Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have decided against sending Will Lankshear out on loan.

Tottenham are home to some of the most exciting young players in the Premier League. They have not only done impressive work at their academy in recent seasons but have also significantly enhanced their recruitment of young talent. They have added Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert to their first-team squad in the ongoing transfer window.

Apart from the summer signings, the North London club already have Jamie Donley, Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear. The 19-year-old English striker is the one who has been the talk of the town of late. Reports suggest Lankshear could be sent out on a season-long loan but according to Alasdair Gold,

Spurs have decided against sanctioning his departure. He will continue at the club, train with their first team and feature regularly for their Under-21 team.

While speaking on Football London, Alasdair Gold said in a Q&A on Football London: “First up, Will needs to recover from a hamstring injury suffered in the Trophy match on Tuesday night. I think the results of the scans on that should be available today (Thursday). Hopefully, it’s nothing bad but we’ll find out.

“I think there’s the potential for Will to get minutes in the Europa League and Carabao Cup in the next couple of months before making a decision in January about a loan move. I know Spurs have been telling clubs so far this summer that he’s not heading out.

“We’ll see if there’s any shift late in the window but it makes sense to continue his integration with the squad while playing U21s games at times after just breaking into the first team group.”

The teenage attacking sensation had an exceptional 2023/24 campaign for Spurs’ academy. He was involved in a total of 26 matches and ended up scoring 25 goals. His performances helped him be a part of Ange Postecoglou’s pre-season squad. Lankshear managed to impress one and all with his performances and it resulted in significant interest in his services from the Championship.

But, Spurs have decided that it is best for all parties if he continues at the club. They have informed the interested clubs that he is going nowhere this summer. Gold feels Tottenham will try to integrate him into their first team while he continues to play for the Under-21s. They will try to hand him regular minutes but if they fail, Postecoglou’s team could then look to loan him out in the winter.

Good luck, Ash! 🙌

Phillips previously spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle last season, where he made a notable impact in his 20 appearances by helping the club avoid relegation and earning the Young Player of the Season award.

His impressive performances have solidified his status as a rising talent within Tottenham’s ranks.

After a productive pre-season with Spurs’ first team, Phillips is enthusiastic about this next step in his development.

He expressed his eagerness to contribute to Stoke City’s campaign and help the club push up the Championship table.

Phillips also highlighted how his time training and playing alongside Tottenham’s senior squad has prepared him for the challenges ahead; and likely so playing alongside top defenders including Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Radu Dragusin.

For Stoke City, Phillips is expected to bolster their defensive lineup as they aim to improve their standing in the Championship.

Meanwhile, Tottenham views this loan move as an important opportunity for Phillips to continue his growth and return to North London as a more seasoned and polished player.

As Phillips embarks on this important chapter in his career, Spurs supporters will be following his progress, optimistic that their young defender will thrive at Stoke and eventually make a strong return to Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze this summer.

The 26-year-old England international was outstanding for the Eagles last season and he scored 11 goals and picked up four assists in the league. Spurs were reportedly keen on signing him, but they have now decided to cool their interest in the attacking midfielder.

They are well-stocked in the attacking areas and Tottenham have decided to focus on signing a central midfielder and a central defender, as per Football Insider.

Spurs need to add more depth and quality to their side. They are chasing Champions League qualification and domestic trophies. Signing a midfielder and a defender could prove to be a wise decision.

Tottenham need more options in the midfield after the departure of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. At the back, they have three quality central defenders in Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin and Micky van de Ven. Signing another defender could compete their defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

As for Eze, he will want to compete at the highest level as well. He will look to play for top clubs and joining Tottenham would have been a tempting option for him. It will be interesting to see if any other club is willing to provide him with an exit route this summer.

Eze is certainly good enough to play for any club in the league and he would add goals and creativity to the side. He is versatile enough to operate in multiple attacking roles as well. Whoever ends up signing him would have an asset on their hands.

