Description

Tottenham face Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday in what is quite simply a game of seismic importance for Spurs.

Sitting 14th in the Premier League after also being knocked out of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, the UEFA Europa League represents Tottenham’s last chance to make the 2024/25 campaign a memorable one.

Victory in the competition would not only see Spurs rewarded with a piece of silverware, but it would also see the north Londoners granted a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.

It could also save Ange Postecoglou his job – amid a claim from sources close to TBR Football which states Tottenham have approach Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace.

Ahead of the UEFA Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, Tottenham fans are beginning to have doubts after seeing footage from training at Hotspur Way.

Clip of Richarlison and Yves Bissouma messing around causes pessimism amongst Spurs supporters

A video has now emerged of Yves Bissouma and Richarlison appearing to mess around in training.

The footage shows the Mali international trying to wave the Brazil international away from him to begin the drill, before the Tottenham No.9 almost kicks the ball into his own face when attempting a skill move.

Of course, it may only be a 20-second clip, but with Tottenham sat 14th in the Premier League and struggling severely, it has not sent out a positive message to the fanbase.

One Tottenham supporter joked that Eintracht Frankfurt should just be given a “bye” into the semi-final at this point, after seeing the Spurs duo not appearing to take training too seriously.

A second Tottenham fan wrote that the club is in “big big trouble” ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt’s visit to N17 – which is perhaps a slight overreaction, but simply a sign of the times at Spurs.

If that was an overreaction, another Tottenham fan even said to “liquidate the club” – clearly annoyed at the video involving Richarlison and Bissouma.

A fourth Tottenham fan said the footage sums up the 2024/25 campaign for Spurs.

A fifth fan echoed the first sentiment, suggesting that the UEFA Europa League quarter-final should simply be called off, as supporters lose faith after seeing the video.

Last but not least, a sixth Tottenham supporter referred to Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid on Tuesday when bemoaning the footage, saying it “used to be us” who conquered the Spanish giants in the UEFA Champions League.

They are referring to the 3-1 win over Real Madrid under Mauricio Pochettino at Wembley in November 2017.

Both Richarlison and Yves Bissouma could leave Tottenham

The Spurs duo look pretty disinterested in the training footage – which could be put down to the fact both have uncertain futures at Tottenham.

TBR Football understand Tottenham are open to selling Richarlison this summer – with Everton keen on bringing the South American back to Merseyside. Spurs were even willing to sell the forward last summer when clubs in Saudi Arabia showed interest.

Tottenham approach ‘top’ Premier League manager amid doubts over Ange Postecoglou - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understand Tottenham have now approached a Premier League manager amid doubts over the future of Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs are weighing up their options ahead of the summer after a truly disappointing 2024/25 campaign under the Australian – who can still salvage the season by winning the UEFA Europa League.

Tottenham face Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening in the first leg of the quarter-final.

Despite the potentiality of European glory, Tottenham sit 14th in the Premier League with 16 defeats in 31 games, which is simply not good enough.

In light of this dreadful league form under Ange Postecoglou, TBR Football understand Spurs have now made an approach to check on Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner.

Tottenham enquire about Oliver Glasner

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – has now been told that the north Londoners have made contact with the Austrian’s representatives amid concerns over Postecoglou.

We understand it is a mere enquiry from Tottenham to gauge what the 50-year-old is currently thinking about his future, as his situation at Crystal Palace is far from concrete.

TBR Football are aware Crystal Palace are trying to agree a new contract with Glasner to recognise his stunning efforts in SE25.

Only Liverpool have taken more Premier League points than the Eagles in 2025 so far, while the south Londoners are also into the semi-final of the FA Cup.

Sources state that Glasner is aware of interest from Tottenham, and is currently stalling on a new contract at Crystal Palace as he awaits answers from Steve Parish on the club’s mid to long-term plans.

The man from Salzburg is currently contracted to Crystal Palace until June 2026.

RB Leipzig also admire Glasner – while Bayer Leverkusen could make a move if Xabi Alonso leaves.

Spurs also want to sign Oliver Glasner favourite

Not only do Tottenham admire Glasner – who has been called a “top coach” – but they also want to take one of his regulars at Crystal Palace.

TBR Football understand Spurs are stepping up their interest in Tyrick Mitchell as they aim to bolster their options down the left flank.

