The full-back played a key role in her nation’s thumping 6-0 win over Romania (8-0 on aggregate) as she first teed up Elisabeth Terland for her second of the match – Norway’s third in the contest – after just 12 minutes on the clock.

Then, after Terland completed her hat-trick from the penalty spot and Marthine Ostenstad added to the scoreline in the second period, Julie got her name on the scoresheet with a header from close range with 20 minutes left to play.

With Norway enjoying a healthy advantage at the break, 6-0 on aggregate at the time, goalkeeper Selma Panengstuen was handed her second cap for her country as she was introduced at the break and played 45 minutes to preserve their clean sheet.

Forward Cathinka Tandberg came on just after the hour mark for her first minutes of this international window as Norway safely secured their place in the next round of qualifying for next summer’s tournament and will face Wales in November after they overcame Albania in their play-off double-header.

Matilda Vinberg also produced her second assist in as many games for Sweden as they thrashed Lithuania 10-0 in Solna to book their spot in the next round of qualifiers.

Having teed up Felicia Schroder on Friday night in their first leg victory over Lithuania, our number 13 provided the assist for her nation's 10th and final goal of the evening as her chipped ball into the middle was flicked on by Amanda Ilestedt and into the back of the net.

Tilly started and went on to play the full match while defender Amanda Nilden was introduced at the break and completed 45 minutes.

Sweden will face Kirsty Hanson's Scotland in the second round of qualifying next month after they defeated Czech Republic 5-2 on aggregate, beating them 3-2 this evening in the second leg.

Despite falling behind after just three minutes in Paisley, our number 16 was on hand to set up Lauren Davidson as she found the equaliser for Scotland just two minutes later to reinstate their two-goal advantage over the two legs.

Czech Republic got themselves back in front on the night, but second half strikes from Kathleen McGovern and Christy Grimshaw ensured the Scots took one step closer to qualifying for next summer’s tournament.

Lize Kop, Victoria Pelova and Caitlin Dijkstra also helped the Netherlands to secure their place in the second round of qualifying next month after a convincing 11-0 win over Hungary across the two legs.

Having netted a hat-trick on Friday night for her nation, Vic maintained her spot in the starting XI as she remained in midfield while Lize continued in goal, with the pair completing the full 90 minutes as the Dutch won 3-0 on the night in Tilburg.

Defender Caitlin Dijkstra was an unused substitute with the Netherlands set to face Slovenia in the second round of the play-offs in November.

Earlier in the afternoon, Eveliina Summanen’s Finland fought off Serbia 3-1 (6-2 on aggregate) in their FIFA Women’s World Cup play-off to set-up a second round clash with Italy.

Our midfielder started the contest in Stara Pazova in Serbia and completed 83 minutes.

While the main focus was on the FIFA Women’s World Cup play-offs for our European cohort, Shekiera Martinez’s Germany and Toko Koga’s Japan faced off in an international friendly.

Despite conceding in the first quarter of an hour to Momoko Tanikawa’s strike, Shekiera’s nation came out on top as Linda Dallmann and Klara Buhl completed the turnaround.

Toko started and played the full match for Japan while Shekeira was introduced in stoppage time of the second half.
