Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, as per Football Insider.

The 28-year-old came through Manchester United’s academy but struggled to secure his place in the starting line-up. So, he went out on loan on several occasions to play regularly and develop his career.

Since moving to Selhurst Park permanently in 2023, Henderson has flourished in his career, helping his side win the FA Cup and Community Shield last term.

Oliver Glasner’s side enjoyed a stellar start this season but have failed to continue the momentum. Still, Henderson has been displaying promising performances, keeping 13 clean sheets in 35 appearances across all competitions.

Having proven his worth in the Premier League, Henderson has secured his place in the England squad but mainly plays as a backup option.

Now, Football Insider state that Tottenham are interested in upgrading the goalkeeping department following Guglielmo Vicario’s below-average performances this season.

The Lilywhites have identified Henderson as a serious option after being impressed by his recent eye-catching performances. So, they could make a concrete approach to finalise the operation in the summer.

Henderson to Tottenham

However, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2028, Crystal Palace have no intention of parting ways with him and are planning to keep hold of him by tying him down to a fresh term.

With Jean-Philippe Mateta and Glasner set to leave during the offseason, the South London club don’t want to lose any other key figures. Moreover, following Marc Guehi’s departure in the winter window, Henderson has been made the new club captain.

The Englishman, standing at 6ft 2in tall, is comfortable playing out from the back, good in the air, is an excellent shot-stopper, and is also efficient in playing the sweeper-keeper role.

He, valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt, is a Premier League-proven player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. So, Henderson would be a great coup for Tottenham should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure Henderson’s service ahead of next season.

Liverpool could sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven this summer

Liverpool could sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven this summer - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Liverpool’s defence has been short of numbers for much of the season, and has started to wear thin in some of their matches, especially against opponents who are committed to troubling them in the final third as opposed to defending deep.

While the right back position has been compromised due to Conor Bradley’s and Jeremie Frimpong’s injuries, there are simply very few options in the centre of defence as Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk have been extensively used.

Given that doubts are persisting over both their futures at Anfield, it is expected that Liverpool will be in the transfer market for a replacement and as per Topskills Sports UK, they are edging closer to a transfer for Tottenham Hotspur’s Micky van de Ven.

He is expected to depart North London owing to concerns regarding Spurs’ project, and with no Champions League football in sight heading into next season, the Lilywhites will have a hard time holding onto one of their best players.

According to the source, personal terms between Van de Ven and Liverpool are ‘not an issue’, whereas the Merseyside giants also seem to be determined to secure their client. The defender is valued at £57 million on Transfermarkt.

Van de Ven worth a huge investment

Tottenham Hotspur will demand a huge transfer fee for Micky van de Ven, very possibly an amount that could turn out to be a record figure for a defender, given the Dutchman’s qualities, age and his contract validity with them until June 2029.

Nevertheless, Liverpool might be prepared to pay big money for the 23-year-old, who is the ideal replacement for Virgil van Dijk at Anfield and is only bound to get better as he reaches the prime years of his career.

Micky van de Ven has a commanding aerial and physical presence, intelligently reads the game, and is also exceptional in possession with his dribbling, thanks to some rapid pace, as well as passes the ball superbly.

Van de Ven is the perfect package and it comes as no surprise he is prepared to stay in England, where he has a fair few pieces of silverware to pick up. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool end up acquiring him or if Spurs are determined to thwart a move.

Tottenham eye move to sign Sunderland’s Robin Roefs

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs, as per TEAMtalk.

After being impressed by the 23-year-old’s performances for NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie, the Black Cats decided to purchase him last summer.

The Dutchman has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Premier League this season, keeping eight clean sheets with a 71% save rate in 27 appearances.

Roefs has even been helping his side to push for a European place finish, sitting four points behind seventh-placed Brentford.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham have started exploring options to replace Guglielmo Vicario, who has been displaying inconsistent performances this season, and Juventus are showing an interest in signing him.

Spurs have earmarked Roefs as a serious option after being impressed by his recent impressive performances, and could make a concrete approach in the summer.

Apart from the Sunderland star, James Trafford of Manchester City and Brighton & Hove’s Bart Verbruggen are also on the Lilywhites’ wishlist to bolster the last line of defence.

