Description

TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have informed Son Heung-min that he can leave the club this summer for the right offer.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to tour Asia, including Korea, this summer; therefore, a departure before they return on August 8 is unlikely, given that he’ll be a key attraction.

The Spurs legend recently turned 33, and his performances last term showed signs that his best years are now behind him, although he still managed 21 goal contributions.

Thomas Frank is expected to hand him a limited playing role in the squad with the likes of Mathys Tel, Richarlison, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert competing for a spot at the left wing.

Exclusive: Son Heung-Min can leave Tottenham for the right price

Son Heung-min is available for sale at Tottenham with the North London club still looking to add to their attacking options, sources have told Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent at TBR Football.

As TBR Football exclusively revealed, Frank is confident Tottenham will sign Yoanne Wissa ahead of Newcastle United, who are keen on the Brentford attacker.

Son is open to staying at Tottenham, and the club will respect his decision, but if they receive a good offer and the winger gives the green light, a transfer is more than likely.

Bailey told TBR Football: “He’s aware that he can leave if there’s a suitable offer. He’s not a cornerstone of what Tottenham are planning going forward. We know Tottenham have brought in Kudus, and they still want to sign Wissa.

“I don’t think Tottenham would have any issues if he stayed, but don’t be massively surprised if he moves on by the end of the window.

“He’s definitely available to go, and there are a few options out there for him. But he’s not a key part of Tottenham’s plans going forward.”

Mohammed Kudus’ arrival at Tottenham further limits Son’s chances of playing as the Ghanaian international can play across the front line.

At this stage, Tel is likely to be Spurs’ first choice left winger after they made his move from Bayern Munich permanent for £30m.

Thomas Frank set to provide clarity over Son Heung-min’s Tottenham future

Frank is set to issue clarity over Son’s future in North London on Friday afternoon as the Danish head coach gives his first press conference at Hotspur Way.

Spurs are due to play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday as they travel away to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading.

The 51-year-old is set to discuss his plans for several players, but one of the key talking points is likely to be the South Korean’s future.

Cristian Romero’s future also remains unclear, with Atletico Madrid having been targeting a move for the defender.

Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham will only accelerate Nottingham Forest players’ big fear for next season

Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham will only accelerate Nottingham Forest players' big fear for next season - TBR Football
Description

Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham Hotspur is continuing to dominate headlines a week after the Lilywhites triggered his release clause.

Evangelos Marinakis is furious about the Gibbs-White situation and has been blocking the move for the midfielder to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham remain intent on signing Gibbs-White and are currently having to be patient as they wait for the issue to get resolved.

Nottingham Forest are keen to make sure the players stay at the City Ground and they are right to do so given his importance to the team.

Morgan Gibbs-White is essential to Nuno Espirito Santo’s tactics

On Wednesday, reports suggested Forest players were concerned about replicating their playing style next season following the departure of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United.

Losing the winger’s pace means that Nuno Espirito Santo’s tactics of being lethal on the counter might not be quite so effective.

However, losing Morgan Gibbs-White should be more of a concern to their players, with the England international integral to their style of play.

The 25-year-old has become so much more than just a creative number ten, and last season, he transitioned into a midfielder who can do a bit of everything.

Gibbs-White’s ability to drive the team forward and play extraordinary passes is unlike most players in the Premier League; something Nuno’s team would miss considerably if he left.

The midfielder’s pass to set up Callum Hudson-Odoi’s winning goal against Manchester City is the type of quality Forest will struggle to replace.

For the third season running, Gibbs-White managed over ten goal contributions, as he netted seven times whilst also getting eight assists.

He ended the 2024/25 campaign having been directly involved in a quarter of Forest’s goals, according to Opta Analyst.

Nuno’s side cannot afford to lose Gibbs-White, so Evangelos Marinakis is right to put up such a fight to keep hold of him.

Nottingham Forest have just offered Morgan Gibbs-White a new contract

In a last-ditch effort to keep him at the City Ground, Ben Jacobs has revealed that Forest have put a new contract offer on the table for Gibbs-White to sign.

Gibbs-White has been refusing Forest’s new contract offer for almost a year now, but the Midlands club are making one last bid.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “My understanding is to counter Tottenham’s desire to get that deal done, Forest are to make a new contract offer to Morgan Gibbs-White.

