West Ham 0-3 Tottenham Match Report, Lucas Bergvall shines and Xavi Simons makes debut - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a dominant 3-0 win at West Ham, as Pape Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and Micky van de Ven struck in a quickfire 17-minute spell after the break.

After three consecutive 1-1 draws in East London and two defeats before that, Tottenham finally celebrated victory at the London Stadium for the first time since 2019, a match which also happened to mark Jose Mourinho’s debut in charge of Spurs.

This was a much-needed response from Thomas Frank’s men following the dismal 1-0 loss at home to Bournemouth before the international break, and it could hardly have been more contrasting. The Lilywhites also regained their place at the top of the Premier League table, trailing only Arsenal on goal difference.

With one eye on the midweek Champions League tie against Villarreal, Frank rotated his squad. Richarlison, Rodrigo Bentancur and Brennan Johnson all dropped out. Xavi Simons made his first start in white on the left, Bergvall stepped in for the Uruguayan, and Mathys Tel, who is unavailable for Europe, led the line. PSG loanee Randal Kolo Muani was named on the bench but went unused.

First half: West Ham 0-0 Tottenham

Tottenham carved out the first opening from an unlikely source, with Bergvall’s long throw causing chaos in the West Ham box before Mohammed Kudus saw an effort blocked. The Ghanaian, loudly booed with every touch, remained calm and went on to become one of Spurs’ best players on the night.

The hosts soon found their rhythm, though. Jarrod Bowen slipped Fernandes in behind, and his ball found Lucas Paqueta, who turned goalwards but dragged wide from close range.

Tottenham thought they had the breakthrough when Cristian Romero powered in a header from Kudus’ corner, only for Jarred Gillett to bizarrely rule it out for a supposed foul by Van de Ven on Kyle Walker-Peters. VAR was supposed to overturn the decision, but rather upheld the call, to the fury of players and fans alike.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Minutes later, Spurs were again left furious when Fernandes hauled Van de Ven down in the box at another Kudus delivery, but once more the referee waved play on.

At the interval, it remained goalless, with West Ham registering two shots for an xG of 0.27 compared to Spurs’ five efforts for a marginally higher xG of 0.29.

Second half: West Ham 0-3 Tottenham

West Ham began the second half brightly, Bowen flashing a low shot wide, but it took Spurs less than two minutes to take the lead.

From their ninth corner of the evening, debutant Xavi Simons delivered to the far post, where Sarr ghosted in unmarked to thump a header past Hermansen.

West Ham looked to respond straight after the restart, with Bowen forcing a low save from Vicario, but their momentum quickly faded when Tomas Soucek was shown a straight red card for raking his studs down Joao Palhinha’s shin. For once, Gillett got a big decision spot on.

From the resulting free-kick, Spurs doubled their lead. Romero picked out Bergvall with a slick ball over the top, and the teenager raced onto it before looping a header over Hermansen from distance to score his first Premier League goal.

Just minutes later, the visitors killed the game. Bergvall, this time turned provider, dribbled into the box before slipping the ball to Van de Ven. The Dutch defender met it first time, shooting low into the bottom corner to send West Ham supporters towards the exits.

Tottenham, with an extra man, pushed for more. Kudus came close on several occasions, firing over and seeing efforts blocked, before forcing Hermansen into a fine late save with a fierce first-time strike in stoppage time.

FT: WEST HAM 0-3 TOTTENHAM

Spurs Web Man of the Match: Lucas Bergvall

What’s next for Spurs and Thomas Frank?

This was a decent performance by Tottenham. The defenders were determined to keep their clean sheet, Frank’s midfield changes paid off perfectly, and set pieces looked dangerous all evening.

Lucas Bergvall was unquestionably the best player on the pitch, marking his first Premier League goal with an assist and an all-around masterclass. Van de Ven and Kudus weren’t far behind in terms of impact, and they will second the Swede for the man of the match award.

Thomas Frank reveals what the Lewis family told him about Tottenham backing - Spurs Web
Description

Thomas Frank has shed light on his early conversations with the Lewis family and Tottenham’s new board members, offering an insight into the sweeping changes that have reshaped the club’s leadership.

