Tottenham Hotspur are safely through to the last 16 of the Europa League after seeing off Elfsborg in North London on Thursday night.

Spurs had to wait to open the scoring against a strong Elfsborg defence but they went on to break the deadlock in the 70th minute.

Dane Scarlett, not long recalled from his loan at Oxford United, headed home from Dejan Kulusevski’s cross just four minutes after coming off the bench.

Fellow academy talent Damola Ajayi then doubled Tottenham’s lead with a superb debut goal in the 84th minute of the match.

The 19-year-old drove in from the right, played the ball into Scarlett’s path and put the return pass low into the bottom-right corner of the net.

Then, in injury time, Mikey Moore netted his first for Tottenham with a drive into the bottom-left corner.

Although Tottenham won comprehensively, there was still a major cause for concern that led to Spurs fans making a late transfer request.

Tottenham fans call for new centre-back after Radu Dragusin comes off

Tottenham have been in the midst of an injury crisis for most of the season, with the back line mostly affected.

Radu Dragusin became the latest Spurs defender to have to come off, going down just after the hour with an apparent knee issue.

Although Dragusin attempted to continue after receiving treatment on the pitch, he ended up going down in pain and had to come off.

As a result, Tottenham fans called for the club’s hierarchy to make a new centre-back a priority before the transfer window shuts on Monday.

“With Dragusin now injured, we NEED to sign another CB,” one fan wrote on X.

“Currently playing an 18-year-old midfielder and a 31-year-old LB at centre-back… both doing all they can.”

Another fan said: “Dragusin injured now. We are cursed. Sign a CB urgently.”

The calls kept coming, with one supporter saying: “I hope Dragusin is okay. Spurs had better redirect that €60m to an actual CB.”

Another wrote: “On everything please forget about Mathys Tel. Dragusin now injured. Need a CB immediately.”

Another added, in the context of Spurs’ talks over Mathys Tel: “Unless we sign a CB or 2, he may have to play on the back line lol.

“Especially if Dragusin is going to be out for any amount of time.”

Who is currently out for Tottenham

Spurs have had multiple key players out of contention for much of the season and, as things stand, nine players are unavailable.

Dominic Solanke, Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Wilson Odobert are currently out.

Spence is expected to be back by the weekend, however, while the likes of Micky van de Ven, Richarlison, Ben Davies and Mikey Moore have recently returned after being on the sidelines.

Heung-min Son, Cristian Romero and Dejan Kulusevski have now all made comments which Daniel Levy needs to take note of at Tottenham

The pressure is continuing to build on Daniel Levy with Dejan Kulusevski the latest Tottenham Hotspur player to call for help from the club.

Tottenham fans showed their frustration towards Levy with banners displaying ‘Levy Out’ during their 2-1 defeat at home to Leicester City.

Over recent months players have also spoken out against the ownership questioning their ambition and lack of support for the team.

The North London club are currently experiencing an awful injury crisis and with just a few days left in the transfer window, they are yet to make a single outfield signing.

What Son, Romero and Kulusevski have all said about Daniel Levy

Dejan Kulusevski is the third Tottenham player to have called out the shortcomings at the top of the club with the Swede demanding help for Ange Postecoglou and the squad.

Son Heung-min and Cristian Romero have also spoken about Levy and the board should be taking note of the concerns from their best players.

Speaking ahead of IF Elsborg, Kulusevski told the media: “You can look at the manager, you can look at the players, but it’s bigger than that.”

Last month, Romero told the media: “The last few years, it’s always the same people responsible [at Tottenham].

“Hopefully, they [Tottenham hierarchy] realise who the true responsible ones are, and we move forward because it’s a beautiful club that, with the structure it has, could easily be competing for the title every year.”

Meanwhile, when discussing Tottenham’s injury crisis Son said: “I told you before the season, but there are so many games that there are cases where injuries are inevitable.

“I think we should pay attention to these parts. I’m thinking once again that the club should pay more attention to this.”

Tottenham must support Ange Postecoglou in the final days of the window

Tottenham supporters are rightfully frustrated that after 30 days into the January transfer, their club has failed to secure one outfield signing.

Antonin Kinsky is the only arrival at Spurs so far which is just not good enough considering the club’s list of injuries.

