Player murals outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium become first in UK to feature audio description content for visually impaired fans - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Audio description (AD) services have been made available for the murals of Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Ledley King outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

They are the first football murals in the UK to adopt such a feature, with a QR code directing listeners to AD content written and narrated by Daniel Wynne, the Club’s own AD matchday commentator

The AD services were made by possible by the David Katz Foundation, a charity committed to supporting the visually impaired

Tomorrow’s match against Crystal Palace will be the first time match-going fans are able to enjoy the new feature, with Level Playing Field’s ‘Unite for Access’ campaign also being celebrated at the game

The three iconic player murals outside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have become the first of their kind in the UK to include audio description (AD) services for visually impaired fans.

The Heung-Min Son, Harry Kane and Ledley King murals now feature QR codes linking to audio descriptions of the designs. The initiative has been led by the David Katz Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting people with visual impairments, in partnership with MurWalls, the artists behind the murals.

The audio descriptions are voiced by Daniel Wynne, the Club’s own AD commentator on matchdays, and Chairman of the David Katz Foundation.

Match-going fans attending tomorrow’s game against Crystal Palace will be the first to enjoy the feature, with the fixture being dedicated to Level Playing Field’s ‘Unite for Access’ campaign. The campaign highlights the need to inspire and celebrate inclusion for supporters with access requirements at sports venues across the country.

Fans arriving early to the match tomorrow will be able to hear from representatives of MurWalls, as well as from SpursAbility, Spurs’ Disabled Supporters Association, about the importance of the initiative during a pitch side interview.

The murals were officially unveiled today by Club Ambassador Ledley King, who put the finishing touches on his own mural at Tottenham Community Sports Centre.

Ledley said: “Inclusivity is so important and our Club does a great job in providing an accessible experience for all supporters. It is something we have always taken seriously, and it has been great to come to my mural today and see first-hand how we are providing that around the stadium."

Marc Silver, CEO & Founder of MurWalls, said: “Being part of the David Katz Foundation (DKF) from its inception has been a genuine privilege. This project is about more than murals — it’s about access, empowerment and inclusion. Through MurWalls, we were honoured to celebrate Harry, Sonny and Ledley for Tottenham Hotspur and its incredible supporters. As co-founder and trustee of DKF, I’m even prouder that we’ve helped bring the audio description to life, ensuring visually impaired fans can experience the artwork just as powerfully as everyone else.”

Matt Collings-Winter, Co-Chair of SpursAbility, Tottenham Hotspur’s Disabled Supporters Association, said: “We are thrilled that the club have elevated these three iconic murals to the next level while ensuring inclusivity not only for our members but for the wider community. We continue to be proud of the work Spurs do to make this football club a place for all.”

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium sets the benchmark for accessibility, delivering an inclusive matchday experience for supporters with disabilities.

The Stadium offers dedicated accessible entrances for both home & away fans, alongside 250 wheelchair accessible bays, 500 dedicated easily accessible seats, 66 accessible toilets and three fully equipped Changing Places facilities.

In addition to the AD commentary services, British Sign Language (BSL) services are available on matchdays and integrated into Stadium tour content, while induction loops are available at kiosks to reduce ambient noise for those who use hearing aids.

The Stadium also includes a Sensory Suite, located in the North Stand, which offers a comfortable and calming environment for supporters with sensory impairment conditions.

Dominic Solanke's scorpion kick stunner wins Goal of the Month award - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Making just his second league start of the season, Dom was back with a bang as he scored two second-half goals, with the second being that incredible scorpion kick.

As we sensed an opportunity, Conor Gallagher was quickest to react and claim the ball back on the right-hand side before springing forward and to the byline. There, he clipped the ball back into the back where our number 19 was bursting into the box.

The ball was slightly behind the striker, but he managed to hook his right leg back and flick the ball over his head and that of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the back of the net.

And in a poll on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official App, he took the majority of the votes, edging out Rio Kyerematen and his thumping effort against Norwich City Under-21s.

Another Bellwood stunner earns Women’s Under-19s victory over Addicks - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Grace Bellwood scored another stunning goal as our Women’s Under-19s earned a late 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the Professional Game Academy League on Wednesday afternoon.

Having curled home a beauty with her right foot in our Capital Cup win at Dulwich Hamlet at the weekend, Bellwood produced another stunner as we met the Addicks, smashing the ball home off the underside of the crossbar 10 minutes to see us to victory over the south London side.

