Description

Ng Wing-Fai and Brooklyn Earick are teaming up to buy out Daniel Levy’s stake in Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Sun. The duo failed with individual bids to buy the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club and are now looking to work together. Levy wants around £1 billion for his 29.9 per cent stake in Spurs, and a sale could put owners ENIC under more pressure. British business executive Amanda Staveley is also mulling a fresh bid next month after her investment vehicle – PCP International Finance – were linked with a potential Tottenham takeover at the beginning of the campaign.

Earick headed a 12-man group that had planned to lodge an offer to acquire the North London club in a £4.5bn deal. He was keen to offer £3.3bn to buy out the current Spurs owners – ENIC and the Lewis family – through a US consortium. Earick also claimed they were ready to set aside a further £1.2bn for transfers and line up a £250m stadium naming rights deal for Spurs. However, he withdrew his bid despite several meetings with Douglas Armstrong, the Lewis family’s legal counsel.

Hong Kong businessman Wing Fai also led a consortium that wanted to offer the Tottenham owners a deal. While they are both prevented from making a bid or attempting a takeover for six months – a period which runs out on March 6 – under Takeover Panel rules for withdrawing their separate bids, they are not prevented from purchasing Levy’s stake. It is marginally below the 30 per cent threshold which would demand a full bid.

Report: Tottenham Hotspur eyeing summer move to sign Ligue 1 sta - OneFootball
Description

Tottenham keep summer options open despite quiet deadline

Tottenham Hotspur will not complete a late move for a Ligue 1 attacker before the window closes, but sources maintain that a deal remains possible later in the year. The original report from TeamTalk indicates that Spurs have stepped back from deadline activity, even as they continue to assess summer targets.

Deadline day caution amid injury strain

This final day has felt underwhelming for Tottenham Hotspur, particularly given a stretched squad and a demanding fixture list. Despite owners ENIC adding £100m to bolster options for Thomas Frank, no further major incomings or outgoings are expected before the 7pm cut off. Only Conor Gallagher and Souza have arrived, while plans for a new left winger and striker never progressed.

Akliouche linked but timing proves decisive

One name repeatedly discussed was Maghnes Akliouche of AS Monaco. Reports suggested a deal could be struck late, but Monaco’s stance made that unlikely. Miguel Delaney noted that Monaco would not consider a sale without securing a replacement first. Tom Barclay then ruled out a deadline move, writing on X: “Understand Tottenham will not be signing Magnes Akliouche. From what I’m led to believe, he was viewed as a secondary No 10 option to Xavi Simons in the summer. Yes, Spurs have been playing with two No 10s of late but I’m told they won’t be signing MA.”

Photo IMAGO

Summer picture shapes priorities

Akliouche remains a player admired internally and a summer approach has not been dismissed. Yet context matters. By then, Maddison, Kulusevski, Bergvall and Kudus are expected back, creating potential congestion in attacking areas. Akliouche’s tendency to operate on the right or centrally may also clash with the club’s longer term need for a left sided option. For now, Spurs have paused, not abandoned, their thinking.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

Spurs fans can see the logic in not forcing a premium January deal, especially with Monaco holding firm, but that does little to ease concerns when the squad is thin and results matter now.

There is also a wider trust issue. Supporters hear about £100m added to the coffers and expect visible action. When plans for a winger and striker barely start, it raises questions about execution rather than ambition. Akliouche sounds like a smart profile, technical, versatile and young, yet the positional fit remains debatable once everyone returns.

Looking ahead, many fans would accept patience if the summer brings clarity and decisiveness. What worries them is drift, targets admired but not secured, windows explained away rather than seized. Spurs fans want to believe that this pause is part of a plan, not another chapter of hesitation, and that when summer comes, the club will move early and with conviction rather than waiting for the final hours again.

Van De Ven, Gallagher And Solanke To Start | 3-4-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Manchester City - OneFootball
Description

Tottenham Hotspur will welcome Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Sunday as they look to secure a win at home in the Premier League. Spurs managed to earn a solid 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt recently, so they would be full of confidence going into this game.

Thomas Frank will opt for the 3-4-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this game. Micky van de Ven, Conor Gallagher and Dominic Solanke will play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Guglielmo Vicario will feature in between the sticks for Tottenham after he kept a clean sheet in his last outing. Kevin Danso, Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven will make up Tottenham‘s back three as they look to maintain a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.

