Tottenham Hotspur appreciate Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, but it's too early for any negotiations, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter.
Tottenham are preparing for life under a new manager after Ange Postecoglou was relieved of his duties, despite winning the Europa League in his final game in charge. Spurs have now reached an agreement for Brentford boss Thomas Frank to join the club, and it will be interesting to see which direction they now head in in terms of recruitment.
Daniel Levy will be hoping to confirm the appointment of a new manager as soon as possible, as it could be difficult to attract players without knowing who's going to be in charge. Whether Frank opts to bring some of his former Brentford stars with him remains to be seen, but there's certainly plenty of talent there that he can look to poach.
Fabrizio Romano: Semenyo Appreciated by Tottenham
No negotiations as of yet
Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has confirmed that Tottenham appreciate Bournemouth forward Semenyo. It's still too early for any sort of negotiation, while the Cherries will also be looking to keep him at the club during the summer transfer window...
"Semenyo is appreciated, yes, but at the moment it's still early for a negotiation... and Bournemouth will try to keep him."
Reports have suggested that a move for Semenyo could cost in the region of £70m, and it's no surprise with Bournemouth already potentially losing some key players this summer. Dean Huijsen has completed a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid, while Milos Kerkez appears to be closing in on joining Liverpool.
Semenyo would undoubtedly be a smart addition for Spurs, but £70m is a significant outlay, and the north London club will have to weigh up whether it's worth it. The Bournemouth man has been performing at a high level for the Cherries, and he has plenty of Premier League experience under his belt.
