Description

Liverpool are reportedly battling with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United over a deal to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, as per transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.

The 22-year-old moved to the City Ground from Newcastle United ahead of last season. He enjoyed a promising debut campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo, making eight goal contributions in 33 Premier League starts.

Moreover, the Englishman guided his team to qualify for European football. This season, he has taken his game to another level, and following that, he was selected to play for the England national team in this month’s international fixtures.

Now, on TBR Football, Bailey states that Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Anderson, having monitored his development closely in recent times.

The Reds aren’t the only club plotting a swoop for him, as Tottenham are also in this race and have been following his performances closely before making a potential move.

On the other hand, Man Utd are planning to revamp the midfield department next year and have identified Anderson as a serious option. Newcastle are even keen on bringing the midfielder back.

Battle

However, Forest have no intention of letting him leave anytime soon, as Ange Postecoglou wants to make Anderson a key component of his starting XI for many years.

The youngster still has four years left in his current contract, so the Reds aren’t in any rush to sell him. Therefore, Man Utd, Liverpool, or Tottenham will have to make a lucrative proposal to persuade Postecoglou’s side to let him leave, with the player valued at around £28m by Transfermarkt.

Anderson likes to be deployed as a deep-lying playmaker and is also comfortable in the box-to-box role. He even played as a wide forward at Newcastle.

The Englishman has been showcasing signs that he can become a world-class midfielder in the future, as he is comfortable receiving possession under pressure. Moreover, he is efficient in playing line-breaking passes from the deep and works hard without possession.

Therefore, the Nottingham Forest star would be a great coup for Tottenham, Liverpool, or Man Utd should any of those clubs eventually manage to secure his service next year.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in signing Sporting CP midfielder Morten Hjulmand, according to Tuttojuve.

Since arriving from US Lecce in August 2023, Morten Hjulmand has quietly developed into one of the most overlooked midfielders on the European stage.

The 26-year-old wasted little time in making his presence felt at Sporting CP, where former boss Ruben Amorim helped maximised his qualities and even entrusted him with the captain’s armband.

The Danish international has already featured in more than 100 matches for the Lisbon outfit, contributing eight goals and six assists along the way. His steady rise has inevitably drawn attention from several elite clubs across the continent.

Tottenham’s reported interest in Hjulmand makes sense. Yves Bissouma appears to have no long-term role at the club, while there is still uncertainty over whether Spurs will finalise a permanent deal for João Palhinha once his loan stint at Bayern Munich comes to an end.

Now, according to Tuttojuve, Tottenham have expressed interest in a possible swoop for the transfer of the defensive midfielder to North London in ‘recent days’.

However, they face stern competition for his signature from Italian giants Juventus, who have earmarked him among a list of possible targets to bolster Igor Tudor’s midfield, as per the report.

Spurs eye Hjulmand swoop

Hjulmand, whose contract at the Estádio José Alvalade will run until 2028, is highly regarded by Sporting, so it’ll take a significant fee in the region of £52m for the Portuguese giants to allow him to leave amid interest from Spurs and the Bianconeri, according to the report.

Tottenham invested over £150m in reinforcements over the summer, with high-profile additions including Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus, and João Palhinha.

Permanent deals were also secured for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel before Randal Kolo Muani arrived on loan on deadline day to complete the club’s transfer business.

With uncertainties surrounding Bissouma’s future, Hjulmand would be a key addition to Thomas Frank’s midfield alongside Palhinha, and together with Pape Matar Sarr, they could form a formidable trio that is difficult to bypass.

Description

Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to revive their interest in signing AFC Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, as per TEAMtalk.

The Ghanaian showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League last campaign, making 19 goal contributions across all competitions.

Following that, the 25-year-old attracted a lot of attention in the summer transfer window; however, the Cherries refused to let him leave. Eventually, they managed to keep hold of him by tying him down to a fresh long-term deal.

Semenyo has enjoyed a stellar start to this season, scoring twice and registering two assists in five appearances in the Premier League. He even scored a brace against Liverpool at Anfield in the opening league encounter.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Man Utd explored the possibility of signing Semenyo this summer to add creativity to their squad, while Spurs made a couple of attempts to buy him.

