Description

Tottenham Hotspur are a ‘concrete’ option for Arsenal and Liverpool target Rodrygo Goes, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Since joining the Lilywhites from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2015, Son Heung-min has been an undisputed starter on the left flank over the last decade.

The South Korean even established himself as one of the best forwards in the Premier League and helped his side win the Europa League trophy last campaign.

However, he has entered the final year of his current contract, and Spurs have decided not to hand him a new deal as he is set to turn 34 next year. Therefore, he is going to leave this summer, and LAFC of the MLS have been suggested as his potential destination.

Now, Fichajes state that Tottenham are ‘determined’ to sign a ‘disruptive player’ to replace the South Korean as they want to challenge for the Premier League title. They have identified Rodrygo as a serious option and have intensified talks with the player’s representatives to persuade him to join.

They are even ready to launch a formal proposal, and Real Madrid have slapped a £78m price tag on his head with the Brazilian’s existing deal set to run until 2028.

Rodrygo to Tottenham

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the South American, but they aren’t prioritising signing him. So, Tottenham are the most ‘concrete’ option for the forward at the moment if he eventually leaves this summer.

After struggling to break into Real Madrid’s starting XI last term, Rodrygo’s future has become uncertain at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. He hasn’t made it public that he wants to leave, but the fierce competition for the first team spot in the attack could force him to leave to play regularly next season, especially since the World Cup is set to take place next summer.

Rodrygo is a versatile forward and can play anywhere across the frontline. He has proven his worth at the highest level and would be a great coup for Tottenham to replace Son should they purchase him.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher, as per Football Insider.

After appointing Thomas Frank as the new manager, the Lilywhites purchased Mohammed Kudus from West Ham. Following that, they attempted to seal the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White quickly by triggering his release clause.

However, Nottingham Forest felt Spurs made an illegal approach, so they threatened to take legal action. Now, they have managed to keep hold of him by tying him down to a fresh term.

Tottenham are also interested in signing a defensive midfielder and are closing in on a deal to sign João Palhinha from Bayern Munich on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.

Now, Football Insider state that Tottenham are planning to make a move to sign Gallagher after missing out on Gibbs-White, but Atletico might not want to let him leave, having already allowed Rodrigo De Paul to join Inter Miami.

However, Los Rojiblancos might change their stance should they receive an offer of around £40m, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2029.

Gallagher to Tottenham

Tottenham hold a long-term interest in the Englishman as they attempted to buy him last summer from Chelsea, but the Spanish side eventually managed to win the race.

Despite failing to secure his service last time, the North London club remain ‘keen’ on signing him and are willing to purchase him in this window, finally.

Gallagher is a versatile midfielder as he can play anywhere across the middle of the park. He is dynamic, energetic, and quick across the ground.

After moving to Estadio Metropolitano, the Englishman struggled to break into Diego Simeone’s starting eleven last term, making only 23 starts in the Champions League and La Liga.

Therefore, he might be open to leaving the Spanish capital to play regularly, especially given the World Cup is next year.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service before the end of this transfer window.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur enter the race for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi

Description

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is expected to depart Selhurst Park in the ongoing transfer window. The English international has been on Liverpool’s radar since a couple of weeks, with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur also keen now, Fichajes has reported.

The 25-year-old has a £40 million price tag. His primary suitors Liverpool are currently busy with trying to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United and therefore, a deal for Guehi is on hold, so Chelsea and Spurs could very possibly hijack their transfer.

Enzo Maresca is set to welcome Jorrel Hato into the team but perhaps needs another central defender to compete in the Champions League and the Premier League, so Guehi, with his Premier League experience would be a great addition.

Guehi race likely to be between Chelsea and Liverpool

With how many central defenders they have, including an indispensable pairing in Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to be as keen on Marc Guehi as talks suggest.

Liverpool could do very well with his signing, however, as Jarrell Quansah was sold to Bayer Leverkusen whereas Joe Gomez has struggled with fitness and form for the better part of the last 12 months.

Arne Slot risks going into the season with only two reliable centre-backs in Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk should the Reds decide against acquiring a central defender in the ongoing transfer window.