The England international would arrive in N17 as competition for Destiny Udogie if a deal materialised.

Manager says £55m Tottenham target is even better than James Maddison - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer strategy for the summer transfer window appears to be quite clear – sign young, English stars.

Marc Guehi has been linked to Tottenham, Eberechi Eze is a Tottenham target, while Spurs also want Angel Gomes.

On top of that, Tyler Dibling has been linked with Spurs in a deal that could be worth around £55m.

Speaking on The Rest is Football, Russell Martin has been discussing Dibling and how much potential this young man has.

According to the former Southampton manager, Dibling is the most talented player he’s ever worked with, ahead of the likes of James Maddison and even Harry Kane.

Russell Martin hails Tyler Dibling

Martin spoke about Dibling and how talented this young man is alongside Gary Lineker.

The former Saints boss says that Dibling is a top talent, noting that he’s the most talented player he’s ever seen.

“Of the Southampton players that you had, I think there’s a lot of talk and a lot of interest around Tyler Dibling. How good can he be?” Lineker asked.

“He’s so hard on it, because when I was there, I had to balance, not give him too much, try and play it down a lot. And I don’t want to make things more difficult for him, but he’s the most talented player I’ve ever seen,” Martin said.

Lineker replied: “You’ve ever seen or you’ve worked with?”

“Yeah, so seen live, seen on the training pitch. So I worked with James Madison at that age at Norwich. He was outstanding,” Martin replied.

“And Tyler has every capability to go and play for England and at a top level for a very long time, because he’s powerful, he’s really quick. Both feet can shoot, no bang bang. I worked with Harry Kane at 21 when he came to Norwich on loan as well.

“Physically, the stuff I’ve seen him do at 18 in the Premier League, people just bouncing off him and being put on the floor when he dribbles with a ball. He has something I’ve not seen in a British player for a long time.”

The best players Russell Martin has worked with

Martin says Dibling is the best player he’s ever seen on the training pitch, and that is high praise.

As Martin says, he played with the likes of James Maddison and Harry Kane during his playing days, but he also played with and coached some other top players.

Maddison is one of Tottenham’s best players right now, while Kane is a world-class superstar, so the fact that Dibling is being compared to those sorts of players is a testament to his ability.

Martin has also played with the likes of Andy Robertson, Kieran Tierney and John McGinn, while he’s been lucky enough to coach players such as Matt O’Riley, David Brooks and Taylor Harwood-Bellis too.

At the age of just 19, it’s fair to say that Dibling has the world at his feet.

West Ham United offer contract to ‘brilliant’ defender who Tottenham have also held talks to sign - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that West Ham United are trying to win the race to land Kyle Walker-Peters, with the right back soon to become a free agent and in high demand.

Walker-Peters has already confirmed to Southampton that he is ready to quit St Mary’s after relegation was confirmed, TBR Football has been told.

Graham Potter is keen to add quality options to his squad and the Hammers see that in Walker-Peters, although they are just one of several clubs who are keen on the defender.

Four other Premier League clubs could join them in the race for the 27-year-old, however, the East London club have stepped up their pursuit of him.

West Ham United offer Kyle Walker-Peters a contract

Sources have told Graeme Bailey – chief correspondent at TBR Football, that West Ham United have offered a contract to soon-to-be free agent Kyle Walker-Peters.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur have spoken to his representatives and are open to him returning to the club almost five years on from selling him to Southampton.

Spurs paid £8 million plus Walker-Peters, who’s been called ‘brilliant’, to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from the Saints all the way back in the summer of 2020.

TBR Football can confirm that Fulham and Crystal Palace have also shown an interest in the defender and Chelsea are monitoring the situation as they look at possible full-back depth.

Kyle Walker-Peters impresses vs Tottenham despite defeat

Walker-Peters still managed to impress against Tottenham despite the defeat and the Saints being relegated to the Championship.

The defender won 11 of his 13 duels, made five tackles, completed 88 per cent of his 58 passes and only Pedro Porro managed more touches than him.

The 27-year-old has certainly proved himself to be a strong homegrown option for clubs, so it’s no wonder many teams want to recruit him as a free agent.

