Leeds vs Tottenhampreview
After a rocky start to the season, Tottenham have won their last three Premier League matches and the omens are good for Saturday's trip to Elland Road.
Spurs won 4-0 at Leeds in February 2022 and triumphed 4-1 the following season before a 2-1 victory in West Yorkshire last term.
However, May's meeting at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended 1-1, helping to delay Spurs's escape from relegation until the final day, and the rivals could be hard to split this weekend.
Bookmakers are struggling to pick a favourite, which is understandable given Tottenham's improved results and Leeds's lean spell, and the draw is an eye-catching price.
Spurs were not playing disastrously during their six-match winless run at the start of the season.
Equally, though, punters should not get carried away by their recent success as they were strong favourites at home to Coventry, sealing a 3-1 win thanks to Ben Davies's 96th-minute goal.
Tottenham benefited from a goalkeeping error and Cole Palmer's red card in the 2-0 victory at Chelsea and beat Crystal Palace by the same scoreline after Jean-Philippe Mateta's early dismissal for the visitors.
De Zerbi's defence is shaping up well. World Cup-winning right-back Pedro Porro could return to the starting 11 and centre-halves Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven should be confident of keeping Leeds's forwards quiet.
Daniel Farke's men turned on the style in September's 4-1 home win over Newcastle but they have scored only two goals in five subsequent matches.
They showed plenty of attacking endeavour in a 2-1 loss at champions Arsenal but 0-0 draws with Palace and Sunderland were disappointing.
Leeds also shared the points with struggling Manchester United at Elland Road in October and had only one shot on target in last weekend's 2-0 loss at Bournemouth.
Speedy Swiss forward Noah Okafor missed that game due to injury while influential defenders James Justin and Gabriel Gudmundsson picked up knocks.
Five of Leeds's last eight league games ended all-square and only Bournemouth had more Premier League draws than their tally of 14 last season.
Before the start of Tottenham's winning run, they had drawn three of their previous four matches including goalless stalemates with Nottingham Forest and Everton.
Spurs striker Dominic Solanke has scored only once in 444 minutes of league action and a lack of cutting edge could hamper both teams' chances of winning at Elland Road.
Maddison magic may unlock home defence
James Maddison's return from long-term injury adds some vim and vigour to Tottenham's attack and he is worth backing to score or assist against Leeds.
Maddison opened the scoring in the win over his former club Coventry and he averages a goal or assist every 140 minutes during his league career at Spurs.
