Description

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Roberto De Zerbi as our new Men’s Head Coach on a long-term contract, subject to work permit.

Roberto said: “I am delighted to be joining this fantastic football club, which is one of the biggest and most prestigious in the world.

“In all my discussions with the Club’s leadership, their ambition for the future has been clear – to build a team capable of reaching great achievements, and to do that playing a style of football that excites and inspires our supporters. I am here because I believe in that ambition and have signed a long-term contract to give everything to deliver it.

“Our short-term priority is to climb the Premier League table, which will be the complete focus until the final whistle of the last game of the season. I’m looking forward to getting out on the training pitch and working with these players to achieve that.”

Sporting Director, Johan Lange, said: “Roberto was our number one target for the summer and we are very pleased to be able to bring him in now.

“He is one of the most creative and forward-thinking coaches in world football, and brings with him a wealth of experience at the highest level, including in the Premier League.”

Following a playing career of almost 300 appearances across 15 years, Brescia-born Roberto began coaching in his native Italy and in June, 2018, joined Serie A side Sassuolo, earning recognition for his exciting, attack-minded and possession-based approach.

He took charge of Shakhtar Donetsk in May, 2021, leading them to the UEFA Champions League group stage and the Ukrainian Super Cup – his first piece of silverware as a coach.

Heading to East Sussex to join Brighton & Hove Albion in September, 2022, Roberto helped secure the Seagulls’ highest ever Premier League finish in his debut season, earning European qualification for the first time in the club’s history.

In his most recent role at Marseille, the Ligue 1 side finished as runners-up in 2024/25, earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

Grace Breen on positive senior experience and preparing for London Bees test - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Women’s Academy player Grace Breen says that her dual registration with QPR has been a positive experience so far – and she wants to use her knowledge gained in the senior game to help our Under-19s in their Capital Cup tie against London Bees.

Having spent the first half of the campaign predominately with our young side, captaining in spells in the Professional Game Academy League, the defender ventured into her first senior spell with the Hoops in the FA Women’s National League side Division One South East.

Grace has made seven appearances for the west London side since January, 2026, helping them to clean sheets in their last two games, and she feels she has hugely benefitted from the spell so far.

“I've really enjoyed it,” she told us, reflecting on her dual registration. “I've had some good opportunities since I've been there, playing at the likes of Craven Cottage against Fulham. We’ve played against some of the teams at the top of the table, which have been tough game, but I really enjoyed my time and the girls, plus the staff, have been really lovely.

“The standards and the things they want to achieve are pretty similar to here at Spurs as part of the Academy,” Grace added, when asked what the differences have been between senior and PGA football. “They want to achieve big things, they want to get promoted, win games, have good performances, but the main differences I'd say is probably the intensity is higher, the stakes are slightly higher, obviously, as we want to get as many points as possible, so it's less about development and more about the performance and success.

“I've said this to all the staff here when I come back, my mentality has gotten so much better since being a part of a senior Women's team. I've come back here and my leadership has become so much better. I think I bought that winning mentality into this into our Academy set-up, so it's been good.”

Beating the Hamlets 2-1 at Champion Hill, Grace spoke of her pride for her fellow team-mates to put in that standard of performance and wants to replicate that later this week when we come up against the Bees.

“We were such a young, young team, so to come out with that performance, firstly, followed by that result was outstanding,” she told us.

“I can't fault any of the girls for anything. We were unreal from minute one until the very end. We kept the ball so well and pushed them all the way through the game, we matched them in terms of aggression, and we dominated, I think on and off the ball, we were so good and I think our full-time celebration showed that. To come here with a completely different and younger team is such a massive feeling and it shows how far we've come as an Academy.

“Now, we've had that experience, hopefully we could take that into our stride, take it to the next game. I don't know about the difference in the two teams between Dulwich and London Bees, but I think if we go out there with the same mentality, same performance and just work hard from minute one to the end, we'll get the performance and we'll get the result that we deserve, which is hopefully we'll win.”