Roefs to Tottenham

Trafford is open to leaving the Etihad Stadium after struggling to secure regular game time this season, having joined from Burnley last summer.

However, Roefs and Verbruggen are key starters for their respective teams, which could make signing them more difficult. As a result, pursuing Trafford may be easier for Tottenham than moving for Roefs or Verbruggen.

Roefs is valued at around £16m by Transfermarkt and still has a contract until 2030. So, Sunderland are in a strong position to demand a sizable amount of money if they are forced to cash-in.

Roefs, standing at 6ft 4in tall, is a left-footed player and is an excellent shot-stopper. Moreover, he is comfortable playing out from the back and is also efficient in playing the sweeper-keeper role.

Roefs is a highly talented player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they purchase him. However, Spurs have surprisingly found themselves in a relegation battle, so signing any of their key targets would be difficult if they ultimately fail to retain their top-flight status.

Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to secure Roefs’ service to replace Vicario in the summer.

Igor Tudor provides injury update Pedro Porro & Kevin Danso - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur interim coach Igor Tudor has revealed that Kevin Danso and Pedro Porro could both return from their lengthy layoffs to feature against Fulham next week.

Positive updates from the treatment room have been scarce for Spurs throughout the campaign, and although Richarlison returned to action against Arsenal, Tudor still has a long list of absentees.

Wilson Odobert has been ruled out for the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament. He joins Pedro Porro (thigh), Dejan Kulusevski (knee), James Maddison (ACL), Mohammed Kudus (thigh), Kevin Danso (ankle), Destiny Udogie (thigh), Lucas Bergvall (ankle), Ben Davies (ankle), and Rodrigo Bentancur (thigh) on a lengthy injury list.

Cristian Romero is also serving the second match of a four-game suspension, delaying Tudor’s plans to deploy his preferred back-three system immediately.

Danso has not featured since the 2-0 Champions League victory away at Eintracht Frankfurt last month due to an ankle problem. After consulting a specialist, he now appears to be on the verge of a comeback.

Porro, meanwhile, has been sidelined since the 2-2 draw at Burnley last month with a hamstring injury.

However, Tudor has now provided a timely boost to the availability of the duo ahead of their clash against Fulham on Sunday at Craven Cottage.

Boost

When asked about the possibility of returning players like Porro and Danso for the trip to West London, the Croatian manager said:

‘Yeah, probably two of them. We hope.

We’re going to see now what is best for the team.’

With just 11 games remaining in the Premier League this season, Tudor will need as many of his players back fit if he is to guide the club to safety.

The former Juventus manager received a baptism of fire in his first Premier League game in charge of Spurs.

After the 4-1 defeat to Arsenal, Tudor became the first Tottenham manager to lose his opening Premier League match in charge since André Villas-Boas in August 2012. The nine managers before him—including interim and caretaker appointments—had all avoided defeat (W6 D3).

Their relegation concerns are also growing, particularly after West Ham picked up a point against Bournemouth on Saturday, leaving Spurs just four points clear of the bottom three.

The upcoming clash against Fulham will be a chance to end what is already their longest winless run within a single season since a run of nine matches in November 2007.

Man Utd & Tottenham eye move to sign Felix Nmecha - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund star Felix Nmecha, as per Sky Germany.

Since moving to Old Trafford from Real Madrid, Casemiro has had a mixed time in the Premier League. Still, he has won the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

This season, the Brazilian has been displaying promising performances, making seven goal contributions in 24 league appearances. Moreover, he has been helping his side mount a top-four charge.

However, the 33-year-old has entered the final few months of his current contract and is set to leave as a free agent at the end of this campaign.

Apart from Casemiro, Man Utd currently have Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo as options to deploy in the deeper midfield positions. However, the Uruguayan hasn’t been able to showcase his best this season, and Mainoo’s existing deal is set to expire at the end of next season.

Now, as per Sky Germany (via TEAMtalk), apart from Casemiro, Ugarte could also leave this summer, as a result, Man Utd are considering signing two new midfielders and have identified Nmecha as a serious option.