Daniel Levy is personally leading the charge to sign £50m player for Tottenham before deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur supporters across the globe must be hoping that Daniel Levy can bring a collective smile to their faces by helping facilitate the acquisition of a new signing this month.

During their recent 2-1 defeat against Leicester City, Tottenham fans unveiled a banner opposing Levy — who has especially been in the headlines due to how poorly Spurs have performed this season.

So much so that Arsenal legend Ian Wright was critical of Daniel Levy as well as the retired striker feels the Tottenham chairman is holding them back from becoming a successful club.

However, a new signing or two could certainly help quieten the criticism surrounding Daniel Levy — especially if the player in question is a budding superstar like Tyler Dibling.

A few days ago, TBR Football exclusively revealed that Tottenham could sign Dibling on loan with an option-to-buy in a potential deal this January — who Southampton value at £50 million.

Tottenham are reportedly in talks to sign Dibling as well, who has a case of being the Premier League’s biggest breakout star this campaign.

Daniel Levy trying to sign Tyler Dibling for Tottenham

Tottenham would love to sign Dibling in January, who could add a spark to a side that looks out of ideas in every respect.

Dibling, who was compared to Gareth Bale is a similarly skillful winger who has dazzled with his quick feet, brilliant technique and bravery in possession despite being in a woeful Southampton team who are languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table.

GiveMeSport have claimed that Daniel Levy is “leading the charge” to sign Dibling in the winter window. Furthermore, it has been reported that the 18-year-old is looking for a new challenge as he does not intend to continue battling for relegation until the end of the season.

Manchester United reportedly love Dibling as well but Tottenham are making “serious enquiries” over agreeing a fee for the youngster in January instead of waiting to do so in the summer.

Daniel Levy’s wish is to add the Englishman to his roster in the current window.

Ivan Juric aims to keep Dibling at Southampton, however.

Heung-min Son spotted speaking to Tottenham target Tyler Dibling

Ange Postecoglou is certainly in need of a brand-new right-winger.

The injured Brennan Johnson has been deemed “frustrating” as his form has dried up.

Dejan Kulusevski looks exhausted and ideally, Ange Postecoglou would like to play him in his preferred number 10 position.

Wilson Odobert is not back from injury anytime soon as well and he too would perhaps be viewed as a natural left-winger.

However, Heung-min Son was spotted speaking to Dibling after Tottenham demolished Southampton 5-0 in December.

If the highly-rated wideman does end up in a Spurs shirt, Daniel Levy and Son might be heralded by the Lilywhites supporters as his talent speaks for itself.

Tottenham in ‘concrete talks’ to sign £22.5m striker who is now set for Brighton move

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a whole host of strikers during the ongoing January transfer window.

The standout name is Mathys Tel, who Tottenham have opened talks to sign this month.

Tottenham have been offered Noah Okafor from AC Milan as well.

Another striker who Tottenham are keen on signing is Stefanos Tzimas from Greek giants PAOK, who is on loan at Bundesliga 2 club Nurnberg.

Tzimas has established his reputation as an emerging talent — registering 10 goals and two assists in 12 league starts this season.

Tottenham in talks with Stefanos Tzimas but he wants Brighton move

Tottenham target Tzimas was mentored by Miroslav Klose, which explains why the 19-year-old is as lethal as he is in front of goal. More than two weeks ago, TBR Football exclusively revealed Tzimas was open to a Premier League transfer — with Liverpool approaching the Greek centre-forward in an attempt to sign him.

Journalist Florian Plettenburg has reported that Tottenham and Aston Villa are in the race to sign Tzimas and have engaged in “concrete talks” and negotiations to secure his services.

However, the youngster is “leaning towards a move” to Brighton & Hove Albion — after having had “very good talks” with Seagulls boss Fabian Huerzeler — who are now in “pole position” to sign him.

FC Nurnberg will first active the €18 million (£15 million) option-to-buy clause in the sought-after marksman’s loan deal and then demand an initial €25 million (£22.5 million) fee plus add-ons.

While Ange Postecoglou is eyeing a versatile forward, he could certainly do with another striker as well. While Tottenham are targeting a new forward, as things stand, Tzimas looks Brighton-bound.

Tottenham trying to sign Mathys Tel as quickly as possible

Most top clubs in serious need of a player have alternatives in place in case they are unable to sign one of their targets.

