Tottenham Hotspur have already set their plans in motion for next season, despite not knowing what the future holds and what division they'll be playing in.

The Lilywhites currently sit just one point above the relegation zone with seven games remaining, but have brought in Roberto De Zerbi on a five-year contract during the international break, replacing Igor Tudor, who was winless in the Premier League during his time at the club.

The club firmly believes that they will be in the Premier League next season, with De Zerbi also confident he can save them to earn a lucrative bonus, and that has seen transfer plans begin for the upcoming summer window too.

Tottenham Need a New Striker

Last summer the club needed a new striker for Thomas Frank, and they responded by bringing in Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

The France international arrived with a big reputation and a decent goalscoring record last season at Juventus, where he managed 10 goals in 22 games after joining in January, including eight in 16 games in Serie A.

But since arriving in north London, barely anything has gone right for Kolo Muani. He didn't make his debut in the Premier League until mid-October after picking up an injury in his first appearance in the Champions League, and a number of other injuries and stylistic issues have seen him manage just five goals for Spurs in 34 appearances.

His performances mean it's almost impossible that the club will splash the cash to sign him permanently in the summer, and the search for a new striker will need to start again.

Richarlison is the top scorer this season but looks more likely to move on than stay, while Dominic Solanke has struggled with injury problems this season and after joining for more than £60m two years ago, has failed to live up to that price tag.

Dusan Vlahovic is Perfect for De Zerbi

A perfect candidate for the role is needed, and with Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic potentially available for free this summer, he could be the answer.

The Serbian, described as 'world-class', is in talks over a renewal, but his huge wages have been a regular problem in negotiations, while AC Milan are also interested. But Spurs have a long-standing interest in the 26-year-old, and reports earlier this year suggested they were the frontrunners for his signature.

Standing at 6ft 3 and with a fantastic burst of pace, physically he is ideal for the Premier League. He's also got a top goal record, having scored 49 in 108 games for Fiorentina and 64 in 163 for Juventus, having hit 14+ goals in each of the last three seasons, although he currently only has six this season due to injuries.

De Zerbi likes a big striker who can link play and finish moves off, and on a free transfer, there won't be many better options around. He's a major upgrade on Kolo Muani and fits the De Zerbi system perfectly. This should be a no-brainer.
