Description

An Argentine journalist has provided the latest update on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of River Plate starlet Ian Subiabre.

Tottenham’s interest in Ian Subiabre dates back to last summer’s transfer window, with the 19-year-old winger catching the Lilywhites’ attention with his impressive displays in the Club World Cup.

It appears that the North Londoners have once again reignited their interest in the Argentine starlet ahead of the summer window.

It has been widely reported over the last few days that Spurs are ready to ‘accelerate’ their interest in Subiabre, with the Premier League side’s interest causing panic at River Plate.

Where Tottenham stand currently in Ian Subiabre transfer race

Argentine journalist Hernan Castillo has now revealed that Tottenham are involved in a four-horse race for the teenage winger ahead of the summer window.

He claimed that Spurs hold ‘very strong’ interest in Subiabre, who is also wanted by Chelsea, while Villarreal and Lazio have also made multiple enquiries regarding the youngster.

Castillo said on LOVE/ST (as translated by Sport Witness): “River is going to have a strong market in the middle of the year. They will spend, but they will also bring in money because it is very difficult for them to keep Subiabre. Very difficult.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“He has too much interest already. I know that Tottenham, Chelsea, Villarreal, and Lazio are making constant enquiries. And now Tottenham are very strong.”

Spurs considering sending an opening offer for Subiabre

It was previously reported that while Subiabre’s current deal contains €100m (£87.2m) release clause, the Tottenham target could be available for around €15m (£13.1m) this summer.

Castillo has now asserted that the Lilywhites are now considering sending an offer of around €12m to €14m (£10.4m-£12.2m) to River Plate for the teenager, adding that the player is likely to leave the Argentine giants.

The journalist added: “I know that for Subiabre, besides the people who represent him, there has already been an €8m offer that River rejected. And Tottenham are thinking about €12m or €14m.

“It is very, very likely that Subiabre will leave River. So they are going to have important money to go into the market and replace things they are already starting to replace.”

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are battling to secure their Premier League status, but they can take comfort in the knowledge that they have some resources to aid them in the Championship if the unthinkable does happen.

Roberto De Zerbi has just seven games to save Tottenham from being relegated for the first time in 48 years, with the Lilywhites sitting just one point above the drop zone.

De Zerbi’s task has been made harder by the latest injury developments at Spurs, with the Italian needing to somehow turn around the form of a side that is without a single league win this calendar year.

The new Spurs boss has confirmed that he will be in charge next season, no matter what happens, and if disaster does strike over the next month and a half, one player could prove handy in the Championship for the club.

Tottenham youngster Ashley Phillips is nearing 100 Championship appearances

If Spurs do find themselves in the Championship, one defender may be set to play a key role next season in the club’s quest to bounce straight back up.

Ashley Phillips already had experience of regular first-team football in the second tier at Blackburn Rovers ahead of his move to Tottenham in 2023.

The centre-back has subsequently had a brief loan spell at Plymouth Argyle and has spent the last two seasons on loan at Stoke City.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham have revealed on their official website that Phillips has now made 79 appearances for the Potters, a record number for any loan player in the club’s history.

Spurs reveal that Phillips is now approaching 100 Championship appearances, having notched up 97 so far. The defender’s experience of the second-tier may make him a useful option for the Lilywhites if they find themselves in unfamiliar territory next season.

Spurs have made a Mikey Moore plan in case of relegation

Reports indicate Rangers have already held conversations with Tottenham about keeping Moore at the club next season on the back of the winger’s outstanding performances on loan this term.

However, TEAMtalk have claimed that Spurs want to hang onto Moore next season if they get relegated to the Championship.

The Lilywhites believe that the 18-year-old can be a key player in their promotion push should they go down.

How Man City feel about selling James Trafford to Tottenham – Keeper is up for the move - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost in their pursuit of James Trafford as Manchester City’s plans for the goalkeeper come to light.

We believe that the goalkeeping position at Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a big change both now and next season.

