Description

It turns out that Davinson Sanchez could soon find himself back in the Premier League, two years on from swapping Tottenham Hotspur for Galatasaray, with one English club now showing keen interest in the former Spurs man.

Sanchez initially joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £42m deal from Ajax back in 2017, and the centre-back spent six years at the North London club, making a total of 207 appearances for the Lilywhites.

While the Colombian initially showed a lot of promise, he never truly managed to establish himself as one of the club’s important players and was eventually sold to Galatasaray in 2023.

The 28-year-old has been nearly flawless for the Turkish giants over the last two years, emerging as a leader at the back for the club and playing a key role in their Super Lig win last season and their outstanding title defence so far this campaign.

Tottenham could face Davinson Sanchez again next season

A report in the print edition of the Turkish newspaper Sabah (as relayed by Sport Witness) has now suggested that the centre-back could be set for a shock return to the Premier League this summer.

The report says that Everton are keen on adding to their defensive stocks this summer and have set their sights on Sanchez.

The outlet does not provide any detail on the fee that the Toffees would have to pay to sign the former Spurs man, but it is said that the Merseyside club have already made a contract offer to the centre-back.

However, there is thought to be confidence at Galatasaray that they can hold onto their star defender despite Everton’s interest.

Sanchez compared to Virgil van Dijk in Turkey

The former Tottenham defender has been so dominating and consistent in the Super Lig that some rather outlandish statements have been made about him over the last month.

One pundit insisted earlier this season that Sanchez is better than Virgil van Dijk, which is an opinion that Spurs fans might find it hard to get their heads around.

Tottenham find out how much they will have to pay for Yann Bisseck - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling two of their Premier League rivals for Yann Bisseck and a fresh report has now revealed the fee that Inter Milan are demanding for the centre-back.

With reports suggesting that Cristian Romero is expected to depart Tottenham this summer, it is unsurprising that we are suddenly seeing a whole host of centre-backs across Europe being linked with a move to N17.

Among the names most heavily linked is the Inter star, with a number of outlets claiming over recent weeks that Tottenham have set their sights on Yann Bisseck.

It was revealed last month that Spurs may have to battle West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton for Bisseck, and a new update has now revealed that the 24-year-old is not expected to come cheap.

Tottenham can sign Yann Bisseck for just under £50m

CaughtOffside have now become the latest outlet to talk up Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the German defender.

Interestingly, the report names Man United and West Ham as Spurs’ two biggest competitors in the race for Bisseck, explaining that Inter would be happy to cash in on the centre-back.

However, the Nerazzurri have no interest in selling the former Koln man for a cut-price fee and will demand €55m (£46.8m) for the player’s services.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The publication adds that as things stand, no Premier League club have launched any offers for Bisseck or even reached out to Inter regarding the player’s availability.

Which other centre-backs are on Tottenham’s radar?

Over the last couple of months, we have seen reports suggesting that Spurs are eyeing the likes of Marc Guehi, Dean Huijsen, and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Additionally, Bisseck is not the only Serie A centre-back on the Lilywhites’ radar, with Tottenham also thought to be interested in AC Milan’s Malick Thiaw.

Description

Bryan Gil has opened up on his mental health struggles at Tottenham Hotspur and has revealed how his loan move to Sevilla in 2023 saved him and helped him regain his love for football.

Gil has good reason to feel hard done by at Tottenham Hotspur, with the winger being overlooked by three different managers: Nuno Espirito Santo, Antonio Conte and Ange Postecoglou.

What would have made the situation particularly hard to swallow for the 25-year-old is the fact that he gave a decent account of himself for the Lilywhites whenever an opportunity came his way.

The winger has demonstrated his quality once again at Girona this season and he looks destined for a summer move as Gil confirmed just a few days ago that he will leave Tottenham permanently at the end of this season.

Bryan Gil opens up on his struggles at Tottenham

The Spain international has now been candid about what he was going through in North London, admitting that he fell into a depression during his time at Hotspur Way.