“Now we have to wait and see what happens, Gibbs-White’s keen on Spurs. If the parties can resolve it via the clause or a different amount, then Gibbs-White is willing to do the Tottenham medical that was scheduled and then cancelled. But Forest haven’t given up on keeping Morgan Gibbs-White.”

Description

Morgan Gibbs-White’s chances of joining Tottenham Hotspur may have just increased.

The saga of Gibbs-White’s potential move to Spurs rumbles on with Nottingham Forest standing firm over their stance that the player is not leaving.

Last week, Tottenham triggered Gibbs-White’s release clause, but that has left the Midlands club furious, and they want answers as to how Spurs found out about this £60m clause.

But the North London club are not giving up on doing a deal for the 25-year-old and remain intent on securing his signature this summer.

Nottingham Forest looking at Morgan Gibbs-White replacements

Nottingham Forest have started looking at replacements for Morgan Gibbs-White, suggesting that they believe he could still depart, according to Ben Jacobs.

There is a sense that Forest are buying themselves time by stalling the deal for their captain and in that time, they have been looking at new players.

One of the players they are looking at is Leicester City forward Bilal El Khannouss, who has a release clause worth around £22m.

Jacobs told NUFC Matters YouTube channel: “It’s buying Forest time and in the time taken, Forest are looking at Morgan Gibbs-White replacements, which tells you they still think there’s a chance he could go to Spurs.

“Bilal El Khannouss, at Leicester, is one name to watch. He has a 26m euro relegation release clause, and Forest are one of at least three Premier League clubs that have expressed an interest in the Moroccan international.”

The Daily Mail has also linked Manchester City’s James McAtee with a move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

The 22-year-old could be the perfect replacement for Gibbs-White following an impressive European Championship as he lifted the trophy for England U-21.

Tottenham still think they can sign Morgan Gibbs-White

Tottenham Hotspur still believe that they can get a deal over the line to sign Gibbs-White and remain patiently waiting for things to start moving again.

Gibbs-White is keen to join Tottenham, and as TBR Football revealed, he has communicated this desire to Nottingham Forest.

Gibbs-White returned to training on Monday and was still training with the Forest squad on Thursday morning.

However, Gibbs-White wants his future resolved by Monday when Forest are due to travel for their pre-season camp.

Jacobs added: “The Gibbs-White situation is that Spurs still think they can get this deal over the line, they argue they haven’t breached any rule over the release clause.

“However, they could make a bid, they could make a bid higher than the clause on different terms and then Nottingham Forest would have to decide whether they want this to all go away and just sell a player who wants to move to Spurs.”

Pedro Porro is already a big fan of Tottenham's £55m star which might disappoint Brennan Johnson - TBR Football
Description

Brennan Johnson might not be best pleased after seeing Pedro Porro’s latest social media post.

Tottenham Hotspur players are all now back training at Hotspur Way following the summer break, and their first pre-season game is just around the corner.

Thomas Frank will take charge of his first game as Spurs head coach on Saturday as his team face Reading at the Madejski Stadium.

The game will allow the Lilywhites supporters a chance to see some fresh faces and some new partnerships forming in Frank’s new-look set-up.

Pedro Porro and Mohammed Kudus could form a dynamic duo at Tottenham

Pedro Porro has been quick to show Mohammed Kudus love at Tottenham Hotspur and the pair could be about to form a deadly connection.

Kudus joined Tottenham for £55m in a deal that took several weeks following lengthy discussions with West Ham United over a fee.

Porro and Kudus are likely to be Frank’s first-choice right-sided players, with Brennan Johnson dropping to the bench.

Along with a photo of him and Kudus in the treatment room, Porro wrote on his Instagram: “My winger”.

Porro was quick to welcome Kudus on social media, joking ‘now I just have to put up with your 1v1s in training’.

It’s clear that the Spaniard is already a big fan of the Ghanaian international and is looking forward to linking up with him next season.

Frank should be very excited by the prospect of having a right side with two players who possess the technical quality of Porro and Kudus.

Kudus, who’s been called a ‘superstar’, is set to compete with Johnson for a spot on the right side, so the Welsh international might not be best pleased with Porro’s Instagram story.

Although with Champions League football back on the menu at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, there will be plenty of chances for both players, and rotation will be key.

Mohammed Kudus could benefit from being in a stronger Tottenham team

Kudus and West Ham had a very tricky campaign last term, as the Hammers’ struggles as a team meant that the winger’s performances also dipped.

