Description

Manchester United are reportedly battling with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Napoli star Scott McTominay, as per Caught Offside.

After ranking through the Red Devils’ youth system, the 28-year-old made his first-team debut back in 2017. He even established himself as a key player in former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting line-up.

However, following the Norwegian’s departure, the Scotsman lost his importance in his boyhood club’s starting XI. So, United decided to cash-in on him last year, and Napoli purchased him.

McTominay has enjoyed a stellar time at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium so far. He guided Antonio Conte’s side to win the Scudetto last term and became the best player in the Italian top flight, scoring 12 goals and registering four assists.

The midfielder has continued to showcase his productivity thus far this season, scoring four goals and registering a solitary assist in 14 appearances across all competitions.

Now, Caught Offside state that, having watched McTominay impress at Napoli, Manchester United have realised they may have made a mistake in letting him go, and are now planning to bring him back next year.

Battle

However, Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t the only club interested in the 28-year-old as Newcastle United and Tottenham are also keen on him, while Barcelona have registered a concrete interest.

McTominay still has three years left in his current contract, and Napoli have no intention of parting ways with him yet. However, they might be open to cashing in should they receive an offer of around £44m.

McTominay is comfortable in the double midfield pivot role and is also efficient in the box-to-box position. Moreover, he can provide cover in the No.10 role if needed.

The Scotland international has become a more mature player under Conte and is currently at the prime stage of his career. He is 6ft 3in tall and has experience in the Premier League.

Therefore, he might be a useful acquisition for Man Utd or Tottenham should either club purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club or the Old Trafford club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services in January or next summer.

Description

According to Football Insider, Manchester United have joined Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque.

The 20-year-old rejoined Palmeiras after an unsuccessful spell with Barcelona in February this year, and he has since been in brilliant form for the Brazilian heavyweights.

Roque has netted 20 goals and provided 5 assists in the ongoing campaign, and his progress has caught the eye of several elite European clubs including the Red Devils.

The Brazil international is more likely to leave Palmeiras after the World Cup next summer.

Huge potential

United made a big outlay to land Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig last summer. The Slovenian striker has had an average start to his career with just two goals and an assist in all competitions.

Amorim may want another good competitor in the squad. Joshua Zirkzee has failed to meet expectations and he could be replaced by a new centre-forward in either January or next summer.

The Red Devils could swoop for the services of Roque, who has found his feet after his return to the Brazilian football. The 20-year-old has the ability to score with either feet or his head.

He has also excelled with his high pressing and would be a good acquisition for the Red Devils. Still, it seems unlikely that a deal could materialise when the transfer window reopens.

Roque recently earned a surprise call-up from Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti after a two-year absence, and he could be in contention for the World Cup if he can sustain his current form.

The young marksman may not want to hamper his World Cup selection prospects by switching clubs in January. Without a proper pre-season with a new club, he may struggle to adapt quickly.

Hence, a transfer may not happen until the end of the campaign. Palmeiras are looking for at least £44 million to part ways with their graduate. United could be willing to pay such a sum.

They are bound to face competition from Chelsea and Spurs for his services. The Blues could be their strongest challengers, having already done business with Palmeiras by recruiting Estevao.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made ‘contact’ to sign Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Since joining the Toffees from Olympique de Marseille last year, the 25-year-old has established himself as a key player, scoring 11 goals across all competitions last term.

This season, the Senegalese international has improved even more, netting four goals and registering a solitary assist in 11 Premier League appearances.

Now, Fichajes state that Tottenham are planning to reinforce the frontline by signing a Premier League-proven player and initially identified Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa as the primary target.

However, following his decision to prolong his stay at Villa Park by signing a new contract, Tottenham have shifted focus to alternative options and have earmarked Ndiaye as the ‘priority’ option.

The Lilywhites have made initial ‘contact’ over this deal, but the Merseyside club have no intention of letting him leave next year with his existing deal set to run until 2029.

However, David Moyes’ side might change their stance should Tottenham launch a formal proposal worth up to £70m. Apart from the North London club, other teams have also expressed their interest in the African, but the report haven’t revealed those clubs’ names.

