Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters has the chance of coming back to Tottenham amid strong transfer links

One of the major reasons why Tottenham endured a disastrous domestic campaign was the lack of defensive depth at N17. The Lilywhites faced an injury crisis at the back and most of the first-choice defenders were forced to sit on the sidelines midway through the season. At one point, Ange Postecoglou was also forced to play inexperienced players at the back during crucial games in the Premier League.

The injury crisis at the back ultimately costed Big Ange his job at N17. This cannot continue at Hotspur Way next season as the club looks to kickstart a new era under Thomas Frank. The centre-back position is attracting all the attention in the media, but another important area to focus on is the full-back position.

The Lilywhites need to bring in a new full-back that could compete with Pedro Porro on the right. The Spaniard experienced a ‘stop-start’ campaign last season, and he also lost his place in the starting eleven midway through the campaign. But it is fair to say that the ex-Sporting star fought hard to force his way back into the mix and played a crucial part in helping the club win the Europa League.

Tottenham looking to re-sign Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters

Tottenham are looking to bring in a versatile defender that could play as a make-shift right-back or left-back under Thomas Frank. It was reported earlier that Spurs have identified Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters for that role and are keen to sign the England international on a free transfer in the coming weeks.

Now, reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has also urged Spurs to sign Walker-Peters in the summer. Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast, Gold said,

“The one I do believe they have considered for this summer is Kyle Walker-Peters. He’s had a terrific career, over 200 appearances for Southampton, a Premier League regular for a lot of that. I think he has a couple of England caps as well.”

The journalist added,

“On one side, the full-back spots are pretty busy right now, there are a lot of full-backs there, but as the window goes on, if he’s not been snapped up yet, I can see it as a clever solution, he’s club-trained, he can play on both sides, and from my understanding I think he would love to come back to Spurs as well, they’re his boyhood club.”

Alasdair Gold reveals that Tottenham are looking to sign Kyle Walker-Peters in the summer. The journalist adds that the England international has enjoyed a stellar career with the Saints and has become a regular first-team player for the South Coast club. And Gold has urged Spurs to sign the 28-year-old due to his versatility to play on both sides, as well as, his love for the Lilywhites. He will also be available on a free transfer and wage demands will not be an issue for the North London club.

It is fair to say that signing Kyle Walker-Peters will be a clever move by Daniel Levy. The England international has Premier League experience, and he can comfortably provide cover for Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie. He also thrives as a wing-back and can play in a ‘back five’ system.

Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo has a decision to make as Tottenham and man United fight hard for his signature

Now that the managerial situation at Tottenham is sorted out, Daniel Levy must act fast to bring in some players that would elevate the quality of the squad. The Lilywhites cannot start the new season with the same crop of players after enduring their worst Premier League campaign last season. The North London club needs to be proactive in the summer and back Thomas Frank.

The attacking line needs a revamp in the summer after it became clear that most of the players are way their best. Club captain Heung-Min Son showcased steady decline throughout the season, and the South Korea international also lost his place in the starting eleven as a result of that.

Not only Son, but Mathys Tel also failed to make an instant impact at N17 following his arrival from Bayern Munich in January. But the Frenchman is still young and he still has time to learn his trade at Hotspur Way. His massive potential and high ceiling earned him a permanent deal and fans are eager to see him develop at the club in the coming years.

Tottenham still waiting to land Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer

Tottenham are eager to bring in some quality wide-players that would thrive under Thomas Frank next season. It was reported earlier that Spurs are interested in signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer and view him as an upgrade to what the Lilywhites have on the flanks. However, a deal to sign the Cameroon international is complicated as Manchester United are leading the race for his signature.

But John Wenham believes that Spurs will find a way to win the race for Mbeumo’s services in the coming weeks. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,

“I still think Mbeumo will join Tottenham. Manchester United have already invested heavily in Matheus Cunha. I think they were planning, regardless of what is now reported, to sell Fernandes to Saudi Arabia.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner added,

“However, he turned down that deal, which would have secured United a huge financial windfall. Therefore, I think that is why they’ve been unable to proceed with the Mbeumo deal, and I do think the player will end up at Tottenham.”

