Interesting update emerges on Jack Grealish and his Tottenham Hotspur desire - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been given renewed hope of signing Jack Grealish after expressing an interest in him earlier this summer.

Tottenham fans are waiting to see who the club will turn to next after Morgan Gibbs-White decided to snub Spurs and remain at Nottingham Forest.

The likes of Harvey Elliott and James McAtee are reported to be on Tottenham’s radar, but it has now been claimed that Thomas Frank’s men may turn their attention to a more experienced option.

It was reported earlier this summer that Tottenham are eyeing a move for Jack Grealish, who is surplus to requirements at Man City, and the Lilywhites may now have a golden chance to secure their long-term target.

Jack Grealish wants to join Tottenham this summer

GiveMeSport have now claimed that Tottenham Hotspur made enquiries about the Man City man’s availability earlier in the window, and they now have a ‘serious chance’ of landing him.

This is because the England international is not in Pep Guardiola’s plans at the Etihad Stadium, and the City boss has informed the player that he can leave.

Grealish is keen on making a move to London if the opportunity arises this summer, with West Ham also involved in the race for his signature.

MORE SPURS STORIES

However, it is asserted that the player would prefer to join Tottenham over the Hammers since the North Londoners can offer him Champions League football.

The outlet asserts that Spurs have now been pinpointed as ‘Grealish’s most likely destination’ this summer if he moves to London, with the player and his representatives now waiting to find out if Thomas Frank’s men are willing to make an offer.

Grealish’s wages may be a problem for Spurs and other suitors

GiveMeSport points out that the 29-year-old is currently on a bumper contract, which allows him to pocket £300,000 per week, which West Ham cannot come close to matching.

It is revealed that Tottenham are currently contemplating whether to make a lucrative proposal and offer the player an exit route from Manchester.

The report says that Everton have also expressed an interest in the 29-year-old, who is remaining open-minded about a move to the Merseyside club.

Josh Keeley hints at a potential Tottenham Hotspur return in the future

Description

Josh Keeley has spoken about the experience of facing Tottenham Hotspur just days after departing the club and has spoken about how the homegrown rule affected his chances of breaking into the first-team in North London.

The young goalkeeper impressed last term with Leyton Orient, being named the O’s young player of the season, while also leading them to the promotion play-off final, where they suffered defeat at the hands of Charlton Athletic.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans were excited about what the future holds for the 22-year-old, with some reports even claiming earlier this summer that Keeley may be in line for a new contract at Spurs.

Instead, Tottenham accepted a £1m offer from Luton Town for Josh Keeley two weeks ago, and as fate would have it, he came up against the Lilywhites just days after signing for the League One side.

Josh Keeley explains the emotions of playing against Tottenham

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international admitted that it was a strange feeling coming up against his mates just days after leaving N17.

However, he confessed that it worked out well as he had the opportunity to say his goodbyes to the Tottenham players and staff following the 0-0 draw at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

When asked about coming up against his former side in a pre-season friendly, Keeley said (via Football.London): “It doesn’t happen very often! I knew when I joined that we had them a week later, but it was good. It was a good game. I got to see all the boys at the end, which was good.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“It was kind of a quick turnaround for me during the week, so I didn’t get to say goodbye to everyone, but yeah, I got to [after the game], and that was important. I think that is the life of a footballer. It is very unforgiving.

“At one point, you could be at the bottom of the country and then in the next breath, you’re in a different country. You just kind of have to accept these things and get yourself around the fact that you could end up anywhere.

“Luckily, with every loan I have been on, I’ve actually been around London, and obviously, this one is a permanent move. I am still quite close to [Tottenham] and I have made a lot of friends at the club and I am still very close to the boys.”

Keeley admits homegrown rule worked against him at Spurs

Many Spurs fans may have expected Keeley to be used as the third-choice goalkeeper next season following the departure of Fraser Forster.

However, as many pointed out, the youngster is not considered homegrown, having spent his formative years at St Patrick’s Athletic, which means that he would have taken on an overseas spot in Tottenham’s squad.

When asked if it was non-homegrown status that ended his chances of breaking through at Spurs, the shot-stopper said: “Maybe a little bit, I think so, but these are things, obviously a lot of things go against you in football, this is one of them but things happen for a reason at the end of the day. I am very close with a lot of people at the club, so you never know [what the future holds].”

Tottenham insider predicts the club will sign £40m maverick late in the window - Spurs Web
Description

Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown, who is well connected at the North London club, has claimed that the Lilywhites have already identified the player they want to replace Heung-min Son with.

While Thomas Frank has insisted Heung-min Son will have a key role under him at Tottenham, it now appears very clear that an exit from N17 is a very real possibility for the Spurs captain this summer.

Son is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Los Angeles FC, with some sources expecting the move to go through in the later stages of the transfer window.