Ndiaye to Tottenham

Tottenham currently have Wilson Odobert, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Mohammed Kudus as options to deploy on the flanks. Moreover, Mathys Tel, Randal Kolo Muani, Richarlison, and Xavi Simons can also provide cover on the flanks if needed.

However, Kulusevski has been sidelined due to an injury since the start of this season, while Johnson has been displaying average performances. On the other hand, Wilson has been inconsistent thus far this season.

So, Spurs could do with reinforcing the flanks, and Ndiaye would be a shrewd acquisition should they purchase him. He is comfortable on either flank but is also efficient centrally if needed.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure the forward away from Hill Dickinson Stadium in January or next summer.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have struggled with having a consistent striker this season as Dominic Solanke has struggled for fitness, while Richarlison has also failed to be consistent in spite of making a decent start to the campaign.

In addition to the duo, neither Mathys Tel nor Randal Kolo Muani have impressed since joining this year, so all things point towards a new addition sooner rather than later, possibly in January itself.

According to Tutto Mercato, Spurs are pondering over the signing of Juventus forward Jonathan David, a player who is also on Chelsea’s radar after a barren start to life in Serie A having signed as a free agent from Lille this summer.

Even though Chelsea have been linked with David, it is unlikely to see them attempting his transfer in January as Joao Pedro is playing decent as their number nine, whereas Liam Delap has proven to be a reliable back-up option.

Having said that, Tottenham might have a clear path to his signing. The Canadian international is valued at £40 million on Transfermarkt, but just six months into his arrival in Turin, it will be interesting to see what his asking price will be.

Spurs swoop difficult for David in January

Jonathan David has scored and assisted only once apiece in all competitions for Juventus, so his poor form is concerning enough for Tottenham Hotspur to reconsider whether or not they want to sign him in the winter.

Moreover, Juventus could look to give him at least a full season given that there are doubts over Dusan Vlahovic’s continuity at the club with the Serbian international’s contract due to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Spurs have other options for January but with Dominic Solanke expected to return soon, Thomas Frank will hope that the former Bournemouth star will find some form and consistency.

‘He will train’ – Sweden boss provides injury update on Tottenham star Lucas Bergvall - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Sweden national team manager and former West Ham United boss Graham Potter has disclosed that Tottenham Hotspur’s midfielder Lucas Bergvall is still unable to head the ball following a concussion but will nonetheless join Sweden’s training sessions this week.

Bergvall sustained the head injury on November 1 during Spurs’ Premier League defeat to Chelsea, forcing him off after just seven minutes.

The 19-year-old has since been sidelined for Tottenham’s matches against FC Copenhagen and Manchester United due to the concussion.

Despite his recent absence, Potter opted to include the teenager in his squad for November’s international fixtures. Speaking last week, the manager expressed optimism that the midfielder could regain fitness in time to feature against Switzerland and Slovenia.

Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen has now provided an injury update on the midfielder, revealing the youngster is currently receiving ‘special treatment’ and included remarks from the head coach addressing his condition.

‘He will train tomorrow [Tuesday], but no heading. He will probably be able to train tomorrow. But we have to examine him; he is not here yet. I will speak to him and the doctors, but as I understand it, he will be there tomorrow,’ he said.

Boost

Sweden are set to face Switzerland in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday, and the national team boss remains optimistic that Bergvall could resume full training by Thursday.

He also emphasised that the youngster will not be rushed back into action until he receives full clearance from the medical team.

‘Around Thursday, I would think. But again, I will probably get into trouble if I don’t double-check with the doctors,” Potter explained.

‘The most important thing, from Lucas’s point of view, is that they give the go-ahead. But as I understand it, it will be at the end of the week.’

Sweden currently occupy the bottom spot in their qualifying group but still have a route to the World Cup via the play-offs after topping their Nations League group.

Bergvall will be eager to make an impression on the new boss in these final two qualifiers, with the midfielder anticipated to return to full training before Saturday’s clash against Switzerland. Sweden will then host Slovenia on Tuesday.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to make a move to sign AFC Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, as per TEAMtalk.

After moving to Vitality Stadium from Bristol City a couple of years ago, the 22-year-old played as a rotational option in his debut campaign under Andoni Iraola. Still, he managed to showcase glimpses of his high potential.