The Ghanaian’s underlying data remained strong, though as he created more chances, completed more crosses and more take-ons than Johnson.

The Welsh international was a great beneficiary of Ange Postecoglou’s tactics, which often saw him get plenty of chances at the back post.

But his overall contribution to the team was questioned at times, and Kudus could well bring a more dynamic threat down the right side for Spurs.

Description

TBR Football understands that a number of Premier League clubs are making enquiries and keeping close tabs on AC Milan’s bid for Swiss starlet Ardon Jashari.

Milan have made a couple of approaches to Club Brugge, with their latest offer worth up to £32 million remaining on the table.

Jashari initially refused to turn up for pre-season as he looked to force through a move to Milan, but he has since returned to the club.

Italian sources have confirmed to TBR Football that, having already signed Samuele Ricci and Luka Modric, new Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri wanted a younger talent, and Jashari was his man.

However, it is also understood that Milan are now ready to move on from Jashari if they can’t soon agree on terms with Club Brugge.

Sources: Tottenham and Nottingham Forest tracking Ardon Jashari

With that, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that several Premier League clubs are keeping close tabs on Ardon Jashari’s situation.

Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham United are keeping a close eye on the situation, as there is the prospect that he could be attainable.

The 22-year-old is also a player whom TBR Football can reveal Arsenal and Manchester City scouted heavily last season.

Jashari is a player many clubs consider one of the best young talents in his position in Europe, and he has even been likened to Declan Rice.

Brugge has stated in the last week that they do not want to lose the 22-year-old holding midfielder, who is seen as a real star of the future.

Club Brugge sporting director Devy Rigaux told Het Laatste Nieuws: “We believe that Ardon’s cycle has not yet been completed at the club. We are convinced that Ardon will make a top transfer, but only at a time when it is right for everyone.”

Ardon Jashari could be the ideal Yves Bissouma replacement for Tottenham

Tottenham are on the hunt for a new midfielder this summer, and the Swiss International could be the perfect option for them.

Jashari can play in several roles across the midfield, but he is predominantly a number six, which is what Spurs are most in need of.

TBR Football understands that Tottenham are ready to sell Yves Bissouma and his team are working to find him a new club.

The midfielder was offered to Juventus, but following talks with intermediaries and Bissouma’s people, nothing really progressed.

Bissouma has made it clear to Spurs that whilst he knows he has been told to leave, which he is starting to accept, he will only take the right offer.

How Morgan Gibbs-White has behaved in Nottingham Forest training this week, as Tottenham hatch new plan - TBR Football
Description

Tottenham are still trying to take Morgan Gibbs-White away from Nottingham Forest.

The England international is currently in limbo as Spurs and the Reds wrestle over his future.

Nottingham Forest have offered Gibbs-White a new contract which would remove his £60m release clause, the sum Evangelos Marinakis is furious about the public discovering after Spurs triggered it.

The Reds threatened to report Tottenham to the Premier League for what they felt to be an illegal approach towards the 25-year-old.

Now, a new story from the Daily Mail provides the latest on the Morgan Gibbs-White saga.

Tottenham consider increasing Morgan Gibbs-White bid as training behaviour claim made

Tom Collomosse now writes that Tottenham have held internal discussions over whether to send a new bid worth £65m to Nottingham Forest.

Spurs do not actually need to do this by the letter of the law given the fixed £60m release clause, and the Daily Mail add that Tottenham have little idea about whether this would actually alter Nottingham Forest’s stance.

However, it could help the situation by adding a £5m sweetener on top of the £60m bid.

Collomosse adds that Gibbs-White “has shown an exemplary attitude in training” since returning to Nottingham at the beginning of the week, having been granted extended leave for his involvement with England in the middle of June.

Above all, however, the Nottingham Forest No.10 is said to want his future resolved before the Reds fly to Portugal for their pre-season training camp on Monday, and remains keen on joining Tottenham.

Morgan Gibbs-White needs to help Tottenham

We cannot see this situation being resolved by Monday, given the fact Marinakis is threatening legal action against Tottenham.

However, the saga could speed up if Gibbs-White begins to agitate for his desired move to Spurs, by either handing in a written transfer request, or refusing to travel to Portugal.

Such an act would leave Nottingham Forest in a very difficult position, unsettling Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad even more following the departure of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle.

