Tottenham Hotspur receive Marc Guehi lifeline after David Ornstein update - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham’s path towards landing Marc Guehi may have just cleared up a little following David Ornstein’s big transfer update regarding the Crystal Palace man.

Thomas Frank is certainly not short of options at centre-back, but over the last week, it has become clear that the Lilywhites are continuing to scour the market for central defenders.

Tottenham have allegedly made a bid of €70m (£60.6m) for Illiya Zabarnyi, but the Bournemouth man is not the only Premier League centre-back Frank’s men are eyeing.

According to a recent update by The Telegraph, Spurs still remain interested in Marc Guehi, who has just a year left on his contract at Crystal Palace.

Earlier this summer, it looked like Spurs were outsiders in the race for the Palace star, with Liverpool emerging as the front-runners to land Guehi.

However, David Ornstein has now revealed that the Reds are hesitant to pay a big fee for the Eagles captain and are now considering moving for other alternatives instead.

The journalist said on The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet: “Liverpool need to recruit a new centre-half with the imminent exit of Quansah and are looking at many candidates.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“As reported last week, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi is a player under consideration, but with just one year remaining on his contract, Liverpool will only firm up their interest if the price is right.

“Nottingham Forest’s Murillo is admired but is likely to be too expensive, so sporting director Richard Hughes is looking at other young centre-halves.”

How much would Guehi cost this summer?

We know the North Londoners are ready to spend big on the England international based on the fact that Tottenham put in a £70m bid for Guehi during the January window.

Some sources have claimed that Guehi could be available for £50m this summer after refusing to sign a new deal at Selhurst Park.

Who is Luka Vuskovic? Get to know the towering Tottenham Hotspur goalscoring defender - Spurs Web
Description

Luka Vuskovic is a professional football player who plays as a centre-back for Tottenham Hotspur. The Croatian sealed his move to Tottenham on a permanent transfer from Hajduk Split in September 2023, and has made a name for himself as a goalscoring centre-back.

Luka Vuskovic has long been viewed as one of the brightest young prospects in European football, having sealed a move to Tottenham back when he was just 16 years old.

Now 18, the 6 ft 3 centre-back is set to embark on a new chapter under Spurs boss Thomas Frank, who will be keeping a close eye on his development.

There is plenty of excitement brewing around the defender’s potential, but who exactly is Luka Vuskovic, and what is it that makes him such an intriguing player to watch?

Who is Luka Vuskovic?

Luka Vuskovic is a professional footballer born in Split, Croatia, on 24 February 2007. Standing at 6 ft 4 (1.93 m), the 18-year-old plays as a centre-back and is currently contracted to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Croatian came through the youth ranks at Hajduk Split, a club steeped in tradition and known for producing top-level talent. It was there that his imposing frame, comfort on the ball, and leadership qualities first started attracting attention from scouts across Europe.

Vuskovic made his unofficial debut for Hajduk Split at just 15, featuring in a friendly against Urania in September 2022.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Two days after his 16th birthday, he made his professional debut, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in a league derby against Dinamo Zagreb – a match that ended in a heavy 4-0 defeat.

Despite the scoreline, he became the youngest player to feature in the Croatian top flight, alongside Marko Dabro, and also the youngest to ever appear in an Eternal derby, overtaking Josip Basic.

Luka Vuskovic’s rise at Hajduk Split and goal record

Only four days after his league debut, on 2 March 2023, Vuskovic grabbed his first senior goal in a 2-1 Croatian Cup win over Osijek. At 16 years and 5 days old, he became the youngest goalscorer in the club’s history in an official match.

The youngster’s meteoric rise did not go unnoticed, with several European clubs circling. However, on 25 September 2023, Tottenham Hotspur won the race for Vuskovic’s signature, paying £12 million to bring him to North London. Manchester City were also keen, but Spurs acted swiftly.

He remained at Hajduk Split after the deal, before heading on loan to Radomiak on 31 January 2024. He made his Ekstraklasa debut there on 10 February 2024 as a second-half substitute in a 6-0 loss to Cracovia, then started his first game a week later in another defeat, this time 4-0 to Pogon Szczecin.

His six-month loan ended with a return to Hajduk before a move to Belgian side Westerlo on 9 July 2024. There, he had an excellent season, scoring seven league goals as a centre-back.

Vuskovic has now returned to Tottenham and is under contract 2030.