However, he couldn’t serve the Cherries properly last campaign due to fitness problems. But the youngster was a key player in the England national team that won the U21 European Championship last summer.

This season, Scott has enjoyed a bright start, starting 11 out of 12 matches across all competitions. The midfielder’s recent impressive performances have been rewarded by Thomas Tuchel with a call-up to the senior England national team for this month’s international fixtures.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Tottenham are planning to address their midfield problems next year and have earmarked Scott as a serious option. Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha have been the first-choice midfield pairing under Thomas Frank, but the duo have failed to complement each other.

The Lilywhites hold a long-standing interest in Scott as they have been keeping an eye on him since his Bristol days, and they could now make a move to finally secure his service.

The Englishman is valued at around £22m by Transfermarkt and still has three years left in his current contract. So, the Cherries are in a strong position to demand a sizable amount of money if they are forced to cash-in on him next year.

Scott to Tottenham

The report say that along with purchasing a new midfielder, Tottenham also want a new forward following Randal Kolo Muani’s recent injury.

Scott is a technically gifted, versatile midfielder. He likes to play in the double midfield pivot role but can also provide cover in the No.10 position if needed.

Tottenham Hotspur table £70 million bid for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes

Tottenham Hotspur table £70 million bid for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s form under Thomas Frank has received mixed feedback so far, but given that they are fifth and tenth in the Premier League and Champions League, respectively, the Dane is far from being under pressure.

Frank has had to fight his fair share of injury worries and underwhelming squad planning, although with Daniel Levy now no longer at the helm, it does seem like Spurs will spend money more freely and back their manager in the transfer market.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have not ruled out making a signing or two in January itself, and have tabled an offer worth £70 million to sign Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo Goes, who has struggled for game time under Xabi Alonso.

He has played only 359 minutes, less than four full matches, across 13 outings in all competitions for Los Blancos with the likes of Arda Guler, Brahim Diaz and Franco Mastantuono above him in the pecking order in the early months of the season.

Rodrygo’s form has not been too good either, and with only one goal in the last eight months, the Brazilian international could welcome a change as soon as in the winter as he bids to regain his feet in time for next summer’s FIFA World Cup.

Spurs stand a chance for Rodrygo

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are willing to let Rodrygo Goes leave midway through the season, especially because their Copa del Rey campaign will also start in January and require them to have a better squad depth.

Nonetheless, if departing the Spanish capital in January is on the cards for the 24-year-old, Tottenham Hotspur will have a strong chance at securing his transfer given that other suitors like Arsenal and Liverpool might not splurge big money early in 2026.

Spurs can also provide Rodrygo a starring role in the team, and given that they are one of the most budding young sides in the Premier League with only a few more areas to fix, the Madrid star could welcome a tricky but exciting challenge.

Even though Rodrygo was valued at roughly £85 million in the summer, £70 million might be a good enough bid for Tottenham to land him in a couple of months considering how less the Brazilian has played so far this season.

Arsenal battling with Chelsea & Tottenham to sign Nico Paz

Description

Arsenal are reportedly battling with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Como midfielder Nico Paz, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners decided to splash big money in the last transfer window to reinforce the squad and help Mikel Arteta challenge on all fronts this campaign.

Although they have struggled with numerous injury problems thus far this season, they have enjoyed a brilliant start. They are currently at the top of the Premier League table and are the favourites to become English champions. Moreover, they have won the first four games in the Champions League and have reached the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.

In the meantime, the winter window is fast approaching, and Arsenal have started exploring options to strengthen the squad further.

Caught Offside claim that, although Mikel Arteta already has Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, and Ethan Nwaneri as options to deploy in the creative midfield position, he wants to add further depth in this area, and Arsenal have earmarked Paz as a serious option.

Since joining Como from Real Madrid last year, the 21-year-old has established himself as one of the best young players in Serie A, scoring four goals and registering as many assists in 11 league appearances thus far this season.

Los Blancos have a buyback option, and it has been suggested that they want to re-sign him. Moreover, the Spanish giants have a 50% sell-on clause with Paz valued at around £88m.