Should such a bold move backfire, however, and Nottingham Forest successfully fend off Tottenham, Gibbs-White would have done himself no favours ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as he must at least play regularly next season to have any chance of being included by Thomas Tuchel.

£47m midfielder is now keen on returning to London after holding fresh talks with Tottenham this week - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have held a new round of talks with Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha in the last week.

The Portuguese international remains an active option for Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking to sign a new holding midfielder this summer.

TBR Football revealed that Douglas Luiz is keen on a move to Tottenham, and Fabio Paratici is aware that he also wants to be back playing Premier League football.

But Palhinha is another option they are currently working on and the 30-year-old has just dropped a hint that he could be keen on the move.

Sources: Tottenham held talks with Joao Palhinha this week

Joao Palhinha also has interest from Inter Milan, but he has indicated that a move back to London would appeal to him, sources have told Graeme Bailey, chief correspondent at TBR Football.

Recently, Tottenham held fresh talks over signing the player this week, and he now appears to be a strong option for Thomas Frank’s team.

Tottenham are ready to sell Yves Bissouma and are looking for potential players who could replace the Malian international.

Bissouma has made it clear to Spurs that whilst he knows he has been told to leave, which he is starting to accept, he will only take the right offer.

Last summer, Palhinha joined Bayern for £47m, however, the move hasn’t quite worked out for him as he struggled to break into the team.

He made just 17 Bundesliga appearances last term for the Bavarians, and it’s quite clear that Vincent Kompany doesn’t fancy him.

Palhinha has also lost his spot in the Portuguese national team under Roberto Martinez, and he will be keen to make sure he is playing regularly next season.

The experienced Premier League star was superb during his final season at Fulham and that’s why Bayern were so keen to sign him. He is now eager to return to the English top-flight following discussions with Spurs.

Sources: Arsenal downplaying interest in Joao Palhinha

Reports from Germany have been linking Palhinha with a move to Arsenal, however, TBR Football can confirm that the Gunners are playing down their interest.

Arsenal just signed Christian Norgaard from Brentford for a fee of around £15m, and the North London club now have their midfield reinforcement.

Sources at Arsenal insist that Palhinha was an option for them this summer, but he was just one of those being considered before their move to sign Norgaard.

What Thomas Frank privately thinks Yoane Wissa will do now if both Tottenham and Newcastle bid for him - TBR Football
Description

TBR Football understands that Thomas Frank is confident that Yoane Wissa will choose Tottenham Hotspur over Newcastle United this summer.

The Magpies are having a difficult window. After missing out on Joao Pedro to Chelsea, their pursuit of Hugo Ekitike has come to an end as well despite lodging a bid to sign him.

Eddie Howe does have other names on his list of targets. As TBR previously revealed, Wissa is an option for Newcastle, but Tottenham want him too.

Thomas Frank is confident Yoane Wissa will choose Tottenham over Newcastle United

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is confident of signing Yoane Wissa from Brentford.

The 28-year-old has been brilliant for the Bees over the last few seasons, and he is of interest to several clubs in the Premier League.

TBR confirmed that Nottingham Forest are still chasing Wissa, but the Reds are facing serious competition from Newcastle and Tottenham.

After cooling their interest in Ekitike, Howe is keen to land Wissa, but Frank thinks he can lure his former star to Tottenham instead.

Bailey told TBR: “Yoane Wissa’s camp are speaking to four or five different clubs at the moment, Tottenham and Newcastle are two of them, and both would love to sign him.

“Thomas Frank, who worked with Wissa at Brentford, is confident that he would choose Spurs if it came down to it.”

Brentford’s stance on selling Yoane Wissa to Tottenham or Newcastle

Brentford are having a difficult summer.

The Bees lost Frank to Tottenham earlier in this window, while Arsenal signed their captain, Christian Norgaard, to replace Jorginho.

Talks remain ongoing for Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United as well, so the last thing they want to do is lose Wissa to one of the interested clubs.

However, with just one year left on his contract, Keith Andrews’ side could be forced to sell, but they have slapped a £50 million price tag on their Congolese forward, TBR understands.

Tottenham fans adamant Cristian Romero has just dropped a key hint over his future after Hotspur Way return - TBR Football
Description

Cristian Romero’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has been up for debate following the departure of Ange Postecoglou.

Romero has been linked to Atletico Madrid this summer, which has left supporters feeling concerned that they could lose their best player.

Thomas Frank will be eager to keep him, given his importance to Tottenham Hotspur and his role as vice-captain.

