Tottenham Hotspur could make a surprise move for a former Chelsea star and it would almost certainly infuriate the Stamford Bridge faithful.
It's not unusual for players to have played for both London rivals during their careers. Gus Poyet, William Gallas, Terry Venables and Scott Parker are four of 13 who have played their football for Spurs and the Blues.
The Lilywhites appear to be open to adding a new name to that list and leave both sets of supporters stunned. Another midfielder could be added to Roberto De Zerbi's squad despite the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.

Spurs are having a busy summer and building a squad that can challenge for Europe rather than face another relegation battle like last season. While the player's ability is important, so too is his mentality, and this might have been a key reason De Zerbi wanted Andy Robertson.
Another Premier League champion is reportedly on the Lilywhites' radar as Talha Arslan of X Sports reports that they are interested in former Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante. The Frenchman is currently at Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig, but speculation is growing over his future.
Kante has been rolling back the years at the age of 35 with inspired performances that earned him a place in France's World Cup squad. During his time in England, he was a revelation and arguably became one of the greatest defensive midfielders in top-flight history.
The French star won two Premier League titles, first with Leicester City and then with Chelsea. He also won the Champions League with the Blues and made 269 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge, posting 13 goals and 16 assists.
Why Tottenham Might Want Kante
Spurs' interest is intriguing given they have already strengthened their midfield with Tonali and Fernandes. The pair cost £100 million and £85 million respectively and are set to be starters in De Zerbi's team next season.
One midfielder whose future is in doubt is Rodrigo Bentancur amid reports suggesting the club are willing to entertain offers for the Uruguayan. If he were to make way, it could lead to Kante arriving to give De Zerbi more depth.
The Italian coach might want to add more experience to his squad after the troubles that occurred last season. Kante's best years are behind him but he could prove to be a useful utility man and a hugely popular personality in the dressing room.