John Wenham has suggested that Tottenham will win the race to sign Bryan Mbeumo. The Lilywhite Rose owner added that Man United have already signed Matheus Cunha and were planning to cash-in on Bruno Fernandes in the summer. Wenham insists that the Portugal international’s reluctance to join Al-Hilal will hinder the Red Devils’ chances of signing Mbeumo due to the financial windfall that the club will suffer.

Tottenham have a decision to make regarding the future of Mikey Moore

Tottenham finally have the chance to commence their business in the transfer window now that the managerial situation at N17 is sorted out. The Lilywhites have a lot to cover and need to address some of the problems persisting within the walls of the club as they look to build on the Europa League success next season.

That does not mean that Spurs should only look to sign players in the summer. It also means that the Lilywhites must cash-in on underperforming or fringe players before next season commences. The Thomas Frank era cannot afford to have players that look out of place while playing for the North London club.

Last season saw Tottenham rely on a lot of young talents to bail the club out of difficult situations. Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, and to some extent Mikey Moore played a significant role in helping the club get through crucial games in the Premier League and in Europe. Now, the Lilywhites must focus on sorting out their futures before it gets too late in the transfer window.

Tottenham talent Mikey Moore is linked with a Juventus move

Tottenham are preparing to revamp their squad in the summer, and Mikey Moore seems to be one of the players that will face the axe as the Lilywhites kickstart a new era at N17. It was reported earlier that the England U-21 international is linked with a move to Juventus as the Serie A giants look to target young talents to bolster their squad for next season.

However, ex-Spurs player Paul Robinson believes that Tottenham should ask for a premium fee to let the 17-year-old leave. Speaking to Tottenham News, Robinson said,

“It’s got to be north of £50million for his exit, I think, because of the potential that the young lad’s got. For Tottenham now it’s the same as every other club, it’s the FFP and PSR, and that would represent 100 per cent profit and give them an opportunity to go into the transfer market and get a ready-made Champions League player.”

The ex-player added,

“If you are to sell him, the buyback clause has to go in there, there has to be a first refusal or a price already agreed for a buyback clause.”

Paul Robinson suggests that Tottenham should slam an asking price north of £50m on Mikey Moore due to the youngster’s immense potential. The ex-player added that Spurs should consider the PSR and the FFP rules, and hike up the asking price for the 17-year-old as he would represent a pure profit in the account books. Robinson also suggests that the money received from Mikey Moore’s sale would then be used to bring in a quality replacement for next season.

AS Monaco want €60m for Tottenham-linked Maghnes Akliouche - To The Lane And Back
Description

Tottenham are interested in signing AS Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche

Tottenham Hotspur are aiming high now as they look to build on the Europa League success next season under new boss Thomas Frank.

There is a clear need to address the creativity problems in the squad as the Lilywhites struggled to break down well-drilled defences many times this past season. The players struggled for consistency and the lack of squad depth meant that Spurs lost games by the smallest of margins.

The North Londoners are already playing catch-up in the transfer market, so fans will hope that Daniel Levy acts fast and lands a few quality players quickly before pre-season starts in July. With both Son Heung-min and Richarlison facing an uncertain future at N17, Timo Werner sent back to RB Leipzig and Brennan Johnson often going missing in games despite being the club’s top scorer last season, investing in a wide playmaker who knows how to unlock rigid defences would be the need of the hour.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on AS Monaco attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche. The 23-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign in Ligue 1, bagging five goals and 10 assists in 32 outings. AS Monaco have often had to cash in on their best players in the past, and it now seems increasingly likely that France Under-23 international will be the latest to go down that route.

According to a report from French publication L’Equipe, (h/t GFFN), AS Monaco will allow Maghnes Akliouche to leave if a club presents an offer in the region of €60m. Apart from Tottenham, Nottingham Forest are also interested in the player. However, no offer from either of the Premier League clubs have tabled any offer yet.