Roberto De Zerbi, as we know, is not scared to rotate his goalkeepers and also places big emphasis on his shot-stoppers being able to play out from the back.

This could well bring an end to Guglielmo Vicario’s time at Tottenham, given the Italian’s struggle to join in build-up play under both Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor.

However, there is still the opportunity for the Spurs number one to fight for his spot at Tottenham, but that in itself seems rather unlikely, with Inter Milan keen on signing Vicario this summer, and the former Empoli man having given a yes to a contract offer from the Nerazzurri.

Tottenham boost in James Trafford pursuit as Manchester City exit looms

Spurs’ focus has naturally turned to securing a new shot-stopper, with reports linking them to a few, including Manchester City’s number two James Trafford.

The former Championship goalkeeper has impressed despite being second to Donnarumma, and those performances have caught the eye of Tottenham as well as other Premier League sides.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs have now been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Trafford, with a report from Manchester Evening News stating that City are expected to sell their number two this summer.

A lack of minutes for most of this season has left Trafford frustrated, as he now looks set to miss out on England’s World Cup squad.

Spurs face competition for James Trafford despite transfer boost

But Tottenham are not the only side looking to pounce on Trafford’s frustrations, with other clubs in the English top flight keen.

Newcastle United, who were in the race to sign Trafford from Burnley last summer, remain interested and are pushing for his signature.

Aston Villa have also been linked with Trafford in recent months, with Unai Emery sounding out interest in the City number two.

However, reports from TeamTalk will serve as a boost for Tottenham, with it claimed that Trafford is ready to make a switch to Spurs even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Of course, much of that will depend on the offer he receives, but if he is ready to take such a step, Tottenham will be looking to push for him.

'Tops last three coaches combined' - Tottenham players are saying something wild about De Zerbi - Spurs Web
Description

One journalist has now revealed how highly Tottenham Hotspur players rate Roberto De Zerbi’s training methods compared to those of the club’s last three managers.

The Roberto De Zerbi era is now in full swing at Tottenham Hotspur as they prepare to turn their fortunes around in the final months of the season.

Spurs’ first game under their new boss is a clash against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, as they look to bring an end to their barren, winless 2026 run.

Tottenham have played 13 games this calendar year and have managed just five draws, making them the worst side in the English top flight in that period.

De Zerbi will be hoping that the work being done on the training pitches since he took charge ten days ago will bring positive results in his debut match.

Tottenham players praise Roberto De Zerbi training impact after arrival

Miguel Delaney has now shared how the Tottenham players feel about training under their new boss since he arrived in north London.

According to the journalist, it is understood that many Spurs players believe De Zerbi’s coaching surpasses that of their previous three managers combined.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Before his appointment, Tottenham had Ange Postecoglou, Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor in charge across the past three seasons, but many players feel De Zerbi’s methods have been elite.

Reporting on the shift in mood, Miguel Delaney outlined how the squad have responded to the former Brighton man’s approach and the clear impact it has already had at the training ground.

He wrote: “After months of utter misery at Spurs, there is genuinely a changed mood around the training ground. The players, according to numerous sources, “love” De Zerbi.

“They feel engaged, like they are actually progressing. It is more than just the energy that comes from a new manager – since Igor Tudor certainly did not inspire this response – or even the clarity that comes from actually having a permanent coach again.

“De Zerbi offers an idea, and enthusiasm. This is precisely why some around the club are said to be conspicuously confident of staying up – even if we will not see whether that is actually justified until we watch his new team in a few games. The situation remains complicated, and highly pressurised. Others at Spurs, of course, remain anxious.

“Amid that, though, a private quip from one player illustrates a genuine difference the squad have felt…”

Spurs must translate De Zerbi training boost into results

This is not the first time we have heard positive reports from the Spurs players about De Zerbi’s methods on the training pitches.

Following his first session with his players, it was revealed that many went back with glowing reviews about the session with the Italian.

