Tottenham Hotspur expecting Harry Kane return from Bayern Munich next summer - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur have faced a serious problem in the attack since 2023 after Harry Kane left the club. A number of signings, including Dominic Solanke, have failed to live up to the expectation after struggling for form or fitness.

Under Ange Postecoglou and more so under Thomas Frank, the lack of goal contributors in the box are visible for Spurs with the likes of Mathys Tel, Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison failing to deliver, apart from Solanke.

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are keen on re-signing Harry Kane from Bayern Munich and in spite of competition from Barcelona, they ‘expect’ the England captain to seal a blockbuster return to Hotspur Way next summer.

Kane’s contract with the Bundesliga giants is set to include a £57 million release clause for a limited timeframe once the ongoing season ends, and a number of clubs have already been linked with exploiting that option once it becomes active.

Kane return a strong possibility

Harry Kane’s return to Tottenham Hotspur in the final few years of his career remains a strong possibility, and at £57 million, he still remains a striker worth every penny given the kind of numbers he continues to produce higher up the pitch.

Bayern Munich’s marksman has already struck 12 goals and provided three assists in nine Bundesliga outings so far in the season, and is warming up superbly for the World Cup in 2026, a tournament for which his England side will be among the favourites.

While the World Cup remains a separate topic of discussion, Kane could entertain thoughts of returning to Tottenham if he can win the Champions League with Bayern Munich this year, an achievement which would mean he has won it all with them.

Spurs are better placed to contend for silverware at present as compared to when Kane left the club, and their Europa League triumph this year has given the Londoners real confidence that they can compete with the continent’s biggest sides.

It will be interesting to see what kind of offer Barcelona make to Kane, who could be just as tempted to try out a challenge in Spain having already spent a decent chunk of his career in England without much yield as far as trophies are concerned.

Tottenham battling with Arsenal & Chelsea to sign Vlahovic

Tottenham battling with Arsenal & Chelsea to sign Vlahovic - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling with Arsenal and Chelsea over a deal to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The 25-year-old burst onto the scene, having displayed impressive performances for Fiorentina. It was thought that he would become a top-class goal-scorer in the future, so several big clubs expressed their interest in signing him.

The Gunners were among them, but the Bianconeri eventually managed to secure his service in January 2022. However, he has failed to flourish in his career at Allianz Stadium over the years.

Fichajes state that Juventus have decided not to extend his contract as he is currently on high wages and hasn’t been able to showcase his goal-scoring prowess in recent years.

So, they are prepared to cash-in on him in January to avoid losing him for free at the end of this season and are prepared to accept up to £17m.

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed their interest in signing him and could make a concrete approach; however, sealing the deal won’t be straightforward for the Lilywhites, as Chelsea and Barcelona are also in this race. Moreover, Arsenal have revived their interest and are ready to finally sign their long-term target in January.

Battle

Considering Vlahovic will enter the final six months of his current contract in January, Tottenham, Arsenal, or Chelsea can manage to agree on a pre-contract agreement with him to seal the deal for free next summer.

Although Vlahovic, standing at 6ft 3in tall, has struggled to showcase his qualities for Juventus over the last few years, he is still young and has time on his side to turn the situation around. The forward is strong, good in the air, and works hard without possession.

A change of environment and playing for more attacking teams like Arsenal and Chelsea could bring the best out of him. So, he might still be a shrewd bargain acquisition for Arsenal, Tottenham, or Chelsea should any of those clubs purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Lilywhites, the Blues, or the Gunners eventually make a concrete approach to lure him away from Allianz Stadium in the upcoming winter window.

Tottenham lead race to sign West Ham & Everton target Toney

Tottenham lead race to sign West Ham & Everton target Toney - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ‘leading the race’ ahead of West Ham United and Everton to sign Ivan Toney, as per TEAMtalk.

Spurs have struggled with the centre-forward issues thus far, as first-choice option Dominic Solanke has been out injured since the start of this season.

Amid the Englishman’s absence, Richarlison has been providing cover in the No.9 role with Mathys Tel playing as a backup. New summer acquisition, Randal Kolo Muani, has also played a few games.

However, the trio has netted only four Premier League goals combined. Richarlison has scored three, with two of those coming against Burnley in the opening game. On the other hand, Tel has netted only once, and Kolo Muani hasn’t been able to find the back of the net yet for his new club in the English top flight.

Thomas Frank’s side have netted 17 goals from 10 Premier League games so far this season, with more than 50% of goals coming from the midfielders and defenders.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham are planning to address their No.9 issue by purchasing a new striker, and Frank is willing to reunite with his former colleague Toney.