Barcelona are keen on signing Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur.

According to a report from Football Insider, Reguilon is ‘certain’ to leave the North London club this summer in search of regular playing time.

The 27-year-old is not a key player for Spurs and they have Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies ahead of him in the pecking order. Reguilon was on loan at Brentford and Manchester United last season and he needs to leave in order to play more often and get his career back on track.

A move to Barcelona would be an exciting opportunity for the Spanish defender and it remains to be seen whether the Catalan giants can get the deal done.

Reguilon is in the final year of his contract with Spurs and he could be available for a reasonable price. Barcelona are going through financial difficulties and it would be ideal for them if the Spurs defender is available for a knockdown price.

They need to add more quality and depth to their defensive unit this summer. Marcos Alonso left the Spanish club earlier and Barcelona are looking at a replacement. Reguilon has played in La Liga before and he could be a handy option for the right price.

Meanwhile, the report states that other La Liga clubs are keeping tabs on his situation as well.

It remains to be seen where he ends up eventually. Reguilon should seek game time assurances and he should look to join a club where he will be an undisputed starter.

Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Everton, who are grappling with a severe injury crisis.

According to The Independent, Everton may have only 14 fit senior players available for their upcoming match against Spurs, following a tough start to the season.

The Toffees are dealing with multiple injuries and suspensions after their 3-0 defeat to Brighton in their opener.

Everton’s defensive woes have been exacerbated by recent developments.

Key defender James Tarkowski is now doubtful for the match against Tottenham, and veteran Ashley Young will be unavailable due to a red card received in the Brighton game.

These setbacks further compound the challenges faced by manager Sean Dyche.

Tottenham, having drawn 1-1 with newly promoted Leicester City in their season opener, are eager to secure a win to boost their campaign.

The weakened state of the Everton squad provides Spurs with a promising opportunity to achieve their first Premier League victory of the season.

As Ange Postecoglou’s side gears up for this crucial fixture, Tottenham fans will be hopeful that the club can take advantage of Everton’s difficulties to gain momentum for the season ahead.

Stoke City are in discussions to secure the services of Tottenham Hotspur defender Ashley Phillips before the transfer window closes.

According to the latest report from TEAMtalk, the Championship club has held “positive conversations” regarding Phillips and is in a strong position to finalise a loan deal.

The 19-year-old centre-back, who joined Tottenham in August last year, is highly rated by both clubs.

However, with fierce competition for a first-team spot at Spurs, including established defenders like Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Radu Dragusin, Phillips currently faces limited opportunities under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Last season, Phillips was loaned out to Championship side Plymouth Argyle, where he impressed and was instrumental in helping the team avoid relegation. His contributions were recognised as he won Plymouth’s Young Player of the Season award.

Tottenham are eager for Phillips to continue his development with regular playing time, and a loan move to Stoke City could provide the ideal platform.

Spurs believe that consistent play in the challenging environment of the Championship is crucial for Phillips’ growth as a player.

With the transfer deadline fast approaching, the Potters appear well-positioned to complete the deal. This loan move could offer Phillips valuable first-team experience and help him further develop.

Alasdair Gold shared an update on the striker, confirming that the youngster picked up a hamstring injury. Subsequent scans were to reveal the extent of the injury but the Tottenham correspondent hoped that it is nothing too bad.

While answering a question by a fan on the Spurs Q&A on Football London, Gold said:

“First up, Will needs to recover from a hamstring injury suffered in the Trophy match on Tuesday night.“I think the results of the scans on that should be available today. Hopefully it’s nothing bad but we’ll find out.”

Lankshear has been one of the standout talents in Tottenham’s academy, drawing attention from both manager Ange Postecoglou and the club’s supporters.

Since joining Spurs, the young striker has made a significant impact at the youth level. He debuted for the under-18s in October 2022, scoring twice in a memorable performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers’ youth team.

His contributions in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2 have further solidified his reputation as a rising star.