Spurs have been monitoring Alejandro Garnacho since the start of the summer window, and it has been reported over recent weeks that the Lilywhites may battle Chelsea and Aston Villa for the Man United star.

Tottenham backed to sign Alejandro Garnacho late in the window

While it was reported earlier this summer that Man United were demanding £70m for Garnacho, over the last few days, multiple sources are claiming that Amorim’s men are now ready to sell the Tottenham target for just £40m.

Brown has now suggested that United will not be able to get top dollar for the 21-year-old, now that it is an open secret that he is not in Amorim’s plans.

He confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are indeed fans of the Argentina international and backed them to complete a deal for the winger late in the window.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Brown told Football Insider: “Alejandro Garnacho is certainly one of the names on Tottenham’s list. It looks like they might be losing Son, whether that’s to the MLS or the Saudi league, so they are already looking at options to replace him.

“Garnacho has been a very impressive player for Man United. He’s got loads of promise, and I’m surprised Amorim is so willing to let him go. I think he’d be an excellent addition for Tottenham and he’s definitely one they are interested in.

“The only issue I have is what the price tag will be, because Man United publicly pushing him out has shown their hand, they need to get rid of him. They’re going to struggle to get big money for him so they might have to drop the asking price.

“I think it’s one that will happen in the closing stages of the window, when United need to sell and Tottenham can take advantage of that situation. As I say, particularly if they lose Son, because he’s going to need replacing.”

Tottenham eyeing audacious move for Real Madrid star

Garnacho is not the only Son replacement Spurs have in mind, with reports over the last few days claiming that Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Rodrygo.

According to some sources, Spurs are not put off by Real Madrid’s €90m (£76m) asking price for Rodrygo, with the Lilywhites eyeing a marquee attacker to take Son’s place in the squad.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been told to forget about signing a player they are big fans of, as the player has his heart set on joining Liverpool instead this summer.

Thomas Frank is certainly not short of options at centre-back, but it is unclear how prominent a role Kota Takai will have in his first season at Spurs.

Additionally, reports also indicate that Tottenham are likely to allow Luka Vuskovic to head out on loan this summer, which is perhaps why the Lilywhites are thought to be scouring the market for another centre-back.

According to a recent update by The Telegraph, Spurs still remain interested in Marc Guehi, who has just a year left on his contract at Crystal Palace, but a new update has suggested that the North London club may have to give up on the Eagles star.

Marc Guehi to reject Tottenham’s advances and wait for Liverpool

Over the course of the summer, several outlets have claimed that Liverpool are the front-runners to land Marc Guehi, but the situation appears to have changed recently.

Last week, David Ornstein reported that Liverpool will only make a move for Guehi if Palace drop their asking price, and Spurs fans would have been hoping that this presented them with a chance to win the race for the defender.

However, former Tottenham scout Mick Brown has now revealed that the England international has his eyes firmly set on a switch to Anfield and might even run down his contract at Selhurst Park to make a move to Merseyside.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Brown told Football Insider: “Tottenham have been looking at Marc Guehi again. They want to sign a centre-back and he’s been on their list since they had that bid rejected in January, because Palace might be willing to let him go.

“I think it’s going to be a difficult one to get done, though, because Liverpool are the favourites. He wants to go to a top-level side where he’s got a chance to win things like the Premier League and Champions League on a consistent basis.

“So I’m told he’s got his heart set on a move to Liverpool, where he could go and do that. They’re definitely interested in him, and I expect they’ll make another offer at some stage.

“If that doesn’t happen, though, I wouldn’t be overly shocked to see him stay at Palace for another season and wait to go to Liverpool on a free transfer. Even if Tottenham do come in for him, I expect he would prefer to wait it out and see what else comes.

“There’s always a bit of uncertainty about Tottenham, for me, and I think he wants to go somewhere he’s going to be stitched on and he knows what he’s going to get. Liverpool are the one he wants, so I think Tottenham will have to look elsewhere.”

Crystal Palace have made Guehi decision but it might be the wrong timing for Spurs

Last week, GiveMeSpot claimed that Palace have decided to cash in on Guehi this summer after the centre-back refused to sign a new contract.

The outlet claimed that Spurs, Newcastle, and Liverpool are all circling over the Chelsea academy graduate, but the Reds are not willing to pay over £45m for him.

However, reports over recent days indicate that Cristian Romero is now likely to stay at Tottenham, which means that the Lilywhites may not be keen on spending a huge fee on another centre-back.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have just found out they will have to part ways with a huge sum in order to sign James McAtee from Manchester City this summer.

Following Morgan Gibbs-White’s sudden change of heart, the big question on Tottenham fans’ minds is which alternative will the Lilywhites now turn to.

It was reported by TBR Football a couple of days ago that Spurs could make a move for Man City starlet James McAtee, who the North Londoners have already spoken to this summer.

