Heung-min Son has made a surprising pick for Tottenham Hotspur’s strongest player ahead of the Europa League final – and it is not who anyone expected.

Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for the most important game of their season, with a clash against Manchester United in the Europa League final on the horizon.

Spurs would want to get their hands on silverware as their nearly two-decade wait for a trophy continues.

One player who would be desperate to get his hand on silverware is Heung-min Son, who has been at Tottenham for close to a decade, and has labelled the final against Manchester United as the biggest day of his life.

However, before the final, Son has had a light-hearted conversation about a few of his teammates. Speaking in a video on the Europa League’s official TikTok account, Son was asked to name the ‘strongest’ Tottenham player, to which he replied: “Spence!”

Djed Spence sure does not look like the strongest player in the Tottenham squad, merely looking at his frame, but the full-back has shown that he is one with immense physicality when up against wingers.

Indeed, the Tottenham squad is full of players with different qualities and traits, and Son is, of course, the captain of this squad.

With the Europa League final still to come, the Korean winger would be hoping that he can lead this group to a trophy come Wednesday.

Speaking about what the Europa League final on Wednesday means to him, Son said: “At the end of the day, we can win a trophy, so that is what we are all looking for.

“Wednesday will be the biggest day of my life. Look, it will be great and we will be excited and I hope we can make history.”