A goalscoring debut for Tottenham

The Croatian did not take long to introduce himself to the Tottenham faithful. In a pre-season friendly against Reading on 19 July, Vuskovic scored in the second half and delivered a statement performance – scoring a goal, providing an assist, and helping keep a clean sheet.

It was a dream debut, albeit in a friendly, and one that will have certainly raised expectations. The 18-year-old already looks at ease in a Spurs shirt, and fans will be eager to see more.

With Thomas Frank known for trusting young talent, there is a real sense that Vuskovic could get opportunities to impress in the first team sooner rather than later.

Vuskovic comes from a rich footballing lineage. His father, Danijel, played for Hajduk Split and now coaches the club’s youth teams.

His grandfather, Mario, also represented the club at youth level and went on to have a professional career in the Netherlands. His great-grandfather, Marko, featured for Hajduk during World War II and later worked as an executive.

The family tree does not stop there. His brother, also named Mario, made the move from Hajduk to Hamburger SV in Germany. His cousins Moreno and Vito, and their father Ronald, have all played the game as well.

As for inspirations, Luka Vuskovic named Josko Gvardio as defensive role model. He describes Gvardiol as “an animal” and claims they share similar traits on the pitch.

He said: “My defensive role model is Josko Gvardiol. He’s an animal, I have never seen that in my life, he’s like an alien. We have similarities, but when you see him, you’re shocked at how good he is. We work well together, he solves problems, and I help – ha, ha!”

Croatia senior call-up and early career accolades

While still on loan away from Tottenham, Luka Vuskovic earned his first senior call-up to the Croatian national team for their World Cup qualifiers in June. It was a significant moment, reflecting just how highly he is rated back home and went on to earn his first Croatia cap as a late substitute against the Czech Republic in June 2025.

Vuskovic already made the prestigious Goal Next Gen list, coming in at 26th place among the top young talents in world football.

Individually, Vuskovic was awarded the Belgian Golden Shoe Goal of the Season for 2024. His rise through the ranks has also been filled with notable records: the youngest ever player in the Eternal derby, the youngest goalscorer in Hajduk Split’s history, and one of the youngest players to ever play in the Croatian top flight.

Luka Vuskovic career stats and numbers

Vuskovic has made 60 senior appearances so far in his career, scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists – remarkable numbers for a centre-back up until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed on Wednesday that they will be playing two pre-season friendlies on Saturday, 26 July 2025.

The first fixture is against Wycombe Wanderers, followed by a second match against another EFL League One side, Luton Town, later in the day.

Both matches are part of Thomas Frank’s plan to get his players up to speed and match-ready before they jet off for their summer tour of Asia.

When and where is the game?

The pre-season friendly clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Wycombe Wanderers will be played at Hotspur Way on Saturday, 26 July 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 11:00 am UK time.

How to watch Tottenham Hotspur vs Wycombe Wanderers in the UK

Although the match will not be broadcast on television in the UK, Tottenham supporters will be able to stream the fixture live via the club’s in-house platform, SpursPLAY.

This will be the first of two matches for Tottenham Hotspur on the day, with Thomas Frank set to name different XIs across both games to spread minutes throughout the squad.

Tottenham vs Wycombe injury news

Tottenham Hotspur are still without several first-team players ahead of this match. Bryan Gil remains sidelined with a knee injury and is not expected to return before early August 2025.

Dejan Kulusevski is also unavailable as he recovers from a separate knee issue, with a return date set for mid-September.

Defender Radu Dragusin continues his rehabilitation following a cruciate ligament injury and will not be involved, with his expected return not until mid-October.

Wycombe Wanderers, on the other hand, have no reported injury concerns and are expected to field a full-strength side for the encounter.

Spurs Web prediction for Tottenham vs Wycombe

Thomas Frank has already hinted that he intends to field a strong starting eleven for this match, which implies that Tottenham will treat the contest with a competitive edge rather than just another fitness runout.

If the head coach does go with a balanced mix of senior players and emerging academy talents, then Spurs should have enough quality on the pitch to get the job done against Wycombe Wanderers.

Pre-season matches often throw up unpredictable scorelines, but based on the squad depth and quality in Tottenham’s ranks, we are backing the north London side to come away with a routine win.

Tottenham fans all have the same doubt about latest Heung-min Son transfer twist

Tottenham fans all have the same doubt about latest Heung-min Son transfer twist - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans are all saying the same thing about Heung-min Son’s latest links to the MLS, with many unconvinced by the reported interest from LAFC.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has had his future up in the air this summer window. It was claimed a few days ago that Son is open to remaining at Tottenham up until January.