We also got a glimpse into how De Zerbi works with his players in training. In the footage shared, there was a focus on individualised training from the new Tottenham boss, helping specific players improve aspects of their game.

That will surely be a big boost for many of these players who are low on confidence. The hope from now on will be for the good reviews to turn into strong displays on the pitch.

Description

Roy Keane has poked fun at Tottenham’s current situation in response to a question posed by fellow Man United legend, Wayne Rooney.

While this season has been an extremely difficult one for Tottenham fans, players and staff, it is clear that many opposition fans are enjoying seeing the Lilywhites in their current predicament.

Many of them will undoubtedly be hoping that Spurs go down for the first time in 48 years, and that is what Roberto De Zerbi has been bought in to avoid.

The Italian will be hoping to get an instant reaction from the squad, which has looked devoid of confidence for the past few months.

Roy Keane aims relegation dig at Tottenham while discussing their stadium

The topic of the best stadiums in the Premier League was discussed on The Overlap this week, with Tottenham’s home ground getting a mention.

However, Roy Keane did not waste the opportunity to point out that the stadium could be holding Championship matches next season.

When asked what his favourite stadium in the Premier League is, Keane said: “I’d be thinking straight away; Old Trafford, Highbury and Anfield. As a player, playing there.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Wayne Rooney then suggested that the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium must be the best in the country, to which Keane said: “It’ll be in the Championship next season.”

Roberto De Zerbi has been warned ahead of the relegation battle at Spurs

As the Italian prepares for his first game in charge of the North London club, he has already been given some strong advice from two English managers who are extremely experienced in relegation battles.

Sean Dyche has told De Zerbi to focus on getting Tottenham strong, fit and organised if he wants to keep them up.

Tottenham fans think they know worrying reason behind injury crisis in Real Madrid comparison

Tottenham fans think they know worrying reason behind injury crisis in Real Madrid comparison - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have begun to question whether a strange factor could be behind the club’s ongoing injury problems.

Tottenham Hotspur looked to rectify their injury problems by making changes to their medical staff, but that has done little to improve matters at Hotspur Way.

During Ange Postecoglou’s tenure, Spurs battled an injury crisis that ultimately derailed their domestic campaign, as Tottenham finished in 17th place.

Once more this season, the Lilywhites are embroiled in a relegation scrap and, while injuries are not entirely to blame, they have certainly played a role in the north London club’s decline.

With the Premier League run-in approaching, Tottenham will have hoped to have more of their injured players available at this stage of the season, with nine Spurs stars currently a doubt for the clash against Sunderland.

Tottenham fans question Mohammed Kudus injury as Spurs pitch is blamed

That looked to be the case, with Mohammed Kudus nearing a return, having returned to training earlier this week.

However, Kudus has suffered another setback and is now set to miss the rest of the season, with surgery expected. The right winger’s absence is a major blow, given his creative influence on Spurs’ attack.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham fans have now started to share their views on why the club continues to suffer injuries throughout the season, with the retractable pitch coming under scrutiny.

One supporter raised concerns about the playing surface, suggesting: “I’ve said to a few of the guys on here, isn’t it about time we looked at that retractable pitch it’s causing a lot of injuries so as Real Madrid”

A second fan echoed a similar sentiment, pointing not only to medical factors but also the pitch itself: “Medical but perhaps also out playing/training surface. Look at Real Madrid’s injury list and they have the same setup we do”

Another supporter appeared convinced that the issue lies with the stadium infrastructure, stating: “I’ve fully come round to the retractable pitch being the biggest cause of our injuries”

However, not everyone agreed with that line of thinking, as one fan shifted the focus towards the club’s medical department: “You do have to start wondering if the retractable pitch isn’t a primary cause of injuries, but it CANNOT explain why so many relapses occur. Players in rehab don’t train on that pitch, do they? That has to be attributed to the medical department.”