Chelsea, meanwhile, would see a lot of utility in Guehi in comparison to their current options as the player not only brings in experience but his skill-sets would make him a starter right from the word go at Stamford Bridge.

Earlier on, reports had also suggested that the player is keen on continuing to live in London, thus putting the Blues in a pole position to sign him given that Guehi had spent the initial years of his career at Cobham too.

It remains to be seen whether Crystal Palace are willing to negotiate a lower amount for their key defender as the transfer window starts to culminate, or whether Guehi’s interested parties are prepared to wait until 2026 to sign him as a free agent.

Tottenham set to hijack Juventus move to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG

Tottenham set to hijack Juventus move to sign Randal Kolo Muani from PSG - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to hijack Juventus’ move for Paris Saint-Germain centre-forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a resurgence in form in the second half of last season when he moved to Juventus on loan. He netted 12 goals, including two in three Club World Cup games for the Bianconeri last season, and provided four assists, eventually becoming a key player for Igor Tudor’s side.

The Turin-based club have been pushing for a permanent transfer, or at the very least an extension of the loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause set for June 2026.

However, a potential move for the Frenchman is now at risk, as Tavolieri claims that negotiations between Juventus and PSG have stalled, with relations between the two clubs now strained.

Tottenham are now looking to take advantage of the tense situation to hijack the move for Kolo Muani, according to the journalist.

While the Frenchman has given his priority to joining the 36-time Italian champions, Spurs appear undeterred as they look to trump Juventus for the France international’s signature, as per the report.

Kolo Muani still has three years left on his contract at Parc des Princes, so it’s likely PSG will be looking to sell him permanently for a fee around his £25m Transfermarkt valuation.

The fee is financially feasible for Spurs and could hand them the advantage over Juventus, who are reportedly negotiating a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Hijack

The 26-year-old is a pacey, direct attacker capable of operating across various forward positions.

Kolo Muani’s combination of power, acceleration, and clinical finishing makes him a constant danger both inside the box and on the break.

His technical prowess on transition fits an archetypal Thomas Frank forward, and he could form a strong partnership with new addition Mohammed Kudus to replicate an Mbeumo-Wissa kind of threat during counters.

While he’s not expected to immediately displace Dominic Solanke or Brennan Johnson from the starting lineup if he joins, he would still represent a strong squad option the club can rotate as they juggle European and domestic commitments next season.

West Ham eye move to sign Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma

Description

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma, as per Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 28-year-old joined the Lilywhites from Brighton and Hove Albion back in 2022. The Mali international initially struggled to find regular game time but was a key player in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI in the 2023/24 campaign.

However, he displayed inconsistent performances last term. Still, the African managed to help his side win the Europa League by defeating Manchester United in the final.

Now, he has entered the final year of his current contract, and while citing and translating the print version of Gazzetta dello Sport, Sport Witness report that Tottenham are open to cashing-in on Bissouma this summer to avoid losing him for free next year and are ready to accept at least £13m.

West Ham are interested in Bissouma and could make a concrete approach over the coming days. The midfielder displayed eye-catching performances at the AMEX Stadium under Graham Potter, and the Englishman is now willing to reunite with his former colleague.

However, purchasing the African won’t be straightforward for the East London club as Juventus are also plotting a swoop for him. The Bianconeri want him as he is available for a bargain deal.

Bissouma to West Ham

Bissouma is a Premier League-proven player and is still at the prime stage of his career. The former Brighton star is quick, strong, technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, and is also efficient in defensive contributions.

Therefore, he would reinforce the Hammers’ engine room should they purchase him. However, winning the transfer battle against a prestigious Champions League club like Juventus would be difficult.

It remains to be seen where Bissouma decides to go if he were to leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

After finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table last term, West Ham have had topsy-turvy pre-season results. Following a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United, they won against Everton in the Premier League summer series.

However, one of their goals came from an awful mistake by the Toffees goalkeeper. So, they need to improve a lot to perform well in the next campaign.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur battling to sign Bournemouth star Illia Zabarnyi

Description

The London trio of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all made very crucial signings in the summer transfer window this year and there is nothing to hint that they are about to stop just yet.