However, purchasing the Dortmund midfielder won’t be straightforward for the Old Trafford club, as Tottenham are also interested in him and could make a concrete approach during the offseason.

Battle

With Nmecha set to enter the final two years of his current contract, Dortmund might be open to letting him leave in the summer to make the most profit out of his departure, and have slapped a £52m price tag on his head.

Since moving to Signal Iduna Park from Wolfsburg, Nmecha has established himself as an undisputed starter. He likes to be deployed in the double midfield pivot role but is also comfortable in the box-to-box position.

Nmecha is a highly talented player and has been guiding his side to mount a title charge this season. So, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd or Tottenham should either club purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Old Trafford club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services.

Eze replaces Madueke: Predicted Arsenal XI vs Tottenham Hotspur - football-talk.co.uk
Description

After successive Premier League draws against Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arsenal take on a bruised Tottenham Hotspur side away from home in the North London Derby at 16:30 tomorrow on matchday 27 of the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s men dropped points in their midweek fixture, thereby handing the title fate to Manchester City, who will win the league if they win all their matches. Nonetheless, the Gunners will look for three vital points and get back to winning ways.

Here is how the team might line-up against Spurs.

Goalkeeper – David Raya had a game to forget against Wolves but is expected to retain his place in Arsenal’s team.

Defenders – Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapie have established themselves as mainstays in the full back positions for the Premier League leaders, and are once again likely to feature on the right and left, respectively. Meanwhile, Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba may round off an unchanged back four for the visitors.

Eze back against Tottenham

Midfielders – With Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino injured, Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi are set to be picked in the double pivot for Arsenal once again. There is likely to be one change, however, as £67 million summer signing Eberechi Eze, who scored a hat-trick in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, is expected to play as the number 10.

Bukayo Saka is expected to make the Tottenham game in spite of limping off last time out and might feature on the right wing, with Gabriel Martinelli also in contention to keep his place in the team on the left flank.

Forward – Viktor Gyokeres is expected to lead the line for Arsenal once again ahead of Gabriel Jesus.

Here is how Arsenal may look on paper.

Tottenham Hotspur welcome Arsenal to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on matchday 27 of the Premier League tomorrow at 16:30 local time as the London rivals go head-to-head in the derby.

The fixture will be Igor Tudor’s first outing as the Spurs boss having succeeded Thomas Frank in the dugout after the Dane was sacked following the team’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United a fortnight ago.

Here is how the hosts may line-up for the game.

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario is expected to continue in goal for Spurs.

Defenders – Archie Gray might continue to feature at right back, as could Djed Spence on the left. With Cristian Romero suspended for the Arsenal clash, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin might continue together at central defence.

Tel’s return the only change

Midfielders – Pape Mata Sarr and Yves Bissouma started for Tottenham Hotspur in midfield last time out, with the duo expected to keep their places in the team this time around as well as the defensive midfielder and left midfielder, respectively. Winter signing Conor Gallagher could round off an unchanged trio in the middle of the park for the hosts.

Forwards – Wilson Odobert picked up an injury in the last game, so Mathys Tel could return to the team and get a nod to feature on the right wing. Xavi Simons, meanwhile, is expected to feature on the left side of the offensive department. Dominic Solanke could lead the line for Tottenham having fully recovered from his injury and played extensively of late.

Here is how the Tottenham side might look on paper.

Tottenham Hotspur looking to beat Chelsea to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur looking to beat Chelsea to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have no number 10 in their squad apart from Xavi Simons, whose long-term position is likely to be the left wing with the Lilywhites interested in signing an attacking midfielder with summer fast approaching.

Dejan Kulusevski’s and James Maddison’s injuries have been detrimental for the club considering the duo are two of their most impactful. It remains to be seen how well they can play upon returning to action, therefore making a new signing imperative.

Caught Offside has reported that Tottenham are planning on rivalling Chelsea to sign Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers. The Englishman has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions this season, and could be on the move soon.

Rogers is valued at £100 million by Aston Villa, as per several sources, so Tottenham would need to be prepared to break the bank for him whilst also facing stern competition from Chelsea, and possibly a number of other top clubs from the Premier League too.