As Tzimas might be set for a move to Brighton, Spurs fans will be happy to discover that Tottenham are swiftly trying to sign Tel as they are aware that other high-profile clubs could snag him away from them.

Tottenham aim to “go big” for Tel’s signature as well.

However, Tel reportedly aims to join Manchester United, which is bad news for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The North Londoners will be hoping that they can somehow manage to beat Brighton in the battle to sign the in-demand goalscorer at the very last minute.

Tottenham would absolutely love to sign £55m teenager this month

Description

We’re into the final days of the transfer window, and Tottenham have plenty of work to do towards the end of this month.

Tottenham are looking for a new striker, as they have been for a while.

Indeed, Tottenham wanted Randal Kolo Muani earlier this month, while Spurs are now keen on Mathys Tel.

However, it’s not just a new striker that Tottenham have been looking at.

Spurs are also looking to bolster the other attacking areas.

Tottenham have been linked with Rayan Cherki in recent times, while Tyler Dibling has been linked to Tottenham too.

Dibling has been linked with Spurs, and according to Sky Sports’ Jeremy Langdon, this is indeed a player Tottenham are very keen on, with the journalist claiming that Tottenham would love to sign Dibling this month.

Tottenham would love to sign Tyler Dibling this month

Langdon shared what he knows about Tottenham’s transfer plans.

The journalist says that Spurs do want a new striker, with Evan Ferguson a potential option.

Meanwhile, he also noted that Tottenham would love to sign Tyler Dibling this month.

Dibling has been valued at £55m recently after a breakout season with Southampton.

“Spurs are in the market for a frontman. Evan Ferguson would fit the bill down at Brighton, he’s only 20, proven in the Premier League and Brighton are willing to sell. Tyler Dibling, only 18, he’s been a sensation down at Southampton, A teenager with 20 appearacnes. We think that Spurs would love him, but whether they can get him there this season remains to be seen,” Langdon said.

Tottenham’s teenage signings

Tottenham are, once again, on the trail of another promising teenager, and that’s not surprising to see.

Indeed, over the past few years, it does appear as though Tottenham’s transfer strategy has largely centred around signing promising teenage talents who can grow and improve in north London.

Dibling would be perhaps the most high-profile and most expensive of these additiosn, but this is the sort of signing that is very much in Tottenham’s wheelhouse at the moment,.

Spurs seem to be really cornering this market of signing talented young teenagers, and Dibling could be the next man up on that front.

As Langdon says, it remains to be seen if Spurs can get this deal done this month, but this is certainly one to keep a close eye on.

Tottenham’s stance over making Yoane Wissa move this month as their priority transfer is revealed

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Brentford have denied holding talks with Tottenham Hotspur over Yoane Wissa and are firm in their stance that he is not for sale.

Wissa has been in fine form for Brentford this term netting 11 Premier League goals and helping Thomas Frank’s side have a shot at European football.

Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have also shown an interest in Wissa and Forest have already had a £22 million bid for Wissa rejected.

Should Ange Postecoglou’s side be serious about signing Wissa, Daniel Levy would need to make an unusual move for him and pay above the odds, however, their priority appears to lie elsewhere.

Tottenham prioritising Mathys Tel over Yoane Wissa

Tottenham are now prioritising a move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel over Yoane Wissa, sources have told TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey.

Any move for Wissa this month would be very tricky given Brentford remain firm over their stance that the 28-year-old is not for sale at any price.

Earlier this month, the Bees also made that clear to Nottingham Forest after rejecting their opening bid and with Arsenal expressing a desire to sign him.

Thomas Frank also warned that Wissa is not for sale after being asked about the interest from other Premier League clubs.

Tottenham intend to sign a new forward to replenish their attacking department and whilst Wissa is a player they are understood to hold an interest in, Spurs’ priority is Tel.

What is the latest with Mathys Tel to Tottenham?

Tottenham have told Bayern they are willing to offer a loan with an obligation to buy deal for Tel with the Lilywhites firmly in the race, TBR Football has reported.

Bayern are keen to sell him and want in excess of £40 million, but would be open to such a formula with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United also interested in him.

Tottenham ready to offer £8m defender the chance to return to Spurs on a free transfer

TBR Football exclusively understands that Tottenham are ready to offer Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters a route back to the club.