The 27-year-old’s latest social media post has now suggested that his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer could well have been decided.

Tottenham fans think Cristian Romero is staying at Tottenham

Cristian Romero has just posted his return to Hotspur Way on his Instagram account, and the defender looks buzzing to be back at Tottenham.

The 27-year-old is certainly not showing any signs of being upset about Tottenham’s strong stance over keeping him amid interest from Spain.

The club’s supporters are now adamant that the World Cup winner will be staying at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for at least another season.

There has been much speculation over his future this summer, but it seems as though clarity is starting to emerge, suggesting that he will stay.

TBR Football understands that Atletico Madrid have backed away from Romero, having made an unsuccessful play to prise him away from Spurs.

Tottenham told Atletico that Romero would cost £70m, and it appears that Diego Simeone’s side have little interest in paying such an amount.

Spurs’ vice-captain is now back in training and looks delighted to have made his return to N17, which has sent fans into a frenzy on X.

One fan said: “For me, it’s something so important that he’s this happy, he just had to win something, the crazy guy.”

Another claimed: “But I thought he would leave and the club would crumble when Ange left? Some of our fans are childish.”

“He knows we’re going huge this summer,” claimed another supporter.

There was further praise for the club’s vice captain: “I think more people would be willing to acknowledge him as our best player if they weren’t so worried he wasn’t gonna be around much longer. He completely changes how effective our team is.”

Frank wants to build around Romero, so managing to keep hold of him would be an early welcome boost in North London.

Having a partnership of him and Micky van de Ven in the Dane’s more regimented system should make Spurs a tough nut to crack.

Thomas Frank needs to make Cristian Romero captain

Romero’s performance in the Europa League final was quite exceptional as the defender helped Spurs to keep a clean sheet and win their first title in 17 years.

The Argentine international was made captain with Son Heung-min starting on the bench and he took the role on with immense responsibility.

He led by example at the San Mames Stadium with a superb display, which saw him win the UEFA Player of the Match award and rightfully so.

Romero stood up when it mattered most for Tottenham and that’s why he is now one of the most decorated defenders in Europe.

Son is unlikely to leave Tottenham soon, but the Lilywhites need to consider making Romero the captain when the 33-year-old does eventually depart.

Nottingham Forest have just made a very smart move in bid to stop Morgan Gibbs-White joining Tottenham - TBR Football
Description

The battle between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur for Morgan Gibbs-White continues, with both clubs attempting to make their case.

Nottingham Forest were left furious after Tottenham triggered Gibbs-White’s clause one week ago, claiming that they should not have known about the £60 million clause.

Tottenham remain intent on signing Gibbs-White, but the deal has been delayed as Forest attempt to fight their case to keep him.

The Midlands club have just made a smart move, which places the ball firmly in the player’s court and could bring an eventual resolution to this saga.

Nottingham Forest offer Morgan Gibbs-White a new contract

Nottingham Forest have just offered Morgan Gibbs-White a new contract in a bid to remove his £60m release clause, according to Ben Jacobs.

Forest have been offering Gibbs-White a new contract for almost a year now, and the player, up until now, hasn’t been interested in renewing.

But as TBR Football has reported, Gibbs-White is keen to join Tottenham, meaning Forest could have to find a solution with the North London club.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “My understanding is to counter Tottenham’s desire to get that deal done, Forest are to make a new contract offer to Morgan Gibbs-White.

“Now, over the last 12 months, they’ve tried to get Gibbs-White to extend and in doing so and not only offer him improved terms, but also remove the release clause, £60 million, which is in his current deal.

“Forest felt this was a secret and could only be learnt of by coming to them. Tottenham obviously got wind of it and therefore indicated that they were going to trigger it.

Nottingham Forest’s smart play in Morgan Gibbs-White saga

This is a smart play from Forest as the ball is now firmly in the player’s court, and his intention can be made clear to the club and the fans.

Forest will want to at least show that they put up a strong fight to at least keep their captain, and offering him a new deal does exactly that.

With Europa League football now on offer and a lucrative deal on the table, this could be enough to keep him for at least another season.

The 25-year-old must now weigh up the pros and cons of staying at City Ground this summer, but at this stage, his heart is set on Spurs.

Evangelos Marinakis’ club may well end up losing Gibbs-White, but they can at least show they’ve made a strong bid to keep him.
