Tottenham are pushing for Eberechi Eze, with the latest developments hinting that the Crystal Palace winger could be on his way to N17 soon.

Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze has not cooled as the final weeks of the transfer window approach, with the club determined to land their top creative target.

Negotiations with Crystal Palace are understood to be progressing, and Spurs are only a few million pounds away from meeting the valuation set by the south London club.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner was asked about the future of Eze in his pre-match press conference ahead of their clash with Chelsea, but the Austrian tactician offered little on the subject.

He stressed that Eze had trained with the squad, yet avoided going into detail on whether the midfielder would remain at Selhurst Park beyond the window.

Tottenham closing in on Eberechi Eze transfer

Tom Barclay, in a report on X, has now revealed that Eberechi Eze is expected not to be involved when Crystal Palace take on Chelsea tomorrow.

The journalist explained that Eze himself expects not to play, with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur edging closer this week.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The Sun reporter further stated that, as far as he understands, no deal has been agreed yet, but Spurs are pushing for one, particularly as they need a new number ten following the injury to James Maddison.

He also noted that once Ethan Nwaneri signed his new deal, Arsenal cooled their interest, making a move to the Emirates appear less likely now.

Eze did play for Palace last week in their Community Shield clash with Liverpool, but the suggestion that he could be left out of the squad for Sunday’s Premier League fixture raises serious questions.

If there is no injury concern, then his absence would only add to the belief that a transfer is moving towards completion.

Thomas Frank’s search for a Spurs number ten continues

Tottenham have been in search of added creativity throughout the summer, and landing Eberechi Eze would represent a major coup for Thomas Frank as he continues to reshape the squad in his first transfer window in charge.

Patience will be required from Tottenham to finally secure the signing of their long-term target, yet with Eze believed to be open to making the move to north London, convincing the player personally should not prove difficult.

If the Palace midfielder does complete a transfer to Spurs this summer, it would draw a line under a saga that has dragged on across multiple windows, with Tottenham’s interest stretching back years.
