Gary Neville on Palmer: "He's asking for trouble. That's not great from Cole Palmer. No idea why he's doing that."
Neville added: "I think that could be a red."
Expert football tipster Mark O'Haire has insisted Joao Pedro is the best Premier League Golden Boot pick if you're going against Erling Haaland. Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: “Erling Haaland at 3/10 is usually unstoppable in this market and is naturally priced very short for a long-term bet. The problem with backing him is the risk of injury or missing time through other circumstances. I’d normally prefer to take a chance on bigger prices in this market.
“Joao Pedro (7/1) and Alexander Isak (8/1) are two very good alternatives. I’d probably favour Joao Pedro, given that Isak has struggled to get consistent minutes since moving to Liverpool. Chelsea also have no European football, so João Pedro and Cole Palmer should be well-rested and ready to perform each weekend. If you back either of those players, they could offer the best-value alternatives to Haaland.
“In truth, though, it will be difficult to stop Haaland. The issue with Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer is that neither is an obvious standout candidate, and they could share the goals between them, which is a negative. The boring answer is Haaland, but if you’re looking to back an alternative, João Pedro is probably the one I’d choose.”
Xabi Alonso will lean on the experience of veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson for Saturday evening's fierce London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham.
The Blues saw eight players shown the red card in the 2025/26 Premier League season but since Alonso took the reins in the summer, his team have been able to keep 11 men on the pitch at all times.
The likes of Henderson, 36, Danny Welbeck, 35, and Emiliano Martinez, 34, were all signed in the summer transfer window as Alonso aimed to change the culture at Stamford Bridge.