Toney to Tottenham

The Danish boss has even held ‘direct talks’ with the 29-year-old to persuade him to join. The forward is open to returning to the Premier League in January to secure his place in the England national team for next year’s World Cup.

However, considering he is currently on a high wage, sealing the deal permanently would be extremely difficult for Spurs in January, with Al-Ahli demanding around £30m to sell him. So, Frank’s side are looking to submit a loan proposal with an option to make the move permanent next summer.

West Ham and Everton have also expressed their interest in Toney; however, the North London club are currently ‘leading the race’.

The Hammers have struggled with goal-scoring problems this season, while Everton’s two strikers, Thierno Barry and Beto, have been struggling so far this campaign.

Toney is a Premier League-proven player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. Therefore, he would be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham should they eventually manage to purchase him in the upcoming winter window.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo, as per TEAMtalk.

After rising through the Red Devils’ youth system, the 20-year-old made his first-team debut a couple of years ago and helped his side win the FA Cup. Having showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League, the midfielder secured his place in the England national team for last year’s European Championship.

He played regularly in this competition, guiding his country to reach the final before losing to Spain. However, since Ruben Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, the youngster has struggled to find regular game time.

So, he reportedly wanted to leave this summer in search of regular playing time to regain his spot in the England national team, with the World Cup set to take place next year.

However, Man Utd eventually refused to let him leave. His situation hasn’t improved, failing to start a Premier League game thus far this season. As a result, speculation surrounding his future has started emerging ahead of the upcoming winter window.

TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham are interested in Mainoo and have been monitoring his development closely before making a potential swoop next year.

Mainoo to Tottenham

However, purchasing the midfielder won’t be straightforward for the Lilywhites as Newcastle United, Manchester City, and Napoli are also in this race.

The Italian champions have even reached advanced negotiations with the player’s representatives to persuade him to join, and are willing to seal the deal on a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent.

Therefore, the North London club will have to put their best efforts to sign the Man Utd star by defeating other clubs in this race.

Amorim won’t let Mainoo leave without signing a proper replacement, and United have already started exploring options with Conor Gallagher, Elliot Anderson, and Morten Hjulmand on their radar.

Mainoo has entered the final two years of his current contract, and it is highly unlikely that United would be able to persuade him to sign an extension unless his situation improves massively. So, Tottenham would be able to seal the deal in a cut-price deal next year.

Mainoo, valued at around £39m by Transfermarkt, likes to be deployed in the double midfield pivot role but is also comfortable in the box-to-box position.

Simons and Richarlison return | Predicted Tottenham Hotspur XI vs Copenhagen - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur host Copenhagen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on matchday four of the UEFA Champions League as they look to remain unbeaten in the competition, and pick up their second win in the process, at 20:00 UK time tonight.

After losing to Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend, Thomas Frank was critical of his team’s creativity, and the players will need to step up against Copenhagen in the European Cup if they are to push for a top 8 finish in the standings.

Having said that, here is a look at their possible starting eleven for the fixture.

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario is set to retain his place in goal for Tottenham Hotspur having kept two clean sheets in three Champions League fixtures this season.

Defenders – Pedro Porro might continue at right back once more, whereas Djed Spence could also be picked to play on the left side of the back four. Cristian Romero came off the bench against Chelsea but is unlikely to be risked from the start in what should be a relatively easy game for Spurs, so Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven might also stick together at centre back.

Simons on the left flank, Richarlison at number 9

Midfielders – Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha have built a solid chemistry together in the double pivot for Tottenham Hotspur, so they both might start once more, whereas Pape Mata Sarr could also be picked to play at number 10.

Mohammed Kudus is the favourite to feature on the right flank, on the other hand, whereas £51 million summer signing Xavi Simons is expected to come back into the team on the left side at Lucas Bergvall’s expense.

Forward – With Randal Kolo Muani also misfiring as the striker, Thomas Frank could welcome Richarlison back into the line-up.

Here is how the Londoners might look on paper tonight.

Tottenham convinced to pay £70m for Semenyo in January - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are c0nvinced about signing Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo when the transfer window reopens in January, according to Fichajes.

Spurs have had a good start to the campaign under manager Thomas Frank, but there is an underlying concern with the lack of goals from forwards over the past five games in all competitions.

Frank is looking for a goalscorer who can make a difference, and Fichajes claim that Tottenham see Semenyo as the ‘ideal fit’, given he is powerful, fast and possesses great finishing ability.