Tottenham Hotspur made what looks to be the final change at board level earlier this month, when they announced that long-serving chairman Daniel Levy had departed from the club.

Levy had spent close to 25 years at the helm of Tottenham, overseeing the day-to-day running of the north London side, but that long stint has now come to an end.

Peter Charrington has been appointed as the non-executive chairman of the club, while Vinai Venkatesham has taken the role of chief executive officer.

These sweeping changes have all taken place barely three months into Frank’s reign, marking a new chapter at Tottenham both on and off the pitch.

Thomas Frank speaks on Lewis family and Tottenham board changes

Speaking to Football.London, Thomas Frank explained that he has already been in close dialogue with both the Lewis family and Peter Charrington, and he emphasised the positive tone of those conversations.

Reports in recent weeks have claimed that the Lewis family are looking to make a significant investment in the club, instead of selling it.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Frank speaking about the Lewis family and the new non-executive chairman, Peter Charrington, said, “I have spoken to a few from the Lewis family and Peter Charrington, the new non-executive chairman.

“I also spoke to him before, of course he was on the board. So there have been good, constructive conversations and I feel the backing and they are happy.

“I think it is fair to say things have gone quite quickly, so I am also quite convinced that in the next couple of months I will be more aware of the future plans. Hopefully, we will make them together. I think that is the best way to do it. Everything I sense, I feel and I have been told is positivity and backing.”

Frank outlines expectations for Spurs future strategy

Frank also highlighted the importance of transparency and alignment across all levels of the club, stressing that a clear strategy is crucial for long-term success.

“It is very important to be transparent and to be clear, what are we dealing with, what is the ambition, can we adjust expectations, are we on the same page, what is the strategy, are we aligned, that is absolutely crucial,” he said.

“That was pretty clear since I have been appointed and through the transfer window, what are the targets, how did we want to do things, so that has been good and I expect it to be good.

“In what direction are we working, are we aligned, what kind of strategy are we following so that should be absolutely clear,” Frank concluded.

Description

James Maddison has not held back in his criticism of the referee and VAR after Spurs had a goal controversially chalked off in their clash with West Ham United.

Only Liverpool has made the perfect start to the Premier League season, with the Reds winning all three of their opening fixtures and setting the pace at the top of the table.

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham side, meanwhile, has not enjoyed such a flawless beginning, having suffered a defeat against Bournemouth in matchweek three, though they remain determined to get back on track in matchweek four against West Ham United.

The London derby brought fresh changes from Frank, who handed new signing Xavi Simons his first start in a Tottenham shirt, while Mathys Tel was also given his first start of the season as he replaced Richarlison in the line-up.

James Maddison blasts VAR after Tottenham goal ruled out

Tottenham began the game brightly and thought they had broken the deadlock when former West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus whipped in a dangerous inswinging delivery that was met by captain Cristian Romero, who headed home what looked set to be Spurs’ opening goal of the season.

The celebrations were cut short as referee Jarred Gillett blew for a foul, before VAR had a second look and upheld the decision, ruling that Micky van de Ven had pushed West Ham full-back Kyle Walker-Peters in the build-up.

James Maddison, who is still working his way back from the ACL injury that disrupted his pre-season, wasted little time in voicing his frustration at what he saw as an overly harsh decision.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Taking to X, the midfielder wrote: “Honestly the referees & VAR have had an absolute shocker of a start to the season. If that goal is disallowed for a foul you will never ever see a corner be taken without referee blowing for something ever again”.

Spurs push to stay in the race for top four

Spurs are looking to keep pace with the rest of the league, with results elsewhere turning the pressure up as rivals collect points.

Arsenal secured a win over Nottingham Forest, while Bournemouth also picked up three points, pushing Tottenham Hotspur further from the top four places and raising the stakes for Frank and his players.

Thomas Frank reveals what pleased him most in Tottenham’s 3-0 win against West Ham - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur bounced back with a 3-0 victory over West Ham United on Saturday evening in convincing fashion.

Spurs were left licking their wounds into the international break after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth saw their unbeaten start to the new Premier League campaign come to an end.

Tottenham headed to the London Stadium without a win on West Ham turf since 2019, when Jose Mourinho led his side to a 3-2 win.