Battle

So, it won’t be straightforward for Arsenal to sign the player, and they have already opened talks to persuade him to move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, the report claim that Arsenal aren’t the only club interested in the South American as Chelsea and Tottenham are also plotting a swoop. Spurs attempted to buy him last summer before purchasing Xavi Simons.

On the other hand, Chelsea have opened talks to learn about the details of sealing the deal. Inter Milan are in this race as well and are ready to invest £51m to seal the deal. So, everything is dependent on what Paz decides to do about his future.

The Argentinian, standing at 6ft 1in tall, is a left-footed, technically gifted player. He is a CAM by trait but is also comfortable in the box-to-box and false nine role; moreover, he can provide cover on the right flank.

Tottenham set to swoop for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman in January

Tottenham set to swoop for Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman in January - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a swoop to sign Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman in the January transfer window, according to Tuttojuve.

Ademola Lookman, a 28-year-old forward, initially gained recognition in England when he joined Everton at the age of 19, after attracting interest from several clubs at Charlton Athletic.

Despite showing glimpses of his talent, most notably with his goal against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to secure a 4-0 win in 2017, the Nigerian forward struggled with consistency, which has led to brief stints with other clubs, including Fulham, Leicester City, and Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

However, it was at Atalanta that he enjoyed his most prolific form, particularly last season, when he netted 20 goals, including a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, earning the CAF African Footballer of the Year award.

However, after expressing his desire to leave in the summer, Lookman now appears to be out of favour with the under-fire head coach, Ivan Jurić, and the pair were involved in a touchline bust-up at the weekend.

Therefore, a departure from the Bergamo-based outfit looks likely, and acccording to Tuttojuve, Tottenham are ‘ready’ to swoop for Lookman, who is reluctant to extend his stay at the New Balance Arena beyond 2027.

The report adds that the North London club are gearing up for an ambitious transfer window to bolster their attack and are now set to submit a ‘concrete offer’ to Atalanta to sign the Nigerian international as early as the January transfer window.

Lookman to Tottenham

Lookman’s record with Atalanta has been excellent, as the attacker has registered 53 goals alongside 25 assists in 118 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

Although he has frequently been deployed in a more central advanced position for Atalanta, the arrival of Xavi Simons, who has struggled since his arrival, could likely see him operating out wide were he to complete a move to north London.

Spurs seem in need of greater attacking quality, and with Dominic Solanke struggling for fitness, Thomas Frank would likely prioritise a versatile forward capable of contributing both goals and creativity — making Lookman an ideal option.

Liverpool & Tottenham ‘keen’ on signing Koulierakis

Liverpool & Tottenham ‘keen’ on signing Koulierakis - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing VfL Wolfsburg star Konstantinos Koulierakis, as per Caught Offside.

After moving to Volkswagen Arena from PAOK last year, the 21-year-old displayed glimpses of his qualities in his debut campaign last term, notching up two assists and keeping seven clean sheets in 33 appearances across all competitions.

The Greek has continued to play a key role in the German side’s starting XI this campaign, and Caught Offside state that, having been impressed by the youngster’s recent eye-catching displays, Liverpool are ‘keen’ on purchasing him in January.

The Reds want a new centre-back as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate. His current contract will expire at the end of this season, and he has been in talks to leave for free next year, with Bayern Munich showing an interest in him.

However, the report claim that purchasing Koulierakis won’t be straightforward for the Merseyside club as Tottenham are also eager to secure his service to support Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven.

The Lilywhites have been scouting the Greek closely before making a potential swoop, but he isn’t the only name on Thomas Frank’s wishlist, with Jarrad Branthwaite and Eric Garcia also among the targets.

Battle

Koulierakis still has four years left in his current contract, so Wolfsburg don’t want to part ways with him in mid-season, but they could change their stance should they receive an offer of around £35m.

The defender is 6ft 2in tall, comfortable playing out from the back, and is also efficient in defensive contributions. The Reds recently signed Giovanni Leoni from Parma after being impressed by his performances in Serie A, and he showcased his high potential during his debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup.

Unfortunately, he sustained a serious knee injury in the same game and is set to remain sidelined for almost the entirety of this season.