Walker-Peters left Tottenham in 2020 to take a more prominent role at Southampton, something the versatile full-back has definitely achieved.

The England international has played 21 times for the Saints in the Premier League this season, a campaign that has transpired to be a disappointing one.

However, with just six-months left on his contract, it currently doesn’t appear that Walker-Peters will be playing Championship football at St Mary’s next season, a defender who is ready to leave on a free transfer.

Tottenham hoping to welcome Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club on a free transfer

That being said, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Walker-Peters has just rejected a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Galatasaray were ready to meet Southampton’s £8m asking price for the 27-year-old, but Walker-Peters has shunned the chance to move to Istanbul this month.

Leicester City have also been interested, but refused to meet Southampton’s asking price earlier this month.

Southampton are looking to sell, knowing that Walker-Peters is ready to leave for nothing in the summer once his contract expires.

Crystal Palace are also known to be interested, but it is believed that Walker-Peters’ former club Tottenham are ready to offer him a return to north London in the summer.

Tottenham have been interested in a Walker-Peters reunion for a while, and a return to N17 would appeal to the defender, who has already made 24 senior appearances in white.

Walker-Peters admitted that it was ‘really difficult’ leaving Spus

Speaking back in 2023, Walker-Peters spoke about his decision to leave the club and revealed how things changed for him once Jose Mourinho replaced Pochettino as manager.

Walker-Peters said: “Pochettino, the manager at the time, had his plan for me and ultimately I think his plan was a success.

“He always said that one day I would play for Tottenham regularly and he often gave me the opportunity to play.

“With Mourinho coming in, I knew what he wanted. We had various conversations, which was the great thing about Mourinho – he was extremely honest.

“He never forced me out of the club. He never said ‘I don’t want you’, he just gave me a decision.

“He explained to me what my role would be, and I felt like at 22 I needed to be playing regularly, so I made the decision to come here and I’m glad I made it.

“I look back on it fondly, without Tottenham, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It was really difficult (leaving Spurs).

“Tottenham was my home, I was comfortable there, but I thought to myself ‘sometimes you need to come out of your comfort zone.

“If I really want to show everyone how good I am, I need to be playing regularly. If I want to play for England, I need to be playing regularly.

“It was either be comfortable, or show the world how good I am. That’s what I wanted to do.”

Tottenham have held internal talks about signing ‘incredible’ Newcastle United player

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be busier than Newcastle United in the final days of the winter transfer window.

The North Londoners are desperately searching for a new striker, while reinforcements in defence are a necessity too because of their injury issues.

Daniel Levy is pushing to sign Angel Gomes as well in this window, so it’s going to be a very interesting few days for Spurs fans.

Among all the players Tottenham have considered is a Newcastle United man.

What happened after Tottenham discussed making a move to sign Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle

Newcastle signed Lloyd Kelly from Bournemouth on a free transfer last summer.

The defender was viewed as a versatile option for Eddie Howe, one who could solve problems at both centre-half and left-back.

Kelly played in each of Newcastle’s first five Premier League games this season, but he has made just four appearances in the English top-flight since.

TBR Football revealed in January that Kelly is frustrated with life under Howe at Newcastle after not getting the game time he wants.

Now, Ben Jacobs has revealed that Tottenham discussed the prospect of signing the ‘incredible‘ Kelly in this window, but the journalist has claimed that Newcastle ‘battered it off’.

Speaking about defenders Spurs have considered, Jacobs said on the Last Word On Spurs podcast: “I mentioned on the last show Milan Skriniar and I think that was widely reported, but he’s gone to Fenerbahce. Tottenham had considered that opportunity.

“Kevin Danso, as I’ve discussed before, the price is just too high. Not impossible, but I feel like it’s Wolves really pushing on that deal at the moment rather than Tottenham.

“I know internally they discussed Lloyd Kelly and Newcastle had kind of battered it off and then there was some interest from Italy in him.”

The kind of deal Tottenham are looking for to strengthen their defence

Tottenham’s defence has had a lot of problems this season.

Archie Gray, who is naturally a midfielder, has had to fill in at the back. That has not been ideal at all, even though he has done a great job there.

However, despite the issues in their defence, Jacobs has claimed that Tottenham’s priority in this window is a new attacker and not a defender.

