Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham are interested in the services of Stade Rennais winger Desire Doue.

Tottenham are always on the lookout for opportunities to sign young players who can help them in the long run. They have recently added Archie Gray to their squad and according to Fabrizio Romano via GIVEMESPORT, Stade Rennais teenage winger Desire Doue is a part of their transfer shortlist for this summer.

The 19-year-old forward has had an impressive rise at the French club. He was promoted to their first team in the summer of 2022 and hasn’t looked back since. Over the last two seasons, he has been involved in 76 matches and has contributed towards 15 goals (8 goals, 7 assists). The teenager has played almost everywhere in attack and even in the centre of the park when needed.

His impressive rise has resulted in interest from clubs like Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

While talking about Doue’s future, the Italian transfer expert said: “Bayern are one of the clubs that are monitoring Desire Doue, the talented winger of Rennes.

“He’s a very good player, a very big talent with many clubs interested in several countries – Paris Saint-Germain have been following the player, and Bayern have been in contact also with the people close to the player.

“Also, Tottenham have Desire Doue in their shortlist alongside other targets, and so many clubs are keeping close eyes on this player, because Doue could be one of the names to watch in the next few weeks.”

Ange Postecoglou is keen on adding more firepower to his attack. The Australian manager seeks more depth out wide on the flanks and Doue could be a great addition to the Tottenham squad. He is a part of their shortlist but they will have to battle Bayern and PSG who have been in contact with people close to the player.

The French youth international’s family are going to have a huge say on his future and for now, it seems Spurs are working on a deal to bring him to North London and are expected to make a move in the near future. The 19-year-old’s versatility could be of great help to them and he could become an important part of their first team.

Tottenham are ready to battle Crystal Palace and Brentford for the services of Sunderland sensation Jobe Bellingham.

The teenage sensation came up the ranks at Birmingham before joining Sunderland last summer in a deal worth just £3 million. He had an exceptional debut season for the Championship club and on the back of it, multiple Premier League sides want to sign him.

According to Alan Nixon, Tottenham are keen on signing Bellingham but will face stiff competition from Brentford and Crystal Palace.

The Birmingham graduate was involved in 47 matches last season and contributed towards 8 goals (7 goals, 1 assist). His performances have put him on the radar of Palace and Brentford who have been closely monitoring him but Spurs are the ones who could put forward the most intriguing proposal for the 18-year-old starlet.

The North London club are looking to reinforce their midfield with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Giovani Lo Celso expected to be on the move. They need to add more quality to the centre of the park and believe signing Bellingham could be a great move given his versatility. Manager Ange Postecoglou is an admirer of the teenager and people at the club feel he could be a great addition for the long run.

He is likely to be a squad player in the initial years and Bellingham could provide cover to James Maddison. Given his potential, he could soon establish himself as a starter. They have identified him as a primary target and with Sunderland looking for a fee of more than £20 million, it will be interesting to see if Spurs end up meeting their demands.

Tottenham facing an exiting 2024 Summer Transfer Window - The Boy Hotspur
Description

The summer transfer window looks to be particularly spectacular this summer due to the Euros 2024 competition having the effect of consuming a few weeks in which one might ordinarily expect deals to have been getting underway. The question of player focus is not just about the personnel that clubs would be interested in acquiring, it’s also about all the other moving parts that surround adjusting the shape of Premier League squads.

Betiton Sports provides fans with an excellent overview of choice and value when weighing up individual games and moves in all markets. Numerous sources have claimed that Tottenham are expected to crack on with a move for Crystal Palace’s 25-year-old Eberechi Eze when he returns from the Euros. One potential stumbling block with obtaining the player player is that he is said to have a release clause of £60m in his Eagles contract.

Is Eze a player that Spurs need? The answer to that question is almost certainly yes. He is not just versatile, but he is also in attacking positions but is also a very snappy, inventive player who is willing to make game-changing moves that can upset midfielders and defenders alike. If one were to pick a single adjective for Eberechi, it might well be ‘disruptive’.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has been positively cooing over the Palace stars’ contribution to England’s Euro 2024,

“Eberechi Eze just glides past players and looks like the X-factor. At tournaments, you always get a player who comes out of the blue and becomes a superstar. We’ve seen it at World Cups and Euros over the years. For me, Eze could be that player.”

High praise indeed for the man that last season, he was involved in 31 games across competitions and ended up contributing towards 17 goals (11 goals, 6 assists). While the majority of his appearance came as a number ten, he can feature on the flanks as well. It looks to all depend upon triggering the £60 million release clause in his contract with the Selhurst Park side.