Thomas Frank made changes to his side with Mathys Tel and Lucas Bergvall coming into the starting eleven with the Dane possibly having one eye on Tuesday’s Champions League curtain raiser against Villarreal.

Tottenham were dominant against West Ham United

Tottenham were certainly hard done by when they thought they had scored the opener 20 minutes into the match when Cristian Romero headed home from Mohammed Kudus’ corner.

The joy was short-lived when referee Jarred Gillett immediately blew his whistle having adjudged Micky van de Ven to have pushed Kyle Walker-Peters, with VAR failing to overturn the soft decision.

Second half goals from Pape Matar Sarr, Lucas Bergvall and van de Ven rounded off a comfortable win over the Hammers leaving Thomas Frank delighted with the display of his players.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Tottenham boss believed his side were clear winners and highlighted the importance of his coaching staff focusing on set pieces, something which has drasticaly improved since the Dane succeeded Ange Postecoglou.

He told Sky Sports: “It was a clear, deserved win. I think the first 20 minutes were more even. West Ham had a few crosses flashed across the box, but after that we dominated clearly.

“I’m happy that we continued that in the second half. We scored a great first goal and an even better second goal.

“We’re focusing on set pieces. It’s an important area to be good at. You need to be important in all areas and today we thought we had a chance there.”

“I felt we were brave and wanted to get on the ball. I thought we were aggressive too. That’s the foundation to try and win a football match.”

Lucas Bergvall took his opportunity with both hands

With Frank deciding to start Bergvall in place of Rodrigo Bentancur, who had experienced a lengthy commute from international duty with Uruguay, it proved to be a shrewd move.

Bergvall was impressive against West Ham and scored a well-deserved goal to double Tottenham’s lead, with his headed effort being the first time he has found the back of the net in the Premier League.

Five things we learned from Tottenham’s 3-0 win over West Ham United

Five things we learned from Tottenham’s 3-0 win over West Ham United - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur cruised to a 3-0 victory over rivals West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday evening, making it nine points from a possible 12 so far this season.

Let’s take a look at the five things we learned from West Ham 0-3 Tottenham:

Xavi Simons gets an assist on Tottenham debut

Tottenham Hotspur fans were treated to a Xavi Simons full debut at the first time of asking this evening, with Thomas Frank throwing the new man straight in at the deep end. However, after all the talk about Spurs signing a new number 10 over the summer, Xavi actually started as a left-winger, with Pape Sarr and Lucas Bergvall starting as a pair of number eights.

While the Dutch international did have a few bright moments, cutting inside with the ball at his feet, it does look as though he will need a few weeks to get up to speed with the relentless pace of the Premier League. Having said that, Xavi walks away from his Spurs debut with an assist to his name after he curled a beauty of a corner onto the head of Sarr at the back post to open the scoring.

We would expect to see Xavi eventually settle into a more conventional number ten role, with the likes of Brennan Johnson, Mathys Tel, and Wilson Odobert playing wide left.

Tottenham Hotspur from corners

Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham were criticised for looking too vulnerable from corners. Under Thomas Frank, the script has been flipped. Guglielmo Vicario knows only too well how difficult it can be for a keeper to defend his box while being pushed and shoved by man-mountain centre-backs. Tottenham are simply dishing out what they have eaten up for the past 12 months.

With Romero and Van de Ven both crowding out the keeper, it allows Kudus and co to float menacing crosses deep into the box without fear of them being easily claimed. Tottenham nodded one home through Romero himself, which was wrongly disallowed, before Sarr got on the end of another at the back post. Combined with the long throws and wicked crossing from Pedro Porro, Spurs could be a real danger from set plays this season.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Cristian Romero is loving life as captain

Talking of Romero, the Argentine is taking to life as captain like a duck to water! The armband seems to have calmed him down and focused him even more this season. I have never seen him so vocal at the back, constantly ordering his defenders around in pursuit of that all-important clean sheet. Four games down and the Lilywhites have conceded just one single goal, despite playing away to both Man City and West Ham already.

