Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ‘still hopeful’ to sign Manchester City forward Savinho, as per transfer expert Mike Brown.

The Lilywhites have enjoyed a bright start under new manager Thomas Frank’s guidance this season, winning both Premier League games without conceding a goal.

They are currently second in the league in goal difference. However, the Danish boss hasn’t had much backing from the club’s hierarchy this summer thus far.

Mohammed Kudus is the only new permanent signing; Joao Palhinha has also joined, but has arrived on a loan deal. On the other hand, they have allowed Son Heung-min to leave, and James Madison is set to remain sidelined for an extended period, having sustained a serious knee injury.

On Football Insider, Brown says that Tottenham have identified Savinho as the ‘top target’ to reinforce the wide forward position, but Man City don’t want to part ways with him at this stage of the window.

Still, Tottenham haven’t given up on this deal and have continued to work to reach an agreement with the Citizens. Spurs are ‘still hopeful’ to lure the South American away from the Etihad Stadium, and Pep Guardiola’s side have even started exploring options to replace Savinho.

Savinho to Tottenham

Tottenham currently have Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Mathys Tel, Kudus, and Dejan Kulusevski as options for the flanks. However, the Swedish international has been out with injury problems, while Tel and Odobert are still young and need time to develop.

Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon are also at the club, but the duo isn’t seemingly on Frank’s long-term plan. Therefore, the Lilywhites want a new winger before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Savinho is a left-footed right winger but is also comfortable on the opposite side. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the ability to deliver excellent crosses from the wide areas, and also works hard without possession.

The Brazilian showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League last campaign and is a highly talented player. Moreover, he possesses the potential to become a top-class player in the future, so he would be a great coup for Tottenham should they eventually manage to secure his service this summer.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the transfer of talented forward Xavi Simons for £51.8 million, as per David Ornstein.

Netherlands international Simons is close to joining the reigning UEFA Europa League champions after he encouraged Spurs to put in a bid for him.

The 22-year-old was earlier granted permission by Leipzig to travel to London and resolve his future amid certainty of an exit from the club.

Tottenham appear set to trump London rivals Chelsea to the signature of Simons. The Blues have been strongly linked with the former Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Chelsea have had an agreement on personal terms in place with Simons for around a month but did not place an official bid for the forward.

According to Ornstein’s report, Tottenham will now look to finalize the transfer. The forward has completed his medical in London after personal terms were agreed, and the forward could be unveiled by the club this weekend.

Thomas Frank’s side have been left needing a star addition this summer after selling iconic forward Heung-Min Son to Los Angeles FC. Despite the signing of Mohammed Kudus, Spurs need more creativity after losing James Maddison to an ACL injury.

Tottenham wary

Despite reaching an agreement with RB Leipzig, Tottenham will remain wary about the deal until Xavi Simons is officially signed. Spurs have suffered a number of near-misses in this summer’s transfer window, and Chelsea still looms large over their deal for Simons.

Tottenham had agreed to pay Morgan Gibbs-White’s release clause in July, only to be forced to pull out following threats of legal action by Nottingham Forest.

They then had an agreement in place to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace before London rivals Arsenal hijacked the proposed move for the 27-year-old.

Chelsea have not pulled the plug on their mission to sign Simons despite being linked with Fermin Lopez. Stamford Bridge was the Dutchman’s preferred destination, and a late move from the Blues could derail Tottenham’s plans.

Tottenham & Chelsea showing ‘strong interest’ in Rogers

Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are reportedly showing a ‘strong interest’ in signing Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per Caught Offside.

The Lilywhites have been exploring the possibility of signing a new creative midfielder since the start of this summer window. Moreover, following James Maddison’s ACL injury, the need to bolster the No.10 position has increased.

They attempted to buy several targets but haven’t managed to sign anyone yet, with the window set to slam shut next week.

Now, Caught Offside claim that Tottenham are interested in signing Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, but also have Rogers on their radar as a potential alternative option if the Dutchman’s deal eventually falls through. The Lilywhites feel Rogers is the perfect option to strengthen the attacking midfield position.

Aston Villa have found themselves with PSR troubles, so they can’t spend money without balancing the books by selling players. Therefore, they could cash-in on Rogers and have slapped a £80m price tag on his head.

Spurs might find it difficult to seal the deal by matching the asking price. The Villans’ valuation isn’t the only obstacle for Tottenham to sign Rogers, as Chelsea are also keen on purchasing the 23-year-old.

Battle

Like Rogers, Tottenham are also set to face tough competition from the West London club in getting any potential deal done for Simons.

