They have had the best players playing all the time and playing at a really high level. That is a credit to Arne, his coaching staff and the players themselves. They have been close in the last few years and the fact they are on the cusp of potentially winning another title is a credit to everyone involved.

"In the cup game first leg, I thought we were really good, we took the game to them even though again we had quite a few absences and. worked really hard to get a win in that game, so we know it's going to be tough at the weekend, but at the same time I think it's a great challenge for us."

According to journalist Pete O'Rourke, writing for Football Insider, Tottenham are now "well-placed" to seal a deal for Feyenoord striker Zepiqueno Redmond - who will leave the Eredivisie side on a free when his contract expires and could be a "bargain signing".

The highly-rated 18-year-old, a Netherlands Under-19 international, has broken into the Feyenoord first team this season, making four senior league appearances, but they now look set to lose him for nothing as Spurs seek to take full advantage.

“Personally, I don’t think Spurs are going to be on their own when it comes to high-end clubs scouting Harry Gray," said Goodman to Football League World.

"The reports coming out of Elland Road are sensational, in that this could be a very special talent, maybe even more so than his brother Archie, which would be an incredible feat.

“At the moment though, it’s about playing football week in, week out and learning your trade. I think if Spurs did sign him, you would imagine it would be possible that they would loan him back to Leeds or a team where he would play regular first team football.

“At that age, you need a slow, considered introduction to football, where you’re not overworked, but you get plenty of opportunities at first-team level. That, for me, would be the best thing for him.”

Still yet to make a senior appearance for the first team, it seems like it could only be a matter of time.

Tel has managed three goals in 13 appearances for Tottenham so far, but his versatility and sky-high potential would make him a useful asset for Postecoglou or any new manager.

The teenager is a record-breaker already, becoming Bayern's youngest ever goalscorer in 2022 at just 17, attracting praise from Germany legend Thomas Müller.

“Mathys should keep doing his thing: firing shots in on goal. He's a superb finisher," said Muller. "He's only 18 and is making the most of it at the moment. He's always positive, always has a smile on his face and has great finishing in training and in matches.”

According to newspaper Bild, via Sport Witness, Tottenham have made contact with Kovac, via an intermediary but not directly with the club, as chairman Daniel Levy casts his net to Europe in search of a new head coach.

Spurs are said to view him as a good fit due to his intense and aggressive style of play, but as things stand, he doesn't have an interest in leaving Dortmund. If this stance changes, Kovac's reputation as a true leader appears to be exactly what Tottenham are crying out for.

"He [Kovac] has experience, he was a very good player and was the captain of the Croatia national team," said Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus.

"He has charisma, he has passion, he knows about football. He was a leader as a player and is showing this as a coach too."

The Argentine enjoyed a successful spell at the Tottenham helm from 2014-2019, which included an unprecedented run to the Champions League final in 2019, and you can argue the north Londoners haven't enjoyed consistency akin to Pochettino's tenure since he departed.

Now manager of the USA national team, as they prepare to co-host the 2026 World Cup, journalist Graeme Bailey has reported for The Boot Room that Pochettino hasn't quite settled into his first international role.

Alternatively, if he were to leave the States, Pochettino would "love" to re-join Tottenham, and Levy is said to be "aware" of this. The 53-year-old would also be Levy's first choice to replace Postecoglou, given their already-close relationship and communication.

After a string of lacklustre results with the USA, Pochettino is also said to be under pressure, and he is very much in Levy's thought process as a potential replacement for Postecoglou.

The former Southampton, Chelsea and PSG boss won a Ligue 1 title with the latter, and he appears to currently be one of three trophy-winning managers under consideration by Spurs - the other two being Glasner and Inzaghi.

As per The Mail and journalist Mike Keegan, a new name is now on Tottenham's growing list of linked head coaches - Burnley boss Scott Parker.

The former Lilywhites and England midfielder amassed 63 appearances for Spurs during his playing days, and has since gone on to enjoy some successful stints during his managerial career - guiding both Fulham and Burnley to Premier League promotion.

Bar a failed stint at Jupiler Pro League side Club Brugge, the 44-year-old has showcased some promise in his early career as a tactician, and it is believed Tottenham are fans of Parker as a manager.

He's also attracted praise from his peers, with Man City boss Pep Guardiola branding him one of English football's new "innovative" coaches back in 2021, while former Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon called Parker a "top coach" when he was linked with the hot seat four years ago.

"He’s a top guy, top man and a top coach. He’s just an all-round great guy," explained Sessegnon.

"He obviously has a philosophy of play and sticks to it and all the players are buying into that. Recently, it hasn’t been so good for them in terms of results, but I think the performances and effort is still there."

It's been challenging to find the positives for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Across all competitions, the North Londoners have lost 22 games, only one fewer than they've won, and if they don't get to the Europa League final next month, it could go down as their worst campaign in a generation - or two.

However, there are, in fact, reasons to be optimistic for the Lilywhites faithful, as they have a collection of seriously exciting youngsters already in the senior side and the academy.

In fact, one youngster in particular looks like he could be a real world-beater, even in Tottenham's answer to Lamine Yamal, if you will.

Before we get to the prospect in question, let's take a look at some of the other sensational talents Spurs have on the books, including one teenager who is already playing senior football, just not in England: Luka Vušković.

The Croatian wonderkid is one of the most exciting centre-backs around at the moment, as, on top of being labelled a "monster" for his defensive efforts by respected analyst Ben Mattinson, he's also a serious goal threat.

For example, in just 32 appearances, he has already scored seven goals and provided two assists, which comes out to a frankly staggering average - for a centre-back - of a goal involvement every 3.55 games.

A talent far closer to home but no less exciting is Tyrese Hall.

The 19-year-old prospect is enjoying a stellar season in the academy this year and has amassed a tally of six goals and five assists in only 28 appearances.

That means the teenage phenomenon, who Jermain Defoe claims has a "Luka Modric vibe" is currently averaging a goal involvement every 2.54 games, which is certainly encouraging.

However, there is another youngster who is even more exciting, someone who could be the club's answer to Yamal.

So, while some of you may be thinking of the incredibly promising Mikey Moore, you'd be mistaken, as the academy gem in question is actually a year younger.

Despite being just 16 years old, Luca Williams Barnett has been causing quite a stir this season, as every week, regardless of the opposition, he seems to deliver.

For example, in just 18 appearances, totalling 1465 minutes, the Luton-born prodigy has scored a whopping 19 goals and provided nine assists.

That means he is currently maintaining an otherworldly average of 1.55 goal involvements every single game, or in other words, he produces one every 52.32 minutes.

It is this simply sensational rate of return, combined with the kind of hype that has seen Mattinson describe him as "one of England's best talents," that makes comparisons to Yamal seem so easy.