Not only is the defensive side of his game looking impeccable, but Romero is fast-becoming one of Tottenham’s chief creators. Forget about his goal today (I still have no idea how that was ruled out). Just look at his assist for Bergvall’s goal! It reminded me of prime Toby Alderweireld seeking out Dele Alli with a long clip into the box. Romero also opened up the West Ham defence with a delightful through ball to Brennan Johnson late in the game that should have resulted in a goal.

Lucas Bergvall has such a high ceiling

What a player. In the first half, Lucas Bergvall worked extremely hard, but things didn’t necessarily click for the Swede. He still has a lot to learn about positioning in a number eight role, and his insatiable appetite to hunt down the ball can often leave gaps on the break. However, that kind of knowledge will naturally come with age. In the second half, Bergvall grew into the game and looked like a different animal.

When Spurs are on the front foot, Bergvall is near-impossible to play against. He chases you down, he glides across the turf with the ball at his feet, and he is much, much stronger than opponents often give him credit for. That Dele Alli-type run unlocked the West Ham defence at a perfect time for Spurs to take control of the match, and his neat footwork in the box shortly after provided an assist for Van de Ven to put the result beyond doubt.

I know Joao Palhinha is world-class, Pape Sarr is an engine, Rodrigo Bentancur is back in form, and Tottenham need a creative force like Xavi Simons in the midfield… but Bergvall is well on his way to making himself undroppable.

Thomas Frank has an embarrassment of depth

Tottenham fans may have criticised the summer transfer window, but that squad is looking mighty healthy right now. Let us remember, Mathys Tel is not even in the Champions League squad, yet he started today in the Premier League. Wilson Odobert, Richarlison, Destiny Udogie, Kevin Danso, and Brennan Johnson all came off the bench today.

Tottenham player ratings from 3-0 win over West Ham as 9/10 star steals the show - Spurs Web
Description

The full-time whistle has gone at the London Stadium in the derby between West Ham and Tottenham, and the player ratings are in.

Tottenham Hotspur player ratings vs West Ham

Guglielmo Vicario: Had very little to do beyond reacting to a strange Micky Van de Ven backpass. 7.

Pedro Porro: A little more reserved this evening after his nightmare against Semenyo last time out. Still delivered some dangerous crosses, but held his position with more discipline. 7.5.

Cristian Romero: Should have opened the scoring, had the referee or VAR done their job properly. Showcased some really nice, aggressive, front-footed defending against the likes of Bowen. A well-earned clean sheet from the Tottenham captain. What a pinpoint long ball to assist Bergvall’s goal, too! 8.

Micky Van de Ven: Apart from that nervy header that almost resulted in an own goal, Van de Ven was superb. His pace has always been an asset, but he is learning to read the game and time his challenges even better so far this season. He is also weirdly calm in front of goal. Swept his shot home very nicely. 8.5.

Djed Spence: Going from strength to strength after his England debut. With Xavi preferring to cut infield, Spence was a menace on the overlap all game long. The only downside is that he often ended up crossing with his weak foot, which lacked the zip or accuracy needed to carve West Ham open. 8.

Joao Palhinha: With Bergvall and Sarr pressing high up the pitch, Palhinha was given a big job to do in the pivot role. At times in the opening 30 minutes, he was overrun by the West Ham break, but he held his own and kept Spurs ticking over nicely. Ran the show after the red card. 8.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Lucas Bergvall: Still has a lot to learn about positioning in the central midfield role, but he grew into the game a lot more in the second half and ended up deciding the match with an important goal and assist. Really exciting all-around performance in the end. His ceiling is so, so high. 9.

Pape Matar Sarr: You get the sense that Frank simply does not want to drop Pape Sarr and lose the relentless high press he brings to proceedings. After two goals for Senegal on international duty, Sarr returned to Spurs duty with a wonderful header to open the scoring. 8.5.

Mohammed Kudus: Booed with every single touch, but Kudus seemed to thrive in the cauldron of hate. Looks a real bright spark for Tottenham on the right. His kind of service works better with a target man in the middle, rather than Mathys Tel. Had a good chance to score against his old team in the dying minutes. 8.

Mathys Tel: Struggled to time his runs between the lines. Ironically, while Xavi seemed wasted out left, Tel is arguably better out there. Whatever the case, getting a start after his brace for France U21 will do Tel’s confidence the world of good. 7.