Arsenal were also interested in Rogers, but having already purchased Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, they are unlikely to make a move for him. However, they could attempt to buy him next summer if he stays at Villa Park.

Chelsea want a new creative midfielder to support Cole Palmer. The Englishman has established himself as a talismanic figure for the Blues since joining from Manchester City, but has recently picked up an injury.

Rogers is a versatile forward as he is comfortable playing on either flank as well as the No.10 role. Therefore, Spurs could attempt to sign both Simons and Rogers, with the Englishman the option for the flank as Son Heung-min’s replacement.

Tottenham readying £69 million bid for Nico Paz

Tottenham readying £69 million bid for Nico Paz - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to trump Real Madrid by launching a £69m offer to sign Como star Nico Paz this summer, as per Quotidiano Sportivo.

Thomas Frank’s side are keen on Argentina international Paz, and are prepared to eclipse the £65 million they paid to sign Dominic Solanke last summer for his services.

They have Real Madrid to contend with, as the Spanish giants hold the keys to the future of the 20-year-old forward. Como signed Real Madrid academy graduate Paz last season, with the Spanish giants retaining 50% of his rights, three buy-back clauses, and matching rights on any bids for him.

They declined to re-sign him this summer, but can activate their second buy-back in 2026 for just £7.7 million due to their agreement with Como.

Tottenham are strongly interested in Paz due to their need for attacking midfield options following injuries to James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski.

Nico Paz enjoyed a fine debut season in Italy, scoring six times and providing eight assists for his club in 2024-25 to earn the Young Player of the Season award. He has carried that form over into the new season with a goal and assist in his side’s Matchday One win over Lazio.

The Premier League side have no problem with breaking their transfer record, but await a green light to move for the young midfielder.

Frustration

Spurs have failed with approaches for both Morgan Gibbs-White and Eberechi Eze this summer, and are keen to avoid facing another failed attempt for a player.

Highly-rated RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons has also emerged as a serious option for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the September 1st closure of the transfer window.

The Netherlands international has been a hot topic in this summer’s window after he revealed that he intends to leave Leipzig.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Simons, with an agreement on personal terms reportedly in place for weeks. Their failure to speed up the transfer since then has caused Tottenham to fully enter into the race, with a £60 million bid imminent.

The youngster has already travelled to London, hoping to work out his future with a move to either side before the window slams shut.

Tottenham submit formal offer to sign Xavi Simons ahead of Chelsea

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a formal offer to trump Chelsea in the race to sign RB Leipzig’s versatile forward Xavi Simons this summer, as per Florian Plettenberg.

Simons is keen on leaving Leipzig, with reports indicating that the Premier League is his favoured destination. The player is believed to be in London after being granted permission to travel to the English capital, where his future would be decided.

The Dutchman has been on Chelsea’s radar for most of the summer, with reports suggesting his preference for a move to Stamford Bridge after accepting personal terms.

However, it appears Tottenham are now set to steal a march on their London rivals, as Plettenberg claims that the North London outfit have submitted an official formal offer to Leipzig to formalise the transfer of Simons.

The German football transfer expert adds that Spurs’ offer is worth a total of £60m and is close to Leipzig’s valuation for the 22-year-old.

Despite Chelsea reportedly agreeing to personal terms with Simons, Plettenberg clarifies that the East London club have not submitted any official offer for the forward yet, with Spurs now in pole position.

Battle for Simons

Tottenham need a No. 10 since James Maddison’s injury and have seen their attempts to sign his replacement prove unsuccessful.

The move for Morgan Gibbs-White broke down after Nottingham Forest threatened a lawsuit over their improper approach, while Arsenal swooped in at the last minute to sign Eberechi Eze from under their noses.

Tottenham’s unrelenting efforts towards securing other high-profile alternatives, like Simons, prove an ambitious statement of intent by the board towards backing Thomas Frank with adequate players to compete for honours this season.

In the previous campaign, he featured 33 times across all competitions for Leipzig, contributing 11 goals and eight assists, even though he missed 15 matches following surgery on a ligament injury in his left ankle.

Frank’s team has been bolstered this summer through the permanent arrivals of forwards Mohammed Kudus and Mathys Tel — the latter having spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Spurs — together with the loan acquisition of Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich.

With a formal bid now lodged for Simons, Spurs must also move quickly to reach an agreement on personal terms with the Dutchman to avoid another Eze-esque scenario.

Tottenham plotting audacious double swoop to sign Xavi Simons & Ademola Lookman

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a double swoop to sign RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman this summer, according to talkSPORT.