A right-winger by trade, Akliouche can play in multiple attacking positions and deliver the goods consistently as demonstrated by his performances for Monaco. A left-footed attacker cutting in from the right would give a different dimension to that of Johnson hugging the touchline or making late runs in the box to score goals.

For a team that will be competing in the Champions League next term, Thomas Frank will need quality options in the starting XI and from the bench, and Akliouche certainly would provide that. His dribbling and capacity to find pockets between the lines in crowded areas can open up spaces for attacking full-backs to exploit. With his flair and off the ball movement, the Frenchman can complement creative talents such as James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski very well.

Tottenham battling Arsenal and Man United for Lucien Agoume - To The Lane And Back
Description

Tottenham are in a three-way battle with Arsenal and Manchester United for the signing of Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume

Tottenham Hotspur’s problems in midfield last season were clear for all to see. They barely controlled and dictated the temp of games under former boss Ange Postecoglou, often making it chaotic.

The players also failed to remain fit and struggled to string consistent performances week in week out in the Premier League. The injury crisis at the club did not help Postecoglou and he was shown the door by Daniel Levy earlier this month. Now, Thomas Frank is the man in charge and he will want to bring some balance and control to the side by stabilising his midfield unit.

Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski were the only midfielders to emerge from last season with some credit. The rest of them were persistently inconsistent, especially Yves Bissouma. On course to enter the final year of his contract, Bissouma is expected to be sold this summer. If the Malian international is cashed in, the Hotspur Way chiefs must sign a competent replacement before the 2025/26 season commences.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham are in a three-way battle with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United for the signing of Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume. At this stage, Arsenal are frontrunners to sign the 23-year-old, having scouted him multiple times this past season.

Lucien Agoume, who joined Sevilla from Inter Milan for €8 million last year after a loan spell, featured in all but three of the Spanish side’s league games last season. He received praise for his defensive prowess, physicality and ability to anchor the midfield, while also contributing with a goal and three assists for Sevilla. Following his eye-catching displays, both in La Liga and during loan spells at Troyes and Brest, the Frenchman has drawn comparisons with his compatriot and 2018 World Cup winner N’Golo Kante.

The aforementioned report adds Sevilla are going through financial difficulties and they could be under pressure to sell Agoume, with Inter Milan inserting a 50% sell-on clause in his contract. They want a fee closer to £20m to earn a profit, but could be compelled to settle for less due to their precarious financial situation.

The defensive midfielder has been performing well for France in the Under-21 European Championships, so there are high chances of his stock rising before the tournament ends. While Arsenal are leading the race for his signature, Tottenham must not give up on their pursuit of Agoume.

Due to his ability to dictate play from deep and break up opposition’s play, Agoume would be an instant upgrade on the error-strewn Bissouma. The former Inter Milan man represents a relatively low-risk target for the Lilywhites with significant upside, a player who would not only compete with the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pape Matar Sarr but also add much-needed depth to their squad.

“Don’t quite get”- Ex-player wants improvement next season as Tottenham aim for more trophies under new manager - To The Lane And Back
Description

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank must look to finish strong in the Premier League as the club kickstarts a new era at N17

Tottenham are in a very tricky situation following the Europa League success the club endured last month. The Lilywhites went through all the highs and lows in the same season under Ange Postecoglou. From finishing just a place above the relegation zone in the Premier League… to becoming European champions at the end of the campaign, Spurs fans went through all the emotions as months went by.

Now, the North London club has a massive chance to kickstart a new era at N17 under Thomas Frank. The Lilywhites clearly cannot finish any worse than 17th in the league, so whatever they achieve in the Premier League will be seen as an improvement. That does not mean that the Danish tactician gets a free pass in his first season with the club.

