The 25-year-old midfielder, who registered 14 goal involvements in 28 games this term, entered the action on the hour mark and ensured her nation secured the 4-1 victory over Serbia in Stara Pazova with all five goals coming in the first half.

That emphatic win on the road cemented Denmark’s spot at the top of their qualifying group – ahead of Matilda Vinberg’s and Amanda Nilden’s Sweden - and book their spot for the 2027 World Cup next summer in Brazil.

Our Swedish duo will compete in the World Cup play-offs after helping their nation come from two-nil down to earn a 2-2 draw with Italy.

Amanda completed the full match in Gothenburg and played a key part in halving the deficit on 70 minutes with her corner headed back into the box by Julia Zigiotti Olme before the ball was forced into her own net by Laura Giuliani.

The defender then was involved in the equalising goal minutes later, her corner once again causing problems for Italy and Fridolina Rolfo was able to fire the ball into the roof of the net. Matila Vinberg was a second-half substitute, replacing Monica Jusu Bah just before the hour mark.

Julie Blakstad, Signe Gaupset and Cathinka Tandberg were in action for Norway as they ran out 2-1 winners over Austria and secured second spot in their qualifying group, finishing below Germany.

Charging into the lead just minutes after the break, Julie was on hand to provide the assist for her nation’s second goal in quick succession, her cross from the left of the box headed home by Caroline Graham. Signe was then rewarded a penalty after her attempted volley inside the box was blocked by an arm of an Austria defender, but Graham was unable to convert.

Julie and Signe started and played the full match for Norway while Cathinka Tandberg was a late second-half substitute, as they prepare to compete in the play-offs to book their spot in next summer’s tournament.

Joining them in the play-offs will be Lize Kop’s Netherlands following their 3-1 win over Poland to finish second in Group A2, with our shot stopper once again starting the match for her nation.

In Group B3, Eveliina Summanen and Olga Ahtinen played a crucial part in Finland’s impressive 3-1 win against Portugal to secure their spot in the World Cup play-offs as one of the best runners-up in League B.

Midfielder Eveliina was named in the starting XI and started the move for Nea Lehtola’s second goal in the second period, after she opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the first half, and reinstate their lead following Kika Nazareth’s equaliser on 29 minutes.

The victory was wrapped up 11 minutes from time as Olga, who was introduced from the substitute’s bench just after the hour mark, delivered a corner into the box which was headed home by Eva Nystrom at the back post.

Meanwhile, Japan suffered a 1-0 defeat to South Africa in an international friendly in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Toko Koga was introduced after the break for her nation and completed 45 minutes.
