The Thomas Frank era got off to the best possible start this weekend as Spurs beat Burnley 3-0 on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Spurs were brilliant against the Clarets on Saturday, and the man of the hour was Richarlison.

Thomas Frank really rates Richarlison, and his faith is being repaid as he scored two goals on the opening day, including a fantastic overhead kick.

Speaking on The Weekend Wrap, Glenn Hoddle has been discussing Richarlison’s performance vs Burnley, and he says the Brazilian looks like a new player.

Richarlison looks like a new player

Hoddle spoke about the striker and his recent form.

Richarlison was very good against PSG last week, and he was even better against Burnley on Saturday.

The pundit says that Richarlison is like a new player at the moment, noting how much better he looks already.

“Richarlison, playing the best I have seen him play in the Spurs shirt and he’s carried that through to the first league game.

“I like the way he held the ball up. If Spurs can keep him fit, Solanke works hard, but he needs a rest every now and then.

“Richarlison played a lot on the left, but I see him more down the middle really. You can dovetail those two, for me, he’s a real added bonus, it’s like we have a new player with the last two performances.”

Strikers’ records under Thomas Frank

Richarlison is already showing a new lease of life under Thomas Frank, and that’s not all that surprising.

Indeed, Frank does have a knack of getting the best out of his attacking talents, as shown by the stats of many of his players at Brentford.

Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa all played the best football of their careers under Frank, and now, Richarlison will be hoping to do the same.
