In a recent report, talkSPORT mentioned that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo. It has been stated that Spurs would have to compete with Manchester United in the race to land the Ghana international next year.

Semenyo’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Semenyo has made a decent start to this Premier League campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for the Cherries in the final third. The 25-year-old has scored six times and earned three assists in eight matches for Bournemouth this season on all fronts.

The Ghanaian sensation has caught the eye with his contributions in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 2.29 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has kept 50% of his attempts on target. However, Semenyo needs to improve his ball distribution in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 67.1% in league football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get a deal over the line for him on the cheap next year.

Will Semenyo Be A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur?

Semenyo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Ghanaian talent can shoot the ball with power from long range. He can even contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the wide areas. Semenyo is primarily a right-winger but can also perform as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if needed. He has already proven himself in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club.

We can expect Semenyo to add more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Thomas Frank’s attack. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the coming years.

At 25, Semenyo has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Spurs to pursue this January or at the end of this campaign.

Tottenham Hotspur’s majority owners, ENIC Group, have injected £100m of new capital into the club in a move designed to strengthen its financial foundation and support long-term sporting growth, BBC Sport reports.

The investment, announced on Wednesday, comes from the Lewis Family Trust, which controls ENIC and holds an 86.58% stake in the north London club. The remaining shares are owned by a group of minority investors. Spurs said the new funding will “equip the club’s leadership team with additional resources to continue the focus on driving long-term sporting success.”

The Lewis family’s influence has grown markedly in recent months following a period of boardroom reshuffling, including the departure of former chairman Daniel Levy in September. Although Levy retains a 29.88% stake in ENIC, he no longer holds any operational role at the club.

A source close to the Lewis family described the £100m as “initial additional funding,” adding that further investment could follow depending on the club’s strategic requirements. “The Lewis family is committed to backing the club to be successful,” the source said.

The injection comes amid speculation over potential takeover bids, with American tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick’s bid the latest to be rejected, with Tottenham reiterating that the club is not for sale.

A US consortium has launched a £4.5 billion takeover bid for Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Sun.

Tech entrepreneur Brooklyn Earick is heading a 12-man group that has lodged the offer to acquire the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club.

Earick is offering £3.3bn to buy out the current Spurs owners – ENIC and the Lewis family.

The proposed new Tottenham owners are also ready to set aside a further £1.2bn for transfers.

Earick has also lined up a £250m stadium naming rights deal for Spurs, with the club currently without a sponsor for their ground since opening it in 2019.

The 41-year-old has assembled a consortium that includes NFL and NBA investors to back his vision for Tottenham.

Andrew Ashcroft recently purchased 8,023,942 shares in the North London club, which represents a 3.4% stake in Tottenham.

The price has not been disclosed but the shares are likely to have cost around £100 million based on recent valuations of Spurs.

Earick will be meeting that valuation with his offer but whether the majority owners of Tottenham will be open to selling remains to be seen.

ENIC owns 86.58% of Spurs, with former chairman Daniel Levy and his family owning 29.88% of those shares.

Spurs minority shareholders own the remaining 13.42% of the club between them, but Earick is only keen on the majority shares.

The former DJ, who also once worked for NASA, started initial discussions with the Spurs hierarchy – including Levy – some months ago.

Talks have accelerated since Levy left, and it is believed the former chairman was the impediment to a sale because of his desire to remain at the helm even in the event of a takeover.

Earick wants a takeover completed by December to allow him to splash the cash during the January transfer window and hit the ground running.

However, it could take months before everything is finalised if Spurs current majority owners agree to sell, and the fans will be hoping a takeover happens.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recruitment team have adjusted their January transfer priorities following Manchester City’s refusal to part ways with Brazilian winger Savinho. According to a report from Football Insider, Spurs initially viewed the wide areas as an urgent need, but Thomas Frank now appears satisfied with the options available in his squad.

“Spurs tried for Savinho in the summer, but weren’t able to get a deal done as City blocked that,” the report revealed. With their primary target unattainable, Tottenham identified Sevilla’s talented forward Ruben Vargas as a potential alternative. The Swiss international has been a standout performer in La Liga and remains under contract until 2029, a factor that would command a significant transfer fee.

“It’s an interesting one,” the podcast analysis added. “Vargas is a player who’s done really well for Sevilla, Swiss international as well. So he’s obviously, I think, attracting interest from a number of clubs, not just Tottenham.”

Despite this admiration, Football Insider stressed that Vargas is unlikely to be pursued aggressively in January. Tottenham’s capture of Xavi Simons, along with the presence of Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel and Richarlison, provides ample cover in the wide positions.