Simons has been the subject of interest from Chelsea this summer, with the Blues making formal moves since the beginning of the summer transfer window.

On the other hand, Lookman has been at odds with Atalanta after publicly declaring his intention to leave, following what he described as a pre-planned agreement with the Italian club.

Both players appear to be gearing up for a departure before the end of the month, and Tottenham are now hoping to sign both players as the transfer window deadline nears.

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham are plotting an audacious double swoop for the transfers of Simons and Lookman this summer.

For Simons, the report claims that the Dutchman is being targeted by Spurs and they are now looking to hijack Chelsea’s move for the forward.

Although the 22-year-old is prioritising a move to Stamford Bridge, the report notes that the versatile forward is open to a move to Spurs, with Leipzig aiming to create a bidding war between both clubs to meet his £60m valuation.

Double swoop

On the other hand, talkSPORT adds that the North London club are keen admirers of Lookman, following his standout season in Serie A, where he netted 20 goals across all competitions for Atalanta last season.

While the club would ideally prefer a move for Manchester City’s Savinho, the Cityzens’ refusal to sell the Brazilian has led the club to explore other options, including Lookman, as per the report.

The Nigerian international was the subject of interest to Italian giants Inter Milan, who saw their £38m offer rebuffed, according to the report. Therefore, it’s likely that Atalanta will want closer to his £51m Transfermarkt valuation to sanction his departure from the Gewiss Stadium this summer.

Tottenham have started the season in flying form after winning against Burnley and Manchester City convincingly without conceding a goal while scoring five goals in the process.

Despite their form, they still need adequate reinforcement to maintain their solid performances and results ahead of a busy run of European and domestic fixtures.

However, with Simons appearing to favour Chelsea and Atalanta rejecting Inter’s bids for Lookman, Daniel Levy must act swiftly with a significant offer for both players, as time to pursue alternatives is running out.

Tottenham holding talks to sign Chelsea target Simons

Description

According to The Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur are holding talks over a possible bid to sign Chelsea target and RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons.

The London giants have already bolstered their attack with Mohammed Kudus this summer, but they are aiming for at least another recruit after James Maddison’s knee injury.

Spurs were determined to land Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace this month, but they were beaten to his signature by arch-rivals Arsenal, who made a last-gasp move to sign him.

Tottenham are now exploring a deal for Simons, and there is optimism that the Dutchman would be open to a move to north London amid Chelsea’s lack of progress in recruiting him.

Chelsea are dependent on selling Nicolas Jackson or Christopher Nkunku first. The Blues are also looking into a deal for Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez prior to the transfer deadline.

Spurs are carefully monitoring the situation, and they will only make an offer for Simons if they can quickly close a deal, and minimise the threat of Chelsea hijacking their pursuit.

RB Leipzig value Simons at £60 million, which Spurs were willing to pay Eze earlier this summer.

Top-class

Simons has built a big reputation for himself during his time at RB Leipzig, and he is prepared to move on before the transfer window closes. He is more likely to end up in the Premier League.

The Netherlands international can comfortably play from the number 10 position as well as from either wing. His versatility would make him an assured starter under Spurs manager Thomas Frank.

Simons could be drafted straight into the starting XI as an attacking midfielder in Maddison’s absence. He could also operate on the left wing ahead of Brennan Johnson based on the opposition. Kudus is guaranteed to start on the right wing.

The 22-year-old would be a superb addition to the squad, given he is a risk taker with his distribution. He has the knack for creating big chances with his intrinsic passing alongside scoring goals.

Spurs would provide him the perfect platform to develop with consistent minutes. On the other hand, Simons may not have the same guarantee at Chelsea with the fierce competition for places.

Cole Palmer is an undisputed starter from the number 10 position when fit. Jamie Gittens and incoming signing Alejandro Garnacho are likely to compete for a starting spot on the left wing.

On the right, the Blues have Estevao and Pedro Neto in their ranks. If Simons is prioritising regular playing time, he could be better off choosing Spurs over the Blues before the deadline.

Tottenham offered chance to sign Man Utd’s Jadon Sancho

Tottenham offered chance to sign Man Utd’s Jadon Sancho - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

After displaying impressive performances with Borussia Dortmund, the Englishman joined the Red Devils for a big fee back in 2021. However, like several other big signings, the 25-year-old has struggled to flourish in his career at Old Trafford.

Having fallen out with former United boss Erik ten Hag, Sancho went back to Dortmund on loan in January last year. However, the German giants eventually opted not to secure his service permanently.