The ex-Brentford boss has massive shoes to fill in at N17 after replacing the manager who ended the Tottenham’s 17-year wait for a major trophy. The Europa League success was not enough for Big Ange to save himself from the sack, so Thomas Frank must aim higher if he wants to survive at Spurs with Daniel Levy watching on from close quarters.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank needs to build on the UEL success

Daniel Levy has come out with all guns blazing and suggested that Tottenham are aiming to win the Premier League and the Champions League in the near future. This statement will not do any favours for Thomas Frank as he will be under pressure to get positive results from minute one. However, the realistic approach should be that the North London club show slow progress and climb up the Premier League table steadily.

Now, ex-Spurs player Darren Bent has also given his verdict on what Tottenham need to aim next season. Speaking on talkSPORT (via X), Bent said,

“I don’t quite get what the barometer is because they were appalling in the league last season, but they did win a cup. So, if Thomas Frank comes in and they don’t win a cup this year and he finishes 10th, are they gonna pat him on the back and say ‘good job’? No.”

The ex-player added,

“So what is the barometer for Thomas Frank at Tottenham? I’d target another cup. I understand that Daniel Levy is going to want them in the Champions League. But I agree they should target domestic cups. But if you don’t win another cup and they finish 10th, do you sit and applaud? No.”

Darren Bent has suggested that he does not understand what can be considered as a successful first season for Thomas Frank at N17. The ex-player adds that Daniel Levy and the fans will not be happy if Spurs finish 10th in the league and not win a cup in the Dane’s first season. Winning the Champions League will be an unrealistic expectation, but Darren Bent insists that Thomas Frank should aim to finish in the top-half of the Premier League table, and also win a domestic cup competition if he wants to remain at the helm at N17.

Tottenham-linked Marcus Rashford ready to take pay cut to facilitate move away from his boyhood club Manchester United

Tottenham Hotspur are heading into a new era under Thomas Frank, and they will be looking to bolster their squad this summer.

After last year’s chaotic season, Spurs desperately need reinforcements in almost every area of the pitch. And there are a few interesting players that have emerged on the North London club’s radar. They are keen on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, while Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney has been linked to Spurs as well.

However, perhaps the most interesting transfer story coming out of Tottenham in recent times has been regarding Manchester United star Marcus Rashford.

Marcus Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan during the January transfer window after Ruben Amorim made it clear that he was no longer part of his plans at Manchester United. The 27-year-old showed signs of renaissance at Aston Villa, netting two goals and suppling as many assists in 10 Premier League games, but lack of funds have meant that the Midlands club have not been able to sign him permanently.

It has left the England international’s future at Old Trafford uncertain, with Spurs emerging as one of the clubs that could provide him with an escape route from Man United. One possible hurdle for the Lilywhites to overcome in their pursuit of Rashford is that Daniel Levy would not be willing to match the forward’s £325,000-a-week current wages.

However, the Wythenshawe-born star is open to take a pay cut to facilitate a move away from his boyhood club this summer. The Man United outcast will need to take a massive pay cut for Daniel Levy to consider signing him, with Spurs skipper Son Heung-min currently taking home just under £200,000-a-week.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King, however, does not want Tottenham to sign Rashford as he is not fully convinced whether he is the right fit or not.

Rashford remains out of favour with Amorim ahead of new season. The Englishman’s wages of above £300,000-a-week would understandably be challenging for a lot of clubs after his stock has plummeted in the last 15 to 18 months.

Tottenham explore move for Southampton star Kyle Walker-Peters - To The Lane And Back
Description

Tottenham remain keen on re-signing Kyle Walker-Peters on a potential free transfer from Southampton

Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Thomas Frank as their new head coach. The Dane has replaced Ange Postecoglou and will be looking to bring in his players from former club Brentford.

Yoane Wissa is a player Thomas Frank wants at White Hart Lane, but the new Spurs gaffer is looking at other players as well to strengthen his squad. The North Londoners certainly need some help in defence, especially after last term’s lacklustre performances and injury issues.

Kevin Danso has been signed permanently from RC Lens after he did well on loan during the second half of 2024/25 season, but Cristian Romero’s uncertain future at the club means Daniel Levy is in the hunt for reinforcements in central defence. The Spurs honcho also is eyeing a fresh face in the full-back department after the release of Sergio Reguilon, which has left the current boss with just three recognised players in that position.