Jun’ai Byfield will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Archie Gray will anchor the midfield along with Conor Gallagher as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

Destiny Udogie will operate as the left-sided wide player, while Djed Spence hopes to prove his worth on the right flank. Both of them will have to make some overlapping runs out in the wide areas.

Pape Matar Sarr and Joao Palhinha will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Xavi Simons will try to make a difference as the left-winger, while Wilson Odobert looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank.

Dominic Solanke will lead the line for the North London club up top. He has to find a way to be a real menace in the final third if Tottenham are to stand a chance of securing a good result this weekend.

Randal Kolo Muani and Dane Scarlett will make up the numbers on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the latter stages of the game if Spurs are in need of a goal by then.

Thomas Frank reveals Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Antoine Semenyo this month - OneFootball
Description

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has revealed that Spurs attempted to sign Antoine Semenyo this month before he moved to Manchester City. The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium club were linked with the Ghana international, but he joined the Etihad Stadium club in a £64 million deal from Bournemouth on January 9. Semenyo has hit the ground running at Man City, with three goals and one assist to his name in four appearances.

He could have been getting those goals for Spurs if they had their way, with Frank revealing the extent the club went in their attempts to sign him.

“The club work relentlessly to try to do the best they can to try to improve the squad, especially Johan (Lange), Fabio (Paritici) and Vinai (Venkatesham), and all the people behind them.

“I mean it, we can’t be too obsessed with short-term fixes that don’t help with the long term, because if we don’t do that, then all the hard work we put in now can be limited for the future.

“And that’s not that we don’t badly want short-term success. I can promise that the Lewis family is super committed to this project; they want to do everything.

“And I will go against my rule, hopefully only once, that there’s no doubt it was clear that the club wanted to sign Semenyo.

“They did everything – I think that’s a clear signal that the Lewis family is very committed. That’s a big signing with finances and all that.

“So that’s the quality of players we’re looking for to improve the squad, and if we can’t find that, then it’s definitely better to take the right decisions.

“Not just saying we’re just getting quality players going forward because we all know it’s not that easy, and I’m sure, for whatever reason, we are not able to get another player or players in this window, then for the summer it’s a big summer ahead, and I’m not in doubt we’ll see big improvements there.”

He has been involved in 37 goals since last term, with 26 goals and 11 assists to his name, and Spurs could do with such an attacker.

Tottenham win in Frankfurt to finish fourth in the league phase | OneFootball

Tottenham win in Frankfurt to finish fourth in the league phase - OneFootball
Description

Tottenham Hotspur finished fourth in the Champions League first phase after a well-earned win away to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Champions League has been a place of refuge for under-fire Spurs boss Thomas Frank with his side often producing their best performances in Europe.

Indeed, the North London side almost took the lead just a few minutes into the game against Eintracht Frankfurt but Xavi Simons's effort was disallowed.

Instead, Tottenham had to wait until the first few minutes of the second period after a well-worked set-piece resulted in Cristián Romero playing in Randal Kolo Muani to finish from a yard out.

One man who Frank has missed for much of this season is Dominic Solanke who scored his first goal for the club in the win over Borussia Dortmund.

The striker did it again against German opposition as he showed his rapid pace to charge through on goal and finish past Kauã Santos in the 77th minute.

That goal essentially sealed the game for Spurs who remain a team that looks far more comfortable in Europe than the Premier League.

Rita Guarino on the new addition who will be available for West Ham United against Tottenham Hotspur | OneFootball

Rita Guarino on the new addition who will be available for West Ham United against Tottenham Hotspur - OneFootball
Description

West Ham United head coach Rita Guarino has confirmed that new loan signing Katie Zelem will be part of the squad for this weekend’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.

England international Zelem joined the Hammers on loan from London City Lionesses last week – and on Friday, Guarino said: “She’s available and I’m happy for that.”

Zelem is a player Guarino knows well, having worked with her at Juventus.

And the coach explained why she wanted to add the 30-year-old to her West Ham squad: “It’s very important to keep these kind of players, more experienced, and so it’s what we need.”

