Gary Neville admits that he does not have a good feeling ahead of the Europa League final, opining that Tottenham Hotspur have better players across the pitch than Man United.

There has been a lot of debate about who goes into the Europa League final as favourites, particularly given that both Spurs and United have had abject seasons domestically.

Some pundits have said that Tottenham have no chance in the final, given the contrasting recent history in cup finals of the two clubs.

However, others believe Spurs have the edge over United, given that the Lilywhites have already beaten the Red Devils on three occasions this season.

Gary Neville explains why he is worried about Europa League final

Last week, Neville admitted that he has a sickly feeling ahead of the final, given how important it is for both clubs to secure the trophy and qualify for the Champions League.

The Sky Sports pundit has now explained why that is, opining that Tottenham are a much better side than their opponents, man for man.

MORE SPURS STORIES

In fact, the former Man United right-back claimed that Bruno Fernandes is the only United player who would start for Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Neville said on The Overlap: “I’m genuinely, I said it last week, I’ve got a sickly feeling about this game next Wednesday, a sickly, sickly feeling. And the biggest reason I’ve got a sickly feeling is when I look at every single player in the Tottenham team.

“Maddison, I like Maddison, so I don’t want him not to be available, but when you look at Kulusevski, Son, Brennan Johnson, Solanke, if Maddison was there, Bissouma and Sarr, Romero and Van de Ven, Porro and Udogie. When you look at those players, like for like with United, only Bruno, in my opinion, would get into the first 11 of Spurs. I would select every single Tottenham player.

“I said this earlier in the season. The goalkeeper is a 50-50 split, because I don’t like Vicario and I’m not a fan of Onana. But honestly, Udogie, Porro, van de Ven, Romero, Bissouma, Sarr, Johnson, Madison, Solanke, Kulusevski, Son. I would choose every single player of Tottenham’s over Manchester United’s next Wednesday night. That’s my worry.”

Paul Scholes disagrees ahead of Tottenham vs Man United

Not everyone agrees with Neville’s assessment that Ange Postecoglou has a lot more quality at his disposal than Rubem Amorim does.

His former Man United teammate, Paul Scholes, picked just four Tottenham players in the combined eleven with Man United, although some of his picks raised some eyebrows.