Meanwhile, another supporter pointed towards squad management and planning as the root cause: “It comes down to a lack of planning. Players are run into the ground because we fail to ever have a competitive squad”

Finally, one fan argued that the lack of depth in the squad is a key factor, rather than the medical staff: “It’s also no coincidence that we consistently don’t have quality backups, so therefore our starters are always overplayed and not fit. But sure, blame the doctors who have no control over anything”

Spurs injury crisis raises concerns over stadium and squad planning

Injuries are a significant part of modern football, but when more than 13 players are consistently sidelined across consecutive seasons, questions have to be asked. Blaming the retractable pitch without clear evidence may be a bit of a stretch, but Tottenham do need to get to the root of the issue.

Real Madrid, who also play on a similar retractable surface, often deal with injury problems of their own, but Spurs can learn from Los Blancos’ approach to squad-building.

Madrid are not shy to splash the cash when building their squad, ensuring quality depth in every area of the pitch, something Tottenham has failed to do.

If the pitch is a contributing factor – and that is a big IF – Spurs may be forced into a difficult decision, especially given the stadium’s importance as a revenue stream.

Tottenham lead Andy Robertson race: Spurs will only sign Liverpool legend on one condition - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are set to push ahead with a deal for Andy Robertson, who will be available on a free this summer, having missed out on the Liverpool legend during the January window.

On Thursday evening, Andrew Robertson dropped a bombshell, outlining his plans for the future after months of speculation.

The Liverpool full-back, whose contract is set to expire this summer, has decided to part ways with the Reds, opting not to renew his deal.

That decision is set to bring an end to a near-decade-long stay at Anfield for the full-back, who has won everything there is to win in club football.

Tottenham lead race for Andy Robertson transfer

Robertson’s announcement will undoubtedly have caught the attention of Tottenham, who were keen on signing the full-back during the winter window.

However, Spurs’ efforts to sign Robertson in January were scuppered by Liverpool, as they were not keen to part with the 32-year-old, given their lack of depth at full-back.

As a result, the defender stayed put, but now David Ornstein has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing Andrew Robertson.

MORE SPURS STORIES

It is explained that Tottenham are in fact in pole position to sign the full-back this summer, although a move is subject to Spurs retaining their Premier League status.

Ornstein wrote: ‘Tottenham Hotspur in pole position to sign Andy Robertson this summer, subject to retaining PL status. 32yo fully focused on LFC so nothing finalised & also interest from Europe but THFC lead contender to seal deal if relegation avoided.’

Spurs face competition for Andrew Robertson despite free transfer boost

Reports from the winter even revealed that Robertson was, at the time, keen on joining Tottenham, and that will no doubt help their case once more this summer.

Spurs were willing to pay a small fee for the Liverpool full-back in January, but if they land him in the upcoming transfer window, he will be joining on a free.

Roberto De Zerbi hints he has big plans for Richarlison at Tottenham after Kudus injury - Spurs Web
Description

Roberto De Zerbi has now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur will be relying heavily on Richarlison as they continue their fight to remain in the Premier League this season.

De Zerbi has a big task on his hands as he aims to keep Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season, with just seven games to spare.

However, the former Brighton manager will have to do so without several key players in his team, as Spurs continue to manage an injury crisis.

As it stands, nine players are expected to miss Tottenham’s clash against Sunderland, forcing De Zerbi to get creative as he searches for a solution.

Tottenham dealt Mohammed Kudus blow as Roberto De Zerbi turns to Richarlison

Mohammed Kudus is one of the biggest concerns for Spurs ahead of their Premier League run-in. The Ghana international has been sidelined for three months but finally made a return to training ahead of Sunday’s game.

But before even taking to the pitch, Kudus suffered another major setback on the injury front, one that requires surgery and could keep him out until the World Cup.

Speaking on NBC Sports, Roberto De Zerbi explained why he will now look towards Richarlison to step up in attack, as Spurs look to turn their fortunes on the pitch around.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He said, “Richarlison can play in different positions. He is a good guy, he is a clean guy, he is an honest guy. I like him, as a player, as a mentality, as an attitude. In the same position, we can play with different players, but I think, to achieve our target, we need Richarlison in the best way possible.”