Son currently has 12 months left on his current Tottenham contract, and has undoubtedly secured his place as a club legend, following Spurs’ Europa League win last season.

The Tottenham captain managed 11 goals and 11 assists last term, one of his lowest since his debut season over a decade ago, but still interest in Son has been plenty, with clubs in the Middle East, America and Europe keeping tabs on the Korean star.

Tottenham fans react as LAFC push for Heung-min Son transfer

Reports claim that LAFC are now pushing hard to sign Heung-min Son in this summer window. It is understood that no major progress has been made yet, but the MLS side is trying hard to get the South Korean superstar in their side this summer.

Tottenham fans have not held back in their reactions, with many of them saying the same thing about the latest reports.

One fan said: “Do not see it, if you give us £34m (€40m) they can have him but do not see them having that money.”

MORE SPURS STORIES

Another added: “Makes sense for LAFC. High Korean and Korean American population in the Los Angeles and SoCal area, which could mean a huge boost in ticket and merchandise sales from those wanting to see Sonny in person. I hope that dressing room argument with Lloris was nothing serious and they made up.”

The comments about LAFC not being able to pay as much continued: “If we want any money for him, we need him going East, not West. He is a commercial giant. If we are going to part ways this summer (which I think we should), he needs to be sold to Saudi or Qatar for real cash. Not the few million that LA could afford.”

Another Tottenham supporter doubted the feasibility of a Heung-min Son transfer: “Spurs want £34m (€40m). MLS do not pay big transfer fees.” One more questioned: “You sure they can afford him?”

Another reiterated: “Doubt they pay enough to get him with the wages he would want (£34-£42m plus £200-£250k a week seems a stretch).”

One more added: “They would pay like £21m (€25m) max.”

Spurs stance on Son remains unchanged this summer

Despite interest in their captain, it is understood that Tottenham are not looking to force Heung-min Son out the door this summer.

However, reports claim that if a suitable offer comes in for Son, Tottenham will consider it. Still, there have been claims that Spurs could lose 75% of their pre-season appearance money if they sold Son before their Asia tour this summer, given some of the commercial agreements they have.

That means if Tottenham are to part ways with their Korean star, they would be looking to do so after their pre-season tour.

But it remains to be seen if Tottenham can sell Son, who is now 33 years old, for huge amounts to a side in the MLS.

Description

Millwall are now eyeing a permanent deal for one Tottenham youngster, with the Championship side keen to strengthen ahead of the new season.

The 25/26 season is set to begin in a little under a month, and Tottenham Hotspur are still working to get their squad together ahead of their opening clash against Burnley.

Tottenham have already completed a few signings, including Mohammed Kudus, Kota Takai, Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, with a total outlay of £110.5 million.

Still, Spurs are reported to be on the lookout for more additions to their squad, particularly in midfield, as Thomas Frank looks to improve his options and bolster the depth available to him.

Millwall target Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine

While incomings have been slow in the past few weeks, outgoings have taken centre stage. Josh Keeley has been sold to Luton Town, and Ashley Philips has joined Stoke City on loan.

Now, fresh reports from the Mirror state that another Tottenham player has caught the eye of a club in the lower divisions of English football.

It is understood that Tottenham midfielder Alfie Devine is now a target for Millwall, who are actively pursuing more additions to their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Devine, who progressed through the Tottenham academy and has featured twice for the senior team, scoring one goal, spent last season on loan in Belgium with Westerlo.

The midfielder became Tottenham’s youngest-ever goalscorer at 16 years and five months when he netted against Marine in the FA Cup in January 2021.

Devine could benefit from regular minutes at Millwall

The 20-year-old enjoyed a solid spell in Belgium, featuring 32 times in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing one assist.

The youngster has also featured for Tottenham since returning from loan, as Frank handed him some much-needed minutes in the pre-season friendly against Reading, where he played the opening 45 minutes.

Tottenham are reported to be open to loaning out some of their youngsters this summer, and it remains to be seen whether Devine will be one of those on the list.

With Millwall in the Championship, it certainly looks like a positive step up for the young midfielder, but with the Lions proposing a permanent transfer, Spurs have a decision to make.

Latest Tottenham update on Joao Palhinha may damped spirits in number six search - Spurs Web
Description

Florian Plettenberg has revealed how advanced Tottenham’s interest in Joao Palhinha is at the moment and what Bayern Munich’s stance on the experienced midfielder is.

