Tottenham Hotspur Women started their 2026-27 WSL season out hot, but came crashing back to earth last weekend with a 6-1 home loss to London City Lionesses, Michelle Kang’s latest football investment. The job doesn’t get any easier this weekend, as Spurs head to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea, a team they have never beaten in their history. Chelsea are once again in line to win the WSL and are currently second in the table, two points behind Manchester City. Spurs are improved, but this is another major mile marker to see just how much the gap has narrowed between Tottenham and the teams above them. Getting a result against Chelsea would be a huge statement, but Spurs will need to play exceedingly well on the road in a major football stadium and a likely cauldron of away fans in order to do so. Tottenham, under Martin Ho, has the talent to make waves in this league, but in order to do so they’ll need to start beating the big teams. This is a good opportunity to do so.