The arrival of Simons, widely seen as one of the most exciting attacking midfielders of his generation, has shifted the dynamics of Spurs’ forward line. His versatility, combined with the form of other young attackers, gives Frank a wealth of choices on both flanks.

“Spurs are quite well-stocked out wide after they got a deal done for Simons, who plays in the same position as Vargas,” Football Insider explained. The squad balance has effectively removed winger recruitment from the top of Tottenham’s mid-season agenda.

Attention now turns to central midfield. Football Insider recently reported that Spurs are admirers of Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, although Atletico Madrid’s interest in the player complicates matters. In addition, James Maddison’s injury has exposed the lack of depth in creative midfield roles, something Frank is keen to address.

Yves Bissouma’s future also remains uncertain. “West Ham and Everton are interested in Yves Bissouma, who could be allowed to leave Spurs in January,” Football Insider confirmed. Should the Malian midfielder depart, Frank will be under pressure to secure a suitable replacement in order to keep Tottenham’s top-four challenge on track.

Frank’s approach demonstrates a measured and pragmatic stance towards recruitment. Rather than stockpiling wide forwards, he is prioritising balance across the squad, particularly in areas weakened by injuries or potential departures. While Vargas remains a name of interest, Tottenham’s attention will likely shift towards midfield reinforcements once the January window opens.

From the perspective of a Tottenham supporter, this report raises intriguing questions about how Thomas Frank intends to shape the squad. The pursuit of Savinho made sense, as he is a dynamic young talent, but City’s reluctance to sell was always a stumbling block. Turning to Ruben Vargas showed that Spurs were prepared with alternatives, but fans may feel a sense of relief that Frank is not pushing ahead with another winger at all costs.

The arrival of Xavi Simons feels like a mini transfer coup. His adaptability allows Spurs to vary their attacking shape and he offers creativity as well as goals. That is exactly the type of player Tottenham have needed since Eriksen’s departure. With Odobert and Tel also providing depth, the wide positions look strong.

Where the concern lies is in midfield. Maddison’s injury last season exposed a glaring weakness, and Bissouma’s possible exit could make things even more complicated. Gallagher would be an exciting addition, but his situation is tangled with Atletico’s interest. Supporters will be eager to see if the club are bold enough to land a midfielder who can carry the ball, dictate tempo and create chances.

If Frank can secure one high-quality midfielder, Spurs will be far better equipped to maintain momentum across the second half of the campaign. Recruitment looks smarter and more strategic compared with previous windows, which is encouraging, but fans will expect action in January rather than hesitation.

Sergio Reguilon’s name continues to circulate across Europe as clubs search for late reinforcements in a stretched season. Available on a free transfer since leaving Tottenham in July, the Spaniard has drawn consideration from Everton, though his future may well lie away from the Premier League.

Everton’s Interest Weighed Against Spain Return

Football Insider revealed that Everton had considered the 28-year-old following injuries in both full-back roles. “Everton could be forced into the free agent market after suffering injuries in both full-back spots,” the outlet wrote on 16 September.

Yet interest is tempered by practicalities. With Vitaliy Mykolenko regaining fitness and featuring in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, David Moyes may feel less urgency to act. While Mykolenko’s return was far from flawless, it offered stability and reduced immediate pressure to dip into the free agent pool.

As Football Insider highlighted, Sevilla and Real Sociedad lead the race. “Right now, I think probably more likely is that maybe Reguilon could end up returning to his native Spain, where there’s been talk of interest from his old club Sevilla and Real Sociedad as well,” it was said on the Inside Track podcast.

Reguilon’s time in England has been far from straightforward. “He’s had a disappointing couple of years, Reguilon, after he couldn’t establish himself in the Spurs team,” the Inside Track podcast observed. It leaves him as one of ten notable free agents still searching for a home. His availability remains a temptation for clubs wrestling with defensive shortages, but his reputation requires rebuilding after a period of uncertainty.

Everton’s situation complicates matters. Despite links to Reguilon, the Merseyside club are intent on protecting their core players. Football Insider revealed on 21 August that Everton will not consider offers for Jarrad Branthwaite despite ongoing interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.

With Mykolenko fit again and Adam Aznou still settling, Everton’s transfer priorities could shift towards midfield depth and forward options rather than an emergency left-back solution. For Reguilon, that means the Goodison Park door may not swing open after all.

Free agency often demands patience. As Football Insider stressed, “a lot will depend on whether any Premier League clubs are in desperate needs of reinforcements at the back due to injury issues.” If a crisis emerges, the Spaniard could yet be an attractive short-term option.