Gil confessed that he only rediscovered his love for the game when he returned to Sevilla on loan in January of 2023, admitting that it was a dream come true to be part of the club’s Europa League title win.

The Tottenham man said in an interview with Post United on YouTube (as relayed by Estadio Deportivo): “The truth is, the return was very beautiful. For me, it was a dream come true to win a title with Sevilla after six months in London that weren’t very good, after that first year in which I think I practically fell into depression, to see that football rewards you, that you enjoy playing football, it was incredible.

“I didn’t expect it at all because when I arrived, we were in a dangerous situation, and no one expected we would finish the year the way we did. I had that lack of motivation from the first six months; I didn’t imagine that’s what being a footballer was all about.

“I only thought about enjoying myself and always playing, but you have a lot of rough patches that are important to overcome in order to mature.”

Girona’s stance on a permanent move for Gil this summer

Given how well Gil has done at Girona this season, one would expect the club to sign the winger permanently this summer.

However, over recent months, some sources have claimed that Girona are unlikely to activate their €15m (£12.5m) option to buy Gil as they consider the price excessive.

Ange Postecoglou told he has been set up to fail by Tottenham Hotspur - Spurs Web
Description

Ramon Vega does not believe that Ange Postecoglou has been given a chance to succeed at Tottenham Hotspur, insisting that the club’s poor recruitment over the last two years has made the Australian’s job impossible.

Spurs find themselves in a very strange situation at the moment. Even though they are just one game away from a European final, Postecoglou’s future as Tottenham manager is uncertain beyond this summer.

That is natural when one considers the team’s abject results domestically this season, but many Tottenham fans have directed their anger at the club’s owners rather than at Postecoglou.

That is a sentiment that Ramon Vega shares, with the former Spurs defender pointing out that too many top managers have failed at N17 for the finger to be pointed at the coaching.

The pundit believes that just like his predecessors, Postecoglou has been hung out to dry by the owners, given their lack of emphasis on adding the required quality to the squad over the last few transfer windows.

Ramon Vega says no manager in the world could succeed with current Tottenham squad

Vega believes that the issues at Spurs lie with their poor recruitment, insisting that no manager in the world can guide a squad full of teenagers to a top-four or top-five finish.

The 53-year-old remarked that despite all that Daniel Levy and the current owners have done to improve the infrastructure at N17, they are not going to get the supporters onside unless they deliver trophies.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Interestingly though, Vega believes that Ange Postecoglou is the right man to take Tottenham Hotspur where they want to get to and called on the club to back the 59-year-old this summer rather than sacking him.

When asked his thoughts on how Tottenham are being run, Vega told Spurs Web in an exclusive interview: “Let’s start with the positives: Tottenham have a great infrastructure. They built up a fantastic stadium and some great training ground facilities. I wish I’d had something like that when I was there. If you saw our training ground at the time, you would laugh. Now, it’s like a 5-star luxury resort.

“All of that environment has been pretty much built all great, but the one major thing is the football is still the main dominating principle driver of any football club. If you’re not successful on the pitch, you can have the best luxurious stadium in the world. You still are not going to convince the fans, simple as that.

“You might make money through non-football orientated revenue streams, and that’s what Spurs have been doing, but the whole emphasis on winning something is not there for a lot of wrong reasons.”

“First of all, they didn’t put emphasis into recruitment for a long, long time, which I think is a crucial part. That’s where you have 4-5 to up to 10 years forecast, where you can build that success over a period of time and have a certain stability.

“That stability with so many coaches going through Spurs…we are talking now within the last 5 to 6 years, nearly 3-5 coaches, and we are talking the best coaches in the world have not won anything with the club. This shows it’s not the coach’s fault anymore.

“I think Ange is a great coach who did a fantastic job at Celtic. I told everybody when Ange joined Spurs that they should be grateful that he signed up, because who wants to come to Spurs?

