Premier League newcomers Leeds United look set to lose one of their prized academy assets this summer.
Talented striker Oliver Boast is poised to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Athletic. The report states no tribunal will be required because the Whites have negotiated a seven-figure transfer fee with Spurs.
Boast, who turned 16 last month, is behind Harry Gray in the pecking order for a striking berth at youth level. Gray made his senior debut back in April, coming on as a late substitute in the Whites' emphatic 6-0 win over Stoke City as Daniel Farke's men secured automatic promotion.
Boast, a number nine by trade, has elected to move to North London to continue his development rather than compete with Gray for regular time. The teenager made his debut for United's Under-18s last August. His eye-catching performances at club level earned him an England U16s call-up last December where he scored his first goal during that camp. He also featured for the U21s side in April.
Assuming the Boast deal goes through without any late hiccups, it will be the second summer in a row Tottenham have signed one of United's best young players. Spurs triggered a release clause in Archie Gray's contract in 2024 after Farke's team agonisingly missed out on promotion last year, securing the services of the versatile midfielder in a £40m deal, with Joe Rodon heading in the opposite direction.
