Manchester United are now five games unbeaten under Ruben Amorim after a dramatic 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils have drawn 2-2 in their last two outings with both matches following a similar pattern. The Red Devils went ahead in the first half against both Nottingham Forest and then Tottenham, only to concede goals in quick succession to go behind.
Against Forest, those goals came very early in the second half but at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium they conceded in the 84th and 91st minute but clinched a point when Matthijs de Ligt dramatically headed home in the 96th minute.
Ruben Amorim would have likely been delighted with 11 points from a five-game run that included trips to Liverpool, Forest and Spurs - as well as a home game with Brighton with the Seagulls previously enjoying a strong record against United.
What Ruben Amorim said about Man Utd draw at Tottenham
Reflecting on the 2-2 draw in North London, Amorim reflected: “In the end, I think if you see the game you feel that the three points were there to take home, but then with everything that happened - Harry has to come out, Casemiro has to come out, [so does] Ben [Sesko].
“ We suffered two goals again in a short period of time, but managed to score again, so it's a point. When you cannot win, you don’t lose and once again we managed to do that. If you look to the game and if you feel the environment, we have so much to grow as a team, because today was our day to win this game.”
He added: “I think it's more we need to look at ourselves. We were not pressing with the same intensity, because we felt comfortable. We need to understand that but to feel also that if we have a little bit more bravery, we can kill this game. Sometimes it's like that: you have a first half better than the second.”