Xavi Simons: Some bright moments on his debut, including an assist from a corner, but Xavi definitely looks a little rusty. It will take him a few weeks to get up to the pace of the Premier League. He was so desperate to cut inside every time he got the ball that it felt pointless to play him wide left. Expect a number 10 start next time out. 7.5.

Substitutes:

Richarlison: Came off the bench after his long trip on international duty. Looked a lot more comfortable in the number nine role than Tel. However, Tel looked sharp in his short spell at left wing, too. 6.

Destiny Udogie: Played out the last 20 minutes in place of Spence and looked nice and sharp. 6.

Kevin Danso: N/A

Brennan Johnson: N/A

Description

The half-time whistle has blown between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United in Thomas Frank’s first London derby as Spurs boss in the Premier League, and the player ratings are in.

The scores are level at the break between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, with neither side managing to find the back of the net.

We’ve rated every Tottenham player from 1 to 10 based on their first-half performance at the London Stadium.

Tottenham half-time player ratings vs West Ham

Guglielmo Vicario – West Ham United have had their moments in the first half, but they have not threatened Vicario with anything substantial just yet. 6.

Pedro Porro – The Spanish full-back does indeed have his hands full, as West Ham are overloading his flank with Diouf, Lucas Paqueta and Crysencio Summerville all looking to cause him problems. He has held his nerve so far. 7.

Cristian Romero – The Hammers’ set-piece struggles, particularly from corners, were highlighted once again when Romero headed home from close range after a Mohammed Kudus delivery. The goal, however, was disallowed for a push. 7.

Micky Van de Ven – West Ham United have looked dangerous each time they have gone forward, but Van de Ven has produced a couple of key interceptions. 7.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Djed Spence – Lost the ball on a couple of occasions and appeared sluggish when marking Jarrod Bowen down Spurs’ left in the early portion of the game. However, he was a real weapon on the overlap all half long. 6.

Joao Palhinha – It is the sort of performance Tottenham fans are becoming accustomed to from the Portuguese midfielder, who continues to shield the back four while also keeping things ticking in midfield. 6.

Lucas Bergvall – The Swede has been full of running in the opening forty-five, looking to combine with new signing Xavi Simons and often underlapping the Dutchman. 7.

Pape Matar Sarr – The Senegal international is yet to impose himself on proceedings, but with Simons out wide, he continues his shift as Tottenham’s number ten in this one. 6.

Xavi Simons – Has seen the ball a couple of times and made a few driving runs, often looking to combine with those around him, but there has been no end product just yet. His shot led to the corner for Romero’s disallowed goal. 6.

Mathys Tel – The young Frenchman was tasked with leading the line after his wonder strike during the international break, but it has been a quiet evening for the 20-year-old, with few touches and little opportunity to make an impact so far. 6.

Thomas Frank has selected his Tottenham Hotspur team for the Premier League match against West Ham United.

Tottenham return to action following the international break with a tough test against their London rivals under the lights in Stratford.

Frank will be keen to bounce back from Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth which ended their impressive start to the Premier League campaign under the Dane.

West Ham, in contrast, come into the fixture on the back of a win following their win over Nottingham Forest, having lost to Sunderland and Chelsea before.

What is the Tottenham team vs West Ham?

The Spurs head coach confirmed on Friday that Dominic Solanke remains injured and will miss the trip across the capital.

Summer signings Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani have both trained at Hotspur Way this week as they get to know their new team-mates.

This is the Spurs team which takes to the field at the London Stadium this evening:

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Pedro Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Palhinha, Bergvall; Kudus, Sarr, Xavi Simons; Tel.

Subs: Kinsky, Danso, Udogie, Davies, Bentancur, Richarlison, Johnson, Odobert, Kolo Muani

West Ham: Hermansen; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Ward-Prowse, Soucek; Fernandes, Paquetá, Summerville; Bowen.

Tottenham need to bounce back with a Premier League win

The performance against Bournemouth was far below the standards seen in the previous two matches, with Thomas Frank’s side having struggled to create any clear cut chances.

Yves Bissouma is nearing a return to match fitness but remains sidelined for this match.

With Tottenham’s Champions League campaign kicking off with the visit of Villarreal on Tuesday, fans will be hoping to see a convincing performance against the Hammers.