“This environment or support for players… Ange Postecoglou had these issues this year at Tottenham from not having this support in the summer or January transfer market and on top of that, more than half of the squad is injured. No manager in the world can actually be successful. It’s impossible.

“You’ve got 7-8 teenagers on the pitch who have no experience…it’s impossible to finish in the top 4-5 positions. That’s where we are now, and I think this is what the board has to look into. In the future, they have to support Ange, but also look into recruitment, and that’s one of the key elements they have to invest in.”

Ramon Vega doubts whether things will change at Spurs

Vega believes that the priority of the Tottenham ownership should now be to do all they can to make the team successful on the pitch.

However, he doubts if that will be the prevailing thinking at Hotspur Way, suggesting that they might continue to prioritise the bottom line.

Vega added: “Now the infrastructure is done, let’s get the football done, but I have doubts, he is going to do it because they’re looking at any penny like a business, but football is not just about that as well.

“It has to have a balance behind that, and I think if the football pitch is successful, I think the outcome of earning more money will be much higher than what they’re earning now, and I think that should focus on that now.”

Description

Tottenham have set their sights on yet another teenage prospect, with a bold £13m bid already lodged as they look to raid Leicester City for one of their most exciting young talents.

Tottenham Hotspur are no strangers when it comes to signing youngsters, with the Lilywhites bringing in a few ahead of this season.

We saw Spurs splash £40m on Archie Gray, after the midfielder impressed at Leeds United in the Championship last season.

It looks like money well spent, as Gray picked up the Young Player of the Year award at the London Awards in only his first season in north London.

Lucas Bergvall has also impressed in his first season at Spurs. Despite his slow start, the young midfielder has since grown into his midfield role, putting in top performances for Tottenham, with the club rewarding Bergvall with a new six-year contract extension.

Tottenham make £13m bid for Leicester starlet Jake Evans

Reports from Fichajes now claim that Spurs have their eyes set on another youngster.

It is said that Leicester City starlet Jake Evans is firmly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar and that the north London club have now made a £13m offer to the Foxes.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Evans is one of the brightest prospects at the East Midlands club, and it has been stated that the Foxes are looking to build around the youngster.

Despite being just 16 years old, Jake Evans became the third youngest ever player to feature for the club at that age, when he made his debut against Brighton back in April.

Manchester United also keen on Spurs target Jake Evans

Tottenham, though, are not the only club to have noticed the youngster. The publication also claims that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on the teenager and, just like Spurs, they too have put in a £13m bid.

United themselves are no strangers to signing youngsters, as we have seen them bring a few into their club in recent windows.

In fact, the Red Devils even beat Spurs to the signing of exciting full-back Patrick Dorgu in the winter window, with the full-back signing a five-year contract.

With Leicester City now relegated, it is claimed that it would be increasingly difficult for the Foxes to hold onto their man, especially with some of England’s top clubs sniffing around.

How to watch Bodo/Glimt vs Tottenham in the Europa League - TV channel and kick-off time confirmed - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have one foot in the Europa League final, but Bodo/Glimt are out to flip the script in Norway on Thursday night. Here’s how to watch the clash between Tottenham and Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur know exactly what is at stake on Thursday when they take on Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

The Lilywhites need to avoid a defeat by a three-goal margin if they are to remain in the competition, having already secured a two-goal advantage in the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Glimt players have had a full week of rest ahead of the clash at the Aspmyra Stadion, and they will be looking to exploit the pressing weakness that Kjetil Knutsen’s players identified in the first leg.

For Ange Postecoglou, he has made it clear that should his players repeat their performance in the first leg, they would book a place in the final.

When and where is the game?

The Europa League meeting between Bodo/Glimt and Tottenham Hotspur will take place at the Aspmyra Stadion on Thursday, 8 May 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 8PM (UK time).

For fans wanting to know how to watch Tottenham vs Bodo/Glimt in the United Kingdom, the match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 2 and TNT Sports Ultimate.