The Blues and the Lilywhites are particularly said to be keen on some more business with Caught Offside reporting that the two rivals are interested in signing Bournemouth defender Illia Zabarnyi.

He has been linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain as well in recent weeks, and in spite of agreeing to personal terms with the European champions, Bournemouth and the French giants remain deadlocked over his transfer fee.

Chelsea had been keen on him since several weeks but it looks as if Tottenham are the ones willing to make the major breakthrough as they are prepared to pay Zabarnyi’s £60 million asking price, the source has added.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will enter the race for the Ukrainian international given interest from Spurs and PSG, especially because Enzo Maresca will likely need another centre back in spite of Jorrel Hato’s impending arrival.

Zabarnyi unlikely to prefer Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are playing in the Champions League next season and are building an exciting squad of younger faces but it is unlikely that Illia Zabarnyi will be open to departing Bournemouth to join them this year.

Not only do Spurs have an inconsistent track record of holding onto managers and challenging for silverware, but they are secure enough in the heart of their backline and might not be able to guarantee regular game time to the Bournemouth star.

Zabarnyi may find himself trailing Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order at Tottenham, whereas the likes of Kevin Danso and Radu Dragusin have established themselves as reliable back-ups in recent months.

Paris Saint-Germain would be the best possible side for him to ply his trade as far as sporting project and game time are concerned as Zabarnyi would eventually replace Marquinhos at the club while also receiving a fairly high salary.

Liverpool and Tottenham battling to sign Parma defender Giovanni Leoni

Description

The Serie A has produced some fine defensive talents over the years with another one catching the eyes of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Corriere dello Sport has reported that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Parma centre back Giovanni Leoni in the summer after his breakthrough campaign with them in the Italian top-flight.

As per the report, Leoni is valued at close to £30 million, a fee the English duo are comfortably expected to afford, and featured in most of Parma’s Serie A outings since January.

At six feet, five inches height, he has a towering aerial presence, fantastic reading of the game, exceptional physical prowess and passing ability on the ball with both his feet, thereby making him an ideal option for the Premier League.

Liverpool likely to trump Spurs to Leoni

Giovanni Leoni’s club, Parma, finished Serie A at 16th place last year and have struggled financially, so in spite of how promising he has been, they may let the 18-year-old leave for the right money.

Having said that, a transfer to Liverpool might be a more feasible proposition for the teenager as Tottenham Hotspur already have some fine defenders in the prime of their careers, while Luka Vuskovic, also 18, checked into the club this summer.

Liverpool are looking to replace an ageing Virgil van Dijk, whereas Ibrahima Konate’s contractual situation means they are looking for a new centre back. While Leoni won’t have a key role right from the start, there is a clear succession path at Anfield.

It will be interesting to see if he is receptive to the idea of joining Liverpool ahead of next month’s Deadline Day or whether he continues to ply his trade in the Serie A to continue his development with Parma.

Liverpool & Tottenham make move to sign Piero Hincapié

Liverpool & Tottenham make move to sign Piero Hincapié - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a move to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Piero Hincapié, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

Arne Slot currently has Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as the only centre-back options after letting Jarell Quansah leave. Joe Gomez is another option, but he struggled with fitness problems last term and has sustained a fresh injury during the pre-season.

The Dutch boss has claimed that Ryan Gravenberch is capable of playing in this role if needed, but he has established himself as the mainstay in midfield. So, if Gravenberch plays in defence, Liverpool would miss his presence in the engine room.

On the other hand, Konate’s future isn’t secured at Anfield as his existing deal will expire next summer and the Merseyside club have found it difficult to agree on fresh terms with him.

Van Dijk, meanwhile, is set to turn 35 next year, and Liverpool should start looking at options to sign a long-term replacement for him. On TBR Football, Bailey says that Liverpool have identified Hincapié as a serious option to strengthen the LCB position and have already made contact to seal the deal.

Alongside the Reds, Tottenham, and Chelsea are also interested in him and have made moves to sign him. However, the Blues have been working on a deal to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax Amsterdam, so if they manage to secure his service, Enzo Maresca’s side are unlikely to buy the Ecuadorian.

