Tottenham Hotspur fans may not have to wait much longer to welcome Eberechi Eze to North London, according to one journalist.

Eberechi Eze’s proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur is the hottest transfer story in town. Yesterday, Fabio Paratici was spotted at Crystal Palace’s Premier League clash against Chelsea, where Eze had a goal chalked off by the referee.

Following the final whistle of the match, Eze shared an emotional moment with the Crystal Palace supporters, taking time to clap and pray in front of them. While unconfirmed, some have seen this as his goodbye to the club where he has spent the past five years of his career.

The likelihood of his departure looks to have continued, as Crystal Palace have already placed an offer for Christos Tzolis, who would be signed as Eze’s replacement. However, Palace manager Oliver Glasner has said he expects Eze to play on Thursday in their Conference League qualifier.

Eberechi Eze’s Tottenham move could be imminent

Despite Glasner’s comments, journalist Sacha Tavolieri has claimed Tottenham and Crystal Palace are close to agreeing on a deal for the transfer of Eze. He will cost Spurs £60m, making him their most expensive signing so far this summer.

Eze’s move to Tottenham has been described as ‘imminent’ and that he has never been closer to joining Spurs. Apparently, the England international initially threatened to refuse to play against Chelsea, but this was resolved after a meeting on Sunday morning with his manager.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Palace chairman Steve Parish has informed Eze that he will not delay his move to Tottenham if the club’s terms are met, with advanced negotiations currently taking place.

The attacking midfielder has already agreed terms with Spurs and will sign a deal keeping him at the club until 2030, provided the move goes through.

The same report claims that Palace are in advanced talks with Leicester City over signing Bilal El Khannouss as Eze’s replacement.

Which other players are Spurs interested in signing?

Tottenham could still break their record for most money spent in a single transfer window. As well as Eze, Tottenham are in a strong position to sign Savinho from Manchester City. The winger would likely cost more than Eze, as Spurs have already had a £60m offer rejected.

Tottenham could look to strengthen in defence as well, with a move for Piero Hincapie remaining a possibility. The centre-back has a £51m release clause, but he has no desire to leave Bayer Leverkusen.