While a number of outlets are now reporting that Tottenham are pushing ahead with a move for Joao Palhinha, a move for the Portuguese international is not expected to be straightforward for the Lilywhites.

This is because, according to some sources, Palhinha would prefer to remain at Allianz Arena and fight for his place.

This is despite the fact that he has not been given any assurances by Vincent Kompany of getting regular game time after warming the bench for much of last season.

According to a recent update by TBR Football, Thomas Frank feels that Palhinha would be the ideal fit for his midfield, but the North Londoners have not made up their mind about a move for the player.

Tottenham’s interest in Joao Palhinha is not concrete

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now taken to social media to reveal that Tottenham Hotspur indeed have their eye on the 30-year-old.

However, he makes it clear that the Premier League side are only monitoring his situation and have not made a concrete approach for the former Fulham man so far.

MORE SPURS STORIES

He adds that the Portugal international is aware of Spurs’ interest, and Bayern are open to selling Palhinha if a suitable offer arrives.

Plettenberg wrote: ‘Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Joao Palhinha’s situation. It is not concrete at this stage, but there is interest. Palhinha’s camp has been informed. Bayern are open to talks should suitable offers arrive for the 30-year-old.’

Tottenham have one priority before making an offer for Palhinha

If Frank is keen on landing Palhinha and if Bayern are open to selling him, then the obvious question is why Spurs have not made an approach yet.

That was answered earlier this week by Alasdair Gold, who revealed that Tottenham first want to sell one of their midfielders before making an offer for Palhinha.

Description

A striker who has been on Tottenham’s radar for a long time is now back in the market, but the Lilywhites face competition from two other Premier League clubs for the player.

While Spurs secured Mathys Tel on an initial loan deal in January before making the deal for the Frenchman permanent in the summer, he was not the first option that the Lilywhites went for in the last transfer window.

It was widely reported that Spurs tried until the very last moment to convince Randal Kolo Muani to come to N17 in January, but the Frenchman chose to join Juventus on loan instead.

It was reported last month that Tottenham are ready to pounce on Kolo Muani this summer if Juve are not able to tie up a permanent deal for him, and the North Londoners have now seemingly been handed the chance to do just that.

Journalist Graeme Bailey has now revealed that the 26-year-old’s move to Turin has stalled as the Bianconeri have not been able to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

As a result, the France international has now been offered to Tottenham Hotspur by the Parisians, but Newcastle and Man United are also keen on signing the striker.

Bailey told TBR Football: “Kolo Muani’s move to Juventus has stalled. They want him back, but they want a loan with an option. PSG are not keen, and they believe there are other clubs willing to take him on better terms.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“Kolo Muani has enjoyed life in Turin, but we are told that he remains keen on England – he was very close to joining Tottenham in January.

“Spurs are one of those contacted again, but so have the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle, both of whom are obviously in the market for new forwards.

“He is suddenly a name who is possibly back on the market, and he is intriguing to these Premier League clubs. He is still seen as a huge talent.”

How much would Kolo Muani cost?

According to the update from TBR Football, PSG are willing to sell the centre-forward for €50m (£43.3m) after Luis Enrique deemed him surplus to requirements.

The report says that the Ligue 1 giants would also be willing to loan out Kolo Munai for a loan fee of €5m (£4.3m) and an obligation to buy for €45m (£39m).

Everything you need to know about Tottenham vs Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers - Spurs Web
Description

In an unusual pre-season twist, Tottenham will play two friendlies on Saturday. They first face Wycombe Wanderers at Hotspur Way before taking on Luton Town at Kenilworth Road later that same afternoon.

It’s not often you’re asked to write a match preview for a single pre-season game, only to be informed halfway through that Tottenham Hotspur are playing two fixtures on the same day.

As strange as it may sound, the decision makes a fair bit of sense when you consider that Thomas Frank will soon have to assess his options, deciding who stays, who goes, and who gets shipped off on loan.

And what better way to do that than by splitting the squad across two friendlies in one day? Frank will likely send out a youthful side to face Wycombe in the morning, then turn to his senior players for the afternoon clash against Luton.

Either way, Spurs fans won’t complain about getting to watch their team play twice the same day.

Tottenham kicked off their pre-season campaign last weekend with a 2-0 win over Reading under new boss Thomas Frank. The opener was set up by 18-year-old Luka Vuskovic before the youngster scored one himself. New signing Mohammed Kudus also impressed after being involved in both goals.