Last season, Lankshear netted an impressive 23 goals in 23 Premier League 2 games, including a brace in the play-off final against Sunderland, earning him the Player of the Season award.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Middlesbrough’s rising star, Hayden Hackney, as the transfer window approaches its final stages.

According to reports from TBR, Spurs’ scouts have been closely monitoring the 22-year-old midfielder’s performances during the opening games of the Championship season.

The North London club has long been interested in Hackney, with his outstanding displays last season only solidifying their desire to bring him to the Premier League.

Hackney’s growth as a player, coupled with his versatility in midfield, has caught the attention of several top-flight clubs. However, Tottenham appears particularly keen on securing his services.

Despite this mounting interest, Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is determined to keep Hackney at the Riverside Stadium.

Carrick has reportedly made it clear to the club’s board that Hackney is crucial to the team’s ambitions this season.

Hackney, who joined Middlesbrough’s academy at the age of 10, has steadily risen through the ranks to establish himself as a key figure in the first team.

Following a loan spell at Scunthorpe United, where he gained valuable experience despite a controversial six-game suspension, Hackney returned to Middlesbrough and flourished under Carrick’s guidance during the 2022-23 season.

He earned the club’s Young Player of the Year Award and a nomination for the Championship Young Player of the Season. He made 28 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 2 and assisting another 2 across all competitions.

Although Hackney remains under contract with Middlesbrough until 2027, Tottenham’s growing interest suggests they may test the club’s resolve to keep their star midfielder.

Tottenham are plotting a late move for Wolves midfield star Joao Gomes.

The North London club have done some incredible transfer business this summer. They have added Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall to strengthen their midfield further.

While the teenage duo have huge potential and they can surely help them in the long run, neither of them is expected to be a regular starter in the 2024/25 season. With less than two weeks left in the transfer window, Spurs are considering making a move for another midfield star.

According to a report from GMS, Tottenham are considering making a late bid for the services of Joao Gomes. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has already left the club while Rodrigo Bentancur picked up a head injury in their opening game of the season at the King Power Stadium. As a result, Ange Postecoglou is looking to bring in a cover, and he feels the 23-year-old Wolves star could be an ideal fit for them.

Gomes joined the English club at the start of 2023 and he hasn’t looked back since. So far, he has featured in a total of 50 matches and has been a standout performer for them. His ability to feature in a defensive role as well as a touch higher up the pitch is what attracts interest from Spurs.

The North London club have been linked with the Brazilian international for a while now, and they are finally looking to formalise their interest. They are plotting a late swoop to sign him before the end of the deadline day.

While Wolves are reluctant to sell, a bid of around £50 million will surely make them think twice. Spurs have the finances to make it happen, but they could face competition from rival clubs Manchester United and Liverpool who have also been linked to the youngster.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur picked up an injury blow against Leicester City in their Premier League opener.

The 27-year-old Uruguayan international picked up a serious knee injury last season and he missed most of the season as a result of that. The player’s advisor has now revealed that the midfielder had a similar injury last season and the situation is quite haunting for him.

“These negative situations have been haunting him,” Daniel Fernandez revealed to Buysan.

“They are going to do a preventive scan, but he is stable. At that same stage, he injured his knee in 2023.”

Tottenham will certainly hope that the South American midfielder can return to action quickly. He is a key player for the North London club and losing him for an extended period of time could prove to be a major blow.

Spurs will be hoping to secure Champions League qualification this season and they will look to do well in the domestic trophies as well. They cannot afford to lose key players at the start of the season.

They are already lacking in depth when it comes to the midfield unit and losing Bentancur would be a major blow for them. They will certainly hope that the South American can return to action quickly.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old has proven his quality in the Premier League and he is a key player for Tottenham. He will look to get back into action soon and make a defining impact for the North London club. There is no doubt that he has the physical and technical attributes to establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the league, and it remains to be seen all the situation unfolds.
