Tottenham will be in the market for a host of reinforcements in the summer transfer window later this year, and Roberto De Zerbi has already told ENIC some targets he wants the club to bring in.
De Zerbi arrived at Spurs back in March, and by the sounds of it, he's already been involved in recruitment meetings ahead of what is likely to be a busy summer window.
Tottenham are sitting just one point above the relegation zone and won't be playing in Europe next season, and as a result, they need to significantly strengthen their squad.
The north London club can't afford to become a side that isn't competing at the highest level, and things need to head back in the right direction as soon as possible.
De Zerbi is committed to the cause, signing a five-year deal at Tottenham, and now the board need to back him in the market.
De Zerbi Requests Tottenham Signing
According to reports in Italy, De Zerbi wants Tottenham to sign Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli in the summer transfer window, requesting the club to pursue his signature in a meeting with ENIC.
The Italian manager has given ENIC a list of possible targets, with Locatelli one of those making the shortlist.
The report claims that Locatelli could leave Juventus when the summer window opens, with his contract expiring in two years.
If Spurs can convince the Italian midfielder, described as 'one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe' by Breaking the Lines, to make the move to north London, it would undoubtedly be a superb signing, adding experience and quality in the middle of the park.
Locatelli a Bentancur Upgrade
Locatelli would be a significant upgrade on Rodrigo Bentancur if they can get a deal over the line, despite the Uruguayan midfielder being a key player for Spurs when fit.
Bentancur has struggled with injuries and consistency during his time at Spurs, and it's time for the north London club to find an upgrade.
Locatelli would be more suited to how De Zerbi wants to play football, and it would be a statement first signing for Tottenham.
Of course, Spurs will need to avoid relegation if they want to attract a player of Locatelli's calibre, so that is the only goal for the club over the coming weeks and months.
