Arsenal saw off rivals Tottenham 4-1 in the first North London Derby of the season, and it’s fair to say Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice loved it.
Before the international break, pundits sensed a Manchester City revival; however, on matchday 12, the Gunners ensured the headlines were all about them.
Arsenal went six points clear at the summit with a win over Tottenham, sending a message to the Premier League and their north London rivals.
Spurs were humiliated at the Emirates by Mikel Arteta’s side, and after the win, Rice and Saka rubbed salt in the wounds on social media.

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka taunt Tottenham after North London Derby win
Rice has full belief in Arteta’s project and showed his commitment to the cause with a top performance against Tottenham.
The midfielder’s work didn’t stop because the full-time whistle blew, as on social media, the Englishman was sure to remind Arsenal’s rivals of what they don’t have: Eberechi Eze.
Rice took advantage after Tottenham attempted to mock Arsenal with their Eze announcement, captioning their unveiling of Xavi Simons ‘let it all work out’.

On Instagram after the win, Rice posted a photo of himself and Eze with the cheeky caption, ‘it’s worked out…’
Mikel Merino commented, ‘It has!!’ but Saka took the taunt to another level with his post.
Saka posted a photo of himself laughing with Eze on the pitch, writing the caption, ‘I’ll let you all caption this…’, encouraging fans to celebrate the summer transfer hijack.
Fans were drawn to the two players’ social media activity after the match, as the celebrations of the derby win carried on beyond the full-time whistle.
Saka is living up to his nickname
Eze aside, few players on the pitch would’ve been as elated as Saka, who has captained Arsenal in the North London Derby, having been at the club since he was seven.
Being a loyal servant to the Gunners, it’s no surprise that Saka has been nicknamed Mr Arsenal, the same as Tony Adams.
The winger’s performance against Tottenham and his post-match social media activity proved why he was given the nickname by his teammate, Leandro Trossard.
It was a day to remember for Saka, who didn’t need to score or assist to have a heavy influence on the game.
