Caitlin Foord was left frustrated by our inability to find the back of the net against Tottenham Hotspur, despite dominating the ball at Brisbane Road.

It was one-way traffic for much of the afternoon in the Barclays Women’s Super League encounter, as we continued to press high and win possession in the final third.

“It’s frustrating,” Caitlin Foord told us after the match. “We came here to get the three points. Everyone worked to try to do that and we just weren't able to do it today.

“But credit the Spurs. They made it difficult. They got numbers back and we just couldn't find the end product today.

“Just one [goal] goes in and then there'll be a few more to follow. But we could have done with a little bit of luck, something to fall our way. But we weren't able to get it today. So all down to Wednesday now.”

Fellow Aussie Kyra Cooney-Cross was the one change to the starting line-up, and we asked Caitlin what she brings to the midfield.

“We know Kyra's qualities and the qualities across the whole squad, that anyone can step in and do their role and bring something different,” she said. “I mean, Kyra obviously is able to spray balls out wide and get out of tight spaces.

“Her qualities today were something that I guess Renée was looking for the team to get the job done today. But as I said, with the squad we have, anyone can play and bring the best that they can do.”

Caitlin spent the second half attacking a goal with a sea of red and white behind it, with our travelling supporters in full voice from start to finish.

“They were massive for us,” she said. “Going towards them, the momentum and the energy they brought for us was huge today. It’s just unfortunate that we couldn't give them something to cheer even louder about. But, as I said before, we'll bring that Wednesday.”
