Roberto De Zerbi wants to bolster the 'attacking positions' in the Tottenham Hotspur squad before the transfer window slams shut at the start of September.

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed an excellent start to the transfer window, but Roberto De Zerbi knows that there's still plenty of work to be done. This summer, Johan Lange has so far forked out almost £250m on six players, but none of whom have been forwards.

With the Lilywhites yet to sign a striker or a winger, De Zerbi wants to start bolstering his frontline. Speaking to reporters following a 2-0 friendly win over Auckland on Sunday, the Italian outlined his plan to strengthen the 'attacking positions'.

"It is not finished yet, our transfer market," said De Zerbi. "I think we can be happier at the end of this transfer market, because I spoke a lot to the owner, the board, and they want to build a very strong team for this season, but to make the base for the future to become great again."

The Tottenham boss continued: "The target now is to complete the attacking positions. We want the first target, the first level, because anyway we are already important players, but I think to start the new project we need another couple of important players, for sure."

De Zerbi added: "It's not finished yet, our transfer market window. We have to finish, we have to bring another couple of, maybe more, maybe not less, but a couple of players."

So, with that being said, footbal.london has looked at four players who Tottenham could sign this week.

Savinho

Savinho has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham for a while now. Last month, football.london reported that De Zerbi reached out to Mathys Tel to tell him he will be counting on him ahead of the new season.

It's understood that, while Spurs have been trying to wrap up a deal for the Manchester City winger, the Italian has no intention of letting his player leave this summer. As it stands, it remains unclear whether the Lilywhites will secure Savinho's signature, with De Zerbi a big fan of Tel.

Eli Junior Kroupi

Eli Junior Kroupi has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham as De Zerbi pushes to further bolster his attacking options. football.london understands that many of the Premier League's big clubs are interested in signing the Bournemouth striker, but the Cherries are insistent that he's 'not for sale'.

Andreas Schjelderup

If De Zerbi wants to sign a left-winger, Andreas Schjelderup could be a far cheaper alternative to Savinho. According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Tottenham are interested in signing the 22-year-old, who's 'seriously considering' leaving Benfica this summer.

The report claims that Marco Silva's side would be unwilling to accept anything less than €40m (£34.2m) for Schjelderup. It's also said that, should the Norwegian leave the Eagles, his preferred destination would be the Premier League.

Said El Mala

Said El Mala could be another option for De Zerbi as he looks to strengthen the Tottenham frontline. According to German outlet Bild, the Spurs boss is 'very fond' of the 19-year-old winger from Köln.