Following that, the forward signed for Chelsea on a loan deal last summer, and a conditional buy obligation was included in the deal. It was even met; however, the Blues couldn’t agree on personal terms with him, so they decided to send him back by paying a small penalty.

Now, on TBR Football, Bailey says that Sancho doesn’t want to give up his hefty salary at United, so although AS Roma were keen on purchasing him, the player rejected a move to the Italian capital.

However, Ruben Amorim doesn’t want to keep him in his squad and has left him out of the first team group. Therefore, United are open to cashing-in on him before next week’s transfer deadline, and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign the forward.

Sancho to Tottenham

The Lilywhites have been exploring the possibility of signing a new winger after letting Son Heung-min leave. Savinho of Manchester City is their priority target, but Spurs have been struggling to agree on a deal to buy him.

Therefore, they might decide to make a move for the Man Utd outcast, with Sancho’s existing deal with United set to expire at the end of this campaign.

Tottenham open talks over deals for Lucas Paqueta and Antoine Semenyo

Description

Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham Hotspur have made enquiries to West Ham United and Bournemouth over moves for Lucas Paqueta and Antoine Semenyo, respectively.

Thomas Frank’s side are in the market for reinforcements as they look to build on an impressive start to the 2025-26 season. Their search has led them to England, with both Paqueta and Semenyo in their sights.

Tottenham lost chief creator James Maddison to a ruptured ACL in pre-season, ruling the England international out for most of the 2025-26 campaign. They are also without Sweden international Dejan Kulusevski, with the ex-Juventus man ruled out until 2026 through injury.

Spurs are now interested in Brazil international Paqueta, who is valued by Transfermarkt at £24 million. He appears to be unsettled in East London amid his side’s struggles in recent months.

The 27-year-old midfielder was cleared of any irregularities with regards to betting this summer, and was linked with a move away from the London Stadium.

Romano’s report via YouTube indicates that Tottenham have put a call through to West Ham with respect to a possible move for Paqueta. They have also held internal talks over a move for Semenyo, as the Ghana international continues to impress at the Vitality Stadium.

Frustration

Antoine Semenyo signed a new contract with the Cherries earlier this summer tying him to the club until 2030. Therefore, Bournemouth are under no pressure to sell and would no doubt demand far more than his £34 million Transfermarkt valuation to cash-in.

It has been a frustrating summer for Tottenham as they’ve missed out on several targets despite being able to offer UEFA Champions League football.

A proposed deal for Morgan Gibbs-White collapsed after Nottingham Forest threatened legal action for an illegal approach after Spurs triggered his release clause.

Tottenham then had a deal in place to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace but the England international eventually snubbed the move to Spurs in favour of joining rivals Arsenal.

They will hope to bring in an attacker or two to add firepower to their squad before the window slams shut on Monday evening.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly received a huge boost in the pursuit of Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per Football Insider.

The transfer window is set to slam shut in less than one week, but the Lilywhites have only purchased Mohammed Kudus and João Palhinha thus far, with the Portuguese joining on a loan deal from Bayern Munich.

Thomas Frank has been keen to purchase a new creative midfielder since becoming the new Spurs manager at the end of last season. Morgan Gibbs-White, Eberechi Eze, and Nico Paz were all on the Danish boss’s wishlist, but Tottenham haven’t been able to buy any one of them.

Now, Football Insider state that Tottenham are accelerating to sign Rogers before the end of this transfer window, and Aston Villa could be forced to cash-in on him to raise funds to reinforce the squad. As they need to add depth to their squad to perform well in the Premier League and Europa League this season

The Villans have been hamstrung by the PSR rule and have decided to cash-in on Jacob Ramsey to balance the books. However, Ramsey’s departure wasn’t enough to allow them to spend money, and they needed another sale so they could let Rogers leave. Tottenham are even hoping to secure his service in a cut-price deal.

The 23-year-old is valued at around £47m by Transfermarkt and still has five years left in his current contract, having moved to Villa Park last year.

Rogers to Tottenham

Rogers is comfortable in the CAM and left flank position; moreover, he can provide cover on the right wing, but he doesn’t always perform at his best in this position.

Alongside a new No.10, Tottenham are also plotting a swoop for a new winger as a potential replacement for Son Heung-min. Manchester City star Savinho is the primary target, but the Citizens don’t want to let him leave.

It is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club can eventually manage to sign a new No.10 and winger before the end of this transfer window.

Meanwhile, after defeating Manchester City last weekend, Tottenham will face off against AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League just before the international break.