Spurs vs Bodo/Glimt team news

Team news ahead of the clash has Spurs dealing with several injury setbacks. As it stands, Tottenham are sweating on the fitness of Heung-min Son, who continues to nurse a foot problem.

Radu Dragusin is ruled out as he recovers from an ACL injury, while James Maddison is out following a knee injury picked up in the first leg. Lucas Bergvall is also unavailable for the rest of the campaign.

Bodo/Glimt, on the other hand, have been handed a major boost, as all their suspended players are back and are in contention for a start. The only injury concern is Daniel Bassi, who is injured but has returned to training.

Spurs Web Prediction

This is a big clash for Spurs, as a place in the finals is on the line. The Lilywhites will have to be both solid in defence, while also carrying enough threat in attack.

We know that Tottenham can defend when needed, with the Frankfurt tie being a good example – a similar performance will be needed on Thursday on Glimt’s artificial turf if the Lilywhites are to progress to the next round.

Richarlison sends transfer hint amid rumoured return to Everton - Spurs Web
Description

Amidst the speculation over his future, Richarlison has just sent a big hint about a potential return to Everton this summer with his latest social media post.

While there has been a lot said and written about potential incomings at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, one would also expect several departures as the Lilywhites continue their squad rebuilding.

One man who looks certain to leave is Richarlison, who has endured another injury-hit campaign and has struggled to get a run in the side.

Rumours first emerged in March that Richarlison is on Everton’s summer wishlist, with the club said to be prioritising re-signing the striker ahead of their move to the new stadium in Bramley-Moore Dock next season.

Richarlison sends Everton transfer hint on Instagram

It was even asserted a couple of weeks ago by GiveMeSport that Everton are ready to launch a £30m offer for Richarlison as soon as the transfer window opens in June.

The Tottenham man has now sent a big hint regarding a potential return to his former stomping ground with his social media activity.

On his Instagram Stories (as relayed by Football Insider) Richarlison has shared a video of an Everton mural featuring him, captioned with two blue hearts as Goodison Park prepares to host its final ever game against Southampton later this month.

Tottenham have a big problem after Antoine Semenyo price tag reveal - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have learned that Bournemouth are willing to sell Antoine Semenyo if their asking price is met, but the winger is now likely to end up outside the Premier League this summer.

Semenyo has evolved into one of the most exciting wide players in the Premier League over the last couple of years, with the Cherries man regularly getting bums off seats when he gets on the ball and terrorising defences across the country.

Tottenham lack a winger of his profile in their squad, which is perhaps why it has been reported that the Spurs have earmarked Semenyo as a top target for the summer.

Some sources have even claimed that Tottenham have identified Semenyo as their ideal heir to Heung-min Son, and the North London club have now learned how much they have to pay for the Ghana international.

Antoine Semenyo is not likely to end up at Tottenham

TBR Football have now said that Bournemouth will let the exciting wide man leave the Gtech Community Stadium but only if their asking price is met.

The report reveals that Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United have all watched Antoine Semenyo in action this season.

However, the Cherries have made it clear to those clubs that they would have to pay more than £60m to sign their talisman.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet says that the Saudi Pro League has now emerged as Semenyo’s most likely destination as none of the player’s Premier League suitors are not prepared to meet Bournemouth’s asking price.

Arsenal may have an advantage in the race for Semenyo

However, TBR Football make it clear that the winger’s future still remains wide open and although a move to Saudi Arabia seems the most likely outcome right now, things could change over the coming months.

It is pointed out that Semenyo grew up as an Arsenal fan and his emotional connection with the Gunners could give Mikel Arteta’s men an advantage over other suitors in the transfer race.

The report adds that the Bournemouth man’s preference is to sign for a club which features regularly in European competitions.