She added: “We need a large numbers of players that can compete during the training to keep the position in the starting 11, so it’s important to have more quality players that can compete for the shirt.”

West Ham grabbed another three points last weekend as they clung on to a 2-1 win over Leicester City. It was additionally important as bottom club Liverpool got their first victory of the season – but it also means the Hammers are now equal on points with Everton, just one place above them.

And they also have an identical record to their next opponents Tottenham over the last six league matches – two wins, two draws and two losses.

However, Tottenham have had an extremely good season right from the off, and sit in fifth place. Guarino knows they will be tough to take points from.

“I always say that every game is important,” she said. “Now we need to follow the energy that we keep with this victory [against Leicester City] and try to do our best in the next games because every point is important in the league to be safe.

“So it’s a tough game [against Tottenham], but we need to try to do our best.”

Juventus Renew Push For Tottenham Forward As Deadline Nears

Juventus have intensified their efforts to prise Randal Kolo Muani away from Tottenham, according to reporting by the Daily Mail, as the Serie A side search urgently for attacking reinforcements. The forward, currently on loan at Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain, has endured a disrupted spell in North London, shaped by injuries and limited opportunities rather than momentum or rhythm.

Photo IMAGO

Kolo Muani was fortunate to escape unhurt following a car accident on the M25 earlier this week, an incident that briefly underlined the unsettled nature of his time in England. On the pitch, the returns have been sparse. He has yet to score in the Premier League, with his only two goals before last night’s opener against Frankfurt coming against parent club PSG in the Champions League, a curious subplot that has only added to the uncertainty surrounding his role.

Injury Pressures Shape Spurs Stance

Tottenham’s position is complicated. Thomas Frank has been clear that he cannot afford to lose players this month given the scale of injuries and issues around UEFA ineligibility. However, there is an acceptance that Spurs would consider business if a clear upgrade in a forward position became available.

Photo IMAGO

The club’s recruitment focus has centred on the left side of the front three, an area that has lacked consistency. Recent tactical adjustments have also shifted the landscape. Frank has moved towards a system featuring wing backs and two number 10s rather than orthodox wide forwards, a tweak that alters how attackers are deployed and valued within the squad.

Mateta Enters The Picture

Those changes have brought Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta into the equation as the deadline approaches. Juventus are among several clubs to have registered interest in the 28-year-old, who has made it clear he wants to be part of Palace’s ongoing exodus. Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and AC Milan have also made enquiries, with Forest reported to have bid £35 million. Villa, meanwhile, have moved on by signing Tammy Abraham from Besiktas.

Photo IMAGO

For Spurs, Mateta offers attributes that Kolo Muani has not consistently provided, namely a reliable goal threat, aerial presence and the ability to share the workload with Dominic Solanke. That dynamic would allow Mathys Tel, who has yet to convince as an out-and-out number nine, to compete with Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons in supporting roles, or operate wider should Frank flex his system again.

Juventus Motivation Clear

Juventus’ urgency is easy to understand. Dusan Vlahovic is injured until March and is expected to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season. Lois Openda has scored only twice since arriving on loan from Leipzig. By contrast, Kolo Muani scored eight goals in 16 Serie A games for Juventus during a loan spell from PSG at the end of last season, a record that continues to resonate in Turin and explains why they are keen to bring him back.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

Kolo Muani has never quite looked settled in North London. Injuries have played a part, but so has the sense that he does not naturally fit what Tottenham need right now. The idea of Juventus circling feels less like a shock and more like an inevitable consequence of a loan that never caught fire.

There is also an understanding that Spurs cannot simply hoard players for the sake of it. If Frank believes the current system demands different profiles, then clinging to Kolo Muani out of fear would be counterproductive. Supporters want clarity and cohesion more than name value, especially in a season already disrupted by absences and tactical recalibration.

The Mateta link will divide opinion. Some will question the price and whether he represents genuine progression. Others will see logic in adding a physical, proven Premier League forward who can occupy centre backs and free space for creators around him. Sharing minutes with Solanke feels sensible, not indulgent.

Ultimately, Spurs fans want decisiveness. If Kolo Muani is not central to the plan, then allowing him to return to Juventus while reinvesting smartly could strengthen the squad rather than weaken it. The priority is balance, goals and availability. Romance can wait until the injury list shortens.