On the other hand, Liverpool admired the African and were willing to sign him for the Champions League squad. Furthermore, Arsenal and Newcastle United were also in this race.

Battle

Having failed to buy him this summer, the Premier League giants are planning to reignite their interest in signing him next year. Andoni Iraola’s side have no intention of parting ways with him in January and are desperate to keep hold of him beyond that.

The forward has no release clause in his current contract, and Bournemouth demanded around £70m to sell him this summer. They are expected to ask for a similar fee or more than that next year if he continues to showcase impressive performances throughout the season.

Semenyo, standing at 6ft 1in tall, is a versatile forward as he is comfortable on either flank. He is quick, extremely strong, good in the air, efficient in dribbling past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is comfortable with both feet.

Additionally, he works hard without possession. Semenyo has showcased his qualities in the Premier League in recent times and could be a shrewd acquisition for Man Utd, Tottenham, or Liverpool should any of those clubs purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club, the Merseyside club, or the Old Trafford club eventually make a formal approach to seal the deal next year.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly ‘dream’ of bringing back Bayern Munich ace Harry Kane, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Since moving to the Allianz Arena from the Lilywhites a couple of years ago, the Englishman has enjoyed a stellar time, winning the Bundesliga and German Super Cup trophies.

In 91 appearances across all competitions in the last two seasons, the 32-year-old netted 82 goals and registered 23 assists. He even made four goal contributions in five matches in the Club World Cup this summer.

The England captain has started the new season impressively as well, scoring 13 goals and notching up three assists in just seven games in all tournaments.

Now, Fichajes state that Tottenham ‘dream’ of re-signing Kane to reinforce the attacking department and could make a concrete approach next summer.

The forward has a £57m release clause in his current contract, which will run until 2027, if he wants to leave the Bavarian club at the end of this season.

Kane to Tottenham

Following Kane’s departure, Tottenham decided to reinforce the frontline by signing Dominic Solanke from AFC Bournemouth for a club record fee last year. However, he has been out injured during the early stages of this season, having displayed average performances last term.

Thankfully, Richarlison has stepped up amid Solanke’s absence thus far this season, but he has struggled with fitness problems over the last few years. Mathys Tel is another option Spurs currently have for the centre-forward position. However, he is still young and needs time to develop his career.

Randal Kolo Muani has joined on a loan deal from PSG this summer to add depth to the attack, but it isn’t certain whether they will sign him permanently.

Therefore, the Lilywhites could do with signing a new striker next year, and Kane would be a great coup should they purchase him. Thomas Frank has even recently said that he would be open to having Kane at his disposal.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Bayern Munich star eventually expresses his desire to leave next year, and if that happens, whether Spurs can manage to bring him back.

Tottenham ‘seriously considering’ signing Julian Brandt

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘seriously considering’ signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Following James Maddison’s serious knee issue, the Lilywhites decided to reinforce the creative midfield department this summer. Initially, they attempted to buy Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest; however, having failed to secure his services, they shifted focus to Eberechi Eze.

It was reported that Spurs were very close to purchasing him, but Arsenal swooped in and hijacked the deal. The former Crystal Palace star is a boyhood Arsenal fan, so he opted to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Eventually, Tottenham signed Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for him, but Thomas Frank’s side managed to beat their city rivals in this race.

Still, Fichajes state that Tottenham are ‘seriously considering’ signing another new No.10, and Brandt is on their radar. The German has entered the final year of his current contract at Signal Iduna Park, and Spurs are looking to sign him in a cut-price deal in the winter window.

However, purchasing the former Bayer Leverkusen star won’t be straightforward, as Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also planning to make a move.

Brandt to Tottenham

Considering he has entered the final few months of his current contract, Tottenham can agree on a pre-contract deal with him in the winter window to sign him for free next summer.

However, Dortmund are ready to sell him in January to avoid losing him for free next summer, as he has found himself down in the pecking order, starting only once thus far this season.

Brandt is a versatile player, as although he is a No.10 by trait, he is comfortable on the flanks. He is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, and is efficient in creating opportunities for the forwards.

The midfielder, valued at around £22m by Transfermarkt, is a highly talented, experienced player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Tottenham to add depth to the squad should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to secure his services in January.

Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt, according to Caughtoffside.