Tottenham now ready to step up move to sign Crystal Palace star who Jack Grealish called 'brilliant' - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understand Tottenham are now ready to step up their interest in a player who is starring for Crystal Palace.

The Eagles have a number of talented footballers currently performing to a high level, with Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton – who is happy at Crystal Palace – attracting plenty of attention.

Beyond them, the likes of Daniel Munoz and Maxence Lacroix are enjoying excellent seasons, along with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr.

Now – however – TBR Football have been told Tottenham are preparing to push to sign a different Crystal Palace player in Tyrick Mitchell.

Spurs very keen to sign Tyrick Mitchell

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – has now been told that Tottenham are huge admirers of the England international, and have decided to push for his signature this summer.

We understand Mitchell – who Jack Grealish called “brilliant” – is considering his options at Selhurst Park ahead of the summer, as he currently competes against Chelsea loanee Ben Chilwell for a start under Oliver Glasner.

Crystal Palace also tried to sign El Hadji Malick Diouf last winter – who plays down the left – which strongly suggested they are looking to replace Mitchell.

Sources inform TBR Football that Tottenham are keen to upgrade their options on the left, and see the Crystal Palace No.3 as a talented option who could slot in.

Furthermore, sources add that Mitchell is also considering his international future after being ignored by England since his debut in 2022 – with Jamaica an option.

Crystal Palace already have a replacement in mind

If Mitchell does depart for Spurs, Crystal Palace already have an idea of who could come in to replace him.

TBR Football are aware the south Londoners like Dennis Cirkin – who is currently impressing for Sunderland in the Championship with three goals and two assists in 34 appearances – and are believed to be favourites to secure his signature.

Interestingly, Tottenham actually sold the left-back to Sunderland back in 2021 for a sum of just £1m.

Ange Postecoglou calls up 17-year-old midfielder to Tottenham training ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt clash - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for the most important game of their season so far, the Europa League quarter-final first-leg meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs have nothing left to play for this season except for the Europa League, so expectations will be high among fans when they take on the Bundesliga high-flyers on Thursday night.

Ange Postecoglou has been putting his Tottenham players through their paces ahead of a match that could prove important in terms of the manager’s future.

Postecoglou continues to show that he’s not afraid to give youth a chance, with a 17-year-old academy talent spotted taking part in the session at Hotspur Way.

Tye Hall spotted in Tottenham first-team training ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt clash

The player in question is Tye Hall, a 17-year-old midfielder who is currently splitting his time between the Tottenham Under-18s and the Under-21s.

Hall was spotted taking part in Tuesday’s training at Hotspur Way, as per Lilywhite Rose’s X post, with Archie Gray and Richarlison also in the picture.

Hall joined the Tottenham setup at seven years of age and has risen through the ranks over the years.

The young midfielder scored five goals for the Under-16s last season before going full-time in the summer of 2024.

This season, Hall has 13 youth appearances to his name – nine in the U18 Premier League, three in the FA Youth Cup, and one in the U21 division, the Premier League 2.

Tottenham v Eintracht Frankfurt team news

Tottenham are set to be without Dejan Kulusevski and Kevin Danso, who are nursing foot and hamstring injuries respectively.

Radu Dragusin is out for the season due to an ACL tear, but Richarlison could be back in the fold after returning from injury at the weekend.

As for Frankfurt, they may have to keep using the inexperienced Kaua Santos in goal, given Kevin Trapp is injured and Jens Grahl is unregistered.

Ansgar Knauff, Elye Wahi and Timothy Chandler are injured and won’t be involved against the Lilywhites.

Alasdair Gold has noticed something which has changed about Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall in club footage recently - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has noticed something which has changed about Lucas Bergvall in recent club footage.

The 19-year-old has been really impressive for Spurs over recent months with Ange Postecoglou subbing him off against Chelsea really frustrating supporters.

Now, Tottenham are ready to give Bergvall a new contract to reward his incredible progress this season and to ensure his future is locked down in North London.

The midfielder is now one of the first names on Postecoglou’s teamsheet and Gold has spotted something which has changed about him.

Lucas Bergvall is starting to look physically stronger at Tottenham

Lucas Bergvall is starting to look physically stronger at Tottenham Hotspur and appears to have bulked up, claims Alasdair Gold.