We needed a moment of quality to edge the clash as it looked destined to finish level after Jhanaie Pierre’s early opener – her third goal in two league games - was cancelled out by Mia Harvey in the first period. That was until Bellwood’s second goal in as many games saw us return to winning ways in the league.

Alongside the positive result, midfielder Ruby Mace also made her return to action for the first time since September, as she started and completed the full 90 minutes, while defender Evie Northwood was named in a matchday squad for a competitive game for the first time since October, 2024.

60 seconds on Palace | Matt Woosnam, The Athetic - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Continuing our '60 seconds on...' preview feature, where we take a closer look at our next opponents with the people who watch them week in, week out.

Next up, it's Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday evening (8pm UK) and to preview the match, we've called on the services of Matt Woosnam - @MattWoosie - Palace writer for The Athletic, previously a freelance for the South London Press and MailOnline.

It was one defeat in six before United – Palace looked in good shape there at 1-0 up, before United's penalty and the red card – is it safe to say things have settled down somewhat after that run of eight without a win in the PL?

Matt: “Palace are definitely playing better than they were during that run of eight games without a win in the Premier League, which extended to 12 games in all competitions. They have more attacking threat than in those games, I think. Ismaila Sarr has looked good again, having come back from the Africa Cup for Nations with Senegal. They've had the injured players back in Daniel Munoz and Daichi Kamada, and then also they've added on deadline day in the winter transfer window Jorgen Strand Larsen and Evann Guessand. So that's definitely helped them. I think they've been playing better. Defensively, they've also looked much more solid. They kept clean sheets against Brighton, against Wolves, although there was obviously the penalty, but that was well saved. They looked good against Manchester United in that opening half an hour. If it wasn't for the penalty decision, then they may well have got something out of that game. Things are definitely getting back to some semblance of structure and stability. I think the noise around the club with things that had happened with Oliver Glasner and the things that he said didn't help either. I think that has also calmed down a little bit with results going their way. It's definitely a lot better than it was.”

You're there every week, Matt - where do you see Palace at the moment?

Matt: “At the moment, Palace are in a better place than they were. They're in a bit of a strange situation where they are playing for the UEFA Conference League as much as anything, really. It's very unlikely that they're going to get relegated. I don't think many people are thinking about that at the moment. It is still possible that they could get their record points total, albeit very unlikely now, and that was set last year, but it could well be their second highest. It will certainly be a chance to go up there, and that's what Glasner will be looking to do. They haven't been looking like the most threatening team in attack, even though they have improved there. The way they're playing is a bit more subdued and, as I say, focused a bit more on being stable, being structured and not conceding too many goals. That's what Glasner said their foundation was and that's how they'll want to continue playing, is in that sort of set of trying to not concede goals."

Can I ask about two players? How much of a miss is Marc Guehi? How good is it to have Daniel Munoz back?

Matt: “Clearly, losing Marc Guehi was big. He's such an incredible player, so composed, a great behind the scenes as a leader as well. It can't really be overstated how much that can help a team. Palace have got two young, inexperienced centre-backs in Chadi Riad and Jaydee Canvot - a 19-year-old in Canvot, 22 in Riad, both of whom have not had that many games outside of lower league football in Spain and France, but they've done okay. They've stepped up. There's inconsistency there, as you would expect, especially with Riad having spent most of the last 18 months out injured. Palace do miss Guehi bursting forward, carrying the ball and breaking the lines with his passing. That's something that they don't really have from Riad and Canvot. The leadership element as well, simply from the experience that he had and the way that he was and the length of time that he'd been there and the respect that he carried, you can't replicate that easily. So, yeah, clearly, without him, it's not been easy. Maxence Lacroix and Chris Richards have done well, but the inconsistency in team selection in defence due to injury and now suspension for Lacroix (sent off at Old Trafford on Sunday) is something that Glasner spoke about and that has hindered them a bit as well. Daniel Munoz being back has been fantastic for Palace, but he's still feeling, I think, the effects of having been out with that knee injury. I don’t think he’s back to his best yet, and he's just absolutely crucial to the way they play and their way of playing in transition. They really need him to be at his best. He's not quite there yet, but they didn't really have a viable alternative to him who could have any kind of similar impact, especially in attack. So, having him back has been really important.”

Are you seeing anything different tactically from Glasner? How do you think Palace will approach Thursday night's game?