Bournemouth consider Semenyo as a key player in their ranks, but would be open to listening to offers worth £70 million for the Ghanaian star during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Spurs’ hierarchy are ‘convinced’ about Semenyo’s credentials and are willing to pay the fee to secure his services.

Top-class

Semenyo has been in exceptional form for the Cherries in the ongoing campaign. He has already accumulated six goals and three assists from 10 Premier League appearances. He is primarily a left-sided winger, but can also comfortably operate from the right flank.

Aside from his goal involvements, the 25-year-old has won a stunning 2.1 dribbles per outing alongside 6.5 duels. He has been good in tracking back with more than five recoveries per league appearance, while making almost two successful tackles.

Semenyo, who is world-class, as per Justin Kluivert, has all the attributes to become a key performer for Tottenham. Mohamed Kudus has cemented his spot on the right wing for Spurs, and Semenyo could act as the perfect foil for his compatriot on the left side of the attack.

The north London giants have shown that they have the financial firepower to spend and it won’t come as a surprise if a deal materialises in January. The Cherries have developed their reputation as a selling club and have sold plenty of big-name stars for the right price.

Tottenham & Chelsea battling to sign Samu Aghehowa

Tottenham & Chelsea battling to sign Samu Aghehowa - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are reportedly battling over a deal to sign FC Porto star Samu Aghehowa, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Lilywhites have had a topsy-turvy start to this season under new manager Thomas Frank. Although they have accumulated 13 points from five Premier League away games, the best away record so far, their home record has been abysmal, earning only four points from five matches.

Following the defeat against Chelsea last weekend, cracks within the squad began to show when Frank approached Djed Spence and Micky Van de Ven for a handshake, but they ignored their boss and went straight down the tunnel.

Now, the North London club will face off against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League in midweek before taking on Manchester United in the Premier League next weekend.

Meanwhile, Fichajes state that Tottenham are planning to reinforce the centre-forward position next year and are keen on signing Aghehowa, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching performances.

Following Harry Kane’s departure, Spurs decided to sign Dominic Solanke, but he has been out injured since the start of this term. On the other hand, they also have Richarlison, Mathys Tel, and Randal Kolo Muani; however, the latter has joined on a loan deal and could return to PSG next year.

Moreover, Richarlison hasn’t been able to showcase consistency this season, and Tel isn’t ready to play regularly yet.

Battle

The report say that Tottenham aren’t the only club interested in Aghehowa as Chelsea are also plotting a swoop. They previously attempted to buy him last year but didn’t finalise the move, and are now ready to revive their interest.

The Spaniard still has four years left in his current contract and has a release clause worth around £87m. However, Porto are prepared to lower their valuation and accept around £70m.

Chelsea bought João Pedro and Liam Delap to bolster the striker position last summer. However, Pedro isn’t a natural striker and likes to play in the CAM role; on the other hand, Delap has struggled with fitness problems and has showcased indiscipline.

In 10 appearances across all domestic competitions, Samu has scored nine goals and registered a solitary assist thus far this campaign. He is a talented player and possesses high potential, so he would be a great coup for Tottenham or Chelsea should either club purchase him.

Man Utd & Tottenham in battle over deal to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton

Man Utd & Tottenham in battle over deal to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Manchester United are in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur over a possible swoop for the transfer of Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite next summer, according to Caughtoffside.

Since making the switch from National League side Carlisle United in January 2020, Branthwaite’s progression in the Premier League has been remarkable, rapidly establishing himself as one of England’s standout young centre-backs.

His loan experiences at PSV Eindhoven and Blackburn Rovers proved crucial in sharpening his abilities, and he now plays an influential role for the club, having played 75 games so far, although he’s currently battling injury concerns.

The 23-year-old further reaffirmed his commitment to the Merseyside club by penning a new five-year deal in July, keeping him tied to Everton for the foreseeable future.

Despite his commitment to the club, Caughtoffside reports that several Premier League clubs, including Man Utd and Tottenham, remain keen on signing the England international.

Having held a longstanding interest in Branthwaite, the report adds that the Red Devils remain admirers of the 6ft 4in centre-back and view him as a key figure in their defensive overhaul.

Spurs, on the other hand, are looking to add a new left-footed centre-back to their ranks and view the England international as a viable option for Thomas Frank’s setup, according to the report.

However, amid interest from the Premier League duo, the report adds that Everton are adamant he’s not for sale and have placed a £70m valuation on the Englishman, a figure United were unwilling to meet during the last summer transfer window.

