Bryan Mbeumo shone but was letdown by his Manchester United teammates as they secured a dramatic 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. Ruben Amorim made three changes to his side with Harry Maguire, Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu selected instead of Leny Yoro, Diogo Dalot and Benjamin Sesko.
United took the lead when the excellent Mbeumo headed in from close range after a brilliant cross from Amad Diallo and some expert build-up play by Matheus Cunha in what was a rather low-key first half.
Tottenham started the better of the two sides after the break, but were twice denied by Senne Lammens, who made a couple of important stops, while Brennan Johnson had a goal disallowed for offside. The home side continued to dominate and finally secured an equaliser when Mathys Tel turned in the box.
It looked like United would hold on for a point, but things turned from bad to worse when Richarlison glanced in what looked to be a dramatic winner in extra time. Amorim’s side dug deep, though and salvaged a point at the death through Matthijs De Ligt.
Here is how we rated the United players.
