Tottenham Hotspur loanee Jamie Donley made his tenth loan appearance for Luton Town on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joined Luton on a season-long loan deal this summer.

After being unable to make a first-team impression on Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi, Donley knew he needed to go out and source opportunity.

He's no stranger to a loan move either, having been sent out on four of them during his time in N17.

The Northern Ireland international has made just four competitive first-team appearances for Tottenham.

If he's to stand any major chance of making more, then he needs to enjoy a fruitful loan stint with Luton this term.

What did Luton media say about Jamie Donley vs Doncaster?

Tuesday night saw Luton welcomed Doncaster to Kenilworth Road for a League One clash.

The Hatters have been in strong form of late, winning three of their last four league games ahead of Doncaster.

Jack Wilshere's side have extended that winning run too, beating Rovers 3-1 in a dominant home performance.

Donley bagged a second-half brace to help make sure of the points, after Wilshere handed him another start.

Luton Today reported on the victory, and were full of praise for how the Spurs loanee took his two goals.

"Luton didn't have to wait long to be celebrating again, just six minutes in fact, George Johnston's ball forward nodded on by Marshall, with Richards taking a touch and then playing in Donley to his left who thrashed a wonderful angled finish into the bottom corner beyond the diving Simkin," they wrote.

"Luton had a third when a spinning Mendel began the move that saw Richards burst away on the left, his low cross not dealt with, landing at the feet of Donley, the on-loan Spurs player confidently drilling home his second of the evening."

So, aside from his two goals, just how good was Donley's all-round performance against Doncaster?

Donley has emerged as an essential player for Luton this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists from 10 league appearances.

Tuesday night was arguably his best performance for the Hatters too, and his exploits will no doubt reach Tottenham.

Per FotMob, no player on the pitch created more chances than Donley's three, whilst he also took three shots and completed 83 per cent of his passes.

He also played nine passes into the final third, played three accurate long balls, completed both of his dribble attempts and made five recoveries.

Donley won two tackles, four of his eight ground duels and made one block, in what was an all-round dominant performance.

Tottenham and De Zerbi will be relieved to see such an improvement.