Richarlison key to Spurs survival push under Roberto De Zerbi

There is no denying how crucial Richarlison is for Tottenham as we head into the Premier League run-in. We also believe the Brazilian could help fill the void on the right in Kudus’ absence for the remainder of the season.

The Brazilian is not only versatile – capable of playing across the forward line – but has also been Tottenham’s most prolific player in front of goal.

Description

New Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi has called on his players to respond after their collapse against Nottingham Forest in the relegation battle.

Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have never seen their club relegated in their lifetime, with Spurs among the six sides to have spent the longest time in the English top flight without suffering relegation.

In fact, one has to go as far back as the 1976–77 season for the last time Tottenham were relegated from the top flight of English football, nearly half a century ago.

Of course, it is only natural for many Spurs fans to hope to keep that record intact, but at the moment their Premier League status is hanging by a thread.

Roberto De Zerbi calls for Tottenham response after fan support

One point is currently the difference between Tottenham and the dreaded relegation line, and as a result, any slip-up will see Spurs drop into 18th with only a few games to spare.

To the frustration of many fans who came out in their thousands to support their club, Tottenham squandered a golden opportunity in their last league outing against Nottingham Forest at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs fell short, losing 3–0, a defeat that has only compounded their Premier League woes, as the loss saw them fail to open up a four-point buffer between themselves and 18th-placed West Ham United.

MORE SPURS STORIES

New boss Roberto De Zerbi has now spoken about the situation, highlighting the importance of the supporters and the responsibility of the players.

Speaking on NBC Sports, De Zerbi reflected on the role of the fans and what Spurs must do to respond after the heavy defeat, while stressing the need to repay their support.

“The Tottenham Hotspur fans have helped the players every time, every game. I know what they did before the last Tottenham game. Now is a different moment and we have to give something more for them because they deserve it and we want to play in Premier League next season.”

Spurs must respond as there is a need for improvement at home

With De Zerbi now at the helm, many Spurs supporters will be hoping the club’s performances on the pitch improve.

Tottenham are currently the most out-of-form team in the English top flight this year after failing to win any of their league games since the start of 2026.

Should they fail to improve on that record, they could well kiss their Premier League status goodbye.

Description

Andy Robertson’s Liverpool exit has opened the door to a summer scramble, with Tottenham Hotspur among five clubs now circling a potential free transfer opportunity.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to improve their side this summer window, should they manage to avoid relegation to the Championship.

While the club will be looking to make several marquee signings, securing bargains who can elevate the squad will also aid their squad-building efforts.

In the winter window, Tottenham approached such a bargain when they tried to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool, but their efforts failed to yield any results.

Tottenham join race for Andrew Robertson free transfer after Liverpool exit

Liverpool were not keen on losing Robertson at the time, even when Tottenham were set to pay a small fee for the full-back.

There was a fear that his departure would have left them short at the back, as they failed to recall Tsimikas from loan at AS Roma.

Robertson stayed put but has now decided his time at Anfield is up and is set to leave on a free transfer this summer window, with the club sharing his official statement.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Spurs, who were keen in the winter window, have now been named among four clubs interested in securing a deal for the full-back, according to reports from The Times.

The other three clubs to have Robertson on their radar are Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Napoli. Reports over the past few months have also linked Celtic as a potential destination for Robertson, with his boyhood club also keeping a close eye on his situation.

Spurs lead Andrew Robertson chase as experience could prove vital

Bringing in Robertson as cover at full-back will be a shrewd piece of business for Spurs, given the experience the 32-year-old brings.

He is a serial winner, having won everything there is to win at club level with Liverpool during his nearly decade-long stay at Anfield.

Further reports from David Ornstein have named Tottenham as the club in pole position to sign Robertson, although any move will depend on Spurs’ Premier League status, as they risk relegation.