Fixtures are set to come thick and fast for Tottenham for the rest of September across multiple competitions.

Description

Dominic Solanke has experienced a frustrating start to the campaign, but has backed one of his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates to produce the best moment of the Premier League season.

Solanke will miss the West Ham United fixture today as he continues his injury rehabilitation, which saw him sit out Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth prior to the international break.

While the England international watches on from the sidelines, Tottenham were busy in the final days of the summer transfer window, securing the arrivals of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani.

It was clear to all who watched the loss to Bournemouth that there was a lack of a cutting edge to Thomas Frank’s side in attacking areas.

Dominic Solanke tips Mohammed Kudus to impress at Tottenham

Summer signing Mohammed Kudus admitted Tottenham lacked creativity against Bournemouth; however, Solanke believes the Ghanaian will light up this season for his new club.

Kudus will line up against his former side, West Ham at the London Stadium this afternoon as Tottenham look to return to winning ways.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Solanke told the Premier League’s YouTube channel: “Kudus will produce the coldest moment of the season. He’s definitely got that flair, so I think we’ll see a lot of special moments this year.”

Kudus will rediscover his form against West Ham

Kudus is set to receive a frosty reception from the Hammers fans today, having decided to join their fiercest rivals, but it will likely only fuel the winger to glory.

Not a single player had been traded between the rivals since January 2011, prior to Kudus joining Tottenham from West Ham for £54.5m in the summer.

The 25-year-old was impressive in Tottenham’s wins over Burnley and Manchester City in the first two matches of the Premier League campaign with his trickery and strength causing plenty of problems for the opposing full-backs.

Solanke will be hoping that he can recover from his thigh injury sooner rather than later, having seen first-hand the quality of ball which Kudus delivers into the penalty area.

Tottenham told they made the signing of the summer, but it’s not Xavi Simons or Palhinha - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur had an eventful summer transfer window, to say the least, and Joe Cole thinks Spurs made the best signing in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank has already begun his reign as Tottenham Hotspur boss, following a summer of sweeping changes at the club.

The Dane arrives with the task of steering Spurs back to the top after a dismal campaign last season, one that saw Tottenham finish 17th domestically, which was well below expectations for a side of their stature.

It is Frank’s first job at the very highest level, and despite Tottenham completing six new player signings during the window, it is the manager himself who is now being tipped as the most significant addition of any club this summer.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank praised by Joe Cole

Joe Cole was quick to highlight Frank’s qualities when speaking on TNT Sport, stressing that he views the new Tottenham boss as the most important signing of the entire summer, whether player or manager.

Cole explained that his opinion was shaped by time spent at Brentford when he saw first-hand the environment Frank created, comparing it to that of some of the best managers he had worked under during his playing career.

Speaking on TNT Sport, Cole said: “I said Thomas Frank, I think is the best signing player or manager any club made. When I was coaching at Brentford, I saw how he spoke to people, how the environment was and it just reminded me the great managers I worked with. You know he has got that spark.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“When you speak to him, even when he comes to speak to us at the desk. He is positive. He can sell a game plan to his team. You know, he is exactly what Tottenham needed. I just think he is brilliant, Thomas Frank.”

Spurs positivity highlighted by Michail Antonio

West Ham forward Michail Antonio also spoke on TNT Sport, echoing Cole’s view by pointing out Frank’s ability to connect with players and inspire a sense of togetherness.

Antonio revealed that he had spoken to Brentford players who praised Frank’s man-management skills, while he also shared a personal experience of his own, which gave him an insight into Frank’s character.

Speaking to TNT Sport, Antonio said: “I completely agree with what you are saying because I have spoken to the boys at Brentford, and the one thing that he has is he is able to get the love from the players.

“He is able to get players to want to give everything for him. Like, I have even come off the pitch myself and he comes to me and he has spoken to me. I am like oh, what a nice guy.

“He is just that person, and he is all a bundle of energy, just wants to keep that positivity. Especially with Spurs and how things were last year, like when I spoke to a couple of the players, I think the boys are just going to adapt to that and just love the love, because sometimes players just need love like some players need someone to put their arms around them, knows that, you know what this guy has my back.”