As for Saturday’s first opponents, Wycombe Wanderers will be playing their first match since mid-May. They haven’t won a game since April and missed out on promotion after losing their play-off semi-final 1-0 on aggregate. A late goal in the second leg ended their Championship hopes.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Meanwhile, Luton Town are enduring a steep decline. Having played Premier League football just two seasons ago, back-to-back relegations have seen them tumble into League One. Their final day heartbreak came courtesy of a 5-3 loss to West Brom, sending them down on goal difference.

Where to watch the friendlies against Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town

Spurs will play the Wycombe match behind closed doors at Hotspur Way, but fans can still catch it live on SPURSPLAY.

The club will also stream the Luton Town clash on the same platform, though availability might vary by region

Spurs vs Wycombe and Luton Town: Head-to-head record

Tottenham and Luton faced off twice in the 2023/24 Premier League season. Spurs came from behind with ten men to win 2-1 at home before securing a 1-0 win at Kenilworth Road.

As for Wycombe, Spurs last faced them in the 2021 FA Cup, winning 4-1. But fans will fondly remember the dramatic 4-3 win in 2017, when a last-minute goal sealed a sensational comeback win at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham team news

As mentioned earlier, it’s expected that the Wycombe clash will feature more academy and fringe players while the Luton game will involve senior names and potential starters for the coming season.

Injury-wise, James Maddison, Radu Dragusin, and Dejan Kulusevski are likely to remain sidelined after missing the Reading match.

Manor Solomon and Bryan Gil also didn’t feature due to fitness concerns. Their availability will be clarified in Frank’s pre-match press conference.

Richarlison, Mathys Tel, Kota Takai, Wilson Odobert, and Archie Gray didn’t play last time either, but their omissions weren’t injury-related, and they’re expected to feature on Saturday.

Predicted Tottenham line-ups

vs Wycombe Wanderers (Expected XI):

Antonin Kinsky; Pedro Porro, Luka Vuskovic, Kevin Danso, Ben Davies; Lucas Bergvall, Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr; Mikey Moore, Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson.

In terms of youngsters off the bench, Jamie Donley and Will Lankshear, who both featured against Reading, also played in the U21 friendly against Leyton Orient on Tuesday. Additionally, Yang Min-hyeok and Dane Scarlett were also involved as Spurs lost 3-1 at Brisbane Road.

Predicted score vs Wycombe: Tottenham 4-0 Wycombe Wanderers

vs Luton Town (Expected XI):

Guglielmo Vicario; Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie; Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur, Jamie Donley; Heung-min Son, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus.

Don’t expect Frank to swap out all eleven players like he did against Reading. He’ll want to test different combinations and judge fitness levels more effectively; 45 minutes is too small a sample for that.

The Luton game should be a bit more competitive, with Spurs facing a side that, while struggling in recent years, still retains a Championship-level physicality.

Keep an eye on Archie Gray, who is expected to feature and could very well turn out to be the number 6 Frank has been looking for.

Five players to watch as Tottenham take on Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers

Five players to watch as Tottenham take on Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur face Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday as they look to build on a comfortable victory over Reading last time out.

Tottenham are off to a winning start in pre-season, but the result only means so much. These fixtures are an opportunity for the Tottenham first-team squad to build up their fitness and for Thomas Frank to decide on who he wants to become his key players.

There were positives to be taken from the Reading game, but also areas where there is room for improvement. Certain players already seemed ready for the upcoming season, while others looked like they had only just returned from relaxing at the beach.

Here is a list of five Spurs players to keep a close eye on this weekend, whether it is because they shone against Reading, or to see if they improve after a poor performance.

Djed Spence had a mixed display against Reading

Djed Spence played at right-back in the second half against Reading. He linked up well with Mohammed Kudus and got forward, including firing a shot on target which could have been a goal. Had Spence squared the ball to Kudus, he would likely have earned himself an assist.

This was not the only time the 24-year-old made the wrong decision. He held onto the ball for too long on the edge of his own box, presenting Reading with an opportunity to get a shot on goal.

Generally speaking, Spence is a very good player, with quality in both attack and defence. However, he sometimes takes unnecessary risks and does not always make the best choices on the ball. It will be interesting to see whether Frank attempts to make Spence a more composed player, or whether he encourages him to take risks and play with freedom.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Lucas Bergvall has only just returned for Tottenham

Lucas Bergvall recently made his first Spurs appearance since April and it showed. He only touched the ball 13 times against Reading in a pretty lacklustre display.