The 29-year-old gained his breakthrough with Bayer Leverkusen, which saw several clubs across Europe vie for his signature. Dortmund eventually won the race to sign him in a big-money move to the Signal Iduna Park in 2019.

Brandt has since made over 200 appearances for the club, becoming a key part of the team’s recent surge, including the 2023/24 Champions League run, where he was instrumental in the club’s run to the final.

He’s also an indispensable part of Niko Kovač’s side, featuring in ten games across all competitions this season. His performances have not gone unnoticed, as several clubs in Europe, including in the Premier League, are now courting him over a possible move.

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham have joined the race in signing the Germany international to bolster Thomas Frank’s midfield ranks.

The report adds that the North London club are ‘considering’ a swoop for the transfer of the German midfielder to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to provide creativity following the long-term injury to James Maddison.

The club view his ability to play in several positions across the frontline as well as deeper roles as a suitable profile the club are looking for in the market.

Battle

With just one year left on his contract and a meagre £21m Transfermarkt valuation, Spurs view the forward as a ‘realistic target’ given their tight budget for the winter transfer window, as per the report.

They’ll now need to act swiftly in completing a swoop for Brandt in January, as CaughtOffside claims that Newcastle United and Aston Villa are closely monitoring the versatile forward.

Having lost the Super Cup final to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties, Tottenham have been impressive this season with an improvement in performances and results.

The Londoners now sit third in the Premier League table, winning three, drawing one and losing one. They also began their Champions League campaign with a win over Villarreal.

The potential addition of Brandt to this free-flowing Spurs side will make them a more potent challenger for titles this season, so they need to act swiftly to secure his signature ahead of Newcastle and Villa.

Tottenham ready to launch January swoop to sign Savinho from Man City

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to reignite their interest in signing Manchester City winger Savinho in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk.

Spurs were keen on signing the Brazilian winger in the recently completed summer transfer window and saw a series of bids being turned down by City. As per the report, Tottenham’s last offer was worth £65m but City decided to keep hold of the South American.

The North London club then turned attention to other targets to bolster their attack. They signed versatile French forward Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, while RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons also joined on deadline day.

However, it appears the club remain keen on adding Savinho to their attacking ranks, as TEAMtalk claims that Tottenham are ready to make a fresh attempt to sign the Brazil international in the January transfer window.

Spurs to ‘revisit’ move for Savinho

In an exclusive report to TEAMtalk, transfer insider Dean Jones revealed that the 21-year-old remains on Tottenham’s radar and the club is motivated by the winger’s desire to join them.

He said, ‘Spurs are still keeping an eye on Savinho, knowing that he wanted the move in the summer. ‘With the youngster playing just 16 minutes of Premier League football for City this season, Jones adds that ‘His minutes recently are not very convincing at City. Guardiola told him he wants him to stay, but Savinho needs to see how he fits in.

‘The next couple of matches should bring more game time for him and will be a better chance to assess where he is at – but it is the case that Tottenham would revisit in January if they saw the chance to do so.’

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup looming, Savinho could consider a departure in search of regular playtime. Having already expressed his desire to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs might not find difficulty in agreeing on personal terms with the forward.

However, this time around, they’ll hope to reach an agreement with City and finally lure the South American to North London this winter.

Since stepping into the dugout, Thomas Frank has overseen a strong beginning to life at Tottenham, guiding the North London side to 10 points from their opening five league fixtures.

Following their 2-2 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion, Spurs will hope to return to winning ways when they host League One side Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup third round on Wednesday.

Chelsea and Tottenham emerge as ‘realistic’ destinations for Kobbie Mainoo

Chelsea and Tottenham emerge as ‘realistic’ destinations for Kobbie Mainoo - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo had asked to leave the club on loan in the final week of the summer transfer window this year, but his wish was promptly turned down by Ruben Amorim, who wished to count on him for 2025/26.

The 20-year-old has yet to start a Premier League game for the Red Devils in five outings this season, and although he did come off the bench for them in their last three matches in the English top-flight, he has collectively played only 76 minutes.

With the FIFA World Cup approaching in 2026, Mainoo is understood to be keen on playing regularly in order to make the England side for the tournament and has kept the door to departing Old Trafford in January if his playing time does not improve.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are the two ‘realistic’ destinations for Mainoo, with the two Londoners expected to look into signing a midfielder or two early next year to bolster their options in the engine room.