Until then, his most realistic path appears a return to Spain. The lure of familiar surroundings and the chance to re-establish himself at Sevilla or Real Sociedad may prove decisive. “So I think that’s probably going to be more likely for Reguilon if he is to move soon,” the podcast concluded.

As an Everton supporter digesting this report, there is a mix of relief and scepticism. Relief comes from the return of Vitaliy Mykolenko, who may not have sparkled against Liverpool but still represented a significant boost after weeks of uncertainty. His fitness eases the urgency of throwing money, or in this case wages, at a short-term free agent gamble.

Scepticism arises around Reguilon himself. His time in England has been underwhelming, and while he brings La Liga pedigree, it is difficult to forget the struggles at Spurs, United and Brentford. Free transfers are often labelled as low-risk, but wages and squad disruption carry hidden costs.

For many fans, the thought of Sevilla or Real Sociedad taking him back feels more logical than him stepping into a relegation battle at Goodison Park. Everton need leaders who can hit the ground running, not players still trying to rediscover themselves.

Should another defensive injury occur, minds could change quickly. Until then, supporters are likely to prefer resources being channelled into longer-term solutions, particularly with the club fighting battles on and off the pitch. Reguilon might still resurface in England, but for Everton fans it feels like one that got away without much regret.

Spurs recalled Kit Graham from her lengthy extended injury absence, and new recruit Toko Koga impressed on her league debut.

Tottenham Hotspur began brightly, winning a succession of early corners, but neither side were able to fashion clear-cut chances. Despite numerous shots from range, only one shot on target was recorded in the first 45 minutes.

West Ham’s second half began badly as goalkeeper Kinga Szemik left the pitch injured and was substituted for Megan Walsh in the 56th minute. Soon after Ffion Morgan came on in her first match for the visitors. Meanwhile, Cathinka Tandberg came on for Spurs following her summer move from Hammarby.

For Tottenham Hotspur, Kit Graham had the comfort of home support as she returned from injury. Olga Ahtinen and Lenna Gunning-Williams arrived to shake the attack up. Koga impressed at the other end with her pace and composure, providing the defence with a stability that had far too often been lacking last season.

West Ham made further alterations, yet it was Spurs who hit late. It came in the 85th minute when West Ham’s captain Katrina Gorry brought down Eveliina Summanen inside the box. Captain Bethany England converted the penalty with a decisive right-footed strike into the far corner.

Tottenham stayed resolute in stoppage time, with England coming off for Charlie Grant in the 98th minute, and held on to confirm the three points in front of 1,735 fans.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie has revealed his ‘dream’ to play with Italy at the World Cup, after admitting ‘it was a blow’ to miss the European Championships last summer.

Speaking in a lengthy interview with VivoAzzurroTV, with quotes via TMW, Udogie opened by explaining how his footballing journey began: “I was at a tournament in Nogara, where I lived, and there were several scouts – from Atalanta, Milan and Hellas Verona. I remember the one from Atalanta stopped my coach and asked how old I was. He replied that I was born in 2002 and the scout didn’t believe it was because I was already a bit bigger than the other guys. My father had to show him my documents and told him I was born here in Italy – and then he believed it! [Laughs]”

Udogie’s youth career began with Hellas Verona in 2017 – where he spent four years before his move to Udinese. Udogie made just six Serie A appearances with the Veronese side before moving to Udinese on loan with an obligation to buy. After spending just one season with Udinese, Premier League side Spurs snapped up the full-back for €20 million – immediately loaning him back to the Udine side for another season.

Spurs lifted the Europa League in 2024-25, beating fellow Premier League side Manchester United in the final in Bilbao. When asked about the victory, Udogie said “Yes, it’s my first trophy. Winning something so big is an incredible feeling because it’s every child’s dream when they start playing. When you play football, you want to represent your country, and I’ve always dreamed of playing for the national team – doing it in big stadiums in front of your fans!”

Udogie’s dream of playing for Italy on the biggest stages was brutally delayed due to an injury he suffered in his first full season with Tottenham, missing out on last summer’s European Championships where reigning champions Italy were knocked out by Switzerland in the Round of 16.

When asked how it felt to miss the EUROs, Udogie said that “It was a real blow because everything was going so well – both with Tottenham and the national team. Of course, you want to play at the Euros, it’s a major tournament and you want to be there with the squad. I had a leg problem, I had surgery and, yeah, it hurts. But I believe everything happens for a reason, so I reacted calmly and just kept going.”

Finally, Udogie was asked what it would mean to play at the World Cup: “It would be more than a dream. As a kid, you watch the TV and think ‘one day I want to be there!’ Now that I have the chance to get there, I think of it as a goal more than a dream. I really want it to happen and I want to experience it to the fullest!”