Elsewhere, Ange Postecoglou must have high expectations of business kicking on once the international games have drawn to a close, as the big Aussie clearly had high expectations of marking his mark in this window, with ESPN reporting that Postecoglou was realistic about the scale of change he can achieve in one window but Tottenham have a degree of headroom within the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. Tottenham’s new coach was said to be targeting a new striker and a central midfielder among the potential new additions.

There’s certainly lots to do.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal is on the verge of joining AC Milan, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that Milan are preparing a new bid expected to exceed €15 million to finalise the deal in the upcoming week.

Emerson, who has already agreed to a five-year contract with the Italian side, is keen to make the switch.

Tottenham have been an active club in the transfer market so far, having already secured the signing of Archie Gray from Leeds and working on several other transfers.

They have also been working hard on finalising a transfer away for Emerson Royal, with negotiations with AC Milan ongoing since weeks.

Despite having two years left on his contract, the Brazilian international has struggled to impress manager Ange Postecoglou, leading the club to consider moving him on. Emerson’s wish to join Milan is driven by his desire for more consistent playing opportunities.

Initially signed from Barcelona for €25 million in the summer of 2021, Tottenham initally hoped to recoup a similar amount through this transfer. However, Milan are looking to finalise the deal for slightly less than that figure.

Latest update from Romano claims that a second offer from Milan will be close to just over €15m, a fee which might be agreed by Tottenham as the club hopes to finalise the deal by next week.

He shared the update on X:

Last season, Emerson found it difficult to secure a regular starting position, making 22 Premier League appearances and starting only 11 games. His limited role under Postecoglou has made a move to Milan an attractive prospect.

For Spurs, selling Emerson would help raise funds for additional reinforcements that align better with Postecoglou’s tactical plans.

As negotiations progress, the Lilywhites look forward to the financial and strategic benefits the right-back’s departure could bring.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal is on the brink of joining AC Milan.

According to the latest from journalist Matte Moretto, negotiations for the Brazilian international are reportedly nearing their final stages, with the transfer fee expected to be just under €20 million.

He shared the update on X (translated below):

“Milan is ready to buy Emerson Royal. The negotiations between the Rossoneri club and Tottenham will finally enter its final phase next week. The final figure should be slightly less than 20 million euros.”

Emerson has been a primary candidate for departure leading to the summer transfer window, with Spurs keen to offload the full-back who hasn’t impressed manager Ange Postecoglou.

Despite his ability to cover various defensive positions, Emerson has only made 21 Premier League appearances last season, starting in just 11 of them.

Having joined Tottenham from Barcelona, the 25-year-old’s playing time has been limited, and he does not fit into Postecoglou’s long-term plans. With his contract running until June 2026, the Lilywhites is eager to find a suitable transfer to maximize his value.

AC Milan has shown significant interest and has reportedly finalized personal terms with Emerson. While Barcelona, his former club, was also mentioned as a potential destination, Milan appears to be the most likely next stop for the full-back.

This anticipated move to Italy marks a new chapter for Emerson, who aims to secure more consistent playing time and make a substantial impact in Serie A.

For Tottenham, this transfer would reduce the squad size and provide funds for further reinforcements that align with Postecoglou’s tactical vision for the team.

As negotiations draw to a close, this move not only aids the Lilywhites financially but also supports their strategic overhaul under Postecoglou’s management.

Journalist Kostas Lianos reports that the Lilywhites aim to finalise Doue’s signing as soon as next week.

According to him, the player is a ‘top priority’ for Tottenham who want to sign him by ‘next week’.

However, Spurs faces stiff competition from top clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, all vying for the 19-year-old’s signature.

Doue has made a significant impact in Ligue 1, earning recognition as one of the most promising talents in Europe.

Known for his versatility, the youngster primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also operate on either wing or as a forward. His acceleration, pace, and excellent dribbling make him an offensive force to be reckoned with.

In March this year, Doue made his debut for the France Olympic football team, scoring two goals in a friendly against Cote d’Ivoire, further highlighting his potential.

Tottenham are determined to secure Doue’s services, viewing him as a crucial addition to their squad. The teenager has progressed remarkably within Rennes’ youth academy, joining at the age of five and now standing out in the senior team.

Last season, he made 31 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 17 starts.

With two years remaining on his contract, which he extended last August, Doue’s current market value stands at €30 million.

Tottenham are prepared to invest a similar amount to bring this young talent to North London, enhancing their attacking options.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven continues to shine for the Netherlands in Euro 2024.

Despite not being a regular starter under Ronald Koeman, Van de Ven has made impactful contributions off the bench, featuring in four games.

In the quarter-finals against Turkey, the Netherlands secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory. Van de Ven was introduced as a substitute, playing 17 crucial minutes.

As shown in the following clip, Turkey’s forward sent a dangerous low cross into the box, which goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen managed to parry away in the closing stages.