Battle

Bayer Leverkusen have no intention of parting ways with Hincapié, having already lost Jonathan Tah, but he has a £52m release clause, and if Liverpool or Tottenham opt to trigger it, they can’t keep hold of him.

Tottenham struggled with defensive frailties last term, and it was due to injury problems to their main centre-back pairing, Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven.

Spurs currently don’t have a proper backup option to the Dutchman, so Thomas Frank is seemingly planning to buy Hincapié to create competition for Van de Ven.

Hincapié is a left-footed left-sided centre-back but is also comfortable in the LB role. He is quick, technically sound, comfortable playing out from the back, and is efficient in defensive contributions.

Therefore, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham or Liverpool should either club eventually manage to secure his service this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur preparing £45 million bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have not been too active in the transfer market over the last few weeks. They came close to signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest but a switch for him collapsed, thus forcing the club to consider alternatives.

Sebastien Vidal has reported that Tottenham are now interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha with a £45 million bid in the works for the Portuguese international.

He joined Bayern from Fulham last summer but has struggled with fitness issues at the Allianz Arena. Vincent Kompany’s preference towards Aleksandar Pavlovic, Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich has also worked against him.

A return to the Premier League is already under consideration for the 30-year-old and Spurs, who are looking for a deeper-lying midfielder, have already held talks with Palhinha’s employers, Vidal has stated.

Palhinha not what Tottenham need

A switch for Joao Palhinha is not what Tottenham Hotspur require. The 30-year-old’s fitness in the last year has been unflattering, while paying £45 million for a player in the latter stages of his career is also not the best use of resources.

Palhinha had an excellent tenure at Fulham and would have been a worthy addition to the team if he was still in the Premier League or playing regular minutes at Bayern Munich, though at this point in time, he may struggle for game time at Spurs too.

There is still over a month to go in the transfer window, so Thomas Frank and Tottenham Hotspur have enough time to search for a midfielder, especially because they are not very constrained by a measly budget.

For the time being, the likes of Pape Mata Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are good enough to run the show in midfield alongside Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison, so there is no desperate need for a new purchase either.

Tottenham plot swoop to sign Man City’s Jack Grealish

Tottenham plot swoop to sign Man City’s Jack Grealish - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Manchester City outcast Jack Grealish, as per transfer expert Mike Brown.

Since moving to the Etihad Stadium from Aston Villa for a big money back in 2021, he has won three Premier League trophies, one Champions League, and a few more major cup competitions.

However, he has only managed to showcase his best for the Citizens in one season, when they won the treble. Overall, his time at Man City can be considered underwhelming, and he struggled to play regularly in the last two seasons.

Therefore, Pep Guardiola’s side are said to be open to cashing-in on him with his existing deal set to expire in 2027. Now, on Football Insider, Brown says that Tottenham hold a long-term interest in the 29-year-old and are still willing to secure his service.

They could sign him after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White. Grealish is capable of producing top-class performances but needs to play regularly, and Spurs might be the right destination.

Brown said:

“Jack Grealish needs to be playing regularly wherever he goes. Tottenham could be that destination, especially after they’ve missed out on the deal for Gibbs-White, because they want to strengthen in that position.

“They’ve been interested in Grealish for a while, so that deal might finally come now. Gibbs-White staying at Forest is going to be a big blow, but they’ll have other targets in mind. If it’s not Grealish, there will be somebody else, but he is certainly a name on their list.”

Grealish to Tottenham

The Englishman, valued at around £24m by Transfermarkt, is comfortable playing in the CAM role and on the left flank. Moreover, he can provide cover in the box-to-box role in a midfield three.

Grealish hasn’t played in the last two seasons, and there is a question mark whether he can manage to showcase his best once again at the highest level, considering he is set to turn 30 soon.

Therefore, Tottenham might be better off exploring other options to strengthen the attacking midfield position. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service.

Meanwhile, after appointing Thomas Frank as the new manager, Spurs have only purchased Mohammed Kudus. Other than that, they have made Mathys Tel’s loan move permanent.

They finished 17th in the Premier League last campaign, and with the new campaign less than three weeks away, they need to make more additions quickly to hand Frank the necessary tools to achieve success next season.