Rogers likely to reject Tottenham

It comes as no surprise that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign Morgan Rogers. He has been excellent in Aston Villa’s final third for several seasons now, and his experience in the Premier League means he has already proven his qualities in England.

Having said that, he is also capable of playing effectively down the left flank, so even if Xavi Simons prefers being employed in a more central role, Spurs will have have enough quality in the final third with Rogers on the pitch.

Nonetheless, it is difficult to see them winning the race for his transfer. While they have the finances to get a deal over the line, back-to-back disappointing seasons in the Premier League and absence from European football next season may be dealbreakers.

Chelsea might be the favourites to land the player during the summer transfer window having monitored him over the last few years. The opportunity to play alongside Cole Palmer, a close friend off the pitch, may also significantly influence Rogers’ choice.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United are battling over a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha next summer, according to Fussballden.

Nmecha came through the ranks at Manchester City’s academy as one of the brightest emerging talents in England. With first-team opportunities being difficult to come by, the Germany international moved to Wolfsburg on a free transfer. His performances with Die Wölfe earned him a move to Dortmund in 2023, where he has been an ever-present figure at the heart of their midfield.

Since his move to Signal Iduna Park, the 6ft 2in midfielder has featured in 103 games across all competitions, including 25 in the UEFA Champions League, highlighting his experience in both the domestic and continental top flight.

In the ongoing campaign, the 25-year-old has featured in all 22 Bundesliga games for Niko Kovač’s side and in 33 games across all competitions. While his output has been impressive, with eight goal contributions as a central midfielder, his work rate, creativity and combativeness have particularly caught the eye, and it’s no surprise Premier League clubs are now vying for his signature, as his qualities suit the demands of the league.

According to Fussballden, Nmecha’s homegrown status, having come through City’s academy, makes him an attractive prospect for English clubs, with Tottenham, Chelsea, and Man Utd set to battle for his signature next summer.

Battle

For Spurs, the report adds that the six-cap Germany international’s physical profile is viewed as a good fit for their squad, while scouts from their London neighbours, Chelsea, view him as a viable option for their long-term project, having scouted him over the last five games.

United, on the other hand, have earmarked the 25-year-old as the physical, combative midfield option to replace Casemiro, who is set to depart the club at the end of the season, according to the report.

While he remains a key player for Dortmund, the Bundesliga club are open to his sale and have set a valuation of £39-48m to sanction his departure, with the Premier League trio now keen, Fussballden adds.

Nmecha has the qualities to thrive in the Premier League, and his brother Lukas has demonstrated that a seamless transition from the Bundesliga to the Premier League is possible, having produced nine goal contributions for Leeds United since arriving from Wolfsburg.

With no offers submitted yet, it’ll be interesting to see which club accelerates efforts to sign him ahead of other rivals when the summer window opens.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae is no longer a first-choice option at the Allianz Arena, and has made only 23 appearances in all competitions for Vincent Kompany’s men, therefore raising doubts regarding his continuity at the club.

According to Christian Falk, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on the South Korean international’s future with the Bundesliga giants, with a transfer to the Premier League emerging as a possible option for Min-jae.

Min-jae was signed by Bayern off the back of a superb campaign at Napoli, but he has failed to nail down to regular game time at the club as a result of competition from Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah and Josip Stanisic.

Even in his early days, Matthijs de Ligt’s availability at the club and Thomas Tuchel’s inclination towards using the Dutchman meant Kim Min-jae remained on the fringes for a large part of his career, though greener pastures may be on the horizon.

Chelsea may win Min-jae battle

Chelsea are likely to be strong contenders to sign Kim Min-jae with Liam Rosenior expected to demand a few central defenders in the transfer window. His experience with bigger sides and in the Champions League makes him an attractive option.

Tottenham Hotspur might consider the Bayern Munich centre back’s signing amid doubts over Cristian Romero’s future, but with Champions League football unlikely for next season and without a very attractive sporting project, Min-jae might join their rivals.

Kim Min-jae reads the game well and is an intelligent central defender, whose passing out from the back makes him a complete package. His aerial and physical abilities have also stood out, which Chelsea could make the most of should they land him.
