Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira says Tottenham Hotspur's situation is 'sad' as their Premier League struggles continued on Sunday.
The former Arsenal hero was speaking in the hours after Igor Tudor's second game in charge of Spurs, which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
The Croat was tasked with keeping Tottenham out of the top-flight relegation zone after replacing Thomas Frank as caretaker manager earlier this month, but he has begun his reign in north London with straight defeats.
While a home clash against Premier League leaders Arsenal was never going to be easy, hopes were higher that Spurs could pick up points at Craven Cottage.
It was another disappointing performance and result though as they lost 2-1, with Tottenham fortunate that all of the sides around them - Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, West Ham United and Burnley - were also beaten.
With 10 Premier League matches of the campaign left to play, Spurs remain four points above the bottom three ahead of hosting Crystal Palace on Thursday.
Vieira: Tottenham 'One of the Greatest Clubs in London'
The Arsenal icon was part of Sky Sports' Premier League coverage on Sunday afternoon, and while you may have expected the former Gunners skipper to be secretly happy by Spurs' current demise, he instead praised them and issued an honest verdict on their current situation.
The Frenchman told Sky Sports host David Jones when asked about Tottenham's current situation:
"It is sad of course, we're talking about one of the greatest clubs in London and the Premier League.
"But in the last couple of years, it is a club that has spent a lot of money, with no structure, no direction but with quality players. That means if you don't have a proper structure or direction, you can spend as much money as you want, but it won't bring you success.
"Trying to understand where they want to go is difficult to explain."
Shocking Tottenham Stat Emerges After Fulham Loss
The latest loss at Fulham meant that Spurs have now gone 10 games without a Premier League win for the first time since 1994 when Ossie Ardiles was manager.
The north London club have now won just two of their previous 19 top flight fixtures, with their last victory coming at the end of 2025.
Worryingly for Spurs fans, there weren't really any signs of improvement at Craven Cottage despite Tudor having another full week to work with his players, and the hierarchy will now be fearing that they may have made the wrong appointment.
Final Premier League Table Predicted
Despite the latest setback, Opta's supercomputer still has Tottenham down to survive in the final Premier League table of 2025-26.
Spurs are predicted to finish in the same position they find themselves in right now, 16th.
Given what Tottenham fans are seeing right now from their team, they would probably take that, which shows where they are as a club right now.