Matt: “Glasner is just going back to basics a little bit more than he had done before, trying to be defensively sound more than anything else, build on that and then hopefully play a bit more in transition as a result of that. They haven't been as rapid, I suppose, in breaking. They've played quite a few teams with low blocks or quite deep defensive lines, he's had to adapt to that, and that's the way that he's done it. They haven't been as convincing as perhaps everyone would have liked them to be, but they've got the results they needed, and they haven't been completely swept away by teams. That's definitely a positive. Glasner is quite tactically inflexible. He doesn't tend to change much. So, there hasn't been a huge amount of difference there. I expect he'll continue in the same way for this game as well. I don't think he'll change much around. It will be interesting to see who he plays in the attacking number 10 roles. He's switched between Yeremy Pino, Brennan Johnson and Evann Guessand to partner Ismaila Sarr, who's a shoo-in to start when fit and available. Guessand carries the ball more, whereas Johnson, as Spurs know, will try and get in behind and use his pace in a similar way, I suppose, to Sarr, but slightly different. Pino's more technical, more sort of a crosser, passer, whereas Guessand's a ball carrier, which Palace have been missing. So, that's what he'll decide on - which one of those to use.”

Finally, how do you see it playing out on Thursday night?

Matt: “It's a tough one to call. Obviously, Spurs are not in good form, but Palace haven't been as convincing as they would like. At the same time, they're doing okay and they've reset a bit. Palace probably have enough to win this game, but I can definitely see it being a draw. I think it'll be very difficult for Spurs, given their form, but we've seen what happened with Wolves (Palace scored late to win 1-0), Burnley beat Palace (3-2, 11 February) as well. So, it's hard to be sure, but I think Palace will be looking at this as one that they'll want to expect to at least get a point from and probably take all three.”

Semi-final heartache for Under-18s

Semi-final heartache for Under-18s - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

A towering header from a corner from David Angibeaud saw Crystal Palace escape with a 1-0 win in Wednesday’s Under-18 Premier League Cup semi-final.

After we controlled much of the first half at Hotspur Way, the Eagles squandered a couple of chances at the start of the second period before getting their noses in front in the 81st minute, Angibeaud nodding Jasper Judd’s set-piece inside the far post.

We’d earlier gone close to a breakthrough when George Feeney’s effort from outside the box hit the post, while late attempts to force an equaliser from Malachi Hardy, Ronny Moncur and Harry Byrne fell by the wayside as we suffered heartache in our bid to reach the final.

Neither team meaningfully tested the opposing goalkeeper in the first 45 minutes, although we had the better of the half overall. Reiss Elliott-Parris almost broke the deadlock inside five minutes when he latched onto Tye Hall’s quickly-taken free-kick from deep in our half and guided the ball beyond Lucca Benetton, only for defender Dylan Monk to come across and clear with the goal gaping, while Tynan Thompson later cut in from the left and saw a deflected right-foot shot sail wide of the far post.

Palace squandered a couple of opportunities shortly after half-time with Ben Casey’s header well saved by Dylan Thompson, with both Angibeaud and substitute Raihaan Anderson unable to capitalise at the near post from Joel Drakes-Thomas’ right-sided cut-back shortly afterwards.

Tye Hall teed up Feeney to tease an effort against the post from 20 yards following a short corner on 71 minutes, while Thompson was at his best to deny Casey again moments afterwards as the Palace number nine surged into space in the inside right channel, the keeper making himself big to divert the forward’s shot just wide.

Ultimately, though, the game was decided by fine margins. Palace forged ahead on 81 minutes when Angibeaud nodded in Judd’s corner, while we were a whisker away from levelling the tie up in the first of six added minutes when Hardy controlled Moncur’s low ball into the box from the left but agonisingly fired wide on his left foot. Moncur’s deflected shot was claimed by Benetton as we kept pushing while our last chance came and went in the final seconds when Byrne’s low free-kick was saved, with Moncur unable to steer the rebound on target under heavy pressure from Anderson.

Team news | Djed Spence to miss Palace clash - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Igor Tudor has confirmed that Djed Spence will remain sidelined for Thursday night's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

The defender missed Sunday's loss at Fulham due to 'soreness' and will be out again for Palace's visit to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. "Djed is out, he's not ready for the game," said Igor during his pre-match press conference at Hotspur Way on Wednesday.

Asked later if there was a timeframe for Djed's return, Igor said he was hopeful he would be back for the first leg of our UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie at Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Igor said there was 'no other news' on our injured players.

James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall, Mo Kudus, Deki Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies remain out with Cuti Romero serving the last of his four-game suspension.