Several full-backs have been linked with a move to Tottenham in recent months, including Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters.

Kyle Walker-Peters left Spurs in 2020, initially on loan to Southampton before moving there permanently. He has gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Saints. However, the Englishman sees his contract expire on June 30 (Transfermarkt), and then, he will be free to find another club as his Southampton future hangs in the balance.

Now, according to a report from Football London, the main reason behind Tottenham’s willingness to sign Walker-Peters on a potential free transfer from the Saints is to add another club-trained player to their Champions League squad. Currently, they have just one club-trained player in goalkeeper Brandon Austin.

The England full-back was a part of the Tottenham academy from 2013 to 2015 before graduating to the senior squad. He made 24 first-team appearances in all competitions, enjoying his breakthrough under former boss Mauricio Pochettino. At Southampton, Walker-Peters has become one of their best players in recent years. He was one of the rare bright spots in an otherwise torrid campaign for the South Coast club that ended in relegation this past term.

As Walker-Peters is interested in a return to North London, Spurs can take their time in getting other areas sorted before landing his signature. On a potential free transfer, the 28-year-old could prove to be an extremely valuable acquisition for Frank.

Tottenham keen on signing Sporting Charleroi star Adem Zorgane - To The Lane And Back
Description

Sporting Charleroi midfielder Adem Zorgane has emerged as a target for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are finally looking to make moves in the transfer window following the arrival of new boss Thomas Frank.

Spurs have already wrapped up the signings of Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel on permanent deals, with both players impressing on loan last term. But now, the Lilywhites are eager to invest in new faces to back Thomas Frank ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Lilywhites need to strengthen in almost all areas of the pitch, but the midfield unit needs a revamp urgently. Under Ange Postecoglou, the central midfielders struggled to control games regularly. Experienced players failed to perform in the middle of the park when it mattered the most, with youngster Lucas Bergvall standing out.

Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur are entering the final year of their contracts. Spurs are planning to cash in on Bissouma rather than hand him an extension. Selling the Malian international would create space in the squad for a fresh face to come in and compete.

Now, according to a report from French outlet DZ Foot, Tottenham are interested in signing Sporting Charleroi midfielder Adem Zorgane. The 25-year-old is valued at nearly €10m, with Belgian giants Royal Antwerp also keen on his services.

Signed from Paradou AC in 2021, Adem Zorgane has been a consistent performer for Sporting Charleroi and racked up 140 appearances, netting 10 goals and registering 25 assists. He enjoyed a strong 2024/25 season, making five goal contributions in 30 league appearances.

After spending four years with Sporting Charleroi, the Algerian international has recently expressed his desire to leave. Charleroi CEO Mehdi Bayat has also admitted that the player will have to leave at some point in the near future. The aforementioned report adds Tottenham scouts were particularly impressed with Zorgane’s display against KVC Westerlo in May, when Charleroi bagged a 4-3 win and their star skipper registered a crucial assist.

Tottenham should have no concerns matching Charleroi’s €10m valuation of Zorgane. Strong, agile and physical, the Algerian is an excellent ball-winner and covers a lot of ground for his team. He is tenacious in the challenge and keeps things simple in the middle of the park. The 25-year-old is the kind of profile Spurs are missing, someone who can sit in front of the defence and dictate the tempo of games.

Tottenham winger Manor Solomon wanted by Burnley - To The Lane And Back
Description

“Burnley are now interested in signing Solomon,” Mick Brown exclusively told Tottenham News.

“A few of their better players have been linked with moves away, which is a concern, but they want to strengthen the squad as well. Scott Parker is looking at attacking reinforcements and he is on their list.

“Of course, the interest from Leeds is there because he had a very successful loan spell with them. Those two aren’t going to be the only interested clubs because of how impressive he was.

“It doesn’t look like he’ll be a regular for Tottenham, so they can provide the opportunity to play regularly in the Premier League which might tempt him to move. From Spurs’ point of view, it will depend on which club makes the best offer.”