Bergvall had a questionable start to life at Tottenham, however, he has certainly overcome his struggles and looks well suited to life in English football.

Bergvall’s performances have left Barcelona gutted they didn’t sign him, having had him stolen from under their noses by Spurs back in January 2024.

Speaking on Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham, Gold claimed: “He’s turning into a big lad as well, I watched the footage of the players coming out the tunnel and he is properly bulking up.

“Every time I see him he looks a little bit stronger and stronger and I know Ange said it’s because he keeps following Deki (Kulusevski) in the gym.

“But it’s impacting his play as well, he’s so much stronger on the ball. He’s going to be one of the first names on the team sheet going forward.”

Lucas Bergvall denied his first Premier League goal by VAR

Bergvall was denied his first Premier League goal for Tottenham by VAR after his strike against Southampton was ruled out for offside in the build-up.

VAR took nearly five minutes to deem that Cristian Romero was in an offside position, much to the frustration of Postecoglou and the young Swede.

Harry Kewell says whether he thinks Tottenham should now sack Ange Postecoglou ahead of the Europa League

Harry Kewell says whether he thinks Tottenham should now sack Ange Postecoglou ahead of the Europa League - TBR Football
Description

Harry Kewell was a part of the Melbourne Victory side that now-Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou managed.

But sadly for Kewell, his time under Postecoglou was promptly cut short as the Spurs tactician decide to release him in an attempt to rebuild his squad.

Ange Postecoglou has always had a clear idea on how he likes his teams to play football and the former Liverpool winger seemingly did not fit into his plans.

Harry Kewell is a manager now himself and most recently, he took over Postecoglou’s former club Yokohama F. Marinos.

Harry Kewell hopes Tottenham don’t sack Ange Postecoglou

Kewell initially provided an insight into the freedom that Ange Postecoglou hands to his players and how much he loves his fellow Australian’s attacking style of play.

While Harry Kewell admitted that Postecoglou’s approach to the game demands his players to give it their all, he is of the belief that Tottenham should stick with him instead of sacking the 59-year-old.

Kewell lauded Ange Postecoglou on Sky Sports: “He’s different, he’s different. But the fact that he allows you to go out and express yourself, I mean, there were times when you’d be at training and you’d stop it and he’d be like, ‘No, let them figure it out’ because that’s what players do and I love the way that he coached and I watch him now at Spurs now and I just think the way he plays the game, I loved. Just full out attack and I would’ve loved to have played for him if I was 23.”

“I would have signed up straightaway knowing that all I can do is attack. The way that I saw him work up in Scotland, I just thought, wow, that’s something I can learn throughout my coaching career to be able to manipulate certain things in that way and I think he gives you the freedom. But that comes with a consequence because he wants that high press, the high energy, the high work rate and again, that’s the exciting thing.”

Darren Bent advised Tottenham to keep Ange Postecoglou and show the patience in him that Arsenal did during their rocky spell under Mikel Arteta — a notion Harry Kewell wholeheartedly agrees with as well as he believes he could similar transform the Lilywhites’ fortunes.

“I really hope so because it’s shown even if you look at the rivals, with Arsenal and I think Mikel has done fantastic and he started off, even though he won the trophy [FA Cup], he started off with a bit of a poor run and words were questioned and people were talking, no, he’s not good enough. But he was allowed that time and now, he’s got a great squad, he’s been able to fulfil that and now he’s pushing for titles.”

“I predict the same for Ange. He’s proven, he’s got a track record of winning stuff and if he’s given time, he will be able to bring his players in and he will be able to really cement the ideas into what he wants, into that team and be able to progress forward.”

Ange Postecoglou’s chances of being sacked by Tottenham

Tim Sherwood predicted Europa League success for Postecoglou and went on to make the bold claim that a statue will be build to honour him.

However, Tottenham could sack Postecoglou even if he does bring European success to them at the end of the season.

While Harry Kewell would perhaps be gutted to see Tottenham part ways with Ange Postecoglou, the belief within the club is no longer “unwavering” in his favour.

Tottenham interested in signing £50m striker who scored against Liverpool twice this season

Tottenham interested in signing £50m striker who scored against Liverpool twice this season - TBR Football
Description

Although Tottenham Hotspur signed Dominic Solanke last summer, Spurs are thought to be in the market for another new striker in a few months’ time.