Stride for Spurs marathon walk provides vital support for Tottenham Hotspur Foundation - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

More than 120 supporters of Tottenham Hotspur Foundation laced up their walking shoes to take on the first ever Stride for Spurs on Sunday.

Starting and finishing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, participants completed either a 26-mile marathon or 13-mile half marathon walk, providing vital support for the Foundation’s local community programmes.

The route took walkers from the stadium into the countryside, passing through Epping Forest before returning to N17. Club legend Michael Dawson was on hand to offer encouragement, photo opportunities and words of support.

He said: “We’ve had a great day for a fantastic cause. Honestly, the work the Foundation does for the local community is brilliant. Thank you to everyone for joining us – and a big shout-out to Freddie, Sami and Stefan from the Foundation’s cerebral palsy team, who I walked with at the start of the event.”

Every step taken during Stride for Spurs will help inspire, empower and transform lives. Last season alone, over 13,000 local residents benefited from more than 10,500 hours of Foundation support.

One of the programmes making a difference is Shape Up with Spurs. Participant Therisa Akoth was among those taking part in the walk.

She said: “The Foundation’s work is amazing. Shape Up with Spurs has been really good for my mental health. It’s like a little family. I really look forward to the sessions and I miss them whenever I can’t attend.

“I’ve lived in Tottenham most of my life and I’m so glad today’s event will support programmes like Shape Up with Spurs. We don’t pay a penny for the support we receive, so today was our chance to give back. It makes me proud to live in Tottenham.”

Lifelong Spurs fan Luke Barratt took on the half marathon distance and was first back to the stadium. He had driven down from Huddersfield for the event, starting his day at 3am.

He explained: “Having the opportunity to come into the stadium, meet an icon like Michael Dawson and explore the local community has been brilliant.

“But the main motivation was to support such a great cause. It’s fantastic to help provide opportunities for people who might not otherwise have access to them through the Foundation.”

Elizabeth Mings, Foundation fundraising manager, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who took part in and supported Stride for Spurs. The energy, commitment and sense of community on display perfectly reflected what the Foundation stands for.

“The support will help us continue opening doors to education, creating pathways into employment, driving healthier and happier lifestyles, and building safer, stronger communities.”

Randal Kolo Muani features in France win - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Randal Kolo Muani earned his first cap for France in almost 10 months as his nation enjoyed a 3-1 win over Colombia on Sunday night.

Having been an unused substitute in France's 2-1 victory over Brazil on Thursday, the forward was called off the bench on 63 minutes in Maryland, USA, with his side 3-0 up against a Davinson Sanchez-sporting Colombia.

Two Desire Doue strikes either side of a Marcus Thuram header put France in a commanding position before Randal entered the game to pick up his first France cap as a Spurs player and his first since last summer's Nations League Finals.

It was our number 39's 32nd international cap of his career to date with him becoming the first Spurs player to feature for Les Bleus since Hugo Lloris made his final appearance for his country in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Final.

Pape Matar Sarr featured as a second-half substitute for Senegal in their 2-0 friendly win against Peru on the outskirts of Paris on Saturday.

The midfielder stepped off the bench with 10 minutes remaining and with his side already two goals to the good, helping them see out the final stages at Stade de France.

Earlier in the day, a number of our young players were on duty for their nations.

Malachi Hardy completed 90 minutes for England Under-18s as they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Spain in Croatia, while both Oscar Sandiford and Ollie Boast saw game time as England Under-17s lost a European qualifier to Israel by the same scoreline at St George’s Park. Right-back Oscar completed the full game, with striker Ollie coming off the bench in the 63rd minute.

George Feeney, meanwhile, completed 90 minutes for Northern Ireland Under-19s as they battled out a goalless draw with hosts Romania in European Under-19 Championship qualifying action, while Armend Muslika captained Albania Under-17s in a 2-0 friendly win over Latvia.