Tottenham will be happy to see Chelsea fail in move for Jamie Gittens

Tottenham will be happy to see Chelsea fail in move for Jamie Gittens - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have just been handed a lifeline in their pursuit of exciting English winger Jamie Gittens after learning that Chelsea’s latest attempt to win the race for the player has been unsuccessful.

Most Spurs fans will agree that the club is in desperate need of reinforcements in the wide areas, given Heung-min Son’s struggles this season and the fact that Mathys Tel has not yet set the world alight at N17.

Tottenham have allegedly been impressed by the progress of one Bundesliga starlet ahead of the summer window.

It has been widely reported that Spurs are keen on signing Jamie Gittens on the back of his outstanding showing for Borussia Dortmund this season.

It emerged last week that Chelsea had moved into pole position to land Gittens after reaching out to the England Under-21 international’s camp regarding a switch to Stamford Bridge.

However, Tottenham Hotspur have now been handed some good news by Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who has revealed that a proposed swap deal between Gittens and Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka is no longer being considered by Dortmund.

Plettenberg explains that Enzo Marseca’s men remain ‘very keen’ on landing Gittens and have made their interest clear to the player’s camp.

MORE SPURS STORIES

As things stand, however, the race for the 20-year-old’s future remains wide open, with Dortmund not negotiating with anyone at this stage.

The journalist adds that Bayern also have their eye on Gittens, but the Bavarian club’s priority target remains Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

How much is Jamie Gittens expected to cost?

It was reported a little over a week ago by Sky Sports Germany that Dortmund are prepared to sell Gittens for a fee of around €50–€60m (£42.8m-£51.4m).

The same information was also carried around a month ago by Bild, who said that Dortmund will not accept anything less than €60m (£50.6m) for Gittens.

It is clear that Tottenham would have to pay a premium to land the youngster, particularly given Dortmund’s tendency not to budge from their asking price while selling their young talent.

Fabio Paratici agrees Tottenham return and will decide next Spurs manager - Spurs Web
Description

Fabio Paratici is closing in on a sensational return to Tottenham, with the Italian reportedly agreeing terms with Daniel Levy to come back in an official capacity – the Italian is set to have the final say on one major decision at the club.

Fabio Paratici’s future has been doing the rounds, as the former Tottenham sporting director is in search of a new club.

Paratici has been working as a consultant for Spurs over the last two years, since being forced to resign from his role as Tottenham’s managing director of football.

Over recent months, it has been reported that Daniel Levy is trying his best to bring Paratici back to Spurs in an official role, once he completes his FIFA ban on 20 June.

Tottenham’s pursuit of the 52-year-old received a major boost when it emerged at the start of last month that AC Milan’s efforts to appoint Paratici as their sporting director had collapsed.

Once again, another attempt to convince Paratici to sign for AC Milan failed to yield a result after their latest Lake Como meeting, with both parties failing to reach an agreement. It was revealed that the sporting director felt he was somewhat messed around by the Serie A side.

Fabio Paratici agrees return to Tottenham after AC Milan breakdown

Now, TBR Football are reporting that Fabio Paratici has agreed terms on his return to Spurs. This comes after further talks with Daniel Levy, and it is confirmed by the outlet that a deal is in place for ex-Spurs director to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The 52-year-old cannot officially start work until 1 July, when the 30-month ban he was handed in 2023 for his perceived role in financial mismanagement during his time at Juventus comes to an end.

The Italian will form part of a new footballing team at Spurs, along with new CEO Vinai Venkatesham, who has arrived from Arsenal.

Spurs restructure looms with Fabio Paratici set for power role

It has also been revealed in recent weeks that there could be wholesale changes in Tottenham’s structure this summer, with the club’s recruitment, sports science and medical departments thought to be under review.

Should Paratici return, then he is set to continue in a similar role to the one he held formerly at N17, one that would see him start to call the shots once again.

TBR Football have now also revealed that the Italian director is set to have the final say on Spurs’ managerial situation and will decide who will replace Ange Postecoglou if the Australian does depart this summer.
