Ange Postecoglou has been linked with a number of jobs since he was sacked by Nottingham Forest in October.
It was the second time this year that the Aussie manager has been let go, with Tottenham sacking Postecoglou in June despite him winning the Europa League title a month earlier.
Fulham and Leeds have been linked with hiring Postecoglou recently, while a return to Celtic was also briefly touted for the 60-year-old before they hired Wilfried Nancy to replace Brendan Rodgers.
It’s been a crazy year for the former Tottenham manager.
Not only has he overseen a couple of unwanted records by becoming the shortest-reigning manager the Premier League has ever seen at Nottingham Forest and overseeing Spurs’ worst-ever Premier League season, but he also broke Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought in May by beating Manchester United to win the Europa League.

And now, it looks as though his 2025 is ending on a rather weird note.
Everyone seems to think Jeonbuk Motors have hired Ange Postecoglou
Last Monday, Gus Poyet announced that he was stepping down as manager of South Korean club Jeonbuk Motors.
The former Chelsea and Sunderland midfielder won both the 2025 K League 1 title and the Korea Cup, but opted to walk away from Jeonbuk despite their best efforts to keep him.
While Postecoglou has never previously managed in South Korea, the Greek-born boss was in charge of Japanese club Yokohama F Marinos for three years before he was hired by Celtic in 2021, so he’s not a stranger to that area of the world, and a left-field move has always been on the cards with him.
That led to images emerging on social media that showed Postecoglou being ‘announced’ as Jeonbuk’s new manager.
One image seemed to show an official announcement on Jeonbuk’s social media, while another showed the ex-Australia manager holding up the South Korean club’s shirt and wearing their scarf.
As of the time of writing, the below tweet has around 200,000 views and has over 60 comments, with a lot of them being Celtic fans wishing their former manager well in East Asia.
However, there is nothing about Postecoglou on Jeonbuk’s official website or their Instagram account, suggesting that these pictures are photoshopped or generated by AI.
What actually is next for Postecoglou?
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Postecoglou go for a job like the one at Jeonbuk Motors.
He’s been a success in that area of the world before and it would no doubt be a nice reset for him after what has been an extremely turbulent few months in the Premier League.
However, Postecoglou is a fiercely motivated person and it wouldn’t shock us if the Aussie is waiting for the perfect opportunity to bounce back in the Premier League to prove that Tottenham and Nottingham Forest were wrong to axe him when they did.
Fulham look like they could be a good fit for Postecoglou in the coming months if Marco Silva‘s situation there isn’t resolved.
His contract is up at the end of the season and he doesn’t look like he’ll be renewing it so there’s a potential opportunity in London for Spurs’ Europa League saviour there.
