Oxford United have announced the signing of Jamie Donley from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international has joined the Oxfordshire club on loan until the end of the season.

Donley came through the academy at Tottenham, having joined them in 2013. He made his senior debut for the club in 2023 and went on to make a further three appearances.

He enjoyed a successful season-long loan at Leyton Orient in 2024–25, scoring eight goals in 52 appearances across all competitions.

He had been on loan at Stoke City during the first half of this season but was recalled due to a lack of playing time.

Speaking to the club website on the news, Donley stated: “My loan experiences have taught me a lot. I’ve had big highs and challenging moments, but those are what shape you as a player. I feel ready to come here, compete, and show what I can bring.

“First and foremost, I’m here to fight for the badge. When I get on the ball, I want to be positive, take responsibility, and create moments that help the team win.”

Head of Football Operations, Ed Waldron, added: “Jamie is an excellent signing for the club and someone we’ve been tracking for some time. He was one of the standout performers in League One last season, consistently demonstrating his quality as both a scorer and a creator.

“He has the attitude and personality we look for. For his age, he shows real maturity and presence, and has an outstanding work ethic.”

Donley is eligible to make his debut in the upcoming game against Sheffield United.

Tōko Koga has completed her move from Feyenoord to Tottenham Hotspur. The 19-year-old Japan international has signed a deal that runs until June 2029.

The centre-back began her career with JFA Academy Fukushima before moving to the Netherlands in 2024.

Koga made a total of 35 appearances for Feyenoord, scoring three goals.

Having represented Japan at youth level from Under-17 through to Under-23, Tōko made her senior international debut against the USA as a substitute in the SheBelieves Cup in April 2024.

She was named in Japan’s 2024 Olympic squad and started all four matches for her country in the tournament.

Earlier this year, she featured in all three SheBelieves Cup fixtures and scored the winning goal against the USWNT, helping Japan claim the trophy for the first time.

Tōko has won 19 caps for her country to date, scoring three goals.

Speaking with tottenhamhotspur.com about the move, she said: “I’m really happy to be here. The environment at Spurs is great, and I’m amazed at how big the facility is.”

“As for the reason I decided to join the club, I had wanted to play in England for a long time. It’s a top-class league, and I believe I can grow a lot by competing at that level every week.

“Transferring to the Dutch league helped me to adjust to the environment in Europe, and playing in a different environment from Japan helped me grow. I played with more physically capable players, and that helped me to develop as a defender.”