The outlet alleged that Thomas Frank’s men could land the youngster for a cut-price fee of just around £20m, but it is now clear that the England Under-21 international will be a lot more expensive.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has now taken to social media to reveal that Nottingham Forest have just had an offer of £25m for McAtee sent back by City.

Jacobs states that Pep Guardiola wants to keep the young attacking midfielder at the Etihad, and the player will only be allowed to leave if a big offer arrives.

The Manchester club are looking for a fee close to the £42.5m package they received from Chelsea for Cole Palmer two years ago.

Description

Jermain Defoe has revealed that Tottenham fans have not seen the best of Mikey Moore and backed the youngster to showcase his quality in the Scottish Premiership as he edges closer to a switch to Rangers.

According to various reports, Tottenham have agreed to send Moore on loan to Rangers for the upcoming season so that the youngster can get regular senior football under his belt.

It has been revealed that Rangers boss Russell Martin convinced Moore and Tottenham that a switch to Glasgow would be the right step for the youngster.

As a result, the 17-year-old is thought to have rejected advances from several Championship sides in favour of a switch to Ibrox.

Jermain Defoe heaps praise on Tottenham’s Mikey Moore

Spurs fans certainly saw some glimpses of the teenager’s outstanding quality on the ball last season, although his game time did dry up towards the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur legend Defoe, who has himself played for Rangers, is delighted to see the winger move to the Scottish side.

The 42-year-old admitted that it might take some time for the youngster to get going at the Glasgow giants, but claimed that he can dominate once he gains in confidence.

MORE SPURS STORIES

When asked about the Tottenham starlet’s impending move to Rangers, Defoe told Footy Accumulators: “Mikey Moore’s an amazing young talent. When I came into the academy, they said to me, there’s this young player that you need to see because he’s the next best thing. As soon as I saw him, I thought he has got something special.

“He deserves the opportunities that he is getting right now, and we must remember, he’s very young, only 17. He’s still got time to improve, and I don’t think anyone has seen the best of Mikey Moore yet.

“Once he plays consistently and he gets that confidence and arrogance that he had in the youth team, then we’ll see the best of Mikey, he is a top player.”

Defoe reveals what Moore has to work on at Rangers

The former Spurs striker and academy coach revealed that he is still in regular contact with Moore and advised him to continue working hard on his game.

Defoe suggested that the versatile attacker needs to work on his final third actions at Rangers and urged him to embrace the challenges of playing up north.

He added: “I still speak to Mikey now, he’s someone that wants to improve, he’s a nice kid. I was so happy when I saw him come on last season in Europe and get his first goal, and he gave me a little mention in the interview after which was brilliant.”

“My advice to him would be to keep working hard, keep improving every day on your game and working on your game every single day. Work on those final third actions, whether that’s a pass or whether that’s a shot.

“Focus every single day to improve because you’re a young player and there’s so much improvement that you can make. But he also needs to embrace it. Learn from the players around you and learn from the players that you play against.”

Description

Stefan Borson is impressed with the new hires that Daniel Levy and Tottenham Hotspur have made this summer to help improve their bottom line.

It has not been a particularly productive transfer window for Spurs so far, particularly after Morgan Gibbs-White’s shock U-turn, which has left the Lilywhites with plenty of work to do.

While there might not have been a huge turnover of the playing staff yet, there have been some big changes at the top, the most high-profile of which is Vinai Venkatesham arriving as Tottenham’s new CEO.

Executive Donna-Maria Cullen has stepped down from the Spurs board after two decades of service, while Scott Munn has been placed on gardening leave.

Stefan Borsen makes a claim about Tottenham’s recent hire

There have also been other changes at the top, which have not received a lot of press. One of those is the fact that Levy has hired Altius8 agency, which was founded by former Manchester United executives, to help transform Tottenham’s revenues.

This information was reported two weeks ago by The Telegraph, who claimed that the team is led by Victoria Timpson, who left Old Trafford as part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures last summer.

When asked what he makes of Altius8 agency being hired by Daniel Levy at Tottenham, football finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider: “I have heard good things about these former United executives. They will probably quite like the opportunity to work for different clubs, selling a different proposition, selling a London proposition, for example, versus maybe a slightly tired United proposition that they’ve sold for 10 years.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Spurs gives them something new to sell, so they’ll quite like it. Obviously, they’re personally incentivised because it’s their own agency. You might find that they get a different set of results based on that. But I think it makes sense for both parties.”

Are these changes a prelude to a Tottenham takeover?

Several sources have said that the changes in the Tottenham boardroom are a prelude to ENIC pumping money into the club.

Some journalists believe that investment may already have arrived at Spurs, potentially even as part of a minority takeover by a third party.