Mainoo transfer could hinge on Amorim

Kobbie Mainoo’s transfer to Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur will heavily hinge on Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese manager coming under pressure very early on this season after a slow start in the Premier League.

Amorim will keep his job for the time being after overseeing a win over Chelsea on Saturday but that’s not to say his position is not precarious, with reports suggesting that United are keeping their options open ahead of the busy run of fixtures in the winter.

Should Amorim stay and not count on Mainoo, the writing may be on the wall and both, Chelsea as well as Spurs, could consider acquiring him in January, though United would want to keep their academy graduate owing to Manuel Ugarte’s inconsistencies.

Whether Mainoo might want to leave permanently or on loan remains to be seen, but any club interested in acquiring his services for good would need to pay £79 million – a price tag Man United consider fair given his age, potential and contract duration.

Tottenham would fancy their chances of signing Mainoo ahead of Chelsea considering they can give him regular minutes, whereas the Blues would require him to compete with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo for a spot in their primary starting eleven.

Tottenham Hotspur looking to sign Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves imminently

Tottenham Hotspur looking to sign Al Hilal midfielder Ruben Neves imminently - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Tottenham Hotspur came from 2-0 down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on matchday five in a game where they were largely outplayed in the midfield.

Joao Palhinha and Rodrigo Bentancur struggled to make much of an impact, especially in possession, and in spite of Xavi Simons’ signing, Thomas Frank has been keen on a deeper-lying creative midfielder’s addition to his squad.

Caught Offside has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Al-Hilal star Ruben Neves in 2026 as he enters the final few months of his contract in Saudi Arabia. The player is also open to returning to Europe.

Neves has also been linked with Man United, but it is believed that Spurs are planning on expediting a transfer for the Portuguese international, who is expected to be available for approximately £17 million.

Neves would be a solid addition for Spurs

Thomas Frank has utilised Xavi Simons on the left wing as opposed to making him the number 10, whereas Mohammed Kudus has also adapted very well to his position on the right flank.

Dejan Kulusevski has yet to play his first minutes under Frank, so once he is fit, it will be interesting to see where he fits in the Tottenham Hotspur team but Ruben Neves will be a solid signing for them, nonetheless.

The 28-year-old has already been successful in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers, with his physicality, intelligent reading of the game, passing and long-range shooting particularly key attributes which Spurs can leverage from.

Rodrigo Bentancur has not played the best football in possession since a reasonable time, so Neves promises to be an upgrade over the Uruguayan international alongside a fill-in for Yves Bissouma too.

Manchester United will also benefit from his profile and will give Spurs a run for their money, but at this point in time, the Londoners will be able to propose a more stable and attractive sporting project to the Al-Hilal star.

Everton and West Ham looking to sign Sergio Reguilon as free agent

Everton and West Ham looking to sign Sergio Reguilon as free agent - football-talk.co.uk
Description

Sergio Reguilon left Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last season after their Europa League triumph and has been a free agent since, having failed to find newer recruits during the summer transfer window.

Fichajes has reported that the former Real Madrid star could be onto greener pastures soon, however, with Everton and West Ham pondering over his transfer as a free agent in the near future.

La Liga sides, Real Sociedad and Sevilla, are also keen on the 28-year-old’s services and the prospect of his signing looks very attractive given the low-risk involved as well as the prime age of his career in mind.

Everton could snap up Reguilon

Everton might be the likeliest side to sign Sergio Reguilon as a free agent considering their primary left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko has struggled for fitness in the initial few weeks of the 2025/26 season.

Adam Aznou, the back-up option, has a lot of potential, but a player of Reguilon’s calibre and experience will provide David Moyes with a safer and more trustworthy option at the back, especially if he plans on rotating the squad.

Reguilon is unlikely to cost Everton much as far as wages are concerned, while the lack of game time under his belt in the last few months does not give him much bargaining power to ask for a key role in the squad either.

West Ham, though an attractive destination, will look to sort out Graham Potter’s future sooner rather than later after defeat to Crystal Palace yesterday and therefore, any newer transfers might be placed on hold for the time being.