Bethany England reaches WSL appearance landmark - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Bethany England reached the milestone of 200 Women’s Super League appearance in Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.

The forward came on as a second half substitute at the Emirates and, in doing so, achieved the personal landmark of 200 matches in England’s top flight – becoming just the seventh player to do so in the competition.

She marked the special occasion by netting a goal in the closing stages to make it 4-2 in the contest at the time, but it didn’t spark a late comeback as the Gunners went on to record a 5-2 victory.

When asked about reaching that landmark in the WSL, she told SPURSPLAY after the game: "Obviously really proud. There's only a few of us in that category and, like I say, I feel like I've been in this league a very long time.

"I'm very proud and privileged to have been in this league so long and having made such an impact in different clubs. Yes, hopefully many more to come and continue pushing, but I'm very proud of what I've been able to achieve so far in the league."

Joining us in January, 2023, our number nine made a big impact in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, scoring 12 goals in 13 WSL games to help us secure safety in the WSL.

One of the most experienced goalscorers, Bethany has made 64 appearances for us in the WSL with her other 136 games in the competition for spells at Chelsea, Liverpool and Doncaster Rovers Belles.

She has 86 goals in the league – the second highest in the league – with 32 of those coming in a Lilywhite shirt while she has registered 23 assists.

In total, she has made 83 appearances for us in all competitions.

Arsenal 5-2 Spurs, Women's Super League | Martin Ho's verdict

Arsenal 5-2 Spurs, Women's Super League | Martin Ho's verdict - Tottenham Hotspur
Description

Martin Ho said ‘it gave us a mountain to climb’ as he reflected on the first 10 minutes as we suffered our 5-2 defeat at Arsenal in the Women’s Super League on Saturday evening.

A quickfire double from Alessia Russo – her first coming on five minutes before adding to her tally two minutes later - gave the Gunners a healthy lead in the early stages. We managed to pull a goal back just before the midway point of the first half, Frida Maanum converting into her own net from a corner, but the home side responded shortly after as Russo completed a 22-minute hat-trick.

Similar to last weekend’s performance, we came out with a bit more fight in the second period despite the deficit in the scoreline, but the damage was done on 61 minutes when Caitlin Foord fired home a fourth for Arsenal.

With 12 minutes remaining on the clock, Bethany England stepped off the bench and pulled a goal back for us on her 200th WSL appearance but, as we chased for any potential way back into the contest, Arsenal punished us at the other end as Stina Blackstenius completed the scoring in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

“[In the] first half, we conceded two quick goals and that dented us,” Martin Ho told us, reflecting on the performance with SPURSPLAY. “By doing that, it makes it difficult for you to get back into the game and with small individual passes, we have to be better at that as players.

“For the Lize [Kop] one, I ask her to play a certain way and look for certain passes. When they happen, that's my accountability and my responsibility. I thought we then got back into the game, we got a goal, and then it goes into the second half where we conceded a really cheap goal again, which makes it 4-1. We push back, Bethany gets a goal, really good finish, that's 4-2.

“Then we were pushing the game, we make another individual error and we get punished. I feel like every time we make one at the moment, the ball's going in the net.”

When asked if the first 10 minutes of the game proved to be decisive in the final result, he answered: “Yes, when you give two goals away like we have in those moments, you're going to get punished for them. They have world-class players and then it gives you a bit of a mountain to climb at times.

“I thought we came back into at 2-1, the game was in the balance and the third goes and that kind of then turns it back in their favour. Small moments maybe change games and give you momentum. We just have to look at it, assess it, put it behind us and then focus on the Chelsea game going forward.”

“We can take lots from it in terms of with the ball and large parts of the press without the ball. Our performance, if we take out some of the individual parts, the game would change. We have to make sure we do that because we don't want to be a team and I don't want to be a coach who concedes five goals a game. We're not going to be doing that moving forward.”
