Tottenham may pounce on Brighton’s Carlos Baleba in January, who is no longer a priority for Man United as he was in the summer.

Subsequently, it emerged that Spurs would have to pay £100m for the Brighton man, which could be a sticking point for the North London club.

However, a new report in TEAMtalk has now alleged that the Seagulls have slashed their asking price for Baleba ahead of the January window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet claims that Brighton are now willing to sell the midfielder for £75m and that they have already identified Aston Villa’s Lamare Bogarde as a potential replacement for the Cameroon international.

Should Spurs break their transfer record on Baleba?

While the £75m asking price is a significant drop from the previously quoted £100m, it would still comfortably shatter Tottenham’s transfer record fee of £65m they paid to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth 18 months ago.

Baleba’s form has fallen down a cliff since his failed move to Old Trafford in the summer, which may be why Brighton have dropped their price.

Tottenham scout winger with 12 goals and assists this season, summer deal more likely - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been impressed by the development of a 22-year-old left-winger this season, but there may be one roadblock in completing a January deal.

Numerous reliable sources have reported over the past few months that signing a top-class left-winger will be Tottenham’s top priority in January.

That now appears even more likely after Thomas Frank recently hinted that none of his left-wing options have particularly impressed this season.

It has now emerged that a young wide-man, who is turning a lot of heads in Belgian football, has caught the North London club’s eye.

Tottenham plotting move for Anderlecht winger Nilson Angulo

According to TEAMtalk, Anderlecht’s Nilson Angulo is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, ahead of the January window.

The 22-year-old has been one of the best players on show in the Jupiler Pro League this season, and has four goals and eight assists to his name across all competitions.

This has attracted the attention of several big clubs, with Spurs being one of the clubs to have sent scouts to Brussels multiple times to run the rule over Angulo.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, Manchester United, Brentford, Brighton and Leeds United are also looking closely at the Ecuador international.

Why Spurs may struggle to complete a January deal for Angulo

However, TEAMtalk say that signing the Andrelect man in the mid-season transfer window may be hard for Tottenham and his other Premier League suitors.

This is because Angulo wants to carry his current run of form into the World Cup next summer, and a January transfer might interrupt his progress.

As a result, the wide-man is more likely to leave the Belgian club at the end of this season.

Tottenham urged to correct past mistake by signing 25-year-old amid £30m price tag - Spurs Web
Description

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes that a long-term Spurs target will be on the move in January, and he has urged the Lilywhites to complete a deal for the player.

According to reports, discussions are ongoing at Spurs about adding another central midfielder to their squad in January.

This comes amidst reports that Yves Bissouma could be on his way out of the North London club in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed by some sources that Tottenham are willing to spend big on Conor Gallagher, who has fallen out of favour at Atletico Madrid.

Former Tottenham scout expects Conor Gallagher to be available

It turns out that the Lilywhites may not even have to spend big on the former Chelsea man, with reports over recent weeks indicating that Atletico Madrid are willing to sell the Spurs target for under £30m in January.

Bryan King believes that Thomas Frank’s men should be all over that deal, suggesting that they made a mistake by not securing Gallagher when he left Chelsea for the Spanish capital.

When asked about the speculation over Gallagher’s future, the former Spurs scout told Tottenham News: “He’s been told by Atletico that he’s not part of their plans. Spurs should have signed him when he left Chelsea, that was their biggest mistake. If he becomes available either on loan or on a permanent deal, he would certainly do well.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“By the time they get him in, there’s a fair chance that [James] Maddison will be back, and I think when they’ve played for England together over the years, they’ve always done well.

“That kind of quality, you’ve got to be looking for. I think he would jump at coming back because of next year’s World Cup. I think he’ll come back on loan, a similar deal to Jack Grealish at Everton, but I would pay £30m for him, if Atletico would agree to that.”

Spurs will face competition for Gallagher

Gallagher has admitted that he is not happy with his game time at Atletico, thus adding more fuel to the speculation over his future.

However, Tottenham will not have a free run at the England international, who is also on the radar of other Premier League sides.