Battle

After a disappointing start to the Premier League campaign, Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim found himself under growing scrutiny to reverse the team’s struggles.

Yet, optimism has returned to Old Trafford, with the Red Devils collecting ten points from their last four fixtures — three victories and a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest — sparking renewed belief among supporters.

Attention has now shifted toward the upcoming transfer window, as Sir Jim Ratcliffe aims to strengthen the squad further and sustain the steady progress initiated by Amorim.

Spurs, on the other hand, have had a mixed season, with their latest 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea highlighting inconsistencies this season. They’ll be eyeing reinforcements, particularly in defence, where they’ve kept only two clean sheets in their last eight Premier League games.

While Branthwaite would be a solid addition to either backline, his price tag seems too steep, so it’ll be interesting if either club will splash the cash to sign him or move on to other affordable targets.

Tottenham Hotspur eyeing surprise swoop for Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay

Tottenham Hotspur eyeing surprise swoop for Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur were beaten by Chelsea on matchday 10 of the Premier League this weekend, with Joao Pedro’s goal the difference between the London rivals as the Lilywhites lost for the third time this season in the English top flight.

In his post-match interview, Thomas Frank admitted that he was concerned by the team’s lack of creativity in the final third and owing to a relative shortage of options in midfield, the Dane could look into acquiring a player or two in 2026.

Football Insider has reported that Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay has emerged as a potential signing for Tottenham following his impressive couple of seasons in Serie A, which saw him get named the MVP of the Italian top division last year.

He has picked up where he left off this time around with four goals and an assist in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side, and with a contract in Naples until June 2028, the £44 million-rated Scottish international will not come for cheap.

McTominay signing a tough proposition

Scott McTominay was one of Manchester United’s top performers under Erik ten Hag, and has been head and shoulders above most Serie A midfielders since checking in at Napoli, so Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in him is far from a surprise.

Given that Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison have not been available to Thomas Frank for all of this season so far, and Yves Bissouma is also expected to be on his way out at the end of the campaign, McTominay is the perfect all-round profile for Spurs.

McTominay’s tackling, intercepting and ability to drive the ball forward coupled with brilliant finishing from range and aerially make him a solid option, but Tottenham will have a herculean task in front of them if they are to get him out of Napoli.

Antonio Conte has the player firmly in his plans, plus with Kevin De Bruyne injured for the next few months, it is impossible to see a January move to the Premier League materialising for the former Man United star.

It remains to be seen if there is any chance of him joining the Londoners in the summer, however, especially if new Tottenham chairman Peter Charrington is prepared to pay big money for him in order to stamp his identity on the club’s squad.

Tottenham eye double swoop to sign Bowen & Aghehowa

Tottenham eye double swoop to sign Bowen & Aghehowa - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to make a double swoop to sign West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen and FC Porto star Samu Aghehowa, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Having displayed woeful performances in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou last term, the Lilywhites have enjoyed a stellar start under new manager Thomas Frank this campaign.

They are currently third in the table with 17 points from nine games. However, it needs to be taken into consideration that they have played most of their games against bottom-half teams thus far.

Frank’s side have played only three games against the teams that are in the top half, losing two of those fixtures. Now, a tough run of fixtures awaits the Lilywhites, with their next three league matches coming against Chelsea, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

In the meantime, Fichajes state that Spurs have started exploring the market to reinforce the squad, with Frank wanting to upgrade the attacking department next year.

The North London club have earmarked Bowen and Aghehowa as serious options and are ready to splash big money to secure the duo’s services.

Tottenham are preparing to spend around £53m for Bowen, with his existing deal set to run until 2030, while they want to buy Aghehowa for around £62m. So, in combined, Frank’s side are ready to invest around £115m.

Bowen & Aghehowa to Tottenham

Tottenham currently have Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Mohammed Kudus as options for the flanks. On the other hand, Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani, and Mathys Tel are striker options, but apart from Solanke, the other three are capable of providing cover on the wide areas.

Moreover, Xavi Simons is a creative midfielder by trait but is also efficient on the wing. So, on paper, Tottenham are well-resourced in the attacking department.

However, Kulusevski and Solanke have been out injured since the start of this season, while Johnson and Odobert have been displaying below-average performances in recent times.

Moreover, Richarlison has had fitness problems over the last few years; thankfully, he has been healthy thus far this season. However, he has been displaying inconsistent performances.

So, reinforcing the frontline would be the right decision for Spurs, and Bowen and Aghehowa might be shrewd acquisitions should they eventually manage to secure their services next year.