That is worrying because of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero’s injury records, but Spurs haven’t completely ruled out a move in the final days of the window.

Jacobs has claimed that Spurs would like a deal similar to the one they sealed for Clement Lenglet in 2022 – an easy loan move for an experienced defender.

Whether that would be possible in the coming days, however, remains to be seen.

Tottenham trying to sign ‘extraordinary’ player as quickly as they can as they want deal wrapped up urgently

We’re into the final few days of the January transfer window, and things are starting to move at a breakneck speed.

Indeed, after weeks of sitting on their hands, the Premier League’s top clubs appear to have sparked into life.

Tottenham are yet to sign a new outfield player this month, despite consistent transfer links to key targets.

Tottenham wanted Randal Kolo Muani at one point, while Spurs were in talks for Milan Skriniar.

Now, with days of the window to go, Spurs have some work to do, and it would appear that Mathys Tel is a key target for Tottenham.

Spurs want Tel, and, more pertinently, they want a deal done for the attacker as soon as possible.

Tottenham want Mathys Tel deal done quickly

According to Lequipe, Tottenham want to have a deal wrapped up quickly for Mathys Tel.

Spurs may do a loan or a permanent deal, but, importantly, they want negotiations to accelerate quickly.

Indeed, according to this report, Tottenham are well aware that there are clubs in better positions also vying to sign Tel.

Tottenham are 15th in the Premier League, so their bargaining power is hardly incredible at the moment.

Manchester United want Tel, Chelsea have been linked with the striker, while Arsenal are also keen on Tel.

However, Tottenham are hoping to beat these teams to the punch and get this deal over the line.

The Frenchman is a top talent. In fact, he’s been described as ‘extraordinary’ in the past by Thierry Henry.

Tottenham deals that were hijacked

Tottenham want to get this deal wrapped up quickly, and it’s easy to understand why.

With so many teams circling around Tel, it would be easy for this deal to get hijacked, and Tottenham know this feeling only too well.

Randal Kolo Muani joined Juventus instead of Tottenham just this month, while in the past, Luis Diaz and Willian looked set to join Tottenham at certain points only to end up at Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.

William Saliba almost joined Spurs before heading to Arsenal too.

Adama Traore is another one that got away in January 2022 as he joined Barcelona on loan instead of Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Tottenham nearly signed Sadio Mane before his move to Liverpool too.

Tottenham know that if they don’t act quickly towards the end of a transfer window things can change in an instant, and, for that reason, they need to get this Tel deal wrapped up promptly.

Tottenham director takes action over Mathys Tel at Bayern Munich’s Champions League game as Spurs try to buy him

Things are really heating up in the transfer window with just days to go.

Indeed, top Premier League clubs are starting to ramp up their interest in their targets, and after a long month of difficult results, Tottenham are starting to make moves.

Tottenham have been in the market for a new attacker this month.

Spurs wanted Randal Kolo Muani before his move to Juventus, while Tottenham have also been linked to Jonathan David.

Tottenham have been linked to Mathys Tel over the past 24 hours, and according to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are ready to buy the Bayern Munich striker with one of Spurs’ key figures in attendance at Bayern Munich’s Champions League game on Wednesday.

Tottenham director watched Mathys Tel vs Slovan Bratislava

According to Romano, the race to sign Mathys Tel is heating up.

The striker has been valued at £40m, and according to Romano, Tottenham are ready to invest in a permanent deal.

The journalist says that a Tottenham director was in attendance at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for Spurs, they won’t have a clear run at this signing.

Indeed, Romano also notes that Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on Tel, so that could cause Spurs a problem.

Mathys Tel stats vs Slovan Bratislava

A Tottenham director was in attendance to watch Tel play against Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday, and they were treated to what has to be described as a lively performance.

Tel didn’t manage to score a goal in this game, but he was a very consistent threat.

Indeed, the stats show that Tel was getting into dangerous areas and making things happen.

Seven shots in 61 minutes of football is quite staggering, but the worry is that he didn’t find the net.

Tottenham already have a plethora of attackers who can get into good positions only to not finish – Timo Werner and Richarlison come to mind, and the last thing they need is another striker of that ilk.

Tel is yet to score a single goal in any competition this season, and that fact should have alarm bells ringing at Spurs.