Whether Ange Postecoglou is in charge or not, Tottenham reportedly intend to invest in their playing squad – Daniel Levy is perhaps recognising the need to show more ambition on a footballing front.

Tottenham want a new striker who can compete with Solanke up top, a summer arrival who has been fairly average in his first season.

Solanke has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions – numbers that haven’t been helped by a couple of injuries.

But Tottenham fans have questioned Solanke at times, especially following his performance against Southampton last weekend.

Tottenham considering move for Fulham’s Rodrigo Muniz

That being said, Give Me Sport are now reporting that Tottenham are contemplating a move for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz this summer.

Fulham rate Muniz at £50m according to the report, a striker who is also catching the eye of Chelsea and West Ham United.

Funnily enough, Muniz actually has an identical record to Solanke this season – 11 goals in 35 games.

Of course, one of those goals came in a 3-2 win against Liverpool last weekend, a side he also scored against at Anfield.

But at 23-years-old, the Brazilian is thought to have a lot of potential, a striker who scored eight goals in eight games during a Premier League purple patch last term.

Although, Tottenham might not have too much luck in prizing Muniz away from Fulham any time soon.

Fulham have no interest in selling Muniz

According to the same report, Fulham are ready to reject any approach from Tottenham or any other Premier League club.

Instead, the west Londoners want to hand Muniz a new contract to cement his place as part of their long-term future.

Of course, Tottenham were interested in Muniz at the start of last year, a player who shared an agent with James Maddison and Son Heung-min at the time.

In fact, Spurs made contact with Fulham about Muniz according to reports in Brazil, suggesting that their interest could be long-term.

However, at the prices mentioned, the Brazilian would arguably not be good value for Tottenham, even if he is showing a lot of promise at Craven Cottage.

Raul Jimenez has still predominantly been Marco Silva’s starting number nine when fully fit this season and the Mexican has forgone Muniz’s tally with 12 goals in all competitions.

Tottenham ready to give £50m star a new contract this summer on much improved terms - TBR Football
Description

Daniel Levy will be aware that Tottenham Hotspur have one or two contract situations to address as soon as possible.

As things stand all of Son Heung-min, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma will enter the final year of their Tottenham contract in the summer.

Fortunately, it’s already been revealed that Tottenham are ready to enter contract talks with Bentancur, a midfielder who has taken more responsibility under Ange Postecoglou this season.

And speaking of Postecoglou’s midfield, some will feel that a rebuild is needed this summer to some degree, if Spurs’ current incumbent is sticking around.

Aston Villa want Bissouma according to reports, and other than retaining their young gems in the middle, Tottenham fans would probably be open to change.

Tottenham planning Lucas Bergvall contract talks

Speaking of young superstars in midfield, Lucas Bergvall’s first season in N17 has been a real positive for Tottenham.

Bergvall has thrived in difficult circumstances and the prospect of the Sweden international playing alongside Archie Gray in the middle long-term is a very exciting one.

That being said, Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt are now reporting that Bergvall’s good form will result in a new contract.

The source revealed that Spurs now value Bergvall at £50m and they also shared that negotiations on a new and improved contract for the midfielder are being planned for the summer.

Bergvall’s current deal runs all the way until 2029 but Tottenham want to reward the youngster for his seriously impressive start in north London, a player who could be integral to their project for years to come.

In total the 19-year-old has made 40 appearances for Spurs in all competitions since arriving from Djurgarden in the summer, a tally even he might not have expected.

In terms of exciting youngsters in N17, it’s hard not to mention Luca Williams-Barnett, especially when considering Tottenham’s midfield long-term.

Williams-Barnett has been brilliant for Tottenham’s youth sides this season and has already scored an extraordinary amount of goals in a number 10 role.

Therefore, some Spurs fans with an eye on the academy might already be dreaming of a midfield that one day contains Gray, Bergvall and Williams-Barnett.

Of course, when you consider that Wilson Odobert and Mikey Moore could also play ahead of that trio in attack, there’s still plenty of reason for optimism despite this difficult season.

Tottenham are still building a seriously talented crop of youngsters, and whether it’s under Posteocoglou’s guidance or not, they should promise a lot of success in the future.