No one can blame Bergvall for getting off to a slow start, considering the amount of time he spent on the sidelines. However, he now has 45 minutes of game time under his belt and will have been in training all week before the Luton fixture.

It will be interesting to see how quickly Bergvall gets up to speed and is able to deliver the energetic performances Tottenham fans became accustomed to last season. The role he is likely to play under Frank is also interesting, as he could be required to drop deeper at times than he did under Ange Postecoglou.

Jamie Donley made his first Spurs appearance since August

Jamie Donley was able to thrive last season whilst on loan at Leyton Orient. However, making the step up from League One to the Premier League will be a tricky task. Of course, Luton will be competing in the English third tier next season after two consecutive relegations, so he has a big chance to impress.

The midfielder was involved against Reading and his second-half effort was not too far off finding the back of the net. However, Donley did not produce anything notable or out of the ordinary.

There were times during his loan spell when he displayed a wow factor, whether that was scoring screamers or impressing with his creativity. Will he be able to replicate that at Tottenham, or will Frank decide he needs to continue building his experience elsewhere?

All eyes will be on Mohammed Kudus after his Spurs debut

Luka Vuskovic may just have pipped Kudus as the man of the match against Reading, but the summer signing was a joy to watch. His liveliness on the right wing and movement into the box was in sharp contrast to a few of his teammates, who looked far less prepared for the pre-season fixture.

Kudus was able to get an assist and, had Donley converted his chance, he would have had another. There is every reason to be excited at what he will do next and whether he can get on the scoresheet this time around.

Although Kudus is a well-reputed player, his performances at West Ham last season were clearly not up to the standards of the year before. Hopefully his newfound passion for Tottenham will be enough to get him back on track and playing his best football.

Heung-min Son may be playing his last few matches for Tottenham

Tottenham supporters should savour every moment they have left of Heung-min Son because the club captain could be on his way out. It is possible Son will leave Spurs before the new campaign begins, although Son is reportedly happy to stay at Tottenham until at least January.

Even if he does not leave, there will be curiosity over how big a role Son would have to play in the upcoming season. His second-half display against Reading will not have done him any favours, but in fairness, he only played 15 minutes while on international duty in June.

Son’s decline in pace is no secret, and the touchline winger role does not look a great fit. However, he was still one of Tottenham’s top-performing attackers for goals and assists last season.

Looking at the other players in his position, there remains a chance he will receive game time and every match between now and the new season could be a key indicator of whether this will be the case.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could rotate heavily again as Thomas Frank prepares to take on Luton Town and Wycombe Wanderers on the same day this weekend. Let’s take a look at not one, but two predicted Tottenham XIs.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to return to action this weekend, not once but twice. Spurs kick things off with a Hotspur Way friendly against Wycombe Wanderers at 11 am before travelling to Kenilworth Road to face League One side Luton Town later in the day.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3 pm UK time at Kenilworth Road Stadium, in what will be Thomas Frank’s second game in charge of Tottenham (third if he also manages the earlier game against Wycombe).

Following a complete display against Reading last week, where Spurs emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, Frank will be hoping for an even stronger performance from his Tottenham players.

We have now attempted to predict how Thomas Frank will line up this weekend when Tottenham Hotspur take on Wycombe and Luton Town.

Tottenham predicted XI vs Luton Town in pre-season friendly

Last week, we saw Thomas Frank use two different elevens in each half, a strategy which also saw Tottenham name two separate captains for the game.

The first eleven that played in the first half only managed a goalless draw, while the second eleven added the goals to cap off what was a well-rounded team display.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Frank has already revealed that he will hand some of his Tottenham players 60 minutes on Saturday in the two fixtures against Wycombe and Luton.

Here is our predicted Tottenham XI to start against Luton Town: Guglielmo Vicario; Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie; Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur, Jamie Donley; Heung-min Son, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus.

Predicted Spurs XI to face Wycombe Wanderers at Hotspur Way

Earlier in the day, however, Thomas Frank is likely to mix things up and spread the minutes around his full squad. We expect the likes of Wilson Odobert, Alfie Devine, and Will Lankshear to be handed minutes off the bench in one of the two fixtures as well.

Yang-Min Hyeok, Phillips, and Abbott could once again miss out on this tie, with Tottenham likely to loan these three players out this summer.