Journalist suggests four Morgan Gibbs-White alternatives for Tottenham, including two Bundesliga stars - Spurs Web
Description

The Athletic have dug into the statistics surrounding Morgan Gibbs-White and have put forward four similar alternatives for Tottenham.

Tottenham have been backed to very quickly turn to other options after being snubbed by Gibbs-White, who has signed a new three-year contract at Nottingham Forest.

The delay for the Gibbs-White deal has meant that Spurs have missed out on other attacking midfielders such as Xavi Simons, who appears to be on his way to Chelsea.

It remains to be seen who the Lilywhites will turn to, and it has now been pointed out that the North London club may find some bargains if they turn to the Bundesliga or La Liga.

Two Bundesliga men and one La Liga star suggested as Morgan Gibbs-White alternative

Elias Burke, Thom Harris, and Mark Carey have co-written an article for The Athletic examining the similar profile of players around Europe who Tottenham Hotspur can turn to.

It is pointed out that Gibbs-White was among the best in Europe’s top four leagues when it comes to both progressive passes and carries last season, which makes him a rare double threat.

It is suggested that Werder Bremen’s Romano Schmid could offer similar attributes to Spurs, being capable of progressing the ball up the pitch in several ways.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Mainz attacking midfielder Nadiem Amiri is also put forward as an option, with the German international starting his career as a number ten before being moved into central midfield.

Finally, the report says that the Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet could also be an ‘intriguing alternative’, with the Spaniard being comfortable receiving the ball in tight spaces and also having an eye for goal as demonstrated by his 17 strikes across all competitions last season.

Tottenham told to look at Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott

The Athletic also suggest one option close to home, naming Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott as someone who can perform a similar job for Tottenham in the number ten role.

This is interesting as several sources have confirmed that Elliott is indeed one of the options on Thomas Frank’s radar as an alternative for Gibbs-White.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to push ahead with a move for a Morgan Gibbs-White alternative, and they are prepared to meet the player’s key demand to convince him to come to N17.

It has been reported over the last few days that Tottenham have identified several alternatives to Morgan Gibbs-White, with Spurs fans eagerly waiting to see who the Lilywhites will make a move for next.

It has been claimed by Spurs insider, Paul O’Keefe, and a number of other sources, that one of the names on Tottenham’s radar is Harvey Elliott, who is thought to be keen to leave Anfield.

A new update has revealed what Tottenham are willing to do to convince the Liverpool man to move to N17.

Tottenham prepared to meet Harvey Elliott’s key demand

TBR Football confirms that Thomas Frank remains keen on adding another creative midfielder to his squad, owing to the injury woes of James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

The report claims that Spurs are ready to reignite their interest in Elliott, who is available for £50m this summer.

The versatile midfielder wants regular game time next season and does not believe he will get it in Merseyside, particularly after the arrival of Florian Wirtz.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet asserts that Elliott has made it clear to suitors that he wants to play as a number ten, and Thomas Frank’s men are ready to grant him that wish to bring him to the club.

Tottenham face competition from three clubs for Elliott

However, a deal for the 22-year-old will not be straightforward for Tottenham Hotspur to complete, with the player also on the radar of three other clubs.

West Ham United and Newcastle are both keen on Elliott, although the Mapies’ interest has cooled a bit after they signed Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp, who currently works as the Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group, is keen to take the midfielder to Leipzig this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with one of their first-team defenders over signing a new contract with improved terms after impressive performances last season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-season squad to tour Asia was revealed only two days ago, and it highlighted just how short Spurs are in the full-back department.

Ben Davies, as it stands, is the only recognised left-back at Tottenham following the recent injury picked up by Destiny Udogie, which prevented the Italian from flying to Asia.

Of course, there are makeshift options still available to Thomas Frank, with Djed Spence – who deputised at both left-back and right-back last season – very capable of filling in on either flank.

Djed Spence in talks with Tottenham over new contract

New reports from Paul O’Keefe, a Tottenham insider, have revealed that work is underway behind the scenes to offer Djed Spence a new deal at Spurs.

Spence was an excellent performer for Tottenham last campaign, with the 24-year-old showing great resilience in working his way back into the Spurs squad after being frozen out in previous years by Antonio Conte.

However, thanks to his impressive performances in the 24/25 season, Spence was rewarded with a new contract last term, with Spurs improving his previous wages and tying him down till 2028.

O’Keefe’s tweet on X reads: “Djed Spence in talks with Tottenham over a new improved contract.”

Spurs must keep Spence but also sign another full-back

Given Tottenham’s depth in the full-back area, keeping hold of Djed Spence is even more important thanks to his versatility.

Nevertheless, the addition of another full-back still needs to be explored this summer – one that can do a job either on the right or the left.

Udogie’s injury record does not inspire any confidence that the Italy international would be available all season.