Tottenham urged to swerve summer move for 24-year-old Premier League attacker

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Pedro Neto.

The 24-year-old has been a key player for Wolves and his performances have attracted the attention of the North London club.

Neto has established himself as a reliable performer in the Premier League and there is no doubt that he would improve them going forward. However, former scout Bryan King feels that Tottenham should look to invest in a quality number nine instead of signing another winger.

King feels that Spurs are already well-stocked in the wide areas, especially with players like Richarlison, Son Heung-min Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski. Tottenham have missed a clinical presence upfront since the departure of Harry Kane and signing a quality striker would certainly improve them.

“They are quite well-stocked in wide areas,” King said to Tottenham Hotspur News.

“Brennan Johnson was signed for big money, Dejan Kulusevski is there and they of course have Son Heung-min also.

“Therefore, they don’t need a wide player, but perhaps they want to make an exciting signing. I still think that signing should be in the number nine position.

“They do need that marquee signing to get supporters excited because, at the moment, supporters aren’t excited.

“The price of everything is going up at the club, and fans need a boost to see that the club mean business. Tottenham in their present state will not challenge for the Premier League.”

The North London club have deployed Son as their centre forward this past season, but they need a specialist goal scorer in their ranks and it will be interesting to see if they decide to bring in a striker this summer.

The North London outfit will be hoping to push for major trophies next season and they will look to secure Champions League qualification as well. Signing a quality goalscorer will certainly help them improve.

It is evident that they have a number of players who were capable of operating in the wide areas, but they are lacking a specialist goalscorer right now. Therefore investing in a reliable number nine certainly makes sense. They have been linked with players like Ivan Toney and Santiago Gimenez in recent months. It will be interesting to see who they end up signing eventually.

Former Tottenham scout feels 27-year-old would be a ‘good’ signing for the club

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for the newly promoted club and he has been linked with a return to his former club.

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King believes that he would be a good squad player for the club and he could be the ideal backup option to Pedro Porro.

“Walker-Peters is a good player,” King said to Tottenham Hotspur News.

“He will certainly have things to offer Tottenham if he were to return to the club. However, Southampton have now been promoted to the Premier League.

“What kind of money would he cost? Would he be a backup for Porro? I’d say he probably would be.

“It is an interesting link, he hasn’t gotten any worse since going to Southampton. He could certainly be a good squad member, that is for sure.”

Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from Tottenham and the North London club will have to replace him quickly. The Brazilian has been a useful squad player and Tottenham cannot hope to head into the new season with just one specialist right back at the club.

Walker-Peters has proven himself in English football, and there is no doubt that he would be a handy option for Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham will be competing in the UEFA Europa league next season and they need a deeper squad in order to do well across multiple competitions

Walker-Peters could make an instant impact in the Premier League. He has played in the top flight in the past and he knows the club well. He could settle in quickly and make an instant impact.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to make a move for him in the coming weeks.

Journalist feels Tottenham’s new arrival will replace 23-year-old in the squad

Dan Bardell believes Tottenham’s new signing Archie Gray will replace Oliver Skipp in the squad.

Archie Gray had an impressive debut season with Leeds United’s first team last summer. He featured in over 50 matches for them and managed to make quite a name for himself. On the back of his exceptional performances in the Championship, Tottenham went hard to sign him and managed to acquire his services in a deal worth up to £40 million.

Journalist Dan Bardell feels Gray is a great addition to the Tottenham squad and he will end up replacing Oliver Skipp in their squad.

While taking to Tottenham News, he said: “I actually think he’ll play more regularly than people imagine.

“It’s interesting because he played a lot of football at right-back and when Spurs are missing their full-backs they found it hard to find someone to do what they do.

“Archie Gray isn’t a full-back but is very adept playing there and stepping up and into midfield. I think he’ll also get a fair amount of game time in the middle of the park so I think it’s definitely an upgrade to the squad.

“Gray probably takes Oliver Skipp’s place in the squad and I think that is a positive for Tottenham’s squad.“

Bardell believes Gray will play a big part in his first season at the club. His versatility could be a huge boost for him as well as Ange Postecoglou. The majority of his appearances for Leeds came as a right-back which suggests he could help Spurs out in a situation where Pedro Porro is unavailable.

Not only can he provide cover at right-back, but the Leeds graduate is also expected to have a significant amount of game time in the centre of the park given the kind of qualities he has. The versatile teenager’s arrival will see Oliver Skipp go further down the pecking order.

Skipp has been a part of the Tottenham setup since 2013, he was promoted to their first team in 2018 but hasn’t been able to establish himself there. Gray’s arrival could actually help the English defensive midfielder look for a move away from the club in search of regular first-team action.
